Bought 10 pounds of coins and 5 envelopes of paper money. There had to be at least a pound of just Rwanda and Venezuela coins and at LEAST another pound of JUST Mexican coins. The exact same ones. Just a TON of repeats. I knew going in there would be a lot of repeats but its just insane. I bought 50 paper bills and 25% of them are duplicates. No excuse for that. Plus one of the bills wasnt even money, just a card for food stamps from china. Not a happy customer.

He included in my order a separate bag with a handful of those coins specifically. Fantastic transaction! I have a love for foreign coins and collect them for the art. I ordered a few pounds of mixed lot bulk foreign coins for the joy of sorting through it and admiring the pieces. I had noted on the order a few types that I am more interested in and Steinmetz was kind enough to include a handful of them in their own little bag! Very cool!

Went here based on all the positive google reviews and was not disappointed. I walked in maybe a half hour before they closed and was greeted by a friendly couple who gave me a more than fair deal on selling some gold bullion coins. They offered me a little more than what another shop had quoted. They were lovely to chat to, and the whole process could not have been quicker or easier. They even looked at my family flatware which ended up being silver plate. You guys are great, keep up the good work, and thanks for a fair deal in what might otherwise be a strange market to the general public.

We liquidated my in-laws coin collection. After going to 3 different dealers, we found that the Steinmetz team treated us the best. Being unfamiliar with coins and their value, Mike and the rest of the employees knew we were a one-time customer and treated us with respect and made us feel comfortable during our visits. I would recommend using them if you have this type of need.

They are very good about being honest and fair with there customers. They will Not rip you off!! My daughter used to work for them and she said thats the only place anyone should ever go to. If you dont understand why the price is different than what you thought it would be, dont be afraid to ask. They will explain it to you so you understand. Ive asked him to explain something to me over 3 times, and he patiently explained it to me until I totally understood it. Just check the hours before you go because theyre closed at certain times and they close at noon on Saturday and I think Wednesday. So dont make a trip without knowing those things. Hope you enjoy your visit and are able to sell your coins. You can check to see what the price of silver or gold on the internet because the prices literally change minute to minute. So you want to get the best price, again just call Steinmetz and ask what that amount is and if its gone up or down. Theres a shop in York PA off My. Rose Ave, right off Edgewood Rd. The other one is in Lancaster PA. Sorry I dont know the exact address, its off RT 30. You can see the sign from 30.

I have to say, after having been to the store myself, it was a shame to read these prior reviews. I for one very much enjoy that the owner has his little dog in the store, I love animals and it is a well behaved pet. I was treated well by the employees, and would definitely recommend this store to friends. What people need to realize is that it is indeed a BUSINESS, they are in operation to make a profit- therefore, you should not expect to buy an item and be able to sell it immediately for a profit yourself when you leave. Be smart- take your items to multiple places for appraisal, call around to different shops if you dont feel like driving. Steinmetz was knowledgeable and helpful during my visit, and I found they paid the best for my items.

Worst coin shop ever. this guy will under mind you and play you for stupid. stereo type you and treat you like a criminal.uses red book to price his coins which priced the coin about 100. over what i knew it was worth. told him what the grey sheet priced it at and he tells me there is no such thing as a grey sheet and i had no clue what i was talking about.his loss, went to his competitor and got what i was after for way cheaper and they were happy to take my 600. along with his competitors enlightening me to more concerns about this guy.do your resarch and ask around about this dude before you buy from him

Ive been to this shop twice and love it! Ill definitely be going back. The staff, friendly & courteous, assisted me with my transactions in a very professional manner and I left a very satisfied customer both times. I enjoyed talking with the folks & checking out their silver bullion, coins & supplies. They also buy & sell gold but, being a man of modest means, Im happy to limit my play with the poor mans gold, silver:-) In contrast, my experience at a certain coin & collectible store in Lemoyne was the complete opposite & I never even stepped foot in their store (and never will either)! I merely called to make an inquiry and was all but verbally assaulted over the phone by a very angry & unhappy douchbag, LOL!! Ill be doing all my business at Steinmetz based on my own experience, thank you very much:-)

Extremely nice and very honest about things.

I had gone to the store in York, and overall i had a very good experience. Besides the dog they had just wondering freely around the shop, the service was great. Inside the store was not very nice, and a lot of things they had to sell were just sitting randomly on top of the cases the expensive coins were sitting in. If you looked over the counter to where their desks are and their inventory, it was very messy. I noticed lots of coins just sitting in bags, and looked like a tornado ran through the shop. Not very neat in here, but i guess it doesnt NEED to be because most people that go in just buy coins. The service was the best aspect of it, expecting poor service judging by the comments below. They were very friendly, a woman and I believe the son of the owner, always ready to help me when I wanted to see something. As soon as I walked in, the lady asked me if there was anything in particular I wanted to purchase or sell. When I stated I was only shopping around, she also asked if she could get anything out, and said no again. She was very polite and emphasized she would be ready to help me and pull anything out for me to look at. After looking through the cases for a while I became more curious so I had asked her to pull out the nickels, dimes, and quarters. I study old coins at home, and learned lots about them. I also have many questions about coins, such as the histroy behind it, and who I believe to have been the son, gave me lots of information. He also shared random important things about coins with me, without asking. I have a useful website bookmarked on my phone that I was able to use while in the shop, showing how much any coin, and year is worth. I became very interested in the Seated Liberty Dime, and the Shield Nickel. Some of these coins were very expensive. I dont know enough about coins to make this a bold statement, but I believe some of these coins prices were a bit greedy. But I was there for the cheap coins. The Seated Liberty Dime was only $15, and after searching on the website on my phone, found out it is worth about $15-20. After finding that out I was very pleased and comfortable paying that price, and did purchase the coin. Also, the shield nickel was $27, and on the website it was listed as $25. Because of the great price on the Seated Liberty Dime, and my understanding for them needing to make profit and pay bills/employees, etc., I again came to the conclusion it was a good, not great, price, but one I was able to pay. After my experience, I will definately be returning, and I recommend this shop for coin collectors just starting, and also coin collectors looking for specific or expensive/rare coins.
