Good hardware/departmental store in town with almost everything you would need for Home Improvements, Automotive/Electrical needs, Lawn Care and lots of outdoor stuff. You can check your quick Grocery pickups while you are there for other things. Always with good customer service!

My family and I spent about an hour and half shopping. This place has lots of problems. 1) if you want to purchase say plywood or framing lumber. You have to first go into the store on one end walk all they to the back of the store. Wait in line generally, then place your order. You then have to walk all they way back to the front of the store. Stand in line again generally wait, because they have only one or two cashiers. You then pay, and walk out the opposite side of the store. Walk all the way back to your vehicle. You then have to drive behind the store where youll be greeted by a guard shack. Youll then have to wait again while they do their thing. Then you have to spend 20-30 minutes searching for your purchase at 34 below zero. You just might break your neck carrying an 8 2*12 down a flight of stairs just to load it. Good luck finding any help. If that isnt enough then youll more than likely have to special order some of the most basic construction materials. You can spend two hours in there looking for something and not have a single employee offer to help, but if your 5 year old child removes her mask. Youll have 5 show up to interrupt your shopping just to tell you she needs a mask. Then still not offer any assistance. Youre better offer going somewhere else. Its really not even convenient.

Terrible customer service. staff are either stocking shelves or looking for someone to confront about the mask mandate. 2 differ r staff members were unable to answer where a product might be located in the store.

Picked up an online order only to find the product completely damaged once I got home. Menards idea of customer service is to tell you that you can drive all the way back to their store to exchange it when it was their mistake. Beware of pickup orders, its apparently their way of getting rid of damaged items. Make sure you open everything before you leave

I couldnt get what I needed from my local Menards, thankfully the Yankton store had it. I was helped by a very nice gentleman and his helper. The older lady at the register couldnt have been nicer, and the two gentlemen that helped me load my truck were very friendly and kind. All in all it was a very nice shopping experience.

Spent the better part of an hour shopping without a mask (Im Medically Exempt) and several employees at this Yankton, South Dakota store that Id interacted with had said nothing.After using the rest room before checking out, I was accosted by Menards Mask Police, advising me that masks are required. I explained that I was exempt, and explained why, and was harassed, being told to then buy a mask which they sell at the store.So let me see if Ive got this straight.... I can without a mask, purchase a mask, so I can then purchase the items in my cart; but I cant without a mask, purchase the items in the cart and then just depart the store; have I got this right?People are afraid, I get that. But ONE, I have no symptoms to cause myself or anyone else reason to worry that Id be spreading COVID-19.TWO, if you are wearing a mask, you are protected at 6 social distancing, weather those around you wear masks or not.THREE, it says on the side of the box of medical-grade ear-loop masks that there is no guarantee the mask fully protects against COVID-19.And FOUR, if youll sell me the mask without wearing a mask, but wont sell me the other products in my cart until Ive first purchased the mask, thats a double-standard, and not very good business etiquette.It is because of this fourth and final insight that Menards has just cost themselves a life long customer. I live in Arkansas, so Im not familiar with the locals here in Yankton, SD. But anybody know a good local attorney?Ill include a photo of the box label for medical-grade masks. If somebody is on the way in your store, and you want to harass them regarding the wearing of masks, thats one thing. Had to take some ceiling vent registers back because they were to wide. Returning them went fine. When I asked an employee to tell me where I could find the aisle with the vent registers, he said and I quote We do not carry any of those contraptions.. So disappointed with some of the employees there.

Your Covid restrictions on not allowing kids in the store is getting out of hand! You have made it virtually impossible for customers with children to shop. Some People don’t have alternative options to take their kids. What are wanting us to do, leave them in the car?!! I guess I’m curious why does your store hate kids? Found what I was looking for at this location. Called ahead to see if a particular item was in stock & associate who I talked with checked its stock location & confirmed it was there before I had to drive over a hour to this location. Cashier was also friendly on my checkout.

Decent selection. Relatively low quality items in most departments, but functional. Must wear a mask in store which makes shopping in a large store much more difficult, especially if you wear glasses (fogging). Will avoid shopping here as much as possible and order quality items elsewhere unless I need something immediately.

We just moved here from Texas and needed some supplies for our new home. In Texas the governor had unconstitutionally “mandated” masks so we were looking forward to being in a free state with a governor who left mask wearing up to the individual and did not FORCE the face coverings and for the most part we have had zero issues other than Menards. We walked in and shopped around a bit. There were literally 5-7 people in the entire store, so socially distancing was not an issue whatsoever. After being in the store for about 20 minutes and not having anyone harass us about our not wearing a mask, the manager comes and follows us around telling us that we HAVE to wear a mask or leave. We explain that we cannot wear masks and she states that if we don’t wear masks, they will refuse service and call security. By law, no one person or one business should ask for proof of exemption or deny services to a person who cannot wear masks. We left the store immediately and have not and will not return. We will also make sure to let everyone know of their very poor business practices.

Poor customer relations.my health condition prohibits wearing a mask, and entered the store and let them know of my condition only to be harassed by an assistant manager and a associate to leave without being able to get my items. at no time is there anything stating how I can get items without a mask. I have never been so rudly treated even after a civil explanation of condition. I recommend all find elsewhere to shop other than specifically yankton menards.

