This store is WONDERFUL! I can always find amazing gifts for anyone here. It’s also so close to my office making it super easy for me to walk to on lunches. I’ve found so many unique and local items here. I also love introducing new people to the store! I can’t say enough good things about it. I would highly encourage anyone to stop by if they haven’t already!

Glad to see that this store has thrived since moving from its Delaware Avenue location. It’s easy to assume this is another home goods store, but it’s a different welcoming vibe altogether. No kitsch here, just products (many local!) that are as functional as they are stylish.

I absolutely love this store. The storekeeper was very friendly allowing us to window shop indoors. Like an oasis in the middle of a desert. The air-conditioning indoors is very refreshing when walking miles on tour.

Convinced my friends to come with me to this store after seeing Instagram advertising. Drove all the way down here (45 min) because they had advertised a pop up with a bunch of vendors only to find they had closed down a half hour early. When I asked the employee what happened she was very rude and acted like she could have cared less. I was excited to visit this store since moving to the area but I won’t be returning.

Upon a trip to the store youll find lots of unique items, many of which are locally owned/produced and/or locally-minded with great pride in the Capital city. Arguably the best shop in Albany, and a welcome addition to historic downtown Albany. The space is bright and welcoming, and many items are created by local artisans. This is the perfect shop for anyone who is searching for unique and carefully-selected items that youd be hard-pressed to find at a big-box store.

I was at a loss for what to get my staff for Christmas. I like to get local and unique things and I heard the store was a good place for that. After poking around a bit I mentioned to the proprietress what I was looking for and ended up with some great bags and gloves. My staff going to love this and I enjoyed the shopping experience.

Wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff, and unique inventory! This shop is the perfect addition to downtown. My favorite purchase so far: an Albany themed adult coloring book. There is something for everyone!

This street in Albany needs a winner like the Fort Orange General Store. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, and all I saw were defunct warehouse buildings. In the light of Saturday morning, I found the Irish Museum, the newsstand, the Irish New Orleans themed pub and the bottle shop. And now add the general store with immaculately clean windows, brilliant merchandising and genuinely friendly staff. One staffer greeted me and even offered to put together a gift basket for me. A pop up offered whiskeys and bourbons distilled in Albany, probably the first whiskey distilled in Albany since prohibition. The location across from the fairy tale castle that houses SUNY works because these casements and traceries show in the windows. A great place to visit on a sunny day after Black Friday.
