We stopped by for some potential vegan options and they had limited options printed on the menu but were very accommodating offering suggestions and altering menu items. We ended up making our own breakfast burrito and it was so very delicious! We also had the Oatmeal and it was perfectly yummy. Great coffee and non dairy options!
Great food, I just wish we couldve tipped the server, she was so friendly and checked on us to ask if we needed anything. Very, very friendly. Very attentive. She deserves her own tip and not have to share with people less friendly.
Ive been going to this location for years. They never disappoint. Their Ranch Breakfast is one of my favorites. The turkey sausage is actually really good. All their food is great! Their pastries are exceptional. The Giant Eclair is BIG but very light. They have quite a few tables setup for outdoor seating too.
This location is smaller and doesnt have the same level of ambience as the Flying Star on Rio Grande. But the food still tasted really good and fresh, and I didnt have trouble finding an outdoor table like I wanted. Bikes racks are available, which made it a great place to stop for breakfast while riding to Winrock for an errand.
First off let me explain to you this food was different. It was delicious, it was flavorful and most importantly it was an experience that my girlfriend and I wont forget. I love burgers and fries so what did I get? The green Chile cheese burger with sweet potato fries 😱 and it was amazing it had green Chiles, mushrooms (I believe) cheese, lettuce, tomato, a ridiculously thick patty and their home made buns. It was amazing. My lovely got the Mac and cheese with crispy chicken and broccoli 😱😱 that was outrageous and I believe the chef deserves a raise, lots of praise and a photo in the Food Hall of Fame. We then got dessert. Let me tell you one thing. Forget any other dessert because theirs wins. I got the chocolate cream pie and My Lady got the turtle cheesecake. I should stop right there but no, you guys deserve this, like my mouth needed soap when I swore as a kid. Please do yourself and your taste buds a favor when in Albuquerque, go to Flying Star Cafe dont waste your time elsewhere, I guarantee youll be back for more. Til next time friends, see you soon!
Dropped in for a coffee and a pastry. They are following covid guidelines and the coffee refresh area is closed, you can still go to the counter for a refill or get a16 oz. to go cup. The cherry pie was awesome, as youd expect. When they had time the counter help visited the tables to make sure everyone was doing ok, great service!
I go here often. Mostly for the bottomless cup of coffee and the atmosphere. Even though the food is good, I rarely eat it because its stupid pricey. $7 for a plate of lettuce and a couple tomatoes. And thats the cheapest meal on the menu. Seems like they frequently raise prices. But like I said, great place to get a cup of coffee and get some work done.
The service was very good. The cauliflower wings were delicious. The Beyond Mediterranean Burger was okay but too expensive for what you get. The Vegan Street Tacos got mixed reviews. One person really liked them, the other thought they were just okay. Its a nice atmosphere but kind of pricey for what you get.
Everyone is so nice and attentive here. The food is always good and the desserts even better. I often go for a slice of cake and tea. Its my way of unwinding with a good book. Its also my go to place for a meal and good conversation with friends.
Friendliest most accommodating staff. They made the Most delicious coffee! The Mexican chocolate mixed with caramel dulce - so good! The sandwiches are all good, and taste fresh, and the sweet potato fries are the best. The parking is limited and inconvenient, sometimes requiring you park across the street, but the service is great inside!
This place is so accommodating for dogs! As a visitor to Albuquerque I was looking for a dog friendly place to go for lunch with my pup. After speaking with the staff at the counter they were happy to get us comfortable on the patio. They gave us a bag of treats and bowl of water and came out to visit with us. It was easy to leave my dog outside secured, order inside at the counter and the staff did the rest. Even while inside ordering another patron later told me they were watching my dog just in case. So nice! I was told by the staff how much the owners love dogs as well and it certainly made us feeling welcome and appreciated. Food was wonderful too. I had a soup and salad that was super fresh and very tasty.
