Friendly staff and clean store. Had what we were looking for. Could have used a larger selection of home defense shotgun ammo, but other than that, will be back.

Thanks to NASCAR and Gander Outdoors partnership! I visited the York, PA store today. What a great bunch of outstanding dedicated employees! I can t thank Marcus Lemonis and family enough for their vision, family atmosphere, and support of our great sport.

Glad I stopped in. As far as prices go, they are good depending on what your looking for. Also selection is good depending on what your looking for. If you like gun/rifle parts, gun/camping/hunting tools, ammo, and stuff like that than this place is GREAT. I saw plenty of stuff there that I am only able to buy online. One example is the AVID brand of Gunsmithing tools. Ive been to plenty of places and I have NEVER saw them. The ONLY place Ive ever seen them was online. The prices on those were spot on. Final thing, if you are in the military and show an ID you get there membership for $10/year. Thats over %60 off. Good job guys with helping those that serve this country. Ignore every review, including mine and check it out for yourself.

This is a decent store with a decent selection, like many chain stores their prices seem a little steep. Working with a few of the staff was a mixed bag. Floor employees were nothing special. Several employees back by firearms were much more knowledgeable and seemed much better suited to help and give accurate info. Overall decent store decent people decent review 😀

Immensely better since the change of ownership/franchise. Good selection of hunting and fishing equipment, average selection of firearms and ammunition for a big box store, and all the camping/sporting essentials needed for a good time at camp (or home, whichever you prefer!). Checkout lanes can be a little sluggish from time to time but its not a deal breaker. The Good Sam Club is totally worth it if you shop at Gander often and can deal with mail from the Good Sam headquarters. Totally worth checking out since the rework.

I went here after trying and failing to find hiking boots and a winter jacket that were to my liking. I also had to take a peek at the available kayaking gear. I was not impressed, or amused. Their selection is rather slim...on everything. It feels like theyre trying to cram too much into too little space. Lets not forget that the general set up of the store isnt conducive of being able to actually find things, or to maximize space. This is one of the more haphazard store plans Ive ever seen. Anyway...about these so called sales. I think its super cute when a store has all of these great sales, and then you look at the price tag and realize that everything is overpriced by at least 30 bucks. My brother loves this store...I think that they leave a lot to be desired, and wont be returning ((UNLESS)) Im in dire need of something that only they carry, and I cant wait for it to ship from Amazon. Disappointed.

Good selection. Fair prices (they will price match other brick and motor stores) about average to high average staff for a box box store. If you havent been there I would suggest checking it out and deciding for yourself what to think of it.

The staff was much more polite than the old staff. The layout of the store was much better as well. Better lighting and easier to find items. They also had things that matched up more with the local area.

Nice store they did a good job at remodeling versus the Gander Mountain of before. I bought some 22LR shells that didnt come up with price of website but they corrected for me. Enjoyed the free hot dog before shopping. Ill join the Good Sam club but they really push it to join.

Very good selection of warm water species lures, rods, reels, and gadgets. Decent selection of fly tying material and hooks. Very little fly fishing tackle. Just a few low end rods and reels. Flies overpriced for quality. Good outdoor clothing selection.

Since the new owner/management take over the store is cleaner and better lit from my previous experiences. Selection is decent for a chain store and prices are average to slightly below. Employees dont seems to ask if you need assistance but will help if you ask, at least in the several visits i have made so far.

Ive bought many firearms here, as well as my first handgun. The staff are attentive and listen to what you are looking for, and are quick to offer their own perspectives--which is nice! They also do not swoop down on you as soon as you start looking at a weapon. When you get that inquisitive look on your face, theyre there to help! Quick, awesome, helpful. and friendly; just the way staff should be. Every time Im there to buy a gun, John is almost always there--just a super awesome associate who knows his stuff.

