My 16 year old daughters car broke down on a Friday night. We had it towed to the nearest dealership, Acton Subaru, since we had just purchased the car (from a different dealer).I drove in Saturday to confirm that someone in the SERVICE Dept. knew the car was there and that they had the keys. I was met by a standoffish, cold man who said yeah, but we arent getting to it until at least Monday. That is not why I was there, but anyway...Forward to Tuesday. Car was fixed, so I checked website quickly to see how late they were open.At 6.02 pm I pulled in seeing the same service rep closing the door. I had mistakenly read the closing time as 7pm not 6. I did not ask him to let me in, but he just opened the door and walked in. So my daughter and I followed. He was cold and rude and made it a point to read the proper closing times to me and my daughter. My 16 year old daughter saw firsthand what manners should NOT look like if you choose the service industry.I was given my keys without a thank you for your business or any goodbye.I will NEVER go back for that simple reason.HIRE your employees carefully, Village Subaru. I cringe at the idea that the man may have been a MANAGER!

Incredible service. The process was easy. They helped me to set up insurance, the price of the vehicle was more than reasonable and the car itself is pristine. My previous car broke only the day before I got the new one and I was able to drive off the lot same day. 100% would recommend Village Subaru.

Last summer, I did a simple oil change and change of a pair of brake pads. I asked them to take a look at my AC because it was blowing very little cold air. (my car is out of warranty). I was told that AC unit is a closed loop and as long as the air is not warm, it is ok and that nothing could be done to remedy the issue. Almost a year later, I took my car to my mechanic and he refilled the AC with the liquid and it is ice cold now. This dealership did not give me this choice. They did not even inspect my AC. It seems that this was a dishonest tactic to get me to change my whole AC unit in the future or they simply did not care to inspect it. They get 2 stars for changing my oil and my brake pads properly. Because of this dealership, I was driving my car with borderline warm AC for almost a year.

We recently were introduced to Village Subaru due to an unfortunate accident on Interstate 495. We live in New York and found them quite by chance when our Subaru had to be towed to the nearest dealership. From the first telephone call to driving off the lot less than a day later, the Management and Staff of Village Subaru were nothing less than outstanding. Courteous, friendly, helpful - they pulled out all the stops and what started as an averted tragedy, with their assistance, ended up a bump on the road. THANK YOU to Mark and the Service Team for going the extra mile to help us. Oh, and did I mention that the cost was far less than expected and that they rearranged reservations to get us back on the road? Well... I just did! Faith in humanity restored.

My XV was making weird noise in both front and rear wheels, so I took the car to the closest dealership (in Belmont). They said I need to change the rear bearings, plates, and brake pads, and said it would cost about $2k. Considering relatively low mileage (59K), I wasnt so happy to hear this news. But I didnt have that kind of cash on hand. So I drove the car home despite their warning and called Village Subaru. Village Subaru gave me a much better quote on the phone (about 60% of the other shop) and also scheduled me for a recall fix that the Belmont shop couldnt schedule me in for more than a year (they had waitlist of more than 100 people). Upon inspecting the car, Village Subaru not only changed all the parts but covered it under manufacturer warranty. So long story short, they saved me about 2k and fixed the recall issue without making me wait. There are two lessons to be learned here: 1. They didnt make me wait for fixing the recall - this says a lot about where they put their priorities. 2. They bothered to check the warranty so they can save me money, which shows they care about client relationship more than making a quick buck.I will only go to Village Subaru from now on.

We purchased a car from Village at the end of December 2018. We bought the car with Neils help which was a pleasant experience. The issue I have is with the finance department. We paid $600 for a Subaru Added Security Plan - sounded great when we were sold the product, things like oil changes, tired rotations would be covered. One oil change and tire rotation was covered, but then when I went to go get a second oil change they said I had reached my max number of miles. Thats when I found out that it was covered up to 24,000 miles or 24 months. We purchased the vehicle used with 11,000 miles. After I investigated my files about what we purchased I contacted Jim in finance for an explanation. I thought it sounded a little excessive to me - we paid $600 for a service plan and got 1 oil change and 1 tire rotation. I sent numerous emails and left a voicemail and did not ever receive a full explanation. I gave up chasing Village for an answer about the service plan. I guess overall, I am just disappointed with the customer service. I felt like they viewed my request for an explanation as an inconvenience. Maybe its my fault and I should have done my due diligence when purchasing the coverage, but I thought I would at least get the respect of an explanation. I will not be doing business at Village Subaru ever again.

