One of my all time favorite local gems. Don Drumm Studios is magical. I’ve been visiting this studio with my mom since I was a child and it’s always been such a treat to wander through this enchanting gallery. Any season is a wonderful time to go but I’m especially partial to visits around Christmas because everything is festive. Definitely take time to explore this space. I love collecting the metalwork ornaments and the kids toys are unique too. I’ve collected beautiful pieces of jewelry and witty home decor items from here. They also do a wonderful job with gift wrapping.

Stopped in today 11-4-21. If you havent seen the retrospective yet I highly recommend it. Amazing..... Staff go over and beyond. NE OhiO Represent !!

This is a wonderful place to browse in a gallery setting. Drumm’s work is prolific and world-renowned. There is so much to take in visually it is astonishing. This is a wonderful place to shop for any occasion because the artwork is often purposeful ( they have candelabras, menorahs, kitchen ware that is as useful as it is collectible, key chains, key holders, decorative wall art that is museum quality of every size and shape imaginable). Each room is a treasure trove for the senses and delights people of every age and background. The staff is always helpful and knowledgeable. Allow lots of time to browse every nook and cranny of each room it’s so worth your time.

I doubt that any other place can have as many skilled artisans displaying their beautiful works. Prices are reasonable. The stars of the show are master artists Don drum and his wife. Make sure you check out the cast aluminum pieces that can be displayed outdoors.

Absolutely I do not miss place. We got three beautiful pottery pieces, made by some gentleman that is retired so they are extremely unique. If Id had the money I would have bought 90% of the jewelry there were so many interesting beautiful things there. Dont miss the mobile display outside

What a great gallery/shop tucked away near the University of Akron in whimsically decorated houses! Ive lived in the Akron area for most of my life and cant believe Ive never made it here before. Its a great place to browse and/or find a unique gift! I cant wait to take our out of town visitors to see it once the pandemic is over so we can browse in a more relaxed fashion.

Wow, what a special place! Having not been to Akron in 20 yrs, I was not aware that EVERYONE knows of this gem. If you have a couple spare hours go there, your head will spin looking and admiring each and every corner of the complex.

There is something for everyone here while buckeyes fall from the trees.

Very nice gallery! I liked all the displays and the variety of artists-- but things here can be pricey. Theyre well worth the cost, but this is not a cheap place. The staff was wonderful and their second store, the different drummer was also lovely.

Quaint, eclectic art gallery situated close to the University of Akron. Drumm is a local institution, working primarily in cast aluminum. The gallery showcases Drumms work, but includes an extensive selection of other artists as well.

Don Drumm is a staple to the Akron area. His work is amazing! The shops are full to the top with beautiful, creative from Don and a hundred or so other talented artists. Some things are expensive but a treasure to pass on in Familys. Go check it out!

This is a great local Akron art studio. It is a bit expensive, but when you want unique artwork, that is what you should expect. They do have small pieces that are not that expensive. They also offer free gift wrapping, which is a plus. The sales associates are all very friendly and helpful. This is a great place to purchase a nice unique item.

Their artwork is indeed unique. If you are gifted with a piece and its not your thing, you are greeted with a curt go sell it on ebay. Not exactly what I would expect from a reputable dealer in fine art. Ebay prices would indicate that their art does NOT have anywhere near the street value that they sell for. By all means look here, but then go buy what you want on ebay.

Youll understand why once you visit.There are actually two stores: One that primarily sells Drumms own work and a select few other artists, and a gift shop that sells assorted types of items. There are also items on display outdoors in the patio area between the buildings. If youre in the area, its well worth the trip.

This studio is a great place to shop. Local artist, huge selection, unique items. Perfect for gifts and they are always appreciated. Sometimes can be a bit crowded. So much to see, recommend you take your time going thru this shop.

If you havent been to Don Drumm you should go! I have been coming here for years! I get my daughters a Don Drumm gift every Christmas. They always look for the beautiful wrapping under the tree.

There is a lot of really cool stuff there. There is something for just about any budget. Its Kool just to walk through and see everything. In plan on going back every now and again to see new art. The different drummer next door is really awesome too. I highly recommend checking it out.

I brag about this place to all my out of town friends. We have something unique here in Akron. Truly you can find something for anyone here. Just so many beautiful finds here. My favorite shopping experience.

I didnt have long to pursue the gallery, but the sheer number of works was surprising. The place is huge. The pieces that I did get a chance to look at were great.

Always a variety of arts, sculptures, and crafts. Different Drummer had fashion accessories, Akron memorabilia, unique knick-knacks. Always something new to see. Guest artist days always bring something fresh. Definitely for those who love the eclectic.

Even though I didnt find anything that spoke to me on our recent visit, I did find some great xmas gifts for the lady. And, as last year, called with a case number and item...paid and had it shipped to me! Thanks for the help as always and maybe one day Ill find MY special Drumm item :)

The studio and gallery is amazing so many pieces of art you hardly know where to look first. The yard art is absolutely beyond words to describe these artists truly have an eye for creative. We only get back to Akron every few years, but this year it was at the top of my list of places to visit. I did purchase a few items made by Leona Bowser, sun catchers are her specialty among other items like jewelry.

An Akron treasure, Mr Drumm owns most of the block and has dedicated it to his unique art and that of other artists, local and otherwise. The main building is crammed with various art pieces, plus theres another gallery/gift shop and a church turned glass blowing studio caddy corner. A lot to see and art ranging from $5 to $4000.+

The gallery is stunning and a fantastic place to find unique gifts. The only reason I put 4 stars is because it can be very difficult to find parking if the store is busy. The gallery itself is also very tiny, which is hard to navigate if there are lots of people there.

It is one of the nicer things to do in Akron if you like art. I was impressed by the wide range of art and the quality of the art. It made me feel like I was walking in a museum but you can afford to buy them. The items are reasonably priced for their quality. The art have a whimsical and amusing quality to it which I like.

This was my first visit and, WOW!! So much to see and experience. The art work available for sale, is so beautiful and diverse. There is a little secret garden with many whimsical art pieces for your own garden. You may even get a chance to meet Don Drumm.You must visit Don Drumm Studio in Middlebury, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Akron.

Such a nice hidden gem in Acton. Loved everything in the studio. Parking in front can get full pretty quickly since theres only a few spots but there is street parking available too.

Don and his art have been inOur lives for over 40 yrs. and he has attracted many other artists to show and sell their works.Great folks behind the counter! Plenty of parking. Lovely and fun!!

They do have some really nice things, overpriced as you would imagine but not horribly so. Its cramped during the holiday season both with shoppers and with staff members standing around getting in the way. Last year I found the perfect thing at the perfect price. This year I found a few things I thought might work but they were just too severely overpriced. I mean the things are all unique, one of a kind objects but how much is a bowl really worth to you is the question. The light switch cover things by Leandra Drumm are adorable. The music was obtrusive and so were the staff. People dont seem to get how severely the choice of music can impact an experience. Jazz/folk is a niche market, some people love it and some hate it. Its worth a look for sure if you dont want to buy the same old sweater and who does? You might strike gold and you might just strike your head against the wall when trying to see past a staff member passive-aggressively dusting a shelf when youre trying to shop. Tis the season.

This is a great local artist. His style isnt really for me, but he definitely has a ton of neat work. There is also other artwork mixed into part of the gift shop. The only thing I would change is the setup of the shop - its almost divided into two former houses, and its a little confusing on where to go. However, I like that they are using existing structures in Akron.
