I was introduced to Bluestone by a friend of mine. This store very quickly became my choice place for transfers and orders.Jeff is very friendly and very knowledgeable. For an attached-to-home store, it’s amazing how much product he has. His prices are better than most of the big retail stores. This shop is definitely worth checking out.

Stopped in to make my first firearm purchase recently and was looking for something to conceal carry. I was greeted and given some information on different firearms and decided on a Springfield Hellcat. I was given a really fair price for everything I needed. I will definitely be coming back for any future purchases

Easy 5 out of 5! Just found this place on Google maps today and stopped in for some ammo. Owner was super friendly and one of the only honest gun shops around anymore. Maintaining plenty of stock and keeping his prices fair. Only got ammo today, but will be one of my first stops next time Im in the market for a firearm.

I remember this person from a previous business he had. He was the absolute rudest, condescending and lying person I have ever met in my life. I would never give him one penny. Unbelievable that people continue to keep him in business when there are so many other individuals that are deserving.

Called them the day before. Guy was very friendly and helpful. Decided to take my son over and check the place out. It was a little busy. With two guys behind the counter. I was asking about pricing for .308 ammo. The other guy started shouting you can’t use that for hunting. Funny I never said it was for hunting. He kept telling me you can’t use fmj for hunting. Yeah no kidding. Anyway. I hope he sells the Ruger American I was going to buy this evening to someone else.Updated. There was no cursing. And yes we just came in from doing some small game hunting. Hence you made the assumption I was getting the ammo for hunting. Here’s a tip don’t assume your smarter than your customers. Best of luck with your business.

Jeff helped me put together an upper receiver while some of my tools were in storage. It turned out looking great. Really good work. Him and his team are super nice, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I highly recommend checking them out for all your firearm needs.

I am a first time customer of this business and I couldnt be more pleased with my experience there! Jeff (the gun shop owner) was great to deal with, knowledgeable, forthright and just, plainly spoken, an honest man. I was in his shop twice in the same day, first time to just check out his selection (and both my brother and I were very happy with both the variety and condition of the used guns for sale, as well as, the new guns on display). Once Jeff explained about his available gunsmithing services, I left a Para Ordnance P13-45 with him for various, very reasonably priced, gunsmithing services. At that first visit, my brother spotted a new 1894 Marlin in 44 Magnum with beautiful curly maple wood. As I love lever action rifles, I was really excited to see that one! I came back to Jeffs store later that same evening with two (2) handguns to trade towards that new Marlin. Jeff very patiently explained the reasoning behind his offer on my two (2) handguns and, long story short, I left his shop with that new Marlin. As I stated earlier, I couldnt be happier with my experience at Bluestone Firearms, and the shop dog is a sweetheart too! I will definitely be back to do more business with Jeff.

So I walked I this afternoon and this is how the exchange went after 3 other guys began to leave:Guy behind the counter: Can I help you.Me: Yeah Im looking for a pistol, 9 mm, even used.Guy: No used.He said something else, not friendly at all. But one of the guys who left cam back in and asked me to move my car so they could leave as its just a driveway and I had to park behind him. I thought I might as well leave to since it seemed like I was just bothering the guy behind the counter and he had better things to do than talk to me.

I went to his shop and he was beyond helpful showing me options for what fit my needs. Extremely knowledgeable and willing to educate.

I had called the shop asking if they had any 223 ammo he replied “duh we are a gun shop” guy I had talk to had an attitude right from the start will be doing my sporting goods shopping elsewhere I do not recommend this place at all.

Guns are over priced, customer service is awful. My mother called to see if they had a certain firearm for sale and the owner asked if she was purchasing it and she said that my stepdad was coming in to look at it and to possibly purchase it, then whoever was on the phone (I believe it was the owner) went to say arrogantly “this isn’t a hangout spot; he can come but you cannot. What kind of customer service is that? This is why we took our business elsewhere and however they conduct this organization will lead to their demise if they keep acting like this. Respect your customers please. After all, we are the ones who put the food on your table.

