Well my Jeep Liberty isn’t ready yet. But I didn’t expect such fast results. It was my fault that I thought it would be next week I get the results. So Friday I should of called them. I didn’t so now I may have to wait. But that’s on me. I had asked without expectation to try and get on it ASAP. And they did. Something no other business would of done. Appreciate your guys fast response. And I’m sure I’m in great hands.

Broke down late morning, had my car towed in, and even with a stacked schedule, they were able to order parts, do the repair, and have it ready for pickup later that same day! Excellent customer service, friendly, and really understanding - Shawn was a real pleasure to work with (rare these days) and after checking on what was needed let me know it would be a less expensive repair than previously thought. I cannot say enough great things about this shop and the guys who work there. I was in the midst of driving across the country when it turned out my car needed a new transmission and Tranco came to the rescue. Keith and Ray were my main points of contact and who I dealt with. Not only did they put themselves in my shoes in regards to making sure I was able to get back on the road as soon as possible, they gave me suggestions on what hotels to stay in, restaurants to eat, and places to go. They kept in great communication in terms of timing estimates on when things were expected to be done and gave great details on their diagnosis of the issue and how they planned to fix everything. Its been just over a year since I had the transmission rebuilt on my 1999 f-250 with 7.3L diesel. I had them do a mechanically upgraded pump and billet torque converter. So happy with there work! this thing pulls like a freight train! I mainly use this to pull a tandem axle trailer for my local business, but I also take trips across the country. After getting an estimate for a repair from the dealer of over $1,000, I called Tranco and Keith said that he would be happy to diagnose it and have it towed to his business from the dealership. I was passing through on a cross country trip and was experiencing some transmission problems. The staff and owner personally took the time to examine and troubleshoot my transmission despite a full garage and schedule. Friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful, I recommend to anyone needing transmission assistance.

100% professionalism, thoroughness, transparency, integrity, honesty and friendliness. Took my 2002 Ford Explorer 4wd 4.6 L in and was told that it would be 2 weeks before they could even look at it because they had a shortage of technicians. That attests to their transparency to their customers. But after Shawn listened to the noise coming from the transmission he told me to bring it back the next day and leave it. After only a couple of days they sent me photos and diagnostics from the removal and external inspection. Several days later they sent photos and diagnostics after dismantle. They completed the rebuild, did initial tests but heard a whine during testing. They removed and dismantled the transmission again and discovered that a bearing in the case that should never have to be replaced needed replacing. Problem was that said bearing is unavailable by itself. So they bought another case that contained the bearing and stuck to their original estimate. That attests to both their thoroughness and integrity. They also had to perform a reseal of the transfer case but in that process they clean and inspect all of the internal gizzards as well. Knowing that the oil from the transfer case looked pretty suspect, they pronounced all the internal components in excellent condition and completed the reseal. They could have easily told me that a rebuild was necessary, like some shops might do. That attests to their honesty. Although Id classify the condition of my vehicle as borderline junker when they worked on it, they treated it with the same respect they would a new vehicle. Id recommend TRANCO transmission repair on Eubank over any other transmission shop Ive ever been to or even talked to.

Everyone here is great at what they do. I was in the middle of a move when my transmission went out and left me stranded in NM. The local dealership told me I’d have to quarantine for 14 days in order to come in and have my car looked at😂. TRANCO got my car in ASAP and took care of everything while I continued on with my move. I flew in to get the car when it was done and everything went on without a hitch. Ray and Keith are class acts, honest and a pleasure to deal with. They made a terrible experience as good as it could have been.

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!!! they will do everything they can to get out of warranty!! When they inspected the vehicle they said no other issues pertaining to the transmission were found.. turns out the transmission line blew wich then blew the transmission. They refused to warranty!! Worst of all the line was apparently repaired poorly and thats why it blew. But they did not mention that to me or on the paper work..and they ask for more money to rebuild again!? All they had to do was say were installing a $5,000 transmission we recommend replacing this line that appears to be repaired poorly.. the transmission lines are critical to a transmissions life. why wouldnt they inspect those properly??

This shop embodies the professionalism and integrity you would expect from a classic establishment. Took my wifes vehicle there for some possible warranty work after a remanufactured transmission install (slight seal leak). When unsure if the leak was due to normal age or Trancos installation, the shop erred in MY favor, and even replaced an extra seal to make sure. Great shop, great customer service. Will continue to have my support and business. Cant go wrong with these guys. 4.8 starts says it all. Seriously, what automotive shop has 4.8 stars?! Theres a good reason.