Just had house coffee but it had a good rich, full bodied flavor.Responsive help, nice atmosphere (we ate outdoors)Everyone else in the group ate and they were happy with the meal.Would return again
The server Ava was very sweet and gracious.😇Food was good.Late dinning and everyone was treated to a sample taste test of a dessert. 🧁The cook 👨🍳 was delightful as we were the last ones in the restaurant, he was in such a joyous and cheerful mood...singing as he cleaned up the grill. 🎁Made us smile and sing along! 😁🤗As a travel nurse, it is nice to find a gem such as this Flying Star location to make traveling happier.Highly recommend this specific location!!!!👍👌🤙🤩
This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but the service is too inconsistent. The last time I went in person, they served the food late, cold, and the bacon was crazy burnt. The waiter purposefully left quickly, so I couldnt say anything and the line was too long to wait again. I ordered on Door Dash and they messed up my order. These problems were happening before COVID. The food is expensive for the inconsistency.
I adore Flying Star! Their menu is diverse, packed with flavor, options and their breakfast really starts the day off right. I love their London fog, and throughout enjoy their french toast ❤️
This quirky diner has a diverse menu and fast servic. Its a local chain, so the perfect place to bring guests from out of the area. The prices are great for the quality of food.
Terrible coffee, reasonable food. Cheap and decent place to get work done.
Come here to dine and study sometimes. Very clean facility. Friendly staff. Never had a problem.
This place was a great find. The food was good with large portions and the staff was extremely courteous. We will definitely look it up when we are back through Albuquerque.
I love u flying star but was surprised by a dinner roll with my fish tacos
I went in just to get a milkshake.. Like I have many times before. The guy took my order. Kept my change, then walked down to where they make it and chatted for several minutes with Co workers. After several times telling me its almost ready, which obviously it was not.. One of the managers came by to ask us if we needed help..(it was close to their closing time) I told him no still waiting for my milkshake.. Even he came by because it was taking so long but never checked on it either. Honestly I could have prepared a meal in the time it took him. And for the first time ever I thought it was awful.way to milky, barely any ice cream. I will never go back there. Guy was obviously distracted by who knows what... Bad experience for me..
The front staff was very friendly and kind but unfortunately that was it for the good things. We ordered 2 cheese burgers. One with bacon and one with avocado. And 2 drinks. 30 dollars later im thinking we should have gone down the street to Jack in the box. First my burger was brought out without cheese. Then the worst part was both burgers were undercooked in the middle to the point were i couldnt even eat it. A little pink is fine but its usually nice and juicy. This was pink and dry. Making it seem like it was not cooked properly. So sadly the good staff couldnt bring up this lackluster food experience.
The menu is unique and they have great desserts. The employees are always very nice and polite.
It takes five minutes to order, and thats the actual ordering, every item is super under explained. Very over priced blah food, only for vapid trendy people putting on airs. They are trying to hard to be all boho or something to be a cool comfortable place.
Although the food was undeniably delicious, I remembered why I dont often frequent Flying Star Cafe. Plain and simple - sticker shock. I ordered a build your own omelet and a coffee. My bill was over $17. I ended up paying just over $20 with a tip. I asked for extra crispy bacon, cheese and both red and green chile smothered over the top with more cheese plus some avocado slices. Again, the food was very tasty. I have zero complaints as to the taste. I have a hard time paying THAT much for an omelet and coffee. This is a problem in general with any of their prices. Their food is generally pretty good but I think they would draw more customers with an improvement in their pricing. I hear this complaint from lots of friends. My wife went there to meet a client the other day and ended up paying, if I recall correctly, something like $9 for a scone. If this was a Michelin star rated restaurant then I could see charging those kinds of prices but that is not the case. Obviously plenty of others disagree and give them their business but I have to wonder why.
Always consistent and delicious. I have never had anything bad here. Doesnt matter if its breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even a dessert. Restaurants are always clean.
Lovely atmisphere, delicious food and wide variety.
Always pleased at Flying Star! Excellent Chicken Mediterranean Salad. Ill always go back.
Everything about Flying Star is a very pleasant experience. The food is real, homemade, and unique. The staff is so helpful, generous, and always smiling!
Amazing customer service. Everyone there was so incredibly nice.
