Can not pick much. The tree is still small and tall. You will need to rent the ladder or step stools to pick the top sweet cherry. Yes, you not just pay for parking but tote bags as well. So bring your own. Bad experience here with weather condition, too many people and customers service. Especially long line to weigh in and pay your cherry.
Quaint little place to pick up some fresh fruit. I come for the ice cream, Winegars us pretty darn good. There several other attractions like u-pick, knickknacks in the shop, or the few seasonal events. Worth a visit for the ice cream alone. It is on the spendier side, 5 cones ran me 24$. So not the anytime visit but worth it once in a while.
This was a great experience and very tasty cherries. Not sure what the bad reviews are talking about.. they are open at 9am and it’s not that hot then (that’s when I went), and of course if you go on a weekend in the middle of the day there will be a lot of people. It’s cherry season, and there are tons of cherries to pick, so it’s expected.. so not sure what these reviewers are complaining about.Plan to go at better times and you don’t have to deal with any crowds.Overall a great time picking some cherries!
Quaint little place. Went in for some peaches and came out with fruit, delicious gourmet snacks and ice cream. I love the little gift shop there. They have the best smelling candles.
We love this fruit place. Specially on fall to go play at the pumpkin patch its so nice for my toddler emilio.
I absolutely LOVE this place!!! Im visiting from out of town and a friend of mine highly recommended I stop by and spend a little time here - SO GLAD I DID!! Lovely atmosphere, all the employees are super friendly and helpful, there is a divine little ice cream counter in the back corner by all the yummy jams & jellies and other specialty food items and they handed out peach smoothie samples - HEAVEN!! They also have a great little selection of WSU and Seahawk collectible items (items Ive never seen before!!) and you wont find better looking/tasting fruit for such a terrific price! The donut peaches are a MUST TRY!! Make this your next stop....you will be so happy you did!!! Im headed back today for ice cream!! 🎉😊
All fruit is freshly picked, and delicious!! Homemade Ice-cream to satisfy your taste, plus home made caramels. It is a scenic drive to get there, but well worth it!!
Website said they will close at 3, Google search shows they close at 4, BUT! Actually they close @2! They explained that due to the hot weather, need to watering the plants, that’s the Yakima normal weather during summer 88~96. And we arrived 1:40, only 15 mins left, they didn’t mentioned that they would close on the field at all. We so disappointed! Hope many more people recognize this true fact.
Always a great experience you get! Spend time with family picking Rainier and Bing cherries. Price per lb. is still on the high considering you are picking under the hot sunny day... also they should provide an ample supply of commodes/portalets for patrons. Just an out house in the middle of the cherry trees close to the gathering/instructional section.
Terrible customer service! We arrived before the U-pick ended and were turned away because they wanted to end the day early. They only offer hours during the hottest part of the day (10-3) which doesn’t work for small children. After spending a significant amount of money here over the past several years; they will no longer earn my patronage. I hope their policies put them out of business. We were more than happy to be accommodated at Leibrecht’s in Wapato until the sun goes down...
I wanted a nice gift basket that would showcase some of the best products of the Yakima Valley so I went to the Washington Fruit Place at Barrett’s Orchard in Peck’s Canyon to accomplish the task. Sadee & the team there helped me choose a great variety of items & went above and beyond to create the beautiful professional arrangement. I was thrilled with the results & I know the recipient of the gift will love it too! Thank you so much Washington Fruit Place! It is such a fun place to shop. I highly recommend them.
Lovely ladies and very nice gift shop. Cherries were great!
What a fun place! Very friendly, fun home decor, great ice cream, was able to ship some fruit to relatives with ease! I would recommend you check this place out!!
Thought it was stange 2 B offered A Peach Smoothie then have 2 pay 4 it. Where Im from, when ur offered something U get it. U dont pay 4 it. Also Apricots didnt have much flavor. (Weird)
Lovely peonies and great fruit. Has many gift items as well!
Very unprofessional attitudes shown by the young girls working there. Not friendly to kids nor pets. Never would recommend anyone coming here unless they want a bad experience.
I always buy Asian pears here and corn stalks every year.
Fresh fruit and so much more. At Christmas time they sell holiday decor and turn their little red barn into a great place to go for a special almost 1 of a kind gift. Friendly workers who are most willing to help you out.
Good ice cream good service!Flower hanging basket beautiful!
Super quaint little place local secret.