I had a long standing problem on my car losing power on road trips. Since it only happened on road trips, I couldnt get anyone to repeat the issue making it hard to diagnose. It increasing started happening in town. Transco offered an alternative to a full transmission replacement, which ended up working & saved me so much money. This place is great! My car had a transmission leak issue. Reading the reviews, Tranco sounded good. I called, spoke with Ray. He informed me the next opening was approximately three weeks out. I was good with that. I arrived on the appointment date and found the lot full. They’re busy. Good sign. After dropping off my car in the morning, I received a call a bit later. Ray explained what needed to be done and gave me an estimate. I was expecting the news to be worse. It wasn’t. They kept my car a few days. I picked it up and couldn’t be happier with the work. Top notch! Our XJ had an issue where it was next to impossible to shift after driving for 10 minutes, we thought the transmission was done for. Tranco diagnosed and fixed the issue. Now the Jeep shifts smoother than it ever has during our ownership. In the past two weeks we’ve driven it as much as possible and have had no issues. Great business!

Having taken my Rav4 to Tranco recently (June 2020) with a very difficult repair I found them to be extremely experienced, hard-working, and ethical. Ray has been repairing transmissions since the 70s and another of his managers (sorry, dude, forgot your name) has been doing this since the 80s. These guys know transmissions inside and out and backwards. Add to that their high ethical standards to which they adhere and you could not ask for a finer transmission shop to go to. I recently had these guys do a clutch for me in an early 70s foreign truck. Many shops wouldnt even touch the truck due to its age, but these guys had no issue. I sourced the parts myself as this is a hard truck to get parts for other than specialty online retailers. Again, most shops wouldnt do this, but they did. Price was more than fair. After 2 weeks there was an issue with the throw out bearing. It turns out the install created the problem in that it was just slightly out of adjustment. They dropped the transmission again and put a replacemnt in, despite not providing the parts origiannly. Most shops wouldnt have done this. Their sign says We fix it right. We guarantee it...They did. In this day and age of impersonal corporate shops everywhere, I highly recommend them. They will do right by the customer. Great people over there! Thx Keith and Ray

Recently my manual transmission failed on the way home after 204,400 miles. I called my primary auto care technician (PACT) and told him what was happening and if I could have my car towed in to his shop. He informed me that he was swamped for quite a while. I asked him for a reference for a transmission shop, and with no hesitation, he recommended Tranco. I found out later that my PACT sends his personal automatic transmission work to Tranco. Now, if Tranco is good enough for my PACT, it’s good for me. They not only got my truck back on the road quickly, but they also gave me some education and tips to keep my transmission healthy. I knew that the hydraulics uses Dot 3 brake fluid, but it never occurred to me I should have it flushed on a schedule. Tranco could have done that for me. If I did, I would have saved the slave cylinder. Tranco is happy to rebuild or repair a transmission, but they also do maintenance. It’s better to have the transmission serviced on a schedule than to have it breakdown and rebuilt. Overall, I know where to take my vehicles for my transmission needs.

I was having issues shifting in first gear & was recommended to go to Tranco to check out the possibility it was the transmission.Rob and the crew ran a diagnostic & did a few road trips and determined it had to be the clutch and to take it back to my general mechanic. These guys are fast, professional and everyone was kind and helpful! They did not even charge for the diagnostic/services!!I would highly recommend them & will definitely use them in the future if I have any transmission needs!

The ability to trust a business these days is rare. The owner of Tranco, Ray, and his team earned my trust and appreciation for their repair to my 2003 Toyota Land Cruiser.I was told by another mechanic that I needed a new transmission: $3,846. I called Ray and shared my concerns, he said bring it in for a diagnostic. His team texted a complete diagnostic with photos of my vehicles issues from minor to urgent. They repaired it that same day in 3.5 hours and charged me about an eighth of what my mechanic quoted. It turned out I didnt need a new transmission at all.Drove the vehicle the next day from Albuquerque to Taos and everything runs great. Very grateful to Tranco and highly recommended their services.