A good lumberyard with a great supply of tools for any aspiring DIYer. The discounts alone during 11% off weeks a a Menards card earns me 13% back on my purchases. They also are very health conscience by wearing masks and sanitizing at the registers after each customer.

Went into store to get paint samples and ask a couple questions, couldnt find anyone working until a lady approached us and said our 3 yr old needed to wear a mask in a very angry tone. Your rules state child must be in arms length or in a cart if not wearing a mask. Very rude unhelpful employees.

Asked for assistance on finding a shower replacement knob, the sales associate didnt even know if they sold them individually let alone show me where it was. Just said it would be in plumbing. No direction, nothing.Wasnt rude, just not helpful or good service. As someone who works in management in a customer orientated business, Im apalled at the lack of skills let alone the interest to help the employee displayed and thats the result of poor management more often than not.

The manager Ben at the Yankton store should be fired!! My wife tried to buy several items that were marked $0.99 originally for $2.49. They happened to ring up at $5.99, and my wife explained that the sign in front of the item said $0.99. Not only would the store not honor the price on the sign they put up, they also didnt accept their mistake, but instead accused my wife of moving the items, or the sign. Ben even went on to cuss at my wife about it saying hes not changing the f****** price just for the customer!! Very unprofessional, and absolutely no customer service!!

Not happy I told the sales lady I wanted 1/4 inch plywood twice so I get my paper to go pay and I didnt look at it I get out to the lumber yard and their was 3/8 inch plywood on my bill and was told 1/4 plywood was inside after the lumber yard person looked at my bill he found the 3/8 so I took that what a waste of my time Ill go to a small town lumber yard next time

Order a trampoline Tuesday. I was told it would be here Wednesday. The distribution center in shelby iowa didnt put the trampoline on the truck. No menards in yankton is saying its on back order when i was told more then once it would be here this week. WHERE IS THE $300 TRAMPOLINE I PAID FOR?

We were shopping for several home improvement items and other things and the employee suggested we come back tomorrow and shop with the 11% off all purchased items. Menards is a good place for most of your home and do it your self needs. Its just ok for contractors in my opinion and there is definitely better suppliers out there if your in a particular sector of construction. Prices are fair but you got to remember you get what you pay for here. Cheap is cheap!

Generally I love Menards. Its my go to home improvement store. Ive always liked the Yankton location for selection but havent required much in the ways of customer service. Last night I needed though help with a few things. Starting at the contractor desk an employee politely went to find a person who worked the desk. She came and was very impersonal. Everything seemed short and as if she needed to get back to something else. I mentioned needing help loading some plywood and I dont recall her responding to. I went over there and didnt see anybody at first so I went over to the dimensional lumber and finally found a cart I needed to load it. After I finished that I found a different employee and asked if he would find someone to help me load the plywood. He went with me and started loading. An employee did come over and apologize that she came to help me but didnt see me there and thought I left. The service desk lady did come by also and apologize that I didnt receive the help, which was nice. Then I needed paint. The lady was also short but helpful to a point. There is a code that they use at Menards for a true black that I wanted and she wasnt sure what I meant. I called Norfolk and she spoke to the Yankton employee, with which the Yankton employee was notably annoyed by. I wanted it in a five gallon pail and she told me that the color wont be true in that large of a pail and suggested doing one gallon pails. I didnt really want to deal with the time of single gallons and wasnt sure if I trusted her so I said I think Ill just sit tight. She responded in a joking but not really comment of so I guess that was just of a big waste of time. The checkout lady seemed a bit rude and short as well and at this point the whole experience had drug out to 15 minutes prior to closing. The guy who helped me load my pickup after checkout was nice. We ran around the back to the lumber yard and the gate guy was very nice as I apologized for being so close to close. I went into the shed where I needed to go and passed an employee, the one who was supposed to help me load things inside. I parked no more than 15 yards away from her and by the time I got out she had disappeared. She never came back to help, leaving my wife with arthritis to help me load. Definitely my least favorite Menards experience in recent memory.

Good luck finding someone to assist you. After I finally found someone they didnt walk me to the item sent me to another department (wrong one) asked someone there who didnt say anything but walked away. She came back a few mins later and took me to someone else who again didnt offer to take me to the item but sent me to another department where I finally on my own found the correct item. No one ever came up and asked if I needed help the entire 90 mins I was in the store. I would give 0 stars if I could.

Mernards was able have some merchandise arrive at the Yankton store as a set aside order but it will arrive with the regular items in about 17 days. Could not special order it. Clerk was very helpful. It is store policy that should change.

I visit Menards several times a week while I remodel my downstairs kitchen and the people there have saved me hours. I had to do some plumbing (that I was especially clueless about) and the the guy in the plumbing section(Ruben I think) basically took me around the isles and showed me everything I needed and how to use it. It honestly saved me hours of headache trying to do things wrong.I also love the fact that if I buy anything at Menards and it goes on sale in the next 2 weeks they give you a credit for the difference.

Customer service is all but nonexistent - I walked around for 30 min and found 1 customer service rep on the floor -- and he had no idea about grills. Unlike Lowes and Home Depot they dont give a military discount - guess they have something against the militaryThey have a lot of unique items and a lot of junk and in Yankton it appears to all be self service