Great selection and stock of hunting and fishing gear. A few years back, many outdoor stores drastically cut back their stock of hunting and fishing gear, while exponentially increasing quantities of camping, hiking, biking, and sports gear. To Gander does not do that, to my delight. I was delightedly surprised at the large amount of hunting and fishing gear on their shelves. Their prices are also very reasonable.

Good selection of merchandise, but not always a good selection of sizes. I was shopping mainly for sneakers and some styles had just a few sizes available. Also bought some jeans and found the same thing, popular sizes really picked through. But, the store brand jeans wear well and Ive had several pairs of Gander Mountain shoes that have worn very well. Sale prices are very good.

Very kind staff! After visiting this store from the West coast I was very happy to see the southern style hospitality that they showed at this store. Extremely helpful and great prices. Considering the store just opened, they are doing a great job and Im sure the longer they stay open the better their product selection will get.

First time there. Cool store. Less one star for the ton of bullets right out in the open where kids can knock em all over. Cant say I care for the maze-like isle layout either bit thats definitely not a deal breaker.

Prices are slightly higher than local averages. The staff seems really nice, they have a greay selection of firearms, clothing and outdoor equipment. Only gave 4 stars due to the prices. Over all a good store.

I have been to the Gander Outdoors in York, PA several times. I have always been treated very well by all employees there. I returned today to seek help with an issue I was having with a handgun I purchased there many months ago. One of the employees, Keith, took quite a bit of time to assist me with figuring out what, according to the manual, should have been an easy fix. (This is after an armorer at my old police department couldnt figure it out) We eventually got it worked out. I offered to pay him for his time, buy his lunch, or pay any fee to cover his efforts. He simply thanked me for coming in, and for the education we both got. This is just one example of how I have always been treated there, and why I will always be a customer. Oh, and despite comments in other reviews, I have never found any of their prices to be exceptionally high or otherwise unreasonable.

I dont normally leave bad reviews, but wow! I walked in planning to get my hunting and fishing licenses. I decided to walk around the various departments and passed by numerous employees, none of which as much as said hello. I finally made my way to the unmanned counter where they sell the licenses, and stood there for roughly five minutes. One older gentleman did walk over behind the counter and messed with some things, but again did not acknowledge my presence. The first time anyone said anything to me was on my way out, when the young man at the register asked how I was and said too bad we didnt have anything for you to leave with. Yep..damn shame!

I dig this place. Good selection with some higher-end gear. Sale racks have always produced well for me. Found some great deals.

It wasnt as good as I thought it would be. I did not like the idea that they carry assault rifles there this is supposed to be a hunting and fishing and outdoor thing theres no need for an assault rifle for hunting youre not going to assault a dear youre not going to shoot 30 bullets into a deer or bear youre going to shoot those into people and theres no place for that kind of firearm

Gander mt. is the perfect size store for the outdoor enthusiast. It has everything you need for affordable prices. Also, since it isnt as big as Cabelas or Bass Pro Shop, you are helped by their cheerful staff almost right away!

Went to store to buy hip boots .they had one pair in size 11 .opened them up and the where a used pair with mud on the soles. So I checked out a pair of chest waders they had no size 11 but a size 12. Opened them up and there was a tear in the side of boot.glad I looked before I purchased. Got on line when I got home and you cant buy them online because there web page has no size to choose from. I never liked this store but I have a 50.00 gift card for there. So Ill go to field and stream for my boots and wait to hunting season to use the gift card

Great store. Recommend getting the Sams perks. Then you save up to 20% on store merchandise on top of sale prices as well as save at other stores.

