I got the pastor tacos. Which were actually not too bad. Not very greasy which I like. The rice and beans are nice and well cooked too. The salsas are a little watery and not my kind of salsa but they’re not terrible. Only complaint is whoever made my to go plate threw onions all over the food. Had onions with every bite of beans and rice. But overall not too bad. I will be going back In hopes they don’t throw onions everywhere.

This was my first visit to Carniceria La Altena. I had the daily special, a tasty pork dish with rice, beans, and hot tortillas (choice of corn or flour) served with two delicious salsas. All for $5.99 ($6.48 with tax). The restaurant was quiet and the food was hot. The corn tortillas were above average. Carniceria La Altena is a great option for a good meal on a budget.

Its a small store but I have been coming here for years. Meat prices are decent just wish they had a better selection with other stuff. Be sure to try the food at the restaurant next door.

Ate 4 tacos and they were so good, had to get the burrito which was just as amazing! The only unfortunate thing were the folks that came in and sat behind us. They were just outright rude to the waitress and for people with heavy Texan accents, really should know what cilantro is rather than telling the waitress you dont want that green leafy stuff. I felt so bad for the staff having to put up with their behavior...and the fact they walked in at 7 min til closing. Anywho...food awesome, staff equally awesome.

It does not have much meat to choose when buying. But other the shop is fine.