I am very unhappy with my recent service at Village Subaru in Acton, MA1. They stopped the detailing which I loved and was something I appreciated when I decided to buy a Subaru2 I had two main reason I took my car in for service- Back up camera clamp was broken- Wire to rear view mirror came undone.- When I picked up my car they didn’t fix the back up camera and never called and told me it was a problemNever looked into options to replace.- As I was driving home I saw the rear view mirror wasn’t fixed either. When I complained at the counter about the camera - the rep was unapologetic and only had excuses. Speaking to him left me more angry. When I saw the rear view mirror wasn’t fixed I then called and the manager was busy.My faith in buying Subaru’s has been shaken. I helped my mother purchase a car here and I would not do it again.Lets start off with the parking. You need to park all the way in the back unless youre lucky and manage to grab the very few spots available on the side. The inside is VERY small. Theyre able to fit barely 2 cars inside and that leaves little room for the desks. If you talk to someone via email or text and try and work something out.. dont expect them to come up and say hi to you when you walk in the store. We were just passed off to someone else and they mentioned the deal were getting to the salesperson. There wasnt even anybody waiting by the door when we walked in. We stood there for 3 minutes before anyone even asked what we needed. That was unprofessional. Even the GM or sales manager didnt stop by to say a word. I purchased a different brand from elsewhere and I was greeted by both the sales manager and owner of the dealership. The finance person even forgot to ask if we wanted any accessories or anything to add to the loan. So we had to pay out of pocket for floor mats because he said it was too late.Dont fall for their destination fee add on after they provide you with a quote. They may seem cheaper, but they dont mention that the fee is not added to the quote until you wasted your time by walking into the store.Shop elsewhere.

Overdue review here, but needs to be stated. Excellent experience. I bought a 17 Outback—first ever Subaru, back in late November. Did all of my research well beforehand (KBB, test rode every car even remotely under consideration, etc.), so it was just a matter of finding the best deal, trade-in, and so forth. This strategy worked very well. After aligning everything by phone and email, I was in and out with a new car in under 40 minutes. No pressure, no hassle, just plain impressive. Now, on to service: I’ve long been accustomed to doing as much work on my car as possible; just a point of pride and practicality. So when I called to ask what maintenance I needed to do, they were just honest and direct. Some time later, I had a hitch installed, and was given a very good price, and a free loaner for the day. Very nice; very professional; pleasant atmosphere; completely right.I simply ponder why I have driven a Honda all these years... Never going back to that brand anytime soon, and that’s a great car/company. So this says a lot about Subaru, and of Village in particular.

Do not go here, they are dangerously irresponsible in their lack of care or ability to complete any sort of maintenance. I brought my vehicle in for an oil change and general maintenance, particularly asking if the breaks were ready to be replaced and to check on a weird noise the vehicle was making. Upon receiving the car back, they told me the noise was fixed and that the breaks were fine at least until the next service date if not longer.Fast-forward a few weeks later and not only is the sound not fixed, but one of my rear brakes has completely failed. Break pad gone, cutting metal into the roter. This is not the breaks are fine, the breaks shouldve been replaced that visit. Now several months later I am due for my next oil change. Just 100 miles over the mile marker of when to bring it in and what do you know, the low oil light comes on. After everything else they seemed to have glossed over, I wonder if they even changed the oil in the first place.Avoid this place at all costs. Their incompetence could have literally resulted in a serious accident or damage to the car and us.

Got a true taste of their arrogance and indifference when I went to the service department to enquire about the quote for a replacement key for my rental car that was towed there to get a new key made. The three guys sitting at the service desk could care less about me waiting. Eventually I walked up to one man who was extremely rude and didn’t bother answering my question and just said “Ask the other guy if you have to” while not even looking at me or acknowledging my presence. When I obliged and waited for the other guy to finish speaking on phone, he just said “I don’t know” again while not even looking at me as I struggled to be noticed by him and ended the conversation.Being a Subaru owner, I would never go here to buy or get service and that would be my recommendation to friends and family. It is situations like this that show their true character, not the times when they do all the sweet talk to sell you a car or some engine oil.People may buy cars at dealers that up charge them. But they will never buy cars at dealers who make they feel bad.EDIT (in response to owner)I wasn’t there Monday, I visited your location on Wednesday. Anyway a couple of things.1. It was the rental car company that decided to get the car towed to your location, not me. It’s unfortunate that they did not follow up with you. However, inspire of not being responsible for the rental, I did my best to inform you and even left your location a voice message on Saturday.2. While I called for assistance around 4pm in the evening, the towing guy picked the car up sometime after midnight and dropped it off at your location, how am I responsible for that?Although I do understand that might have inconvenienced you, I don’t think it is a reason to treat someone poorly and with disrespect, especially knowing how little control I had over the situation. Please don’t confuse two separate things, this is about how badly was treated when I visited your service center to inquire about something. It was plainly humiliating and painful how I was treated.

