The pasta looked really good but flavor wise could be way better! It tasted a little bland and so did the chicken tenders. Presentation was perfect for the pasta and the chicken tenders were a little tough and flavorless. overall wasn’t bad but could definitely be better!

What a wonderful place! Our first time to try this great little restaurant tucked away in a Cambridge neighborhood. Lots of choices for pasta dishes with 4 different types of homemade pasta. We ordered the Chicken Parmiggiana and the Chicken Cacciatore on penne. Truly appreciate the extra large portions of each dish. There was quite a bit of take out business. Folks ordered lots of pasta dishes as well as pizzas. Such a wonderful place. You will also enjoy the food and the experience at Basta Pasta.

Took this food takeout. Have to say that I enjoyed the quality and the portions. Got the chicken parmesan and some steamed broccoli. Chicken parmesan was very tasty, but the pasta surrounding it needed a but more salt and savoriness to it. I felt that the chicken was doing most of the work for this dish.The steamed broccoli was ok, but definitely needed some flavoring to it. Steamed lemon broccoli isnt the most appetizing.

Basta Pasta is a wonderful lowkey pasta place in Cambridge! They serve so many varieties of pasta and pizza and the serve it in less than 10 minutes which is so quick. We got the chicken and broccoli, chicken parm and pasts bolognese and everything tasted great. You have to check it out if you live in the area!

Fast and pocket friendly takeout. They have a cute little outlet which currently doesn’t do dine-in. They were generous enough to let me order my takeout just 10 mins before closing time. The tomato cheese ravioli is by far the best I’ve had in and around Boston. Tiramisu was splendid and you can tell that it’s made well. Definitely recommend ordering from Basta Pasta.

Fantastic food! I had their smoked ham and gouda pizza and was blown away by the moistness of the sauce and the taste of the cheese! Plus, the use of ham reminded me of the way they do pizzas in Europe. Their pasta Bolognese and cheese garlic bread were excellent too. Im definitely going back!

Quick stop spot for pizza and pasta. Dropped by to try their meatball pomodoro, and I liked how they prepared everything in less than 10 minutes. Meatball was nice and flavorful, pomodoro sauce was okay, but the linguini was a bit disappointing - it was cooked ben cotta instead of al dente. For takeouts, the heat retained in the container can still cook the pasta, so it is important that they are slightly undercooked when packed. However, it seemed like they overcooked before they packaged it. Nevertheless, all the other components of the dish was cooked with fresh ingredients including the meat, basil, and the tomato sauce, and I enjoyed it overall.

Truly fulfilled my pasta craving. I got chicken marsala and my husband had chicken parm. The servings were very generous and pickup was very easy.

I recently went & ordered the meatball pomodoro. It. was. delicious! I literally wanted to high five someone when I bit into the meatball. Ive also ordered pizza here in the past & it is also delicious.

I know this is an Italian place but talk about the best hamburger Ive had in a long time. I know people feel like you should get a good burger from a burger joint not me Im getting mine from right here. Well seasoned moist fresh and I wouldnt buy a burger from anywhere else. Oh yeah their french fries are like from fresh cut potatoes with The skin on them. Their fries are hot and fresh You cant go wrong

What a gem of a find. They make great handmade pasta. The sauces are excellent. Portions are large so expect to take some home or back to the hotel. We didnt try the pizza but several got takeout so I expect the pizza is a good option also.

The food was very good. I really enjoyed my ziti pasta with chicken. The white sauce on top was great. The serving size was plentiful. The customer service though seemed indifferent. I have been here twice now, about a year apart. I would describe the experience about the same each time. Good food. Service, so so.

Ordered catering for a company meeting. Everything was delicious and the quantity for the price was really impressive. Everyone was happy and full. Leftovers were just as good as the first day. I will definitely order from here again!

When I walk in no one!!! Had mask on or gloves I was so disappointed I saw the guy in the front working the register then he turn around and made someone garlic bread!!! So nasty there to much going on for people to act careless, please watch where you eat but I will never eat here at all after this

Recipes seem a little different from what they used to be. Maybe sightly less authentic feeling but absolutely still delicious. The chicken marsala with fresh fusilli is still amazing. No in store seating during covid.

It was good food but they need to get a second door on the outside so that cold air doesnt flood into the small restaurant. Pasta was decent but the pizza was not edge-locked so the ingredients fell off. Overall, good food for the money.

