Star Supply is a best kept local secret. If your eccentric tinkering Dad could imagine a store to spend a couple of hours in... this is that daydream. Today, I saw butcher block countertop pieces there, wallets made from recycled rubber, anti-fatigue mats, and big bags of marbles... I bought 3/8 cotton cord for making a coiled rag rug (100 feet for 8$), and heavy washers for use as fabric weights in my sewing studio. I also found a heavy duty set of casters for my cutting table. But what makes this place 100% fantastic are the hilarious little signs over each unusual little pile of items... Dad will love it, so will Mom, Uncle Fester, Pugsly and Wednesday. Classic Youngstown!

Love shopping here! They always have a good selection of whatever nuts and bolts you need. Plus they are always getting different stuff in. Need vinyl lattice? How about a window or door for your house? Trim board? Expanded metal? Aluminum or steel angle, tube, plate? Tires for your mower? Pillows for your outdoor patio? Counter tops for your kitchen? Theyve got all that and much, much more! Even if you dont need anything (youll find something!) Stop and look around as you never know what youll find!

OMG! Im in LOVE! THIS is an AWESOME store! Ive driven by many times, wanting to stop but never having the time to actually do it. I had time to kill so I stopped by, and Im sooooo glad I did! I was greeted at the door by several energetic employees... When I told them it was my first time there, they were all kinds of excited to give me good info. A plethora of items to behold... I SWEAR I got *whiplash* just looking around (astonished) at all they had to offer! The prices? FANTASTICAL!Seriously, though, visit this store. The employees are awesome, great selection of items, and VERY affordable prices! Give yourself at LEAST a half-hour to peruse the aisles and endcaps. I promise, you will NOT be disappointed!!!!

Its good store to visit if u are looking for things to make repairs on a house or other things they salvage left over items from other places stuff is cheaper if u can find it there I went there to have keys made they charge .90 cents to make a house key a car key was $1.40 they have big inventory so u have to go and look around

We always find something useful at a great price when we take a trip up to Star Supply! Sometimes its completely random nothing you planned on grabbing and of course theyre always good for supplies you do need for a better price! The store is dusty and full of stuff and perfect for what it is!

This Place Is The Absolute best! Ill drive from Columbus to get stuff from them because the prices are so good and they have such unique selection. Its a really clean store and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Theres a hint of army surplus in a good way not in a do you want to by a black market MIG 15 kind of way. I always look down every aisle because have so many little hidden gems that you didnt know you need. I cant say enough nice things about this place. The world needs more stores like this.

They have so much stuff here. The person who makes signs has a sense of humor and can think of oddball things to do with the assortment of stuff they have. Before we begin any home-improvement projects we stop there to see if they have items in stock that will be able to be used for an incredibly reduced price. When I taught middle school and our children were building vehicles for a creativity competition, we would stop there because they had so many things that could be adapted. They had table tops and paneling and doors and hardware and cabinets and you name it.

Were redoing the laundry room. If this countertop works ( size) I will have saved over $100! Going home to measure. Also spied some cabinet doors that might work. Worth while to check them out if you like to D.I.Y. I bought two little toys for $2.00. I understand inventory changes, so we will be going back on and off to see what they have.

This is a fun place to come to look for hardware, construction, and craft odds and ends. Its a large surplus store and everything is well organized. If you are looking for something specific, they can usually help you find it or help you figure out where to get it.

Got keys made great price and fast. Reasonable prices on supplies for repairs or upgrades for your home. Got good deal on pillows for my couch. Bought a rake also for 10 bucks.

There is not a better hard wear store in a 100 miles. I dont travel to youngstown as often as i used to but i always try and stop when Im in the area just to see whats new. This is hands down one of the best places to buy windows if your looking for a replacement.

Purchased full set of kitchen cabinets and paid in full in advance and the cabinets arrived within a few days. We decided to purchase 3 more cabinets to put in an island, so two weeks ago tomorrow I purchased them, again paying in full in advance. When I ordered I asked about lead time and was told that it would take a week or two at the most. Tomorrow is 2 weeks, and no cabinets. I inquired by phone and first they told me point blank, we will call you when the cabinets are in without even getting my information. It was like they wanted to get me off the phone. Then I spoke with Carla who I was told is the manager and she explained that if I read their brochure orders can take a minimum of 10 days. I proceeded to try to explain that when I ordered them they said it would be within 2 weeks and that given their deliveries are on Tuesday and Thursday, and the granite supplier is coming out on Tuesday at 2 pm to measure, I wanted to know if they could find out exactly if the cabinets will be in on this coming Tuesday. Before I could finish explaining Carla interrupted me and said, You arent hearing what I am saying, and gave me an explanation of what business days are and how Saturday is not a business day. No kidding! I already know that. Point is I have been a customer of Star Supply for a long time and I have never been treated so condescendingly. Purchases from customers like me help pay Carlas salary and we should not be treated in that fashion. I asked if she could call and verify that our cabinets would be in on the Tuesday truck but she said that her boss Jodi, who was not in until Monday, would have to do that. Carla never offered to have Jodi call me, or take any message. I am very disappointed and I am sure they will lose a lot of business with this attitude.

The place to go for all building or craft needs. Great place. Worth a visit just to check out the inventory and prices. We bought our countertops there 10 years ago and we do a lot of cooking in our kitchen, and they still look brand new. They have almost everything here at great deals.

The only store of the this type i know of within 300 miles. you never know what you will find here, from random plastic mass produced throw aways, to trailer hitches. also a reliable supply of cheap cabinet - window - trim supplies.

Star Supply has a variety of materials. As an artist, there are plenty of buyout items to be used in a creative way. Suggestion: if you see it and like it purchase it because it may not be available on the second visit.

As a DIYer, I very much enjoy browsing the aisles at Star Supply. They have a bit of everything you can imagine from electric motors to counter tops. They have windows, doors, chairs, chains, tools, home decor, machinery, metal sheets, bars, nails, screws, lighting, surplus, overstock, closeouts, etc.... Some items they always have, many items are limited due to the nature of their business. I try to get back every couple weeks just to see what they have this week. Sometimes I find things I didnt know I needed until I see them. Some of the unique items I have personally bought are bowling pins, traffic light lenses, foam sheets, duct tape ( several colors ), grinder and sander accessories. Check out their ever changing stock and take the time to read the many comically satirical product description signs. Its worth the trip.

What an experience and a treasure this place is. I took my wife and kids in here because our old gas furnace needed a replacement blower, the belt-driven one had about died and I thought Id seen them here before. I snapped a pic of the electric motor placard and matched up the best I could on a newer-style direct drive blower, used for only $40. I was hesitant but I sorted out the wiring and wired it up and to my pleasant surprise it works even better than the old belt-drive unit and is so much quieter.My kids, of course, were interested in the toys that looked like surplus from something or other and lady, who appeared to be maybe an owner or manager, was over-the-top kind enough to give each of my kids a nice toy dump truck. They were excited for days afterward and it means a lot to me as a parent that someone would be kind enough to make a little gesture such as that for my kids instead of being upset that there are little kids touching all over the merchandise.Ill continue to go back here because more often than not I find things that I didnt even realize I needed!

I was there the salesman didnt help me at the counter he said he didnt see me. I am a 6foot black woman and I was on a walking cane and weigh in at 234lbs. He claims he didnt me.
