To begin with, theyre prices were extremely high. My vehicle had overheated and I had it towed by AAA to this shop. Anyhow, I did eventually agree with the price for the work and a few days later I was contacted and informed that my vehicle was ready for pick up. This was around 4pm so I advised them Id be in first thing the following morning. However, before I could walk out the door, I recieved another call stating there is additional work that needs to be done on my car, as it is still overheating. This additional work would add over 3 thousand dollars to the original quoted price. Of course I became confused and upset as I just could not comprehend how my car went from being ready for pick up to still having essentially the same problem as when I brought it in. Long story short, I paid for the work I had already agreed to (not because I wanted to but because I had to) and took my car without the additional work they recommended since I could not pay such an exuberant amount, nor did I qualify for the payment plan. Now I am out over $1,500 and still do not have a car to drive. If my car had been correctly diagnosed and I had been given a closer cost estimate to what was actually expected I would have been able to take my car elsewhere or decline the work, as I am still in the same position of not having a car. Lastly, I have 5 miles on my vehicle that are unaccounted for as compared to the milage listed at the time of release. Perhaps someone took a little joy ride causing my vehicle to require this additional work that was found after I had been told it was ready.

Everyone in town knows this place has gone downhill over the last few years. This is your typical scammy mechanic and the good reviews on here are from people who don’t realize they’ve overpaid and the work is shoddy. Avoid at all costs.

They are consistently helpful, informative and friendly. Ive been to a few other places in the Hi Desert and I highly recommend them. I wont bring my car anywhere else.

I was driving into Joshua Tree from LA and saw this perfect old 2002 Nissan Frontier for sale out front Ultimate Motors. The guys from the shop where selling it so I bought it from them. They are a great group of guys. A week later the car was having some overheating issues. So I brought the truck back to them and they quickly found the problem and installed a new radiator in the truck for free. These guys stand by their work and are honest and straightforward.

The folks at Ultimate did a great job on my Toyota. The cost of the work they did was very reasonable and the work was done promptly. The crew is very friendly and professional. I have had most of the work on my car done at the dealership, but from now on I will have my work done at Ultimate

Good job rewiring my truck after rodents ate the wiring! Since I didnt have an appt. It took almost a week before they even looked at it. Then they had it a little over 2 months! I was grounded without my truck! B7t she seems to be running very well so it was worth the wait!

Customer ALERT!!! Worst place ever!! We were driving by yucca Valley on our way to home (L.A) and we had a problem with the car we end up at ultimate motors on Sunday afternoon (not by choice of course) they couldnt give us an estimate untill tuesday, when we finally agreed with the repairs went back home in a rental car and they promised the car was going to be ready friday so we left home at 6 am, in the rental car with our 2 kids just to arrive to this hole on time (they said they open at 8am) IT WAS CLOSED!!! We waited until 11 am!!! Nobody showed up now well have to extend the car rental and go back home not without suing their assess!!

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!!! I dropped my 7.3 off here for a no start problem after 2 days the only idea they had had was to charge the batteries after a week of it being there with no contact I started to inquire about the progress sure enough the next day it was done I picked it up and drove 600 miles before the cheap aftermarket parts that they put in (without informing me that they werent factory) left me stranded.Severely wish you could give less than one star

Back in August I needed an engine for my Audi A4 B7 since my short block was destroyed in a house fire while engine was already off the car. I came to Ultimate Motors (because of the great reviews and 2YR engine warranty for AAA members) to ask if they could repair the car. I brought pictures and videos to show how the car was and the minor heat damages it sustained from the fire; also informed that I still had all the parts from the engine inside the car. Mike (the foreman in my case) agreed to take on the project of rebuilding my car. I Had the car towed over, he estimated $4100 cash for an engine, miscellaneous parts (including burnt connectors and wiring from the very front of the car) and labor which included install of a full set of Koni shocks. He also allowed me to buy certain parts that he thought they might need as well to help me save money. I deposited $2000 cash that very day to start the process. Mike then told me the engine should be there in a WEEK and would take about 3 BUSINESS DAYS from that to complete the job. Also would keep me informed throughout the whole process to help me plan accordingly since I had a rental for the time being.I called or stopped there every 2-3 WEEKS for an update since no one ever contacted me. It was always clueless Andrew who picked up the phone and then Mike who kept getting the wrong engine from the same supplier. Then came the time Mike physically showed me the engine that he inspected himself to make sure it was the right one and since I was going to be out of state for 15 DAYS, he assured the car would be ready before I got back and would call if he ran into any issue.18 DAYS after Mike showed me the engine or 2 MONTHS since the car had been in their shop (still in the yard against a fence where itd been since day 1) I called to know the balance due to pick up the car; Andrew was still clueless on the repairs and Mike said the engine he showed me was once again wrong; yet never was I notified of that.Tired of their lack of professionalism and lost of trust, I told Andrew I would get my car repaired at a different shop and would be there to pick up my cash deposit and tow the car of their premises the next morning. When I got there I was left to deal with Andrew (Yes Andrew! the guy who didnt know anything about the deal I had with Mike). Mike didnt have the decency to even show up his face although he was present in the office. Instead of the $2000 cash deposit I gave them, Andrew handed me a check to cash at their bank which would charge me $10 to honor it. The whole experience with Ultimate Motors was a disaster.In less than 3 WEEKS from leaving Ultimate Motors, I was driving my Audi again with a 6YR warranty used engine, full exhaust, new shocks and a new clutch back to my house

Our Volkswagen was taken in due to an intake problem. Andrew, at the front desk, was able to help with calling our warranty company and making sure to get the most out of what was covered. He promised updates by close of business that Friday, which he did, and was able to work with the warranty company and made sure our parts were covered. We had our parts by Monday and he stayed behind passed 5pm (we couldnt get off work till 5 and were 30 minutes away from the shop) so we could get our car back. Very pleased with the service. On the Friday that my wife took the car in initially, the owner gave her a ride home so she didnt have to wait there. Great customer service and follow up.