I took it in for service and then a day later i go to pick up my car and they tell me that there are NO issues with the car. There was no way you can get in my car and not hear at least one of the issues. I decided to take it to another Subaru dealership to get the answers i needed. I took it for a test drive with the manager technician over at the other dealership and before we left the parking lot he heard half of the noises and issues that I was talking about. Im very disappointed. The technician at Village Subaru definitely did not take my car for a test drive like it was stated on the paper. And if he did he was lying about not hearing any issues. Im just confused and disappointed. I bought the car from Village Subaru and i wouldve expected to be taken care of. Unfortunately I was not . I will not go there to service my car. While they have a great selection of cars and offer good service work, the sales experience for me was good until the end. Things that were said to be done were not (car was handed over to me not inspected so I had to take it myself to get an inspection). Also just found out that things that were supposed to be taken care of by the dealership were not, they never paid the taxes on the car as was agreed to, so when renewing my registration I find myself paying a bunch of extra money for things that have fallen into collections through no fault of my own. My sales associate was helpful and passionate about the cars and I feel like I got a fair price for the vehicle, but the lack of follow through on completing agreed upon details for registering and handing off the car to me, which required me to then spend my own money on what should already be taken care of left a really poor taste in my mouth. I wouldnt say dont do business here, but make sure they are actually taking care of the things they say they are.

In fact I am happy that they are attempting to make things right before I fully purchased the vehicle. However, I was then told that the part was going to be in on Tuesday and that I could pick up the car then. Tuesday came around and I received a call that it would not be ready and to come pick it up on Thursday. Now having it postponed two times, I called back on Wednesday to check if it was going to be ready on Thursday (I have to arrange a ride due to the distance that I live away from the dealership). Great experience overall. Our sales person Lincoln was smart, our advocate, and had a charming, funny and authentic way about him. Were already referring friends to him and the dealership. And we love our new car.

Had problem with steering being hard to turn, I expected it was simply belt, or old fluid clogging in pump but was afraid that like many dealers (Boch) they would try to sell me new pump or worse, but they said it was just belt and it was a reasonable $90 to fix. I just may make a new Subaru from Village Subaru my next choice again rather than my default to Toyota as it is usually lower cost of ownership

Absolutely the worst service department in existence anywhere Ive been there three times and each time they made serious mistakes or didnt fix the problem when they said they did. I will never go there again.

I was greeted by not so friendly semi rude man, Keith Koreblum who did not explain what was needed to be done to my car. He looked in the computer and brought up the wrong person and asked me if I was Christian, I gave him the recall letter with my name etc. on it. Not a good start!! The two other represenitives were very helpful.

Brought my car in for service. The staff was professional. Theres wifi and tv in the waiting area, which is good because theres no scenery to look at... unless your into parked cars and people watching. The service was fairly quick considering I was one of three people waiting. They did my oil change and even was offered to update my stereo/radio system-updates. I will be going back.

Sales and service - I brought my 2017 CPO Forrester in for service on Saturday, after receiving warnings: engine overheating, check emission, check battery, check engine, and being towed 60 miles. I picked my car up today, service replaced the serpentine belt. I noticed before driving out of the parking lot that the AC was, again, not working (serviced 3 days ago). Less than 3 miles down the road, I get warnings the engine is overheating again. I dont want to explode, but I cannot sit on the side of the road and be towed for the 2nd time in 3 days... so I drove back to service. Very unexpected. Purchased CPO with less than 30k miles 6 months ago. Though my vehicle passed Subarus thorough CPO inspection, I was sold a vehicle with windows that didnt open and close and the AC hasnt worked since the first time I tried using it.

Purchased our 2012 Forester from dealership. Brought it in for servicing when the check engine light came on. They didnt actually check the engine (which was leaking oil). Hooked it up to the computer and replaced cat/converter, but didnt actually check engine. Less than a month later and the engine is ruined due to lack of oil. Five year old car, just paid off with a useless engine due to service staff not checking engine when we brought the car in due to check engine light. Terrible service at Village Subaru AND Subaru America Customer Service. Will never buy a Subaru again!!!

