Neat and well-kept, but wish it had better/more cold drink options.

This Hannaford location used to be one of the best managed in the area. Unfortunately, the pandemic, seemingly constant changeover in store leadership and the recent labor shortage have taken their toll. Shelves are rarely fully stocked, check out lines are long and the overall quality of service is diminished. Still not quite as bad as Shaws in Freeport but getting closer..!

A decent place no real issue with it. Does not have Whole Foods selection but the prices are way better. For example a pack of Allagash White is $2 cheaper.

Decent Hannaford. Prices are similar to Portland area stores. It could use a major renovation to bring it in line with today’s best grocery stores rather than attempting to make modest upgrades every few years.

This store was in Yarmouth, ME I purchased food and alcohol beverages for six adults for three days for $164; not bad.

The rewards set up is not easy for non techie seniors. I was certain I had done everything to be able to get the promotion of spend 60.00 and 7.00would be deducted. Well it didnt happen this morning. Spent76.34.no deduction but the meat mark down ...thus my monthly budget, that s it. The bagger

Recently needed small pumpkins for the kids Fall festival at school. The produce department made sure we got the 20 mini pumpkins we needed!

I love this store. Theyre not perfect, but the store is clean, inviting, and open when I need to buy something.

Organic selection is getting better. Dates on boxed lettuce are fresher than whole foods.

Ditto below on the rude deli counter mentioned in one of the other reviews… my wife also likes thin sliced and has gotten into knockdown drag outs a couple times. Also, the Yarmouth Karens glare at you if you don’t have a mask on.

I recently moved to Yarmouth and have had 2 terrible experiences at the deli counter. When I asked for very thinly sliced meats and cheeses I had to stop the associate because the slices were much thicker then I prefer. Both times each associate told me rudely that that was the best they could do. I have never been treated so rudely by any associate of Hannaford when I shopped in Westbrook or Gorham. The Yarmouth deli associates should take some training in customer service from the Westbrook or Gorham staff. I will not ever buy my deli meats from there again.

Hannaford is the place to go if you are looking for great prices and quality products. Hannaford is my store of choice for all my grocery needs.

Crowded, couldnt get gift cards because I didnt want to stand in line forever, went self checkout which was also a cluster. They really need to figure out a new checkout line policy. There is being safe and then there is being unnessisary.

Great place to shop for all your food needs

I usually have loved this location since moving here but today I had got in line with two bottles of wine. I handed over my Illinois license because I have to wait a certain number of weeks until I arrive at the DMV during this pandemic, and I handed over my military ID to justify my age because IL is faked quite often. When my military ID wasn’t enough, the cashier had the nerve to ask me what brought me to Maine in a fake nice voice (a voice I know well having worked many years in CS), and I simply said I moved here because that’s the answer but it seemed like I needed to be elaborate with him? Was very rude. I offered to show my debit and credit cards but he denied, and then further looked my ID in a book. I totally understand that he’s just doing his job, but then he didn’t help me with my bags and said “have a nice day” in a way as if he was talking to a child. Really embarrassing. I’m a grown woman and clinician. If you’re having a bad day, please don’t pass it onto others because I have plenty of stress in my life already and just want a glass of wine in the evening! LoL. My goodness I usually comply but with such a fake demeanor, I felt belittled as if he wanted to be right about my ID being fake.

Been to most Hannaford markets in southern Maine, and the one in Yarmouth is the best - friendly, clean, good produce, meat, and seafood selection.

Yarmouth Hannaford is very excellent, cashier and manager were exceptional. A lot better than the Forest Ave Hannaford. Friendly and helpful people all the way to the meat department. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there were carts down back by the meat department. Not something that I would have expected.

Hannaford is my preferred supermarket. They have great produce and their meat department and butchers are awesome. Fair prices and you gotta love Hannaford to Go.

I expected Hannaford’s Yarmouth location to be one of the more progressive and trend-savvy of the Hannaford markets in terms of product offerings and variety given its proximity to Portland and South Portland. That’s not the case, however. I was actually quite surprised by how little the market appealed to me. It started with the store’s layout. It has absolutely no discernible flow to it, and the aisles are littered with odd nooks, harsh angles and disjointed segments stocked and blocked with everything but choices. I felt like I was shopping in a giant corner store. Ugh. Never again.

