Leah is an extremely talented, experienced seamstress. She has an intuitive sense of what clothing modifications are possible and what will look best on you (and will tell you so!) I trust her every time!

This is an odd place. Specializing on wedding dresses and associated gear, which I cannot comment on.I have used them repeatedly to get clothes altered and Leah is a professional tailor who is good for small as well as big jobs. If you want, she stitches dresses according to a provided pattern from scratch.The place looks a bit run-down and very New Jersey but dont let this deter you. They have no staff other than a daughter working part-time, so dont expect fast turn-around times. But they try to accommodate.

Leah has been doing alterations for me over 10 years. She does amazing work. Just put on the garment and shell fit it so you look amazing!!!!!

The quality of the work is very high here so I cant believe how fair the prices are! The staff is really friendly and will work with you.

Leah is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! She is without a doubt the most talented tailor I have ever seen! Leah was recommended to me by the bridal shop where I purchased my wedding gown after their in-house tailor said the alterations I wanted on my dress were impossible. Two weeks before my wedding I went to see Leah and she was able to create the dress of my dreams. My dress originally had spaghetti straps that Leah was able to remove to make it completely off the shoulder. Several other tailors told me that taking off the straps would ruin the dress, but Leah is SO talented and was able to make it happen! She worked around the delicate 100% silk ruching of the dress perfectly. Whats most impressive about Leahs work is how quickly she was able to do it! My dress was finished in less than a week. I was expecting to go in for multiple fittings, but when I went in for my second fitting the dress was absolutely stunning and fit like a glove. I am forever grateful to Leah for making me the PERFECT wedding dress.

Leah is a master at her craft! I brought my wedding gown to her for alterations and she made me feel very comfortable. She went over what would need to be done step by step and after about 25 minutes I left her shop feeling confident that my dress would be left in great hands! Leah is very professional and honest, I would recommend her to anyone that really wants a professional doing their dresses and clothes done at a very reasonable price. Her prices are the lowest I’ve seen in westchester and her work is top notch. She only charges according to the work she provides unlike other places that have flat fees for even the smallest of alterations. Other places will charge upwards of 800 dollars for work that Leah will do for less that half of the other places I have seen. She is super talented, she works miracles with her hands. She will turn anything into a stunning masterpiece as other places have turned me away because they claim the work is impossible but with one look from Leah she can make the impossible possible. She will tell you straight up how things are unlike other places that will try to sell you more or make more work just to get more money out of you. If it was not for Leah I would not have had my wedding dress fit and look as beautiful as it is. I plan on going back to turn my wedding dress into a christening dress for my baby. I know my children will never wear my dress for their wedding but I can have my baby wear a beautiful dress made from scratch and I can always pass it from one baby to the next instead of having my dress sit in a box for the rest of my life I can now put it to good use. Thank you Leah for everything you have done I highly recommend anyone looking for good honest work done to their dresses and more she will do work to anything not only dresses and she does men’s clothes also! One last thing I would recommend is to call before coming in she hours on google are not always accurate and it’s always better to make an appointment before coming in to get the most out of your visit you would not want to take a trip there just to find the place has closed at 6 instead of 7 and mondays she is actually open but by appointment only so just call so not to have a disappointed trip.

I bought my dress at Virginia’s Bridal in White Plains and while they did 2 alterations for me, Leah did my 3rd and final alteration because Virginia’s bridal had to close due to a relocation. Leah did an absolutely perfect job and my dress fit me like a glove! She bustled it up perfectly as well which made it easy for my bridesmaids to help me bustle it up during the wedding party! Leah is very honest and people may not like her style but she knows what she’s doing. Originally I was going to wear a strapless bra with my dress but Leah told me not to wear one and altered my dress perfectly so no bra was necessary and I looked great and felt comfortable! Now I’ve heard people feel uncomfortable with her suggestions, so at the end of the day, speak up and she will go with what you want - you are paying for the services! However, normally, Leah knows what she is talking about and what she’s doing.

