Called the store at 10 am, spoke to a young girl who said the person that makes the decisions isnt available till 12 and would have them call me. Waited and waited. Phone rings at 1:43 pm. The gentleman tells me he is there for a half hour, I respond I am close I should be there pretty quickly. I pack the valued collection, and leave my yard it takes 12 minutes to get there. I walk in and have no mask so I turn back get my mask and the guy says I told you I was leaving at 2 and I dont even want to look at it now. So I turn around collection of rare and extremely valuable stamps collection in hand and knowingly have a collection worth a substantial value, and leave as I inform him I know the worth of the items and it is now the loss of theirs. Hence as I walked in the sign above the door says store closing everything must go. Imagine that. Seems I may not be the only person feeling the cold customer service tactics used with this place. No wonder their closing if they treated me like that after I had a such a horrendous experience, closing seems like a better way for their business to end up going. I also have several other items they would have been interested in, but thanks to the way I was treated, never would one walk thru the glass door of this shop as long as I have a drop of business sense and proper mental faculties!Well, I’ve been a estate buyer and seller for over 20 years and this is the first time I’ve encountered a gentleman that didn’t want to have opportunity to the items that knowingly have value and they could have made profit from.If you didn’t want to do business, or even handle the situation, why call and put a time stamp to be there by? Making the deadline, and then being mistreated by a person who called me 2 hours later than I was told I would be called and allowed me to be put on a deadline to meet them, making it a process almost unacceptable and unnecessary to do.The only thing that saves the one star is that at least they found time in the day to return a call made 5 hours preceding this horrendous timeline placed upon me as a person.I have several other outlets I could have chose but that would have taken the money generated from this item out of the local community and being a established antique merchant and dealer in Hillsborough County for many years recognize the need of keeping the local business alive and prospering. This pandemic has been rough for everyone, why turn away money?People are dying left and right. Estate sales are at a all time high and product is coming from attics that has never seen daylight In decades....I’d have said with the initial return call that they didn’t have time today, and that to better accommodate the size and the depth of this collection let’s set a appointment, and properly handle this. The end result of this review is this, they have lost yet another customer, and potentially a rare collection that one extremely rude and ignorant shop owner caused will now be taken to someone of a higher caliber. I almost think the man supposedly going to look at this wasn’t nearly qualified for the items I had with me this time. I also have several storage units that hold many treasures, just waiting, to be appraised and authentication processed.Should have read that sign above the door before I called this morning. It all goes back to how you treat folks and even if you had a appointment for a set time, you should have clearly made a decision and different arrangements instead of allowing me to come and look like a fool, with collection in hand exposing the collection to the elements and allowing me to do so is super unprofessional as well as just out and out not good business!I’ll make sure to tell anyone that will listen about this and this isn’t the only review I’ll make sure surfaces. All goes back to how you are taught to treat folks. No worries I’ll go thru the multiple outlets in Sarasota, Tampa, West Palm or other local outlets and I’ll be sure to not forget this, reminding anyone to stay away from this place! Sad ain’t it
Love this store! They have so many beautiful, unique treasures, but the real reason to go is their vintage and antique Disney section. If you love Disney items its worth the time to pop in. You wont regret it.
