I enjoyed my visit with Gary. He is very knowledgeable and has a great music shop.
Really helpful and honest! Theyll always tell you what your best options are, even if it takes away from their business.
Mr Taylors store is great for small repairs and buying products like musical instruments & accessories.
Very knowledgeable and friendly local music shop. Gary is such a nice fellow and wonderful to talk with about all sorts of instruments. Could have stayed chatting for hours. Great little local gem 💎
Excellent service and great to deal with! Super nice folks I signed up for guitar lessons and Bob who I was signed up with for a instructor is an amazing Person and made me feel super comfortable! Thank you Gary & Bob for making a first time experience Great!
Best music store in town.
Great local spot. Best spot for acoustic guitars. They are always timely with repairs and string changes and best price on guitar strings as well. Half off or 2 for 1. The new location is great and the lay out is open and friendly.
Had the book my daugther needed. Wonderful knowledgeable staff to help if needed. Much better than other place.
The owner is amazing. He was very friendly and honest. He took as much time needed to answer all of my questions.
Im a performer, and just to brush up on technique I took guitar lessons and accordion lessons at Taylor Music. Jim helped me a lot on guitar and Bob did as well on accordion. I had a blast with both of them. They were friendly and supremely qualified to do what they do. They both helped me increase the quality of my own performances. Gary Taylor has a great bunch of folks teaching there and his inventory of guitars is impressive. You can even have your guitar tweaked or fixed to improve its playability. All in all, Id recommend Taylor Music to anyone.
Found myself a really great guitar here. Great service and reasonable prices. I would have given 5 stars but they dont have enough bass guitar products.
Decent. Knowledgeable guys, limited selection. Id go to Black Bear for guitar work though. Had a set up go awry here so Ill be going elsewhere for guitar service.
Great experience every time in Taylors music! Very helpful and wont mislead you! I will always go here!!
I was asked if I had any questions after playing a riff on a junk electric sparkle red guitar through a 30 y/o amp by a seemingly nice old dude and was interrupted by my surprise, anxiety ridden, gf so I rolled my words Into go let me ask this question. So she retreated to wherever again and apparently so did he before I could ask the question. In his defense, i guess, the customer chick he went to after was hot AF.
Went in to get two strings on a old electrical guitar. They were super helpful, and very knowledgeable and friendly. Browsed their keyboard selecton, GREAT selection and prices!
Not a huge selection of instruments but always has the accessories we need and very knowledgeable, friendly service. Good prices too!
Locally owned Music Store with wonderful staff wouldnt go anywhere else
Pretty cool local business, friendly help, and actually pretty good prices.
Bob did a nice job of making me feel comfortable at my 1st guitar lesson.
Great customer service. I always reccomend them
Had exactly what I needed great service
Very nice, easy going folks, they give you time to look around and help you find what they have in stock very qwickly...well worth your time just to stop by and look around
I went into the shop late one night a little bit before they were about to close just to see what they had in stock, I wasnt planning on purchasing anything. I saw what was marked as a Jackson Soloist XLS, used for $350. That particular model MSRPs for $599 new, and was exactly the format I was looking for. I talked with the salesmen for a while, played it a little bit on a low volume as they were giving lessons to someone, and walked out of the door with it. A few hours later I noticed some discrepancies in the construction, and realized that it wasnt a Soloist XLS but a Dinky JS--a model that MSRPs new for $299. At first I thought it was just a mistake, because they were selling this on consignment, and I figured whoever brought it in just told them it was the wrong guitar.Well, I got a refund for it, but I do not believe it was an honest mistake. The salesman seemed to realize there was a sticker missing where one should have been on the headstock, and honestly they should know better anyway. I was in a rush and only looked the guitar over for wear and damage, so I didnt notice the difference in construction until a few hours later. When I asked for a refund, they said they normally dont once an instrument leaves the doors because people will play gigs and then come and return them. I was pretty taken back by the suggestion I was the one being dishonest here given the circumstances, especially because theyd never disputed that it was the wrong model. In fact I never got any explanation for why they were selling it as the wrong model, and only a stock apology of, Sorry it didnt work out. Beyond that, I had to wait for him to finish a phone call before he even helped me out which was pretty annoying, and I couldnt help but eavesdrop, and the entire time it became evident that they were having financial problems because theyre in the middle of a move. The entire thing is very suspect, and it really can only mean one of two things, and thats either that they were very dishonest or very incompetent. Maybe they ought to just stick with acoustics. Overall I really cant believe theyve gone down hill this much, and normally I wouldnt let one bad experience taint the years of good experiences, but I just do not believe they made this mistake in earnest. The entire time he was issuing the refund he kept subtly trying to get me to keep the guitar. When I was initially looking at the guitar, the salesman even claimed that at one point they only make 10% off the consignment, and there was never any dispute at all that theyd sold it as the wrong model. It just doesnt add up and has eroded any confidence and trust I had.
I visited Taylor music today and had quite a terrible experience. I walked in and was greeted with blank stares and silence as the shop employees half glanced up from their computers. I took a quick stroll to see what they had before asking if I could play a few guitars. They responded with just take care of them as if I was going to purposefully damage their instruments. I played a couple of their acoustics before seeing a double-cut Les Paul. I was pretty excited to see this guitar because its one that Ive been wanting to add to my personal guitars.I again asked one of the associates if I could plug into an amp before just doing it myself. I asked for something with clean tone and reverb because of the style of music I play and because I play through a 72 super reverb I wanted to make sure it was the sound I was after. The guy sighs and plugs me into a Marshall half stack instead and walks away. I cant stand the sound of Marshall and not to mention theres no reverb. Was disappointed because I would have waked out with that guitar today if they hadnt been so rude. I understand how it works at a music store, you see a young guy walk in and assume Im just looking and dont have money to buy.I worked at Ted Brown Music in Richland for 3 years and ran the guitar department for part of that time. I knew what I was looking for and I also expect great customer service when I walk into a music shop. You missed out on a sale today, gentleman. I leave this review that you not make the same mistake again.