Ive been a customer of Jeffs for about four years now. There are good and bad things about Bluestone, and Ive experienced both.Pros:Location. There isnt much in the way of convenient gun shops in the eastern York area, and this hits the mark there quite well.Transfer Price. Cheapest around.Small shop atmosphere. Typically, the folks here are very cordial in the mom and pop kind of feel.Cons:Selection. Given its a smaller shop there typically isnt all too much physically on site. He says he has access to everything you could ever want, but fact of the matter is any shop can order something in. He does however get some rare and interesting pieces in from time to time, which is nice.Communication. Very often he fails to notify that FFL has been sent or that a gun has arrived. Hell swear up and down that he does so flawlessly and on time, but my own personal records show a total of 12 failures to notify and 10 successes, a rate of less than half.Attitude. This is the big one. While usually polite enough, Jeff has a tendency of being rude and condescending whenever you dont agree with everything he says, and he does like to boast. He also loves to play the I own a gun shop and you dont, so Im correct card. For example, when Id pointed out that a legal barrel length does not include a muzzle device unless it is permanently attached via pin/weld or solder, he told me I was wrong, and would not listen to any evidence to the contrary. Not only is that incorrect, but dangerous in that it spreads misinformation which could land someone with a felony for illegal SBR manufacture. The tipping point for me was when I tried to tell him that I couldnt reach him by phone, even sharing an audio recording of the error. He threw a small fit and blocked me. I know I will be rebuked by Jeff for this but here goes anyway. As far as his shop and his knowledge, I would rate him an easy 4.5 to 5. The problem is your attitude Jeff, you need some serious work on your customer relations!! I called you twice concerning my guns, once was a return call to you regarding the left hand rifle you called me about the day before. I called today, because the last time you did work for me, I had to call you to find out they had been done for awhile but you didnt call me. I apologize for my language, and wish you nothing but the best! You need to show some respect to customers. Response to your reply, I called you once on Thursday the 5th to reply to your phone call the previous day. I asked if you had picked any scopes out yet. You replied no you were not in the shop Wednesday. I left it at that. I called you this morning Monday the 9th to ask if my guns were ready. You replied quote (you are really jonesing for these guns, I am going to put whatever I have in the shop on them and you will be picking them up today.)I thought about that for a minute and decided I wasnt going to accept your arrogance. So I called a 3rd time to tell you never mind,I will be by to pick them up. And as I stated in my original review, the last time you had my guns, I had to call you because you didnt call me when they were ready. And by the way I dropped them off on Monday the 2nd. Again Jeff wish you the best, but when you talk to someone like you did me, what kind of response do you expect.

A little disappointed, took my son in law for possible purchase but kind of got treated a little different.

I had a casing stuck in my chamber, not only did Jeff get it out but was very knowledgeable about the ammunition and the firearms he had! Its one thing to buy a firearm from a place but to get knowledge as well is something else.

The prices are rock bottom even on brand new firearms. Bluestone doesnt have the inventory of a massive gunshop but they can get you anything on youd ever want. The owner Jeff isnt pushy and actually wants you there compared to some other stores Ive dealt with. I walked out of there with only a box of ammo but Bluestone Firearms just found a customer for life.

I have visited several times to Jeffs shop and have used him as an FFL for shipments. He is fair, knowledgeable and respectful every time Im there. I have been belittled by shops in the past and never once has Jeff ever shown any behavior like that. He is a straight forward man which might be what rubs some people the wrong way. His shop all though small square foot wise has many options for firearms, accessories and ammo and he is more then willing to order or hunt down any thing you need. It is also organized better then some shops with twice the room. If a good hand full of customers show up the parking can get interesting but I have never had an issue myself. I now live over 30 mins away from Bluestone and still frequent Jeff for my firearm needs.I definitely would recommend Bluestone Firearms!

Met Jeff a couple months ago doing a transfer. Seemed OK, but bad mouthed several York gun shops without any prompting from me. I called to check his inventory of 9mm carbines that I was shopping for, but he only had one model in stock (but “tell me what model you want and I can have it here from my warehouse in 2 or 3 days”). So I shopped around, handled a few and called back to place my order. He was such a complete and total jerk on the phone that as I was driving to his shop to give a cash deposit, I literally pulled to the side of the road, called another shop and placed the order. It was only $16. more, but so worth it. Customer service modeled after the ‘soup Nazi’. I can’t imagine dealing with him if I made a purchase and there was a problem with a firearm that I needed his help with.*UPDATE*Nice spin Jeff. My memory, and phone records, show that I called you one time June 11 to ask about 9mm PCC’s. You told me you had one(1) in the shop, and gave me the model # so I could look at it online. I shopped and handled a few at other shops, and called you back June 13 to re check your inventory (because you said you sell so many guns that inventory changes every day) and to place my order for the Ruger I decided on. I did not have the specific model number, so I checked online, and called back about 5 minutes later with that information for you. I’m a normal guy and a straight shooter, but my 3 phone calls and few simple questions were clearly annoying to you.You’re proud of your shop and your prices; I get that. The three shops you bad mouthed the one and only time we met, I’ve made purchases from. One of the shops you referenced, you said the owner has been trying to sell for years, and he hates people. This place was nothing short of an awful experience. The guy Jeff (who seemed to be running the place) was as unknowledgeable as he was rude. I went there with a pocket full of cash and the left with nothing but a bitter taste in my mouth. How someone so incompetent could operate a business is beyond me. If zero was an option, that would be my rating for this business.
