I had hoped the long awaited visit to Amore was all it claimed to be, a true NY pizza experience.Since leaving Long Island, NY and finding myself in the Midwest, I have been trying to find something close and again disappointed.I will start off by saying it had the feel and look of a by the slice pizzeria so that was good. It is a step above the chain restaurants that are abundant everywhere. The pricing? I am one to never judge if the food warrants it.Reviews here were all over so that was another reason to visit. I tried the sausage slice despite the fine ground version offered, not how it is served in NY.Many complaints here talked about burnt crust. It was and made it hard to give it a chance with all the taste overwhelmed by overcooked crust.Not one to return food, I went on to an very rare menu item, the rice ball. The presentation was a first for me as never had it served cut in quarters with sauce somewhat on one side with a cheese mixture dripping off another quarter of it as if cut in last minute. A bit overwhelmed trying to taste the actual rice ball.The red sauce was obviously fresh which was great. If a very sweet version is what you enjoy, you will like it.The stuffed slice ordered I felt made an honest try to recreate its beginnings.I will applaud the attempts Amore is trying to bring a new approach to Italian here in the Indianapolis area but in no way is this a recreation of NY restaurant.
I truly loved my time at Amore. My guest really enjoyed it as well. The staff is super friendly and provided excellent service! Thank you for the wonderful experience and amazing food!
I ordered a pizza and breadsticks two weeks ago from this place. When I got home the entire bottom of the pizza was burned. I contacted the owner requesting a refund for the pizza. I provided photos, same as I have posted here. He never responded after emailing him twice. I wont be back. Horrible customer service, at least he could have offered an apology. I wont be back, go to Greeks where at least you can eat the food.

We ordered dine in, and our pizzas came out in a box. Upon trying to remove each piece, they were laid on a sheet of waxed paper, which ripped and tore off leaving the wax paper attached to the bottom of the pizza slices. Crust was overdone and burnt. Will probably not be back. The staff were very nice, but the food was not up to par. Ive definitely had better...

Amore has a lot of great options for a great pizza night. I enjoy having a margherita pizza, which is not offered at most pizza places, so I had to try one from here. We also saw a few people recommend the wings, and they are right! The wings were amazing and the pizza was delicious. We had a supreme pizza from here a different time, but it is a little greasy considering the size and toppings. Overall, this is a great pizza place in town that is worth a visit!
Good customer service, easy walk up option for puzza by the slice. Food is yummy but can get a bit pricey for a whole pizza or two.
Wow!! I was born in Naples Italy with parents who owned NY style pizza places in the states. All I can say is try it, try it, try it!!! fantastic pizza and look forward to many more pizza nights here with the family and trying some different stuff. But if you’re looking for great NY style pizza, this is the place!!

$4 for a slice of blah pizza, I ordered and they gave my slice to someone else. When I asked the girl was rude and told me to wait for another house pie.
We decided to have dinner tonight at Amore at the last minute. I love supporting local restaurants but we left a little disappointed. We had a large pepperoni pizza that was just average at best. The dough on the bottom was very crispy and my guess is they cooked the pizza a little too long. The flavor of the pizza was also underwhelming - not terrible but not special. I doubt we will return.
Decent food but service needs work. Tables were often dirty and staff semi-responsive.

Tasty. Veggies were cut too large to cook or enjoy. The bottoms of both slices were under done. I had to use a folk instead of fold and eat. This will not stop us from coming back.

Service was excellent! Food, unfortunately, was not. Breadsticks were bland and dryish. Dipping sauce was prepackaged. Pizza had chicken on it that seemed as though it was a previously frozen, processed chicken breast. The crust and breadsticks were fresh. But it couldnt make up for the blandness and lack of other fresh ingredients. Maybe it was a one off. I seem to be in the minority.
I lived in NYC for 25 years. I have to say that finding the right pizza & pasta place in Indiana has been challenging. Until I found Amore Pizzeria! My friend Mike recommended Amore Pizzeria and boy does it remind me of New York City! Excellent fresh food! Pizza has crispy crust and yet soft on top. Chicken parm sandwich was excellent! Past was better! Customers for life! Thank you Chris and Danny!
My husband and I got dinner here today Friday July 10 2020. We got takeout and ate in our hotel room in downtown Indianapolis. It’s not particularly close to this location-30 minutes or so-but surprisingly the food was still hot and fresh ! The best pizza and breadsticks we’ve ever had. You can’t find pizza this good at your typical fast food pizza restaurant. We got the food quickly when we went in! 5/5 stars! I’ll continue to update my reviews.
Giant pizza by the slice, amazing mozzarella sticks, friendly staff. The kids meal is a great deal and always a hit with kiddos!
Ive had many pizzas here in the past and they have been wonderful. Tonight I ordered one for curbside pick up and it was awful, burnt crust, not half and half as I ordered, could barely find the sauce and cheese. I will be throwing more than half of it out. I wonder if COVID has done in what was previously such a good one.

Love this family owned & operated Pizza place. Chris and Danny take their pizza and Italian food very seriously, and it shows. Two brothers from Long Island, with an amazing supporting staff, doing great things. Other than their amazing pizza (BBQ Chicken pizza being my favorite) you should try their sausage and peppers, risotto balls, garlic knots, and caesar salad with chicken. Youll thank me later!

They were very accommodating for a group with an order as big as ours with no notice. Made sure it was all right, the food was all piping hot and delicious. The garlic knots were great. The breadsticks were good. The pizza was a hit and the spaghetti hit the spot. When in the area we will be stopping in again! Thanks for my birthday meal a good one!

