I have used Sims & Lohman 2 times. Each time my cabinets arrived on time, and were installed by an awesome carpenter. Selecting the countertops and the layout was amazing. Their team made it so simple, and the install team did an amazing job. They were so courteous in my house and took time to make sure everything was right before they left. I loved my first kitchen remodel so much I happily used Sims & Lohman again for my next kitchen and bath remodel. I would recommend highly.
I am in the middle of my project, and to date this company has been really difficult to work with. On 10/13 I received a call from Lowes that I should be hearing from Sims & Lohman within 48 hours. Today is 10/29 and I still have not heard a word from them. I have left messages on 10/20 and 10/26 and they have not returned a call. I went to the store yesterday and the manager had the representative I was working with to email them again to contact me immediately. I need information on this project for other contractors working on my project, I also need to know when my countertops will be complete and installed. Clearly they could care less, too bad, because I have two more kitchen projects lined up that I will steer away from Lowes and Sims & Lohman.
I got the worst experience ever. I was scheduled to have my kitchen counter top install on 07/09/21 between 3-6 pm. I missed a call and a text message that day at 1:13 pm saying that the installer in outside my house waiting to do the installation. I was at work at that time my phone was on silence cause of work policy, when I got off work at 2 pm I saw the missed call and text, then I called back the installer answered and told me he was waiting outside my house but no one came out or answer the phone and then said his manager told him to leave after waiting for a while, thats when I told him my appointment is between 3-6 pm and am talking to you and its just after 2pm right, I asked if he can come over now ill be home in 15 minutes, he told me his manager told him to clocked out and leave and he is not coming back to call his manager. I then called their office several time just after I hanged up with the installer, no one answered the phone, I even called Lows cause the cabinets was purchased there, they told me they will send an email to them. I was so upset I cried all the way home while driving cause i was looking forward to have a counter top in my kitchen once again after 3 months of home reno. Later I found out the text massage was his manager Dave then i texted him around 5 pm told him I was not happy with the way i was treated so to please have me on the schedule the next day or Monday because it was their fault for coming without confirmation to come early, but Dave did not instead he scheduled me 4 days later. How awful was that. If their was a half star i wouldve gave them that. I would never recommended this company to no one. Sims Lohman representative respect customers time and schedule!
HORRIBLE customer service- I have made 7 phone calls to schedule countertop install and cannot get anyone to respond to my calls. Will not recommend or use them again.
Overpriced. Horrendous communication. Timelines aren’t even close, and they act like they are working so hard for you. If you want your home finished in any type of reasonable timeline, go elsewhere.
I cannot recommend this company to anyone. Customer service was the worse. David will NOT call you back. I wont say he is rude but not great customer service. Initially when they came out, they cut the wrong dimensions for the counter. When I called to tell David, no apology for the inconvenience or anything, just went into scheduling an appointment for them to come back out. They did make it right the following week. Anyway, the next time I need work done from Lowes, I will make sure that Sims-Lohman is NOT the contractor.
I have granite countertop installed via Home Depot. Given the reviews available, I was really concerned. The scheduler David was very kind and answered my questions with additional information. The installation was very smooth. Isaac Diaz (Lead) and Zach Bouren were my installers. They showed up on time, were very careful, and professional. They left the house clean. I am very happy with the outcome.
I would not recommend this company to anyone. The only reason they even deserve 1 star is because they eventually fixed their mistakes (I guess third times the charm). We have dozens of pictures of the poor work they did installing our countertops. Not only was it poorly done, it was also not completed in a timely and professional manner...it took an additional unexpected 4 weeks to install them. The first installation appointment, our main countertop piece broke during install. It was several days before we even got ahold of them to figure out what the next steps were (meaning we went without countertops/sinks-therfore running water downstairs for an entire month). They would leave our house before ever addressing the poor and unfinished work and then were extremely hard to get ahold of (seriously, no one answers their phone there). My husband spoke to several members of the company and did a lot of back and forth with Home Depot as well. Each time we did eventually speak with them, it would be a week or two before they ever attempted to repair or finish their work. Extremely disappointed that Home Depot sub-contracts such a terrible company. We wouldve much rather paid a higher price to begin with for a better quality and experience. Im angry that we had to learn the hard way.
I am very pleased with my beautiful urban frost quartz countertops. The installers Tyrece and Shawn were very helpful and informative for aftercare and if I have an issues in the future.