I wish I would have read the reviews before taking my dress to get altered by Leah. The negative reviews are all TRUE! She is extremely rude and charged astronomical prices for a rushed fitting and simple alterations. I would NOT recommend! I went to her because of a recommendation from my mother-in-laws friend stating that she was reasonable and does a good job. So I took a bridesmaid dress to her that I got on Amazon, happy that I found a dress at a reasonabe price that only needed hemmed and maybe some work on the bust to make it a little more modest. She quoted me $145, which is insane for the simple work that needed done, and especially since the hem of the dress was a raw edge which wouldnt need restitched! So I asked her for a cost breakdown to see where the ridiculous price was coming from, and she became angry, arrogantly stating that I have to pay for her talents. She went down to $125 but wouldt budge further. Unfortunately, because I needed the work done fairly quickly (although still outside of her rush fee time frame), I stupidly left the dress with her anyway. The next day I decided to call and tell her not to do the work and that I was going to pick up the dress, but she claimed she already started working on it. Who knows if that was true or not. So be forewarned, I dont know if she has any kind of structured pricing or if she just thinks up numbers to see what she can get away with, though I suspect the latter. Her website lists no pricing details. Lets hope shes not purposefully sloppy on my dress, as Im still waiting for it. Wish I would have tried to get other quotes. Definitely would not recommend!

Found the perfect wedding dress off the rack. Off prices! Bride lit up w/happiness when she tried it on. This amazing shop solved our quickie wedding dress hunt.

Stopped off to get a quote on my moms gown. Wanted simple alterations about 1/2 inch taken in on each side of bodice area about four inches in length on each side of bodice. And a hem. She quoted me $145 plus tax WHICH IS RIDICULOUS. It was clearly overcharging. I have gotten many things altered and done many myself. It was a $50 dollar job at the most. The Asian cleaners quoted $50. She was also very rude. I told her I wanted my moms hem covering shoes and she argued telling me that I’m putting my moms life at risk saying That older people need their shoes to show. WILL NEVER RECOMMEND. SUGGEST YOU GET A PRICE FROM TWO LOCATIONS BEFORE COMING HERE SO SHE DOESNT TRY TO OVERCHARGE. She tried to charge more expensive than what seamstress at David’s Bridal charged for my daughters wedding gown.

Horrible! Leah and her employees did not lift a finger to help me choose a dress, try it on, carry it over, or anything. They didnt even provide us with clips to fit the dresses. Leah was rude to my bridesmaids and yelled at them because they touched the veils; meanwhile we had to do everything ourselves. They only allow you to try on 3 dresses and had a small selection. The mirror for viewing the dress was small and you couldnt see the back unless the dressing room across from it was open. They did not allow my future mother in law use the bathroom! I do not recommend this place at all.

I would NOT recommend Leah to anyone! She RUINED my gown FOUR DAYS before my daughters wedding and REFUSED to pay me the full amount the dress cost. She was trying to get me to take a used dress instead. In the mist of Leah altering my gown, she got a stain on it and when I pointed it out, she was trying to say it was there all along. Which it was NOT. Leah sent it to her cleaners, which I believe is her company. Well, whoever cleaned my gown, melted all the bead work into the dress, which left over a hundred marks on it. All Leah and her husband kept saying was that there wasnt a tag inside the dress to say how to clean. WELL, IF YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW TO CLEAN, THEN DONT TOUCH IT! Leah was very nasty and never paid me full price for my dress! I cried for days and had to purchase (NOT FROM HER) another gown, which was not as fancy as my original gown. Thank You Leah for making the days before my daughters wedding HELL!!!!!

It is one thing to give your customer a professional opinion that their ideas would not work, but this should be done with tact and courtesy.

Leah pinned the dress and started to remove a bow so as to begin alterations, despite the fact that my fiance only wanted a price quote. Through these actions, the dress became torn in an area of mesh fabric. No remedy for this was offered, except for doing the alterations that my fiance was quoted.When I expressed to Leah my dissatisfaction with this customer service experience, I did not encounter somebody that was interested in rectifying the situation and earning my business. Instead, Leah complained about my fiance, claiming that she never requested a price. This is a bold-faced lie, and is an insult to my fiance, suggesting that she be so illogical as to ask for alterations to begin without first knowing how much the services would cost. She made no further attempt to treat me as a potential customer, instead raising her voice to rationalize her behavior and dismiss my concerns.I strongly recommend against going to this seamstress. If you feel that you must due to prices or location, be forewarned; make yourself as explicit as possible, and be prepared for a potentially terrible experience in which you appear to be more of a bother to the business than a valued customer.The conclusion of this saga was a trip to the nearby Gangemi custom tailors for the alterations. The difference in service was astounding, and we were very pleased with Gangemi.
