HUGE selection of books, but I just could not figure out the lay out. The shelves are labeled with multiple genres kinda here and there.Mostly new books, very few used.I went looking for some YA used series and left empty handed. Plenty of pretty, new books though.I also struggled getting someone to help me, maybe I just had a rough experience.

Best bookstore in Albuquerque! This plaza has it all! I love bringing the kids to one of the restaurant s/cafes nearby for a quick snack and then walking to PageOne for a new book. We can even pop into Smiths if we need to or go across the street to the park. Makes for a convenient and easy family outing. Sometimes we trade in old books for a fair rate, other times we just pop in and grab something. There is something for every body. New and used. You can get a decent pile of used books for a very fair price. They also have very cool gift items including a fun selection of unique earrings which I have purchased as gifts on many occasions, esp..around the holidays and which the recipients loved. Thank you!

This is such a great locally-owned bookstore. Considering it is a small local business; it is pretty massive.I love the selection of popular and obscure books. They have great displays and the store has a good layout and flow for having such wide inventory.The Staff is friendly and it is clean. I highly recommend.

This is my absolute favorite bookstore! I have been coming here since I was a child when they had a different location on Juan Tabo. The owner or manager of Page One is the nicest and most helpful and enthusiastic man I have ever met. He makes me want to buy every single book he recommends! Not only does this local book store offer curbside pickup, they offer delivery as well. This bookstore is my perfect little escape from the world :).

I believe this book store ranks among the top tier for a full range of book titles and interests. They also offer used books and the staff are excellent and cordial. Great place for browsing.

Better than Amazon or Barnes and Nobles. They had the book my wife needed. They are pet friendly so I could go in with my dog on a leash. I loved going to Page One at the old store and I really like this location.

Support your local bookstores! This place is great. I have come across multiple unexpected finds here. Id definitely recommend checkimg out the Antiquarian room, but be careful as it is crazy easy to spend your entire paycheck here.

My favorite book store in Albuquerque, I ve been going here for about 30 years. I remember when they were a huge independent book store before the big corporation book stores were even close in size. I will continue going anytime Im in Albuquerque for my biblioholic fix.

I was very impressed by the breadth of the selection here and liked the mix of new and used books. Wonderful kids section, gifts and puzzles, too. Regretting that I wasnt aware of this lovely store sooner.

Good safety and cleaning protocols in place for COVID and still absolutely the best new and used bookstore in town. Used books are ALWAYS reasonably priced (most of them are half the cover price) and they are placed side by side with the new ones plus they now have a really nice selection of boardgames. Very friendly and helpful staff who are quite knowledgeable. Can’t recommend Page 1 enough. It’s been my go to since I was a teen and it’s no wonder it’s endured for so long.It’s a Bibliophile’s dream to be sure.

Way bigger than expected! Lots of new and older choices

Was planning on using my Christmas money to buy other things but this... this book store reeled me in and I am coming back to buy 11 books that I cannot live without.

Always a great selection and a nice staff. Used books also priced well, which is a bonus!

So 3 stars due to employees.Asked an employee for assistance and they were not knowledgeable on where the book sections were in the store. They asked another employee to assist and that employee was put off in having to leave the desk. Both employees directed me to the wrong area. I eventually found the correct section by wandering the store and was really surprised and disappointed that the selection of books was as limited as it turned out to be. By then I was no longer interested in purchasing anything.I was really looking forward to my first visit to this store and dont think I will bother driving all the way up there again.

I really enjoy visiting Page 1 Books. I really appreciate the option of purchasing certain books new or used. Also this is a great place to find stocking stuffers at Christmas or basket stuffers for Easter, birthday gifts or my favorite just because gifts.

Fabulous as usual. This store is always stocked with books and items I never knew existed and always love browsing. Its not close to my house but well worth the drive.

Their new hours do not lend to shop in a relaxed environment.

I have been shopping at this book store for over 20 years but its been years since I was there. Today I took my kids in to spend their gift cards they received for Christmas. Since I was there I thought Id look for a few things for me. I was specifically looking for anything by authors such as Murray Rothbard, or Ludwig von Mises or any others along those lines. Unfortunately I only found 1. What I did find was multiple books by Karl Marx and other authors that spread the ideas of collectivism, socialism and communism. I guess I now know where I should go if I want to know how to be woke and brush up on my revolutionary communist ideologies. I will be letting everyone I know what agenda Page 1 Books stands behind and pushes.

Helpful employees, but when I came in late on a cloudy winter afternoon, it was darker inside than out. I thought maybe they were closed.Used books are alongside new ones, and priced the same. Youll need to check inside covers to see if theres an inscription from a former gifter so it doesnt look like youre re-gifting. 😳

During COVID? They have just as fast or, in my case, faster delivery than Amazon! Excellent services and such a very nice staff. I am so glad you are still open.Please keep buying local. Dont let small businesses get trumped by big corporation.