I would not recommend this company or Home Depot! I spent 1,400$ on countertop that took over month after measurement (really almost 2). Then on two days prior to delivery I get a text with a change in the time of installation having already taken off work I called the company and spoke with Nathen and received horrible customer service. Nathen was admit that he couldn’t help me out with arranging a earlier time.Then wrote a review about this company horrible customer service experience and that I was considering canceling the order; this is when I received a call from the director of operation Keith. Keith called and arranged for an earlier installation time, between 11:00am to 1:00pm I thanked him and changed the review.Keith the director of operation lied to me. On the day of the installation the workers didn’t get to my house until 4:00pm and never once received a call from Keith or any one letting me know that they are behind, my time is clearly not important to this company.Something as expensive as 1,400$ countertop you think the company would have the decency to call the customer. Really disappointed with director of operations, the seam cut of the Corleone (Did not match pattern can see a line in picture below), and the only positive was the installation worker were very nice and did great job but that all goes away when it’s a bad cut from the company

I can’t say enough good things about this company. We went through Home Depot to purchase our Silestone countertops. Their customer service has been exceptional, they have kept in contact with us throughout the whole project. The field measuring was fantastic, the install was fantastic and the communication to ensure we were happy after was awesome. The counters are beautiful! I would highly recommend this company. We had a wonderful experience.
We were greeted and helped by a very knowledgeable person. He was able to draw us up plans for the island for our house. His name is Mike Milton.
We used sims lohman after we had the wrong counter installed by cutting edge. Wish we had went to sims lohman in the beginning. The rep had us view our stone and pick what sections we wanted. They taped off the stone and told us what sections would go in what area of our kitchen. The installers were on time and kept us us informed throughout the whole installation. They were amazing!!! Also there were no seams in our granite as there were with cutting edge. Thank you for a wonderful experience!!
Please do not use this company.. it is not worth the headache. It is definitely not as advertised. Pay extra somewhere else and get it done right and on time!!
Scheduled our countertops to be installed almost 1 month ago. The week before I get a call with a 2 hr window for the following week on a certain day. The install day they no call, no show so I call and it goes to voicemail every different prompt. Finally reach someone to ask whats going on..they have someone call me back who after several questions admits that they dont even have our countertops done. They may be out later..they may not. I have taken off work for nothing and our plumber has to be rescheduled. Not any apology. Wow.. Custer service and communication are dead.
Purchase New Westport home with Sims-Lohman who installed kitchen granite counter tops. We had our first year inspection & was discovered 2 seams in our granite top had issues 1️⃣ top of surface had rough filler at the seams. 2️⃣ bad corner filler appearance looks defective. They sent worker on two service calls was not able to resolve appearance. 3️⃣ Sims-Lohman never offered to replace granite counter top. We paid $6,100 dollars for the kitchen granite top. Very dissatisfied quality of workman ship. I guess they just blew us off, beware if you contract with this Company for Granite purchases. Hope new customers review our review we just filled out!
I had a partial install (still not done) of countertops purchased from Home Depot yesterday. I was floored by the lack of attention to detail and the quality of the Corian top itself. It looks just like the samples I have- except it looks like somebody spray painted a bunch of stuff on it in black. The piece for the bar top was severely warped and bowed and simply did not fit the angles of the wall.I am very disappointed in the installation, the product, and the fact that I now have to repair the drywall they ripped out. The only positive I have is the installers were very friendly and they arrived when they were scheduled to. What a pain this experience has been. Sad excuse for Fine Kitchen craftsmanship. Id have been better off measuring and installing myself.
I had quartz counter tops installed through this company. First problem was they cut the hole to the faucet to close to my farm sink and the the faucet could not be properly installed. To fix this issue the company decided to cut out a portion of my sink from underneath to fix their error becaues this was their fix. I was very dissatisfied with the fix due to issues in the possiblity of future issues but this was the cheapest way Sims lohman could fix their mistake. The second promblem was found a few days later when my delayed panty cabinet had arrived. When installing I relized that the countertop was a quarter of a inch overhanging a cabinet when I specifically told the installer it was to be flush because a cabinet was being installed. I contacted sims lohman to find out they will only fix this if I pay 300. Agian their mistake. I would avoid doing business with this company at all cost. They hire cheap inexperienced labor that does not know what they are doing. Avoid
On March 18 2018 we ordered our countertops from Lowes. They told us it takes two weeks. After the measurements are taken, for the installation. On March 23rd Sims-Lohman came down to my boat, to take the measurements. The man informed me. It should take two weeks, for the installation. Now Sims-Lohman informed me it wont be until April 25th. I assume that they just tell people two weeks, just to make a sale
VERY poor job to say the least. DO NOT use these people. Home Depo subcontracts them- that how I ended up with them.I ended up being charged full price for butchering my cabinets, poor installation and a scratched counter top. No one took responsibility for this job. DO NOT USE THEM.I REGRET having order the countertop from Home Depo and subsequently this company!! Pay a bit more and get the job done right, the first time.
This place works their installers from 7 am till midnight, and expects them to be back in the morning at 7. They never let you leave at 5 for an appointment, or if it’s an emergency. They continuously mess up in the shop and expect the installers to fix the problem at the job sight, even when it is impossible. I am highly agitated with them not following the regulations of Indiana work laws, and work truck driving laws.