I brought my car in for a service and they told me my clutch bearing was going. I told them I wanted to bring it to another mechanic for a second opinion. I drove the car 15 or 20 feet before it died. Think it was still a clutch issue I had it towed to my local mechanic. He later informed me that the bearing had seized and exploded which destroyed my transmission. Now the repair quadrupled in cost and the service department is taking no responsibility for not informing me that driving the car could cause further damage. Bearings exploding and tearing up transmission is not a common problem, but I was able to find multiple examples after one quick google search. The service department has no excuse for not knowing that I could cause further damage to my car driving it. So they are either incompetent or negligent.I have been a loyal Subaru owner for 17 years, but Village Subaru may have changed that.

As the second member of my family to purchase a new vehicle here, I have been quite pleased at having been treated much better than at any other dealer in forty years of buying new cars.In addition, after owning that car for seven years and always having it serviced here, I just purchased my second new vehicle from them.

My family bought 3 Subarus from here in the past. Wanted to shop local so though they have never been really friendly, wanted to go there again. The worst experience ever. As I walked in, the dude at the front desk asked “what do you want?” I said I’m here to buy a car. Instantly without assigning a salesperson, walks me out and I saw a Legacy and asked what’s the Milage and price, his response “I don’t know, I have to check.” Just an example of his rudeness. And next he asked me - “what exactly do you want ? I told him nicely “you don’t seem to be willing to give me any information, I don’t know what’s your problem sir, assign me a salesman”. The salesman was briefed by him and he really wasn’t someone who’d make your experience good . It was rather a sad experience because. If you don’t look like “ one of THEM”, regardless of how much money you have and what you can afford, I don’t recommend you going to this dealership . You won’t be respected for your business .

We were pleasantly pleased to work with Zac at the dealership today. He has a nice, quiet manner and a good listener. Weve been to a few dealerships and not found a sales rep we felt listened to what we were looking for. We went in for a used Forester and Zac worked with us to show us how we could purchase a new Forester within the budget we can in with. We were very happy with the service. Debbie H

Sell it and forget it: a tale of two dealerships.During the sales process: helpful, responsive, accommodating. We bought a used Impreza for our daughter. Very happy with the car itself.Post sales: unresponsive, ignoring us. No follow-ups or check-ins (as we get from other dealerships). And then they stiffed us for $160 of parts we returned. Sales rep (Jim H), manager (John Olesen) and finance guy (Chris C) all completely ignored us. Initially responded via email saying they would take care of it - now they wont even acknowledge our calls or emails. Certainly wont be servicing our car there - and I guess we will shop elsewhere for the new Outback for my wife. Very disappointed.

When I visited, I was stuck between a Subaru and another type of vehicle. I was leaning towards the Subaru and was serious about buying, until I test drove a vehicle at this place. I called in advance to ensure they had the model I wanted with a manual transmission on the lot. They confirmed, and when I showed up a few hours later, they told me it sold the weekend prior. A nuisance, but OK, no biggie. While he was running around, I noticed that he had forms with peoples sensitive information on his desk. Not exactly professional. They had me test drive another car, a 2014 - the car sounded horrendous. Turns out, it wasnt even a 2014 (as I pointed out to him --- knowledgeable, no?). He tried to low-ball me on my trade-in and was condescending when I told him my budget (which, with the trade-in and numbers I collected from TrueCar and KBB, was reasonable). Then he tried to sell me the vehicle I test drove at a blowout price! that definitely had engine/transmission issues. I guess I looked like easy prey. Skip the games and this place.

Do not bring your Subaru here. These clowns misplaced my tire pressure monitor gauge from my 6 month Subaru and to replace it will be $120 out of my pocket. John the manager refuses any responsibility and in fact blames me for having a tire change over service done and that this triggered my gauge falling off instead of facing the reality that it was either stolen or broken off by his team. These hacks are completely incompetent and have no right being in business. They take no ownership of their work and do not care about their customers whatsoever. I will never go here again and urge everyone reading this to take your Subaru elsewhere so youre not also missing parts and out money.

Great experience and great car. I bought this car from them almost a year ago and it was a switch from the toyota that I had been with since the late 70s. I dealt with Erik and it was a great experience, none of the usual dlr stuff just straight forward and if a mistake happened hed fix it.The car and the service have been superb, couldnt be happier
