Decided to order from them because it appeared they had everything I was looking for in stock; the other bike shops just had one or two items I needed so I thought this would be more convenient. Ordered Friday morning and its now Tuesday afternoon; just looks like its just sitting there(Status says Packaged) but wont let me cancel my order. Kind of shady when they specify a ship time but nothing on processing time. Im assuming that they didnt actually have everything in stock. Maybe they do, who knows. Either way, my experience with the other shops would have led me to believe they wouldve already had it shipped w/ tracking info.

Tree fort is one of the best local bike shops I’ve ever been to! Having recently moved to Ann Arbor from NYC, I have developed a new found love for gravel biking. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars here, overall it’s not great. One guy will say he can fix my bike, the other tells me to buy a $2500 salsa bike. I’ve tried to convert my bike to 1x12, “that will be over a $1000”; so buy a new bike.That’s not what I’m trying to do. I’ve spent months waiting around for a rear wheel, because of the the “parts shortage.” Google a rear wheel and it will arrive in less than two days.I’ve tried to buy a new bike, but you can’t order that brand.... Overall, I couldn’t recommend anyone doing business with this place.

This store is 10 minutes further away from than two other, larger, bike shops. I drive the extra 10 minutes every time because the people are great and the quality of work is excellent.

Functions like a giant internet company, including free shipping and lowest-price comparisons, but has the customer service of a small bike shop in Ypsilanti (just got a vm with hey sorry turns out one of the items you ordered was out of stock and the guy actually sounded bummed and apologetic). Glad I can give my bike parts money to them instead of Jeff Bezos or some internet unicorn.

Tree Fort Bikes goes way above and beyond. When I broke a chain stay (suspension arm) on a frame I bought there, they gave me a free used replacement from crash damaged frame they kept for parts. Otherwise the part would not have been available. I am on the trails instead of on backorder thanks to Tree Fort Bikes!

Brought my bike in for a minor repair (broken derailleur stem, the frame was fine). The guys at the store were great when I dropped my bike off, but the repair service itself was atrocious. I got a quote for repair and was told about a month wait (backed up due to the COVID rush). A month goes by and no call. I call in and speak to the tech, he estimates itll be another week. Weeks go by and no call. I call in and they say my bike was repaired a long time ago. They may have called me once, but they left no message and did not try to reach out to me any further times. I went in to pay for my bike and the cost was four times what was quoted. They went ahead with a repair that was four times the quoted cost without my go ahead.

This place is awesome. Tons of local stock and gets product quicker than any other dealer Ive known. Great staff, great prices, great place! 👍

It used to be a pain to be noble and support the LBS, when online you could get it cheaper and quicker. Tree fort has changed the paradigm - I find that not only does tree fort get things quicker than almost all online sources, they have better advice for choosing the product, they pricematch anyone and sometimes beat it, they know exactly where your order is, and the shipping is usually free for picking it up in store. And if you mess up an order? Just call them, youll actually talk to a real person. Love Tree Fort, love the culture, Ill continue ordering. Give them a try.

These guys completely messed up the dropper post on my mountain bike. I strongly do NOT recommend going to this bike shop. I tried to work things out with the service manager at the time (looked to be about 18 years old...) and he wasnt helpful at all. It took a lot of calls and effort, but I did finally get a hold of the owner. The owner did talk with me and tried to help with getting me my bike back for a weekend of riding and such, but not much more than that and I feel like that was masking the bigger issue at hand. It came down to me not being able to prove that my dropper post wasnt messed up beforehand. It wasnt. I have a good idea of what happened and the service manager mostly confirmed this with my prodding. They had a new guy working on my bike. No idea why, because its a very expensive, nice, complicated mountain bike that you wouldnt want to throw the new guy on. He clearly didnt take any care with mounting the bike on the service stand. He broke the fitting on the line from the remote actuator into the post and they did replace that, but it is obvious to me now that he also gouged the sealing surface of the dropper post. At the time they told me that my dropper post had some air cushion play in it and insisted that it was probably like that before I took it to the shop. Enough that I second guessed myself at the time, even though I was pretty sure that wasnt the case and I had not seen the gouge in my post. Again, I can now see that was NOT the case because the post was never gouged like it is now. So, now I am left with a dropper post that isnt even serviceable. A fairly expensive part on my bike. Beyond that, they were no where near their turnaround time that they claim on their website. Granted they did screw up my bike and at a minimum had to replace the fitting for the remote line, which they had to order so that took some time. Beyond that, I originally had the bike in to get one of the higher level services where they wash the bike and adjust the derailleurs, etc. They did not wash my bike and I question if they even worked on the derailleurs because it didnt shift noticeably better after the fact. They also were supposed to bleed my brakes and the one brake line still had air in it... In the end all I really got out of it was a small discount on the service charge, which is why I am not giving a one star. Because they didnt completely screw me over and charge me for the entire thing with their mistake. Most good shops I have dealt with wouldnt have charged for the service (that I really question if it was even done at all) and would have paid for a new dropper post. I also appreciated that the owner at least took the time to talk with me and seemed like a nice enough guy at the time, but honestly after talking with others about my experience I feel like I got completely taken advantage of in this situation and I am just now finally writing about it. I think I didnt know better at the time, but now its all very obvious and confirmed by evidence and input from other knowledgeable people in the biking community. Its a shame because biking is supposed to be really fun and great people involved in the sport. Unfortunately, I cant say any positive things like this for my experience here. Still haunts me that I didnt push for a fair resolution on this...Edit:Tree Fort Reached out to me personally and very politely helped me resolve this. It was very clear that they desire to provide a great customer service experience.