Went on a Saturday morning to smog dogs to get my 1995 Mercury smogged but unfortunately their equipment was down and not up to spec so he recommended ultimate Motors I have to say thankful Im glad that he did. Yes it was $8 more than smog dog quote but with worth every cent the customer service was wonderful and the service excellent as well. Highly recommend for a smog thank you again for the great service.

I rate this place 4 stars for their professionalism and appearance of the facility. I have not yet had any repairs done there...they checked out a noise in my car, and provided a complete itemized estimate of the needed work. They were rated the best auto repair facility in Yucca Valley in 2016, and they are also AAA approved.

DISGRACEFUL. What I witnessed this morning with my own 2 eyes. ...a gal came in to discuss something about her vehicle......Adam was so rude aggressive hostile and foul to her I was SHOCKED ! This so called man actually got so mad when the gal refused to engage in his ugly attitude and bullyish tone, he told his Co worker let her just stand there .....the gal was a class act, she stayed calm, cool, collected and Very respectful and refused to lower her standards to this mouse of a mechanic Adam or be bullied by him . His behavior was absolutely vile, personally were he my employee he wouldve been fired on the spot. I will no longer be a customer of ultimate Motors due to Adams deplorable discpicable and rotten behavior to respectful and friendly customers like this morning.

I went in to have a fuse replaced. Was told it would not be looked at till the middle if the following day.Eight days later and after calling twice, they finally get it into a bay. I also needed a smog check. Three days after I was told they were looking at it I was called and told of another problem I had not noticed driving it.Was told that in order for them to smog it, they would have to repair the front end so that it would be safe enough to drive in order for them to get a read out since the battery died.They promised to have it all done that Friday, and what was originally a $200 job, had now turned into $1100+they had the nerve to call me Friday, and ask me to drive it so the smog can be completed. I thought that was the point of repairing the front end.Then when I went to pay them, and asked if I could have someone call in with a credit card number they said it wouldnt be a problem.At the last minute, after they had lost my paper work, and spending 20 minutes looking for it, they tell me they cant do that without an email first. So I had to walk across yucca valley and back to get my paycheck to pay these jerks.ULTIMATE C__KS___ERS

I have two older pickup trucks, a 2000 Ranger and a 2007 Ranger. Because of the great maintenance and repair work by Ultimate motors I have not had to purchase a new vehicle. They are honest, knowledgeable and competent. I highly recommend them.

It was ok.If you buy a car from a used car dealer like 62 auto sales dont take it here the are in bed with 62 auto. They send all their work to them. So you will get the runaround. Im sure they are good at what they do for the average person but not with the used car dealer they dont want to lose their business so they do want the dealer tells themIv been trying to get my car fixed for almost 3 months. And they just keep giving me the runaround so taking it to different repair shop ones that doesnt deal with 62 auto sales I even bought an extended warranty cost me 2400.00 still nothing has been done.I was advised to do this. Nothing againest the shop but like I said they do business with 62 auto sales.

We rented a vintage Westfalia VW from a site called Outdoorsy and on our way to Joshua Tree (from LA) the VW broke down on us in the beginning of our week-long road trip / vacay. Adam at Ultimate Motors knew everything to be known about this super-niche super-old VW and had us up and going in less than 3 hours. He really did save us from a pinch and the prices are super reasonable!

Leaving Yucca Valley, California, on my way back to Canada, my first trip in a new-to-me 2016, 19 Class C Adventurer, the engine light came on. Refused service by the local dealership because my small rig was a motorhome, Ultimate Motors, recommended by AAA, were welcoming, reassuring, patient and professional. Likely due to an inadequate tune up, the spark plugs, coils and catalytic converter all had to be replaced. A converter for a 2015 Ford chassis, was difficult to find, but they found it and picked it up after hours. The process, mechanical problems and bill was explained with compassion, patience and expertise. Due to the dedication of the staff, they turned an expensive, anxious three day delay into a small part of a lovely trip. Without hesitation, I would recommend this business to all travellers.

I took my 2003 F250 in for Transmission warranty work, They completed that and when I picked it up it stalled and would not stay running.They took it back in and installed 2 new batteries and gave me a quote of $4,165.75To replace all fuel injectors,fuel pressure sensor and fuel filter.My truck has been sitting since May 15, 2017.Thinking I had to save the money for the repair, Last week a mechanic friend told me to replace the fuel filter first then go from there.I did! and now the truck is running perfect.I simply took my truck to the professionalsAnd they let me down. By the way the filter cost me $32 and took 15 min to replace.I would definitely pass this shop by. Very nice staff though. With all the positive reviews, I wonder how many repairs were actually necessary.

They are the only AAA certified shop in the morongo basin, and the only shop up here where Ill take my vehicles. I have only had 1 less than stellar experience with them, which is why I gave them 4 stars rather than 5.

I had them replace my Glow Plugs in my 1999 f350 while working on it they loosened the nut on the oil dipstick and it fell into the pan . they cut a hole in the pan to get the nut and welded it back and tried to stop it from leaking but it still leaks . They say its my problem now and befor they told me its on their dime.