The greatest independently owned bookstore in Albuquerque. Youll find new and previously loved editions side by side. A real dollar saver for some. The staff are dedicated, knowledgeable and rabid readers; their suggestions line the shelves. They also buy books, not all of them, but enough of mine so I gain store credit for new purchases. Have been shopping here for over 20 years because Amazon doesnt give me that warm and fuzzy feeling that walking in to Page 1 does. READ ON!

They always have something new in. They have a great book buying program. Its also nice and quiet. An introverts dream.

This place used to be a great bookstore. Lately with the pandemic, the staff just isnt up to par. they are not as responsive, orders take twice as long, they are as helpful or friendly like they used to be. I want to support our local businesses. but I just might have to switch bookstores due to the lack of professionalism here.

DO NOT BUY EARRINGS here!! This is a great little nook and I do try to buy things here often to support local business. However, last night I purchased earrings but when I took them home and eagerly tried them on, I discovered that the posts were too long and they made my earlobes stick out! As funny as this was, I simply had no use for them. When I returned them today, I was told that earrings are the one thing we dont take back and essentially, too bad. The suggestion was made that I give them as a gift! Why would I do that to someone else?! (I really am laughing at that) I just left the earrings with the girl at the counter there as I had no use for them. I wasnt offered a store credit or anything; so, Ill consider it a donation to the bookstore and NEVER PURCHASE EARRINGS there in the future! Be informed and ask about returns when you purchase here!

Awesome local book store. Been coming here for years. Moderate selection of every subject. Especially great deals if you can find what you want used. Usually i buy everything on Amazon, but the prices are just as good here, and you cant bear the experience of thumbing through a book before buying.

COVID-19 Update:Really love this local shop. Great for teachers. However, the store is closed and hours are NOT posted on the door. Hours are posted only on Instagram. Google hours need to be updated because according to Google, the store is open. I’d call before trying to enter. Good luck!

Had just the book I needed to replace one I ordered used online for my daughter for Christmas. When you first walk in its a little hard to discern how the books are laid out but quickly pick up on the layout. I also picked up a puzzle for my son. Nice location, I miss the old one though.

I really appreciate that theres still a really good used bookstore here in Albuquerque. We sell our old books here and love getting used books. Theyve got a great selection and the people are always super friendly.

Once again, this independent bookstore has let me down. I saw you were open online (Still actually says open online and with their neon signage I am looking at backs up this assumption.) I drive from the North Valley to get a book for my nephew who’s Zeta is dying. The Denial of Death...easily bought from Amazon (Abe is also owned by them) and copies can be bought for two bucks. But, as a good doobie, I tried to patronize my local business. Epic fail. You’d think with so many intelligent people working there someone knows how to use the internet and update the accuracy of what “open” means.

I love visiting used bookstores as Im traveling, picking up a book to read along the way. This is my first time in Albuquerque and I needed a book to read, and Page 1 Books was closest to me. It is an awesome store. A great selection of both new and used books in a comfortable store with a knowledgable and friendly staff. I ended up picking a book based on the staff recommendation cards that are on the shelves, and it was a really fun book to read while on a road trip! If Im ever back in town, Ill go here again!

I love bookstores, especially locally owned bookstores. I have been going to Page One for several years now and it is always a great experience. The prices are fair, they are really good about giving you quite a bit for buybacks (mainly if you choose in-store credit), and the staff is really friendly. The selection is also pretty good. I highly recommend this bookstore.

My first experience here was fantastic. They even ordered a book which will be released in April at my recommendation. A wonderful selection of new and used books in good condition.Unfortunately, I had to return a couple of items I had purchased (it happens). I had the receipt and was within the time frame of their return policy. When I got to the counter, Craig rather abruptly told me to go look for another book while he filled out all the paperwork, which consisted of a 1/3 page slip of paper. He seemed all the more annoyed when I told him I wasnt going to look today. Things got worse when he demanded a reason why I was returning the books and asked if I read them already (I had not; it just wasnt what I wanted). I realize its a bit unusual to return books, because books are awesome. Perhaps next time Ill go to the library instead, where theyre used to books being returned. Id hate to make Craig fill out more paperwork.

The staff is very helpful and well read, great with recommendations if you need. There is also a well-kept secret bookcase with used new releases (in hardback!) for a reduced price! Come, get lost, buy too many books. Youll never regret it. Your husband might, but you wont.

Page 1 has been a part of my life since I was a kid. I could spend hours in here browsing books and other items. Even if they dont currently have a book I want, they are more than happy to order it for me. Ive also always had pleasant interactions with their staff. Theyre willing to share their recommendations and overall appreciation for books. Though their new(ish) location is farther from my house I will always make the drive to Page 1.