Highly Recommend! Asked McKinney Motors (also highly recommend!) for a recommendation for what we thought was a transmission issue. They were able to get us in very quickly, diagnosed the issue immediately, and repaired our vehicle within an hour. Ray figured out the diagnosis in the first minute of the test drive!The last 2 times we went to the local Toyota dealership I was told that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. In January 2018 a repair estimate of over 2k for leaking power steering, and on 2/28/18 was told by the dealership to replace the ball joints ($1,700+) plus another $3,500 in cautionary repairs. In both cases we went elsewhere to determine those diagnoses were not correct.Now that we have found both Tranco & McKinney motors, we will never return to the very dishonest dealership.We will recommend Tranco (& McKinney Motors) to all our friends & family, and I would like to thanks Ray & Rob both for everything they did today! We had the transmission fail on our Sprinter Chassis RV while outside of Gallup. We had it towed to the only truck repair shop in Gallup who told us that they could fix it, only to tell us later that they did not have to proper tools to do the job. We called some shops that work on Sprinters in Albuquerque who referred us to Ray and his staff at Tranco. After talking to Ray on the phone, we had the RV towed to Tranco from Gallup. Our situation was a little complicated since the transmission that failed was still under warranty from another business. Of course, that business was looking for any excuse not to honor their warranty. After diagnosing the failure, Ray had to spend much additional time proving to this company that the failure was legitimate and the warranty should be honored, which they eventually did. A replacement transmission was shipped to Tranco from the company and they had it installed the following week at a very reasonable price. Not many shops in this business would go out of their way to help a customer out in a situation like this, but Tranco did and this speaks volumes for their integrity and customer service. Not only that, Ray was able to help us safely store our motorcycle and bicycles that we had on the RV until we could get back to pick it up. He also provided transportation to a car rental agency so we could get home to Georgia and a ride to Tranco from the airport when the RV was ready to be picked up. Obviously, we would recommend Tranco to anyone needing transmission work in the Albuquerque area. They definitely went above and beyond the call of duty in our case.

I was told by my mechanic that my jeep needed a new transmission (just replaced it a few years ago so the warranty had just expired). Wasnt happy with the place Ive been taking my vehicles to for years as the quality of service has gone downhill drastically. Had taken my jeep in twice within 2 weeks for the same computer issue that they never did repair. I decided to take it into a transmission specialty repair place since I only experienced more problems every time I took my vehicle into the shop. Ray at Tranco spent a lot of time looking things over thoroughly and advised me that it did not need a new transmission...confirmed that it was indeed an issue with the computer AGAIN that was supposedly just fixed for the second time that week at the other place! This place is amazing. Would recommend 100%. Had a rebuild 2 years and 1 month. It had a 2 year warranty. Anyone else would not honor the expired warranty. Ray did, they fixed transmission and even fixed a problem with air conditioner and only charged for the part. Saved me a bunch of money. Suggest any ladies that dont know where to go to take their transmission or drive train problems to Tranco. They definitely are very honest.

I was provided the most professional and personalized service. I was in dire straights and didnt even have the money to pay for the work completed on my vehicle. I had the transmission in my ram 4500 go out coming into Albuquerque. As a commercial driver it was a huge problem, I called Rob and he was very helpful he was one of the few shops in town that had a big lift that could have a job, he also help me get the trailer and load secured got the job done quickly, correctly and at a fair price. My truck wasnt shifting correctly, and I had no idea what it was, I took it to tranco and they found out it was the exhaust. They recommended a muffler shop a block away, took my truck there for me and I had it back and working when I got off work. They didnt charge me anything for the trouble, it was a real pleasure to work with them.

My review is about the good customer service I received at Tranco. I went in not knowing if my problem was with the engine or the transmission. Trendco did a thorough inspection and even replaced some fluid without charging me. They took a test drive with me even when they were busy and they were able to rule out that it was the transmission. Even though they did not do work on my car Im reassured that I need to check with an engine specialist at this point. Sometimes its just as important to know what the problem is NOT, as knowing what the problem is. I found Tranco to be professional and honest. They could have said I needed some type of work when I didnt. In contrast, they spent a lot of time and did a thorough job ruling things out, without charging me a penny. If I ever needed transmission work I would go back.

This was an ... unusually good experience. Thought I had a transmission issue (vibrating rattle), but they found it was an exhaust issue, brought it to a different shop, had it fixed - and didnt charge me anything. Im not saying that you should expect free services (I certainly didnt), but the fact they were willing to invest in a relationship with a new customer means Im going to be giving them first crack at all my future transmission work. Also found them to be professional, friendly and courteous. Nice work, gentlemen.

I had my truck serviced here at Tranco and Rob along with his employees did an excellent job helping me get my truck back on the road and in working condition. I would recommend everybody to go to this shop for transmission service they are very professional in their work and again i would like to say thank you for all the work they have done.

Had my normal mechanic replace my CV joints and replace transmission fluid. Immediately afterwards my car started shaking violently between 35-45 mph. I took the car back to my mechanics where the diagnosed that the side bearings in my car were bad and that I would need a new transmission ~$3600. Seemed odd that car didnt shake before CV joints got replaced. I took my car to Ray at TRANCO. Here drive my car and told me that he was 90% sure it was a torsion issue CV joints. I told him to look at it. After inspection, he still thought it was torsion. I told him to replace both CV joints. After installation, the shakes were gone! Most honest and experienced mechanic Ive ever come across! Go to TRANCO!!