They are great but did not have grabburitos when I went and that is the simplest item to run out of. 🤔
Best place for lunch, breakfast or just coffee. The staff is nice and food is so tasty.
Food was just ok. Just like other places they are short handed and tables were not being bussed. Food took a long time to come out of the kitchen.Thankfully they didnt use the short handed excuse since my reply is youre not paying enough then!
The food was alright but the service wasn’t the best. I probably wouldn’t come here again know how it is. I’m happy I got the chance to come though, the building itself is very cool. The booth seats were quite uncomfortable, it felt like I was sitting on a box spring mattress covered in a thin layer of foam.
Not the ultimate fan of their food but if youre looking for coffee and dessert its really hard to find anything anywhere is good
Excellent food. Great atmosphere. Love this place!!
I ordered the Chicken Couscous Risotto and it was very tasty! Lots of veggies. There is seating outside and they have these warmers. The array of goodies....oh my!Looking forward to returning and trying something else from the menu.Staff was very attentive and prompt.
Ive been going here so long I remember when it was The Double Rainbow. (dont tell anybody) but much of the normal morning crowd is still staying at home. Never a better time for that get together for coffee at the Flying Star.
Although the food is excellent Im still being Discriminated against and Segregated from others because I am Exempt from wearing a mask due to Religious Conscience & Legitimate health issues with breathing. If I was not healthy as far as a cough, fever ect & poised a problem with contaminating others I would not be in Public. It is very humiliating to be told to step away from the counter and go to a table where your order can be taken instead of being treated like the other customers just because I am Exempt from wearing a mask. Its masked customers vs unmasked customers and youre still not getting it that youre treating one set of customers differently then another set. Its not by color like with Rosa Parks but this time its mask vs unmasked. If you would do the research and find out through real Science you would see that you dont have healthy people wear masks and if you had done your research regarding the History in regards to Discrimination, Segregation as well as our Constitutional Laws you would not allow fear and panic to rule how you do Business. I am thankful that this time I was not yelled at and told to GET OUT like I was treated by two of your female Employees one being the Manager at the University Store in Albuquerque when I was already leaving. That was totally uncalled for.
They make great food, coffee, and a bakery section all in glass. Well done stores. Comparable to cheesecake factory
Great food and great service
Delicious food, service was fast & friendly! Only problem we had was my hubby ordered the fish tacos - amount of fish was...pretty minimal. Will definitely be returning for another experience & to try something different!
I am vegan and while they only had 3 options (burger, tacos and chicken sandwich), the burger was big and filling. Very clean atmosphere.
Place or staff should I say amazing every visit
Food fabulous. I got gluten free pancakes eggs & coffee. $18. So for me, its a treat, not a regular occurrence
Went for their triple ginger cookies and they had 1 left - NO MORE! I had been craving this delightful cookie. Need more!
Nice place to sit down to have coffee and deserve.
Amazing food. The first place we have gone to in a long while where the food did not disappointed and we were happy to pay the prices. Items we ordered: omelette, 2 birds, pumpkin cheesecake, carrot cake, pumpkin spice latte, and a cold brew.
Southwest Benny with an everything bagel double toasted is my go to, oh yeah and a slice of key lime pie
Blueberry pancakes and chicken tenders lunch was excellent
Gotta love coffee and quiet...
Always running out of different things which puts third party orders way behind. Maybe call customer to see what replacement they want before the delivery driver gets there.
Destry was awesome even for a short interaction
Awesome vegan breakfast burritos! Everyone was very nice.
Friendly staff. The ordering system is a little hard to navigate if its busy. Parking is very tricky.
Hospitality was awesome!!!! According to my daughter the drink was perfect...daddy points!!
A little pricey but they have great food, dessert and drinks.
Food was okay for first time, but staff was not attentive. Was missing one plate because order was taken wrong.
Missed a order good helpers on the floor
Mediocre breakfast. Lots of vegan options!
Good food although a little pricey
Staff was very friendly and really cared bout our dining experiwncw and gave us tea refills to go NICE
This is more of an internet Cafe. Staff is very nice but the food is a little too expensive for me. Good desserts and salads.