Such a cute shop with delicious fruit
Way too expensive, they charge $10 to get in and additional $3.50 per lb for cherries that you pick. Wasnt clear on this when we went in and ended up spending nearly $600. When I tried to reason with the employee she told me it said this information on a little sign when you walk in and there is ABSOLUTELY nothing she can do help us with this misunderstanding 🤷♀️
Wonderful. Charming. Friendliest people. We always enjoy ourselves there. And the ice cream is pretty delicious.
The Fruit I order from here isalways awesome and in peak condition! I know how hard it is to be a Farmer in modern times but I appreciate the hard working ones that help feed us all! Thank you for continuing to provide us with fruit and a smile. I’m anxiously awaiting peach and nectarine season!
No cherries on the tree. All picked.
Barrett Orchards store is so cute! It had a good selection local products and home goods. The decor and asethetics are so friendly and welcoming. My parents and friends kept going back to buy more fruit considering the quality and prices were very good. We plan to go back and make it to their U-Pick days!
Wonderful Elberta peaches! Fast and friendly curbside service! Great place to shop!!!!
Friendly staff with great produce and delicious Winegars ice cream. Prices are a little spendy for some items.
Quite a unique store you dont find the old farmers type store anymore and the staff were friendly and helpful with anything your looking for
Very nice people. Place is kept up.
Love this place !! Great products. I bought some huckleberry salad dressing and the cosmic crisp apples. So excited to find such a down to earth place with all the yummy food you cant find in stores.
Barrett Orchards is an awesome place! Located closer to town than many other fruit stands, this place has delicious tree-ripened fruit (peaches, cherries, pears, apples, etc.). Prices are good and in line with what you would pay elsewhere in town. In addition to the fruit, Barrett Orchards has all sort of gifts and cute items for sale. Depending on what time of year you go, they typically have seasonal gifts. Around Christmas time, they will have Santa there for several hours during various weekends to take pictures with the kids! Pictures are free to take with your own camera!
If you want tree ripened fruit in a cool atmosphere this is the place. Great prices with fruit that was picked that day. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I cant wait to go back. Thanks for the great experience. Its worth the drive. On a hot day the ice cream was delicious.
Very homey, prices a little high but with speciality stores you have to expect it. The staff is very helpful also. Nice decor too. UPDATE: Looks can be deceiving, a box of apples were purchased and sent to Palmer, AL., for my brother and his family. The problem was Washington Fruit screwed up the order, hence ruining the Christmas gift for them. When we tried to get a refund, oh they dont do that. The idiot owner just sent a bunch of sub standard apples figuring that would fix the problem, NOT. Anyways, it amazes me how a business thinks they can ruin a Christmas gift for someone and act like its no biggie. We wont purchase anything from them again. Oh, trying to contact someone after December by phone good luck. They close for like 3 or 4 months, then reopen... so by then its too late to get anything done. I got the owners cell phone number from a worker I found one day when driving out to the shop looking for someone. Its a pretty good scam for Barrett Fruits, it definitely screws the customer.
Beautiful cozy fruit stand and gift shop. Best ice cream ever! Loved the huckleberry. Followed the sign to buy cherries and was very surprised to discover this hidden treasure. Lots of neat things to look at. The staff were very professional and super friendly.
Love to shop here...so many wonderful things to buy! My favorite icecream Lavender Salted Caramel in a waffle cone!
Great customer service. Good selection and good prices. Definately go back
Wonderful staff! Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable. U-pick cherries were perfectly ripe and delicious! The Staff answered any question I had clearly and concisely. I didnt feel like a customer, I felt like a friend.
Never been before until today. Interesting items. Of course this time of year, mainly Christmas items on display and for sale.
I so enjoy stopping here to see some of their new items. Always like getting a new Cougar item for my collection.
Love this place! Great selections! Tons of apples to choose from & they even have ice cream! There are farmhouse type decorations too. A must see.
Sent cherries to SLC to my son.....he got them and is so happy 😊..they are huge !!!!! Great service !!!!!
Awesome as usual
All the local fresh fruits your looking for, cherries are being picked right out of the trees outside the store
I absolutely adore this little gem, tucked away in the orchards of Yakima. This converted barn offers a gift shop, ice cream, espresso drinks, fresh fruit, and some u-pick when the cherries are ready. Whatever the season, this little place has a beautiful atmosphere that wont disappoint.
Very nice place. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Highly recommend it especially if you have kids
Awesome
The staff was friendly and helpful and it was tranquil to sit in the orchard while sipping a delicious peach smoothie.