They carry Maine-made foods. Good selection of cheeses. They widened the aisles which is a great thing. Their freezers are lit by body heat. Two things I must live with. First, they provide plastic bags. Second, the automated cashiers that replace people.

They are not limiting the number of customers for good social distancing. It is unsafe to shop there.

Hannaford s is Aewsome

Hannaford is by far my favorite grocery store in greater Portland! The flagship store on Forest Ave is the best of all of them. Occasionally however, I use the To Go service in Yarmouth and that is what is truly receiving the 3 star rating..... The online system, both desktop and mobile, arent great and each have their issues. To boot, in the 10-12 times Ive used the service, there has always been something wrong - occasionally it was an error I made because of the aforementioned technical issues but more often its because the wrong item was picked or a bad substitution was made. And, it often takes 15 minutes between waiting in line or getting the groceries out to me, making me think its really not that convenient.

Has the best fresh sushi even better then some restaurants. Lots of healthy choices even guides on some of the products to help you make healthier choices. Helpful staff

Like other chain groceries, this Hannaford says it requires masks - but does not enforce that rule. Now if I had no shoes? Of course they would enforce that. Its disgusting, their hypocrisy. From now on, Im shopping at Trader Joes, which does enforce masks.

Be warned, your experience shopping here will never be anything but mostly adequate, with a sneaking suspicion that management is paying much closer to the bottom line than to you.The hints? No matter what time of day you arrive, you will always have to stand in line, sometimes for a good length of time, before getting checked out. (I just stood in line for 15 minutes at 745 in the morning, so I literally mean anytime.)You will inevitably find that they will be out of stock of one or more Staples on your list, especially if theyre the most inexpensive variety. For us, this has included walnuts, cheese, fruit, spaghetti, etc.The one exception to this is the staff, which is universally friendly, gracious, and accommodating.Bottom line? Expect regular mild frustration and disappointment, and if you really want excellence, find another store.

I like the selection and prices, even their store brand food. Is just as good of not better than original brand foods. If your looking to save and get certain key items. This is the place to go.

This review may be biased because I work at hannaford pharmacy, but I believe I am correct in saying that hannaford is one of the best supermarkets in maine. Staff is very accommodating and friendly and it has a good atmosphere. There is also hannaford to go which is very useful to people who are very busy and cant fit shopping into their schedules easily

The only real reason youd be looking at a review of Hannaford is if you havent really been and are new to the area looking where to shop, so thats what this review will be directed to. Go here, its great, theres everything you need, from an 8 oz. steak to zzzQuil and more that you wont care to purchase. Hannaford always has been, and always will be my supermarket of choice. The reason this is a 3 star review and is still getting praise is that I hate going here, everyone does, you dont go here and enjoy your time, you go here to spend 100 dollars or so on groceries for your family and leave disgruntled. Its the same reason you hate Walmart, its great, but youll hate it.

Always very organized somewhat understaffed I wish the cheese would be packaged smaller than $9 chunks 3 - $5 would be better love to try the new flavors but if you dont like it $9 is a bit much

Have been shopping various Hannafords in NH and ME for about a decade now, and this is store is consistently not one of, but the worst-managed. The store itself is seldom all that busy, but they keep as few registers open as they can get away with, so almost every night feels like the night before a hurricane -- regular lines backed up into the aisles, and the express lines five or six deep. At least one of the self-checkout registers is always down, and theres no one to support issues with the ones that are open.The stocks of popular items get hollowed out quickly and take days or weeks to replenish. The staff are great, friendly people, but almost all of them are in high school or retirees (i.e. part-time), which means knowledgeable customer service usually just isnt an option. Fresh items (especially produce and seafood) are often not-so-fresh. As with most Hannafords, high prices are common and sales are not. I got my first evidence of a manager on duty tonight, when one followed me out of the store to my car, screaming. For a split second, I panicked, thinking Id inadvertently walked off with something, but it turned out that he was yelling at all the kids gathering grocery carts in the parking lot to get inside to help bag groceries. That was kind of the last straw for me, hence finally writing this review after years of being frustrated with this location.I live in Yarmouth, which for me makes this store almost impossible to avoid, but if youre able to, you absolutely and at all costs should.