I dont want to throw any shade to other online bike shops but Tree Fort Bikes is an example of how to do it right. I have ordered from them a few times and each time they honor the time that they tell you when purchasing online. That is why I will keep coming back as customer. Many other online bike shops will quote unrealistic delivery times or often they dont even have the items in stock and force you to wait significantly longer. Ive never had that experience from Tree Fort Bikes. They are open and upfront about shipping times and prices. As a customer all I care about is getting a quality item and having an honest experience from a retailer. Tree Fort Bikes checks all of those boxes for me in that department. I will definitely be back!

First time customer. Just an online order for replacement helmet pads. The order was processed quickly and I had them in a couple days. I had no interaction with the staff, but thats a compliment because none should have been required with an order like mine. Like most, I support a local bike shop, but Tree Fort will absolutely stay on my radar.

Wanted to buy a bike that the shop’s website says they currently have 5 of (in-stock and in-store). Called the shop on 4/30/20 to confirm bike was in-store and possible pickup given social distancing parameters. Was informed over the phone that bike was in-stock and could be picked up during adjusted store hours. Went to the shop on 5/4/20 to purchase bike. Was informed in person that the bike was in-stock but wasn’t built. Gentleman suggested that I purchase the bike online and then wait for email confirming it was ready for pickup after being built, although he cautioned it would take a week due to backlog. Cool. Purchased bike on 5/4/20 for in-store pickup (again, the website says there are FIVE IN STORE). Received an email on 5/5/20 that the bike I purchased had been discontinued and was no longer in-stock. This is just flat out terrible customer service. Wanted to support a local bike shop, but I’ll just order from REI.

I had a great experience that stemmed from the simple fact that these people set up their website to trust their customer and properly serve them.I purchased just one thing here, but realized I had ordered the wrong size. With ominous feelings of voicemail hell and people that cannot really help, I realized that I could log in, cancel my order with just one click, and reorder the proper size.While I most often support my LBS first, I realize that Treefort Bikes are real people, a LBS away from home.

Bought a 2020 Giant talon 2 and I love it. Salespeople are kind and helpful and it is nice going into the store knowing that you won’t walk out with a cheap junk bike like you’ll find in other stores.

I brought in a bike I put together myself. I couldnt get the brakes right. The person worked at the store said they were backed up about 2 weeks with maintenance and repairs but took the time right there to fix the bike. He was reluctant to charge anything even though he took time out of his busy schedule to help. This place is fantastic. They have the best service. I dont live close to Tree Fort Bikes but I always drive there when I need anything.

I purchased a bike part from this awesome shop and they price matched a competitor’s website. They actually have a widget that allows you to send the page where the price is lower. Highly overpriced!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Charged me $100 to put on pedals, seat, and handle bars. Only reason I took it there was that the front brake cable was disengaged from lever. Bike was a new free bike for reward from employer and arrived that way. Guy who wrote me up said easy fix and that shouldnt be $100, full assembly price. If you go there, expect to get ripped off. Also kept my manual which they wanted.... not sure why????I have been contacted by the owner and I am very happy to say that he has taken steps to ensure a mix up like this does not happen to someone else. Yes, he offered to adjust the charges but more importantly to me, he recognized an issue and handled it with his staff. That I appreciate more than any price adjustment. I would go back to this business knowing the kind of owner that he has shown to be. Thank you.

Be careful when ordering from Tree Fort Bikes . Placed an order 2 days ago. Website said specifically If you order within 2 hours, the item will ship out tomorrow. No shipping confirmation yesterday so I called customer service. On hold for 45 minutes, only to be told the item will not ship out until sometime next week. Joke! Cant even tell me when exactly. Dont make promises you cant keep.

