Best book store to buy gifts at. The workers are very helpful and friendly. I could spend hours here looking around. I love their political section. Very socially conscious book store.

I really love a book store! I love this one because its local and in a nice walking area. I always stop in here when Im close and I can never resist buying a book or 5. The cashiers are always nice. I do wish they had a bigger selection for early readers though. But for everyone else this is a great place to buy books! #shoplocal

It was really nice place. There was enough of a variety that I could bring my kids and they would find something they would enjoy. My wife was able to find stuff that she needed for a school assignment and I found a few books I would have gotten if money wasnt tight. I will definitely bring my kids here atleast once in their life to find a good book worth reading together as a family.

For a small chain bookseller, and the Alameda store having not much square footage, their selections of categories and individual titles are impressive. Clean and well lighted. And, I have never been in any bookstore where the staff did not love what they do and Books, Inc folks are of that persona.My most recent visit was to order a title* that was published 2 years before I was born and that I fully expected to be out of print. I love bookstores. This is an exceptional nice clean bookstore. There is a childrens section, magazine section and general supply of reading materials. There r plenty of seating areas prior to making a purchase. Come and take the time to relax and entertain your mind.

Selection is weak n service is almost non existent. Several times workers will barge in front of you to stock shelves. Rude especially n these covid times.They have a return policy for books so r the new books ur buying new? Wouldnt like a read book at new book prices n god knows what kind of fingers have thumbed thru it. Strange. I think book chains have a wider selection at better, cheaper prices.

Exactly as it has always been. Clean, knowledgeable and helpful. Its nice to wander around real books and knick knacks. Definitely worth a visit.

I went on february 14th 2021 and let me tell you when i say i had a rlly good experience than any bookstore or library ive been to. i mean it! The cash person was super nice and a comfortable person to talk to ❤ i recommend going to that store. Personally i would 100% go back sometime again this year!

Books Inc is a wonderful old fashion book store that prides it self on customer service and selection. If they dont have it, they will get it for you. It is really nice to be able to handle a book and skim it before buying it. Get a true feel for it. Miss those days and this store still provides that top notch service. They do offer senior discounts.

Love this small bookstore for its large selection paperback fiction. The non-fiction also good with many arrivals available. On downside, it has only small selection on business and computer books. Overall, its a great bookstore with kind helpful staff and a fairly large number of magazine titles to choose from as well.

Books Inc is the last of the great independent book stores. Its always stocked with a large variety of books, but in case the book you want is not there, the staff will order any book and have it available in as little as two days. Plus they support writers and have book launches and readings frequently. Books Inc is a terrific alternative to Amazon and by purchasing books at Books Inc. you support a local business that gives back to the community.

Haven on Park! I could (and do..) spend hours in this place. Were so lucky to be walking distance from such a great book shop. Selection is great and staff has always been helpful in ordering books to the shop if they dont already have it. A plus - they have a discount for teachers!

Great little store. Well-staffed with helpful and enthusiastic people. If they dont have it, theyll order it and call you when its in. Its a wonderful place to reinforce the kids love of reading, especially when the libraries hours are getting cut.

This small bookstore in downtown Alameda has a good selection of paperback fiction and some biography and non-fiction books. However, theres limited selection on professional, tecnical and computer books.

This is an average bookstore. Selection is okay, but not like you would find it one of the huge book stores. Travel section is pretty sparse.

Love walking into a place to awkward looks, then quick head turns as employees ignore me! Having a Black Excellence section doesnt matter if black people feel unwelcomed

RACIST store workers. I walked into the store with my fiancé and the workers looked and us up and down and never greeted us. We had to be the ones to say hello and ask for help finding a book. STAY AWAY if you are PERSON OF COLOR. Go somewhere else instead. This people made us feel like our business didn’t matter. #STAND #AGAINST #HATE

Ever since Borders closed down near South Shore, Ive been in love with walking from my house to Books Inc. Its provided me with my manga and other novels from ordering. Its also a good place to just read during lunch time at AHS

Books have been rated by the staff and have short statements about why they loved it or what they thought about it. Ive found out about a lot of books that never would have caught my eye that way.