Great place! I picked 10lb of cherry from the trees and it is so sweet! 1.99 per lb. And there is a one guy that way more sweeter than cherry.
This is the best place in town. The staff is always cheery. The fruit is as fresh as you can get, picked the very same day. I highly recommend this place.
U-pick cherries are yummy. I dont like that they have long checkout lines. They should improve the check out experience.
2017 cherry season opened too soon. Rainer cherries were not ripe yet, just white no pink blush. Still sour note to them. Not fair to customers trusting they are ripe. Feel deceived. Well be picking elsewhere next season. After reading another shoppers story I need to tell the rest of mine too. I too picked cherries that the cashier messed up. She gave my cherries to another customer, even over my protests. I paid for my cherries and got the other customers cherries that were significantly less in pounds. When the girl finally listened to me, she actually offered to run after the other customers to take my cherries back! Can u imagine the other customers reaction to this?! I had to step in and do the professional thing by letting it go. No way was I involving the other elderly customers in my drama. I did contact the owners about the situation so they could solve the problem in the future. Now I see that someone else had the same thing happen a month later. Way to go Washington Fruit! Ill never be back.
Love this place. They have different events throughout the year. Also best Santa around.
Fun place to have a fall birthday party. Small child hay maze, hay ride, cider press, pumpkins, gift shop. Neat place.
Not really my speed. They had good ice cream.
The shop itself is nice. They started charging $5 for parking, saying everyone else in town is doing it, but thats not the case. We went cherry, blueberry, peach, and pear picking at several other farms in the area without being charged a fee for parking. Very disappointed and wont be back to pick. Their u-pick prices are grocery store equivalent anyways.
Very fun! Tractor hay rides, small hay maze great for young kids! Huge ice cream cones for $2.50! Really glad we came
Peach prices were great. They will let you sample the fruit first. Theres also lots of artsy decor and hand scooped ice cream.
I love the place. We go there every year. This year we didnt get to press all our apples for cider. I wasnt happy about that
The ladies here were so amazingly helpful! We forgot our apples and they brought them out as well as helping us haul our pumpkins!
2017 Season, first time here, horrible service. Kicked people out before it closes at 3PM, showed no respect or friendliness to customers who drove a few hours over. Cashier messed up with different bags but insisted that she was right and knew what she was doing.Heard from a few others that their service used to be good, and turned 180 degrees this year probably due to the increasing popularity.Definitely will avoid going to this place again.
Great place for canning Peaches, but cherries were pretty pricy for bulk canning.
Not sure if I missed it on the website, but knowing ahead of time that it would cost to park there would have been nice. Same prices as the store or fruit stand, so the fee just puts the cost a little over the top if youre just getting a few lbs of cherries.
Ladies there were super nice and the ice cream is really tasty.
Great place to go for fresh (organic or not) fruit. Also gifts for special family and friends.
A Great Place To Get Some Really Good Products!@
Very sweet and good produce.
Excellent place to do business, and you wont get treated better anywhere, and the food is out of this world!!
Nice people with good fresh fruits and gift ideas.
Quaint with a great selection.
Friendly staff but an absolute rip off to charge customers $5 to park. Never had to pay for parking last year. Several staff tried to justify the fee by stating the increase in minimum wage. Sounds like a poor attempt to justify greed. Wont be getting any more of my business as the increased price has caused a very elastic response.
Great place to pick cherries. We picked around 12lbs of cherries while we were there and the price is very reasonable.
Very friendly! Their tree riped fruit is juicy and delicious.
Great place for fruit in season, tasteful gifts and the best home made ice cream around
Great produce spendy but great quality and close by.
Great services friendly staff, plenty of parking spaces about less than 3 hours from Seattle/Tacoma areas
Great opportunity for me to see an orchid in operation.
Very good cherries as we were there just first day they opened for UPick. However, (1) many fruits are not ripe and tastes sour (2) rainier is very expensive at $3/lb (3) ladders are $5 for rent - that was what we disliked the most.
Very pleased with our experience at this business.
Very pleasant place to shop. They have a variety of this to look at to buy.
Great place to pick cherries. My wife and I picked 24 lbs of them
The place to go when you want good local grown fruit
Great place for fruit an snacks for all
Tons of tasty cherries for u-pick for really low price. (: 1 bucket is about 15lbs.
Love the ice cream and fruit smoothies which are dairy free and made with real fruit.
Expensive but good fruit
Beautiful fruits, they actually had Hale peaches.
Close from the free way, and wide firm.
My daughter likes it and she did have fun
Awesome selection. Will be back.