Pandemic musings: Placed an order. Order was shipped on time. Tracking via USPS showed they received it but that acceptance was pending. Coming off the same situation with another shop, where I never received the item, I was suspicious. After a few days with no change, I filed a complaint with USPS. I was actually called by a USPS employee who assured me that the paperwork for the package had been received, but no package. She said that they almost **never** loose packages and that has certainly been my experience, so I emailed TFB. Again, to my surprise, I was called (on a weekend) and assured that the package was delivered to USPS, but that they would issue a refund if I wanted. Long story short, they were right and USPS lied. USPS sat on the package for 5-6 days and suddenly found it again after Id cancelled the order. These guys know what they are talking about.

This is the only bike shop for me. They treat all customers as special and are willing to take the time to teach. Love this place and you will too.

I get the vibe that the workers dont want to work at a bike shop. the one dude is so dismissive in everything he says, one word answers, general idc attitude. brought my bike in for them to replace the chain, said they would call within a week with the issue but repairs were 4-6 weeks out. no call 3 weeks in so I finally called them for an update, dude seemed annoyed I would dare call them lol I understand the delay time w corona. got the bike back 5 weeks later and the chain broke while I was riding down my street, not even on trails like come on guys its disappointment at every turn with this bike shop

I placed an order for two tires on June 3rd. I paid extra for overnight shipping. Items were in stock. on Monday June 8th I still had not received my items not had a received any notification that the items had shipped. I sent an email and received no reply. Today, Wednesday June 10th I called the number on the website and after a lengthy hold, spoke to an agent. The agent said the items had shipped and are due for delivery today. I asked for a refund of the expedited shipping that I paid for and they refused stating that the extra for shipping did not mean the order would be filled quickly. Hopefully my items will arrive but I will not do business with tree fort bikes again.

I have a fairly old bike (at least 10+ years) and its in desperate need of some TLC. Well these guys are awesome! I took my bike in and they repaired and adjusted both the front and rear brakes for a very low price! The brakes work like theyre brand new and I couldnt be happier. Im not the handiest guy around so finding a place closeby that can repair my bike has been a miracle. Its a bonus that they are pretty affordable too. They also offer basic tune-up services as well as some more in-depth ones for a great price considering all they do for your bike.The staff are very friendly and honest, they gave me an estimate and told me theyd call if there was gonna be more work needed and the estimate was spot on when i picked it up today! None of that shady stuff like you might find when you go to a car mechanic. Their 48 hour turnaround time is awesome (not taking weekends into account) but they get the job done right!My bike definitely needs more repairs so Ill absolutely be going back to Tree Fort! Great job guys!UPDATE: They did a great job putting on a new chain and fixing the gears so they shift properly. These guys really know their stuff and Im happily a repeat customer!

Online Store:I purchased a pair of cycling shoes online and--as I do with all of my online purchases--had them shipped to my residential address, which is different from my billing address. A day later, I received an email that my shipping address couldnt be verified, so I called customer service, waited, and gave them my billing phone number. This is where I should have just cancelled my order and ordered from Universal Cycles, which had the same cycling shoe at the same price; same shipping; same excellent reviews on Yelp.I received the same email an hour and a half later and called again, giving another billing number (either of them should have been correct). This wasnt worth my time. At this point I certainly should have cancelled my order and gone elsewhere. The customer service representative even had the nerve to lie to me about why my time was being wasted. He said that they verify this information for the protection of their customers.When you pay with a credit card, youre already protected from fraud. The verification was for their protection, so my time was wasted for their benefit; not mine.An hour later I received the same email a third time. I quickly emailed them back to cancel my order and ordered from Universal Cycles.My advice: Buy from Universal Cycles in the first place.

Its not clear who is in charge at this store. I dealt with 4 different people for 1 bicycle repair. My bike wasn’t ready by the time they quoted me, which isn’t a big deal to me. But it wasn’t even ready to go after they had told me to come pick it up, no one had test rode my bike, “because it was raining” and when I tested it, the new tire was rubbing on the fender. I waited an hour in the store while they tried different solutions. At one point, I was almost asked to wait another day. They finally found a tire that worked and got it sorted.I had also asked about a tune up when I came in initially, but didn’t realize (and wasn’t made aware) that the $65 dollar basic tune up, basically only covers parts I was already paying to replace. (Brakes,chain,hubs) after asking two different employees about this oversight, I was only offered half the tune up cost as restitution

Good place to find older or more obscure parts and open box deals. I accidentally ordered the wrong version of a product late at night. Sent them an email through their contact form, which is not the most intuitive process (wrote this review to point this out to others). Long story short, they are on top of their communications so no need to play phone tag. I got an email that morning; they fixed my order and everything arrived as it should. Great selection, poor order processing timeline. Opened order on Sunday 11/3, did not ship til Tuesday 11/5. Ok if you dont need parts in a hurry, but Fed-Ex 2 day air was not worth it as parts did not arrive till Thursday 11/7. Missed 1 day of riding without parts. Good thing I didnt choose ground shipping or else I wouldnt have been riding this week at all.

