The Sewing Room Alameda is my third attempt at learning fashion illustration.I’ve taken fashion illustration classes before. Once at a local community college and at an apparel design school.I have learned so much more at The Sewing Room (Alameda) than I did at both the schools put together.Julie is a awesome teacher. You can tell she’s an experienced well seasoned teacher. The classes online are small so Julie is able to attend to each student’s individual needs.She acknowledges her students growth and improvements and gives praise.She breaks the information down so that it’s easy to understand and retain. The classes are cohesive.The fashion illustration classes are offered online (zoom) and in person. Each class is 2 hrs making the class cost reasonable.I recommend the fashion illustration class at The Sewing Room‼️Marie E. (present student)

Recently participated in a Zoom-hosted Surgical Mask sew along with other home based sewers and Jennifer of the Sewing Room. The Zoom format was fantastic! Jennifer walked everyone through each step of two mask making tutorials with clear visual and descriptive instructions and answered any questions along the way. The Zoom format was a great way to build sewing time into an otherwise busy schedule and connect with others even though we were all in different places. Highly recommend any Zoom sewing experiences with The Sewing Room, or any sewing instruction opportunities with Jennifer!

The Sewing Room is number one for alterations. Ruby and her team are the absolute best. Ruby, thank you for making alterations to my wedding gown with such short notice - the gown fit perfectly and I felt beautiful!

Jennifer is a fantastic, talented and patient teacher, and so much fun! My daughter has taken her sewing camps over a couple of summers, and Jennifer empowers her students and leads them well through various projects. I highly recommend Jennifer and The Sewing Room in Alameda!

Today I did my first virtual sewing class with Jennifer. It was great! Very easy to sign in and Bam! There is Jennifer waiting for you. Multiple people can join which is great because everyone can interact with each other. The great thing for me as a beginner is that Jennifer made it so easy for me to follow and understand as I moved along with my project and felt confident to finish my project. I look forward to the next virtual class. Thank you Jennifer for offering virtual classes, but mostly for being such a patient, wonderful teacher. 😍

Absolutely the BEST! Jennifer is a pro with heart - definitely get in on her events this summer - itll keep the family busy making masks and other household items. So happy that I found Jennifer

I started to take some adult sewing clinics and I love it. They have a LOT of stuff for kids. If i knew any children in the area into fashion studies I would suggest checking out the sewing rooms offerings.
