Ariel and Kimberly are the best! Very friendly and helpful. Kimberly went above and beyond! This single momma went shopping with her baby but Kimberly was there to assist. I love this store and members. I always have a great experience when I shop here! Thank you all!!!
First, I would like to say thank you to the Sallys employees THAT ARE helpful and kind. I sometimes get my hair professionally done and sometimes I opt to try and create for myself. Unfortunately, yesterday for the first time in 10+ yrs I had a disappointing experience at Sallys. I was at the San Mateo store about 6pm, and the customer service from Chantelle lacked professionalism and really just common kindness/courtesy. A good amount of Sallys patrons usually are seeking a trained opinion and we are hoping you can help. Initially, I thought well maybeChantelle is having a bad day, then well maybe she just started cosmetology school and doesnt know? Then I thought did they just hire anybody due to lack of employees? However, as our interaction progressed, I realized shes just rude and unprofessional. I was not confident with the information/help I had to literally pry out of her. Frustrated, I did tell her you are not being helpful at all to which of course she simply smirked . (If I couldve got some helpful insight from the other CSR I would have, she really didnt seem to know and referred me to Chantelle in the beginning) I left feeling disappointed and doubted what I had bought. I love love Sallys, please hire competent people, who want to be there and enjoy their craft. On another note, Angel at the Sallys on Cutler was professional, knowledgeable and kind, she helped about 3 of us at once. Thank you.

I have been getting products at several different Sally beauty is over the years and this is the first time that the staff has been truly knowledgeable about all the products that we were looking at changing to and very helpful and considerate we had a last-minute situation we had to get hair dye and they stayed open an extra 15 minutes for us just to make sure we got what we needed. 10 out of 10 would recommend
Arielle is always super helpful when it comes to knowledge in hair coloring and hair health and its amazing. She’s very educated and honest. She’s out done every Sally’s there is that I’ve been to. Thank you to this Sally’s for always giving me a comfortable honest experience every time.
Sometimes we go all out in our 5 🌟 reviews to do a person a favor. This is not one of them. Ariel was the one who helped me and Im so glad.Ive lived in other states and find many people in New Mexico to be particularly rude and incompetent but she was the opposite .... refreshing!I bought an electric nail filer for a night guard versus acrylic nails.Before going to the store, I called with some questions. From the beginning, Ariel Didnt rush me and answered my questions directly.I mentioned I hadnt decided which Sallys location Id be going to depending on traffic. Still, she was informative even though I might have spent my money at a location other than hers on San Mateo & Academy.Once I arrived she suggested the mid priced shaver for my situation- that was cool. She also ensured I knew I could exchange it despite the covid, yet explained it wouldnt be re-shelvedAriel was not only nice she was truly pleasant. I for see her in a management position: Patient, informed, an exceptional communicator, and not pushy.The best was when I returned for an exchange after all. She had no idea I would be returning yet Ariel had an another filer waiting for me at the counter.recognizing me from outside the window, she put two & two together and was ready by the time I walked in. Atypical of New Mexico, it was standard for my experience with ArielI.Ariel, thanks for your help!And much luck with your own business 😉🤙
I had to pick up some things while I was visiting for Thanksgiving, and the manager here was awesome. Super friendly and helpful. This is what treatment of customers should be like at all Sally’s locations. If I’m in a pinch again, I know where I’m going.
If there was a number less than one, I would have chosen it. My credit card approve the purchase, but the cashier kept declining my purchase. Guess they dont care to have Black people in their store. If you are black and shopping at this location, please walk with cash!!

Came in just to purchase press on nails for my mom. And the worker was so helpful and nice the moment we walked in! Explained the difference in products/ brands of press on nails. Also happened to find artic fox semi permanent hair color!!!! Store was very well kept and organized!
That friendly staff are willing to help you. Even if you dont need it. I got lost with a product and staff helped me. I was very grateful for her assistance

Helpful employees, clean nice store. Head to the back for the clearance items. Also if youre dying or trying to fix a dye job you dont like go to a salon. Sallys definitely has the stuff to fix it but, the employees arent hair stylist and youre bound to make it worse trying to fix it on your own. Its not an insult to the employees at all. Theyre great but you need to be really educated to try to fix something youre not trully educated about. I hear it every time I go to a Sallys wether it was in LA or here. Someones trying to go from dark to light and theyre orange or want to strip the color out in a panic with some magical product. You need to know about toners, the stages of color your hair goes through as you lighten it, what developer is Vs bleach (dont do yourself) etc.
Nice selection of hair products and accessories, though definitely geared more toward the teen clientele.
Bought a pair of clippers and after 4 days they stopped working. Cant return because 2 days ago they changed return policy.
All Sallys shops seem to have rude employees and messy isles. Actual prices are sometimes different than the tags. If I could get what I need elsewhere, I wouldnt have to go there. Sad, because Sallys was once real professional.
The cashiers were very rude and unprofessional. As a professional hair dresser I would like to see what Im buying before I spend hundreds of dollars for my equipment....these young ladies refused to let me see any item unless I was gonna purchase it. I have always bought my clippers asst this location and have never felt so insulted. These ladies made it clear to me that they have a theft problem but to threat me like I was the thief! I will never go there again.