The meatballs were hot as was the bread. The bread was however burned. The Caesar salad was disappointing from a genuine Italian restaurant. The lettuce was cut into large 2” or so lengths. Not what I would expect. The dressing? WATERED DOWN!!! Thin thin thin!!! The cannolis were just as watered down. One bite and the center just flowed everywhere. I had to finish them with a spoon! Honestly guys, I have gotten better food, better prepared from Olive Garden. A very poor first and probably last experience. I spent over 40 bucks for a good meal. What I got was second rate.

Everything made in house. Pasta, sauces, etc. Very small place, does lots of carry. Only 6 or so tables, and you order and pick up your food at the front counter, but the food is very good.

Great restaurant and even greater staff and service. The dishes are really tasty and big in accordance to American sizes. The pasta is really good so I highly recommend this place to everyone. It opens until late and if you are a student living nearby this is the perfect place for you.

I think some of the ratings are a bit inflated. The food was really good for the location but if it was in the middle of the North End or in Central, Harvard or Kendall Square it would only be average. We had a pizza, Caesar salad and a pasta dish. The pizza sauce was TOP NOTCH and the stand out of anything we had. The rest of the food was just like good home cooking which is notable on its own but not the best food ever.

So delicious! I definitely recommend if you like pizzas or pastas!

A great hole-in-the-wall Italian counter-service restaurant. No reservations and tables fill up fast on weekend nights, so be sure to get there early if youre planning to dine in. The homemade fusilli is delicious and the chicken broccoli risotto is a personal favorite. And dont forget to start with arancini!

I had the chicken Parmesan with the homemade fusilli pasta (its a small upgrade but I would recommend it!).You order at the counter, but then they bring the food out to you. I ordered the chicken piccata, which comes with an option of linguine or penne (I opted for linguine). My friend ordered the chicken Marsala, which she also got with linguine.

Ive only had pasta and a couple of sandwiches here, as well as the arancini. Several times. All of it was fantastic. The red sauce has a great homemade taste, pasta is cooked just right Its a small place with only a few tables, and food is mostly made to order, so you have to wait a little, but its definitely worth it.

This place serves excellent fresh food. We were hesitant but, we were so glad we went in and ordered dinner. I tried the buffalo chicken pizza and my friend had the chicken piccata pasta with linguini.Everything tasted delicious. Some of the other dishes coming from the kitchen looked fantastic too. Give this place a try, you’ll be glad you did. We will definitely be coming back.

So good. I go here approximately once a week and I havent gotten bored yet. Its hard to find Italian food this good outside of the North End (and this place is significantly cheaper too). They dont deliver, though.

Great neighborhood takeout spot. Chicken parm with ziti is great, good portion size and a value meal that can be split into two meals if need be. Calling in to order food doesnt work too great, but the online order system works well. Food usually takes 15-20min to cook (worth the wait), you were warned.

Came here twice, caught a stomach bug soon after both times... only later noticed the connection. Place sounds good on reviews, but food was bland even the second time around. Not sure if the owner changed or something, but do not recommend at all.

The pasta wasnt bad and the portion was sizable. But at nearly $15 for a chicken marsala, I was expecting a little more, either in the amount of pasta itself or in the quality of the dish. I walked away appeased but not wholly satisfied.

This place has been incredible for years. We have eaten here probably 50+ times and its always a great experience. Everything is home made and they take pride in their work. The manager Altin is super friendly and really knowlagable.

The food is good especially the pasta not the best but the best option there in its area. The only reason I give a 3 and not a 4, or 5 is the customer service. If time I’ve been in the place they always give a fishy look to like something is wrong. And one time the reg girl asked if the debit card was mine :| I just don’t understand????

We also ordered 2 cannolis, which were honestly the best cannolis weve ever eaten.The customer service was wonderful-- the cashier patiently answered our questions, provided recommendations, and even gave us free tiramisu at the end of our visit!10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for less-pricey but high-quality Italian food in a cheerful, family-oriented setting

I read alot of good things about the pasta here, and the food did not disappoint. A nice little spot to grab a good meal. The staff can be a bit gruff, and arent particularly cordial... so dont be surprised. But if you can stomach their brusque style, the food wil make you smile.