Poorly trained firearm staff appraised two Smith & Wesson revolvers I brought in and then would not honor their appraisal one and a half hours later the same day. At first my firearms were rated at 90% to 95% good condition on the return trip they were rated at 80% when they never left the Box after being appraise the first time and Ray the general manager of the York Pennsylvania store was of no help at all and at times was condescending and rude when I asked him to look into the appraisal I was giving one and a half hours earlier that day. Id advise anyone interested in selling a used firearm to go to a real gun shop and anybody interested in purchasing one should do their own homework because these employees should be flipping burgers not handling firearms two out of three of them didnt seem to know the difference between a revolver and a pistol or Hammer fired pistol vs. Striker fired handgun. Have never dealt with less knowledgeable or helpful people in any gun store in the area. So I once again advised everyone to steer clear and let real experts at real guns shops deal with all your firearm needs.

Just found out today that the York PA Gander has been closed for 3 weeks. No notice or advertising of its closure. After researching, I discovered that it all had to do with the unavailability to sell and service RVs. I will never shop Gander again at any store nor online. TVs? Really? Speaks aloft about that owner, Lemonis, the Camping World owner. There is more to an Outdoor store then camping. Lemonis, you are a self absorbed loser with no care for your customers. I will never make a purchase from anyplace you hold ownership.

Bought crossbow from store. After 20-30 shots the limbs started to split. Took to store to exchange since I bought the warranty. Was told to go home read my owners manual and call manufacturer for warranty issue. Since they dont have any in stock to exchange.UpdateStore still doesnt have any crossbows in stock. But was given a full refund for bow and warranty.

People there helped a lot in my search and even gave me great insight on how to use my fishing rod great

Looks like they carry some better name brand items. Although if they plan on staying in business they need to adjust their pricing. They seem to charge full suggested retail.

I’ve gone to this location many times and every time the staff makes me and my wife feel extremely uncomfortable and they are extremely pushy about there club program if I say I’m not interested I don’t need to be asked multiple more times and nagged, I also should be able to shop and not be constantly bothered, poor selection as well for the area we live

Prices are ok. Staff is either nonexistent or every 3 seconds you are asked if you need help. I prefer an in the middle. Fishing gear is what I purchase. For guns and ammo, I support small business that supports the product after the sale.

The associate Devan helped me find hiking shoes at the store. She was extremely dedicated, helpful, and informative! She stayed with me until I decided to order online from the store. She even helped order my shoes. My Dad and I were grateful to Devan for a wonderful, pleasant experience.

My husband got a great net for cat fishing there. Download coupons from their website. READ INSTRUCTIONS AND TELL YOUR WIFE HOW TO USE IT. DONT BLAME HER FOR LOSING YOUR FISH.

Much different experience than the old Gander Mountain. Refreshing change and worth the stop in if your into the outdoor experience.

I used to visit Gander Mountain all the time when they were still in business. They have a lot of variety of equipment for just about any type of outdoor sports including shooting camping fishing and more. It was a shame when Gander Mountain went out of business, however, its nice to see Gander Outdoors back in Action. This particular store is very small compared to a lot of them and the selection is not as plentiful as some of the other stores, however, there is some selection and the prices are on par with what Gander Mountain was before all this happened.

This location is fine as far as products and associates. The store itself is nice enough enough, although I think there is lots of competition from others in the prices.

My kind of Toys store. Out door stuff..

Rebranded Gander Mountain. Less of an emphasis on hunting and fishing, more general outdoor activities like hiking, moubtain biking, kayaking, backpacking, and camping. Would rate 5 stars but they seem to push the Good Sam membership really hard. Also, expect to pay full retail prices. Think, REI without the giving back to its members and preservation of the outdoors narrative.

This is supposed to be a store based off of Camping World they have very little camping supplies last year about this time I was told they would be getting more camping stuff in a year later Im still told the same thing not cool in my opinion

When I shopped at their predecessor Gander Mountain, I always thought the prices were absolutely rediculous. I got less of a sense of that at Gander Outdoors. Dont get me wrong, some prices are still sky high just not all of.them. For example, I am a trap shooter, and they have 12 ga. target loads for less than Walmart. However I saw a pocket knife that I paid $40 for, selling for $75. Same brand, same model. Just sayin...