We order from Amores all the time and for me its a treat when I get it for myself. On occasion the pizza is over cooked, but they are ALWAYS happy to redo the order without hassle. Ive actually heard the manager talking to his staff saying If you see the customer examining their order and they dont look happy then ask them about it right way. Id rather redo an order than lose a customer. They care and it shows! Just yesterday our delivery ordered pizza was overcooked, I talked to the manager and he delivered the new pizza himself in 15 mins. I LOVE them and the pizza is divinely delicious!

If you like pizza then you will love this place. They have an amazing new york style pizza and the breadsticks are to die for. I dont know if i will ever go anywhere else. Incredible staff with an abnormally friendly vibe. Couldnt ask for more.
We attended a function in their private room. The food was good and there was plenty of seating for about 60. And there was still room for a present table, food table and room to play some simple games. The only downside is that you have to leave the room to get your beverages, but its just on the other side of the wall.
We eat here every Monday. The staff are friendly. The pizza is good and they have good salads too. Large portions on their pasta dinners too. Definitely recommend.

Being a New Yorker, I’m always looking for places to find a good pie and I’m not talking about apple pie. I love this place and the people are great too!If you’re looking for Chicago style pizza then go somewhere else but that’s not what I consider a pizza. To me that’s more of a casserole. Doesn’t mean it’s not good, for each in their own but for me, pizza has to be a big slice and the crust has to be right, the toppings can’t be too much, and you Gotta be able to fold it and eat it on the go for it to be in New York pizza.You know it’s legit when you have what seems like an Italian family business and making food and it reminds me of home. And it’s not just pizza it’s also other things like calzones in lasagna pasta is all the things I remember as a kid. There’s a lot of places in Indy now that claim to have New York pizza but I can tell you that I drive an extra 10 to 15 minutes to eat here any day.Please don’t leave negative comments if you’re Chicago pizza fan because that’s like comparing apples to oranges and if I like apples and go to an orange store I’m not gonna complain. Now, if you want real New York pizza you need New York water so that’s the only other thing that I can see them doing which just wouldn’t be cost-effective. They do a great job and I appreciate the service as well.

We are so thankful for the graciousness of the manager, Chris, who replied quickly to our email reaching out to see if the restaurant can bring dinner for our family who lives more than 20 miles away from the restaurant. We live in Virginia Beach, VA and our relative passed away a few days ago and we wanted to send a meal to our family the day before the memorial service. Kirklin is such a small town that we were having some trouble finding a catering service or delivery to their home. We were so grateful for the accommodation of Chris who was compassionate enough to honor our request and deliver the meal himself. It was really heartwarming to hear Chris offer to deliver the meal himself and also help with recommending what menu items to order. We cannot thank him enough and hope that blessings will come his way because this was sure a blessing in our path. Chris was very courteous, generous and expedient. Thank you Amore and Chris for this much timely needed endeavor. Maybe one day if we ever travel to Indiana we can visit the restaurant and give Chris a big handshake and a hug.
Great food, nice staff and veteran friendly. Went for lunch with my wife and son. Just happened to be wearing my Iraq vet shirt. Owner bought my family lunch. Greatly appreciated. Highly recommended.

Based on the reviews, I expected this pizza to be amazing. I ordered 2 Sicilian style pizzas .... However, I found that it lacked flavor and the sauce was very sugary. The dough in the middle of the pizza was raw. Very disappointing..... save your money folksA coworker just ordered Amore pizza on 2/21 and I thought I would try it ...this pizza was even worse than the original pizza I ordered ....they ordered the stuff pizza. There was no sauce on the pizza it was super super salty had no flavor other than salt! They also ordered Italian rice balls which were soggy and had a ricotta filling that was cold. We called Amore to complain they didn’t care they hung up on us

Pizza is like fashion. Everybody has their likes. I have tasted Pizza from a rude New Yorker....true mana! BUT I have to say that Amore has some GOOD pizza! They have clever taste combinations, and an assortment of pizza related products like calzone and dessert pizzas.Their atmosphere is of the - after sport practice..lets bring the team theme. Bring your earplugs and lots of napkins. Last I checked they dont deliver, but I have seen 3rd party delivery services pick up their pizzas.

Im giving this a 5 stars; the pizza and bread sticks were the best! The place is clean, and theres a separate room that would be nice for parties or a luncheon, it has a stone wall that adds to the decor.The tables are set up for wheelchair accessibility, nice bathrooms.Prices are very reasonable, food tasted fresh, with just the right seasoning.One suggestion for the owner, place small signage by each type of pre-cooked pizzas so customers could make their selections and stafg didnt have to repeat the ingredients to each customer.Well defintely coming back with the family.

We have eaten here many times and always liked it. This time was different. The girl taking our order messed our pizza up to the point where we didnt even know it was ours when it came to the table :( Garlic knots came to the table warm on the outside but not inside (twice). We checked our bill to realize we were charged for cheese sauce we didnt ask for. It never came to the table so my wife asked for it. One good point was the young man who was carrying orders to the table was well mannered and seemed like a nice kid. Food was ok but not great.
We do enjoy going to Amore. Usually good pizza with big slices. Greek Salad also a good choice and the lunch special is reasonable price with Garlic Knots an a drink.
I came in here and saw that they had flies landing on the pizzas. And when I told the employees that they should probably do something about it they just stared me for a few seconds and went back to do what they were doing and just kept serving the pizza slices that the flies had landed on. 🤮🤢 that’s just disgusting I could never eat here again.
