I came in because there was a skippers sign on the window, and it has been a while since I have enjoyed that restaurant, so I wanted to see what they had. The first thing that struck me was that there was a total of 2 tables and 2 chairs. Not ideal if you want to sit down for a quick lunch. The guy running the register in the main part of the store took my ordering of a clam chowder bread bowl and some hush puppies. Im glad that I was paying attention, because he was overcharging for the hush puppies. He punched them up at $5.25, when they were listed for $3.99. He fixed it when I brought it to his attention, but it wasnt a good start to the experience. After an acceptable amount of time the lady running the food area asked who ordered the bread bowl, and she gave me a bag with a loaf of bread in a bag, and a styrofoam container of chowder. If I hadnt double checked my order I would have walked out without the hush puppies that I had almost overpaid for. The guy at the counter did tell her that I had ordered the hush puppies, but she hadnt heard him. I then got my container of hush puppies and left the store. The chowder was good, and the hush puppies were good enough to add a star to the review. The bread bowl wasnt that great unfortunately. It was slightly chilled, and had just a small amount taken from the inside. The plastic spoon that was provided was so flimsy that it was difficult to scoop out some bread with the chowder. The sour dough flavor was ok, but the loaf was rather dry and dense, and I didnt finish eating it. I probably wont come back or recommend it to others.