10 day shipping after charging $5.00 shipping for simple small components. Unacceptable, not even table stakes to compete in the online space. Avoid if you want you stuff in a reasonable amount of time.

I stumbled on Tree Fort almost by accident. I was shopping in the Ann Arbor area for a year end model bike. In November, they still had a large selection in their inventory and the sales staff were very helpful. I told them basically what I wanted and they had some great suggestions that they could show me in their racks. Im really glad that I found them. My sales person, Jesse was great and so were their year end prices. I bought a Giant Escape RX-O and so far, I love the bike.

After checking with about 5 other shops no one had the right bottom bracket in stock and was 3 to 7 days out for the repair. I made the drive to tree fort they had the part in stock and toss it in and was able to ride that day. In Michigan the riding season is too short to leave the bike two weeks in the shop, thanks guys.

The staff of this store are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, not to mention polite.They tend to carry higher end products in store and provide excellent support for any bike they sell.

A shipment was lost in the mail, and these guys shipped a replacement order (after we both couldnt get the shipper to provide proof of delivery). Not Tree Forts fault, but they replaced it anyway! Great service.

Bought nothing more than a rim, but the service (purchase and shipment notifications) was certainly professional. The price was better than anyone elses, and the shipment was very prompt and I assume below their cost. It looks like these guys are just getting started in the biz, (I took a small chance with them) so good luck to them.

After buying my first mountain bike from here it was a great experience. The times I took it in for service, or took in a wheel to be trued, not so much. First time I went in for for service was for a derailleur hanger that had gotten bent in a crash, after a few days I got a call saying it was done, and I took it for a ride and it was not done, the cage hit the spokes. Just recently I got back a trued wheel which was not true at all and multiple spokes were very loose, at least the tire was mounted properly and the tubeless done right. Not going back here, Ill just service my bike myself from now on.

The guys at Tree Fort Bikes have helped me save an old exercise bike, inspect and tweak a 1983 Miyata 110, and provided parts for other bikes we have for the family. I am just a regular guy trying to exercise more and they treat me great, just like the treat the serious cyclists I see in the shop. I have recommended Tree Fort Bikes to many friends!

Customer service is unhelpful, rude, and blames customer for issues that are stores fault. Plenty of places to buy bike gear online at the same prices so ill be taking future business elsewhere. Not worth it.

Dont do curbside unless you want to wait in line for people buying bikes and be ignored. And nobody answers the phone.

Delt with tfb twice now, great shop, will be ordering more for my bikes from them. possibly a bike from them too!!!

I wasnt necessarily looking to buy a bike right before i moved to FL, but wanted to look around a what was available before i did. I was greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff and we discussed what i was looking for in a bike, my expectations and how i would be riding. We then looked at bikes within my price range, looking at features and getting candid advice about the bikes and accessories. Throughout the hour and a half long conversation i didnt feel rushed or pressured to buy - Mike honestly wanted to see another customer who was going to be happy with their bike, and he was willing to take the time and explain different components and their pros/cons. The staff is obviously in this business for the right reasons. They love bikes and they want their customers to be happy. These are the guys I want to buy a bike from - so i did.I purchased the bike and they installed all of my accessories and showed me tips/tricks for keeping the bike in great condition. They even took time to help me practice taking the front wheel on/off. I was new to bikes with disk brakes, so this was helpful - no one wants took look dumb trying to fumble with a wheel for the first couple of times.Next, i needed a way to get my ride down to FL - time for a bike rack. They didnt have it in stock so they discounted it nicely. Then, there was a chance it wouldnt be here by my departure - no problem. They had it airmailed with no additional charge and offered to install it the day it arrived. These guys are great!The only down side is that i spent too much money than i told my wife i would. But hey thats my fault - not theirs!Bottom line: Buy your bike from this shop.

Ordered a part with overnight shipping but when I emailed the following day when it should have been here, the part had not shipped yet. Received a quick reply to my email, but would have preferred being notified asap that the part wouldnt arrive as expected- especially when paying $20 for shipping a small part.