What a joke! It’s funny how I could order any meal online and I can receive it in 20 minutes. I decided to dine in and it baffled me how it was taking them more than 30 minutes to get the same meal if I ordered online. I would not recommend going to any of the flying stars! I’ve had many other issues with my meals in the past, such as the lack of attention to detail. But this one has pushed me away for good. Save your money and go elsewhere. I’ve suffered the headaches for you. Best of luck!
Great service with friendly staff. Food was on point. Recommend this place and if ever in ALBQ again I will come back. Had A great tasting salad and good coffee. Sat outside in patio and enjoyed the view of the mountains. Street traffic noise was a bit high but overall very satisfied with my experience. 👍🏽
Great food and atmosphere, and a perfect place to catch up on work or meet clients! Prices are a little high for what you get.
Delicious, great atmosphere and fantastic service!
Our breakfast tasted delicious and was ready for us when we got there (thanks to their super easy to use online ordering ) !! Staff was helpful and polite. Definitely will be back and would recommend !!
The food was very flavorful.
I appreciate honesty with commitment to customer service. My last visit to Flying Star was on a busy Sunday early afternoon. A friend and I chose a local restaurant that we knew served quality food. When we placed our orders the staff member who assisted us was upfront and straightforward: she stated that the restuarant was very busy and our meals would take over 20 minutes. We smiled and said thank you; its like this, we wanted to enjoy conversation anyway, so there was not an inconvenience. Yet, because staff members handled the matter professionally we knew exactly what to expect. Thats my point: I believe when customers are treated respectfully they really dont mind a few additional minutes. Gratitude for caring about your patrons!
This place does it w love and passion.First time visit and I was wowed
Great selection.... nice and cozy
Delicious food! Super smooth curbside pick-up experience. Would defo order from Flying Star Cafe again!!
Usually love Flying Star, their food is great, but the last two times the order has been messed up and something was missing. The first time i was understanding due to the current situation but then it happened again. They even seal the bag do you cant check that everything is there until youre home. I enjoy the food but for the price it would be nice to have everything I paid for and to have the right food given to me.
Delicious always love you guys but my most recent breakfast burrito was different and I didn’t like it as much, I’m not sure if you guys changed your recipe but you shouldn’t have 😭
Usually its pretty great, but this time it was horrible the cook needed lessons!?!
Grilled cheese and coffee, cheese was dark orange and coffee to strong no flavor.
Fresh food. The bacon is freaking incredible. The eggs even taste fresh. Do your self a favor and eat here
The food tasted great and presentation was nice. The portion size was very much lacking for the pricepoint however. I would have rated higher if not that. I had chicken tenders with fries and friend had a Buddha bowl. That with one soda and a cheese cake slice was nearly $40. My only hope is that the employees are paid well due to the pricing however I do not know if that is the case.
1/2 full restaurant more than 30 minutes to get food
Great food and coffee. Staff is very friendly!!
This place is kind of a small place that boasts a great turkey soup. I didnt get to try it out. I had a green Chile pork tortilla soup. The flavor was spot on. It was more of a veggie soup as I only found one piece of pork in the soup. Regardless, it was very good. I would say the pricing is a bit high, but the food is good. Try it out
So many vegan options! I had the chimichurri rice bowl and it was some of the best food Ive ever had in albuquerque!
Order was placed ahead of time & ready upon my arrival!
This is a cool chain of restaurants in Albuquerque. I like the vibe of the place, very laid back and easy. The servers are kind and friendly. Flying Start Cafe offers free refills on coffee while youre there. So far Ive tried the Green Chili Burger, the Mediterranean Chicken salad and both were absolutely fantastic.Definitely recommend this place.
Best Mac and cheese ever!!
So excited to see they now have the Impossible Burger!!! Had it for dinner and it was awesome!!! Ive tried it at other restaurants too, but they are doing something right here. I got a side of fries as well, which were very tasty. And you cannot beat their dessert. Everything was great! Ill definitely be back very soon!
