The Encounter is by far the best comic book shop in Pennsylvania and beyond. They have a great selection of books, graphic novels, gaming items and toys. The staff is always helpful and keeps me up to date with new books that would peak my interest. Oliver, Keith, Derek, etc are great people and I cannot say enough good things about them and the store. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

The staff is super personable and welcoming, which is always a wonderful thing in a comic shop. Myself and others are always greeted by name, and my comics are always waiting for me. The staff is quick to help if something goes wrong with an order, or if Id like to place a special order for something they dont have. I love talking to the guys and catching up about our week, and listening to recommendations. I feel like a valued customer and theyve got my loyalty and business for as long as Im buying comics!

I got the most amazing deal on Pokemon singles from a guy who looked like Tom Cruise.

It was cramped and jam packed.....of the most amazingly priced comics and old toys you cant find on shelves in other stores! I only wish they carried miniature games!

Comics,MTG, everything awesome and nerdy

Lately Ive been coming shortly after they open and the folks there have been helpful. I was helped by 3 folks over 2 visits to get my comic list started. They had recommendations for new and older comics alike

I had no clue about comic books or collectibles. I found some comics from the early 90’s that were not worth very much. These folks were kind and took a look at them. Meanwhile, I walked around their store! It’s really cool! I ended up with an original pack of Batman notecards and envelopes! Ha!It’s clean. It’s tidy. The people are welcoming. Great place to spend some time, even if you’re not a comic fan.

Been shopping here for 14 years. Staff is great prices are by far the best. Owner is probably one of smartest comic dealers in country who knows trends and goes to conventions around US. Don’t like the organized chaos? - then find another place with a worse selection and higher prices. The Encounter is by far the best LCS in the region and beyond.

This little gem of a comic store was actually a shock to us. We werent expecting it to have as much as it did inside and were pleasantly surprised with what fair prices everything had. Highly recommend!

Pretty great comic and game store. Wish there were some more games and things other than cards and comics. It does have a grest open area to play card or board games as well. If youre nerdy and in Bethlehem its a great place to go.

By far the best store in the area as far as comics go. HUGE selection and the prices are dirt cheap. Most of their back issues range from 1 to 2 dollars, no matter the popularity or age of the book. The only issue is the organization could be a tad better and its a bit of a hole. Other than that, you cant ask for much more.

I buy Magic the Gathering here often, mostly singles. What I would like to emphasize to whomever is reading this review is their impressive game inventory. They also run game demos often.

I love this store! Cards, board games, video games, comics, and collectable action figures/toys, etc. I like to go there mainly for Magic the Gathering cards. They have binders from practically every set from 1993s first release up to Current Sets in Standard. They have so much cool stuff to look at its amazing. You could be there for hours immersed in just gandering. 5*****s!

Interesting various wares. Collectible card games. Video games. Fine comics selection. Packaged and loose action figures. Multiple organized events happening on top of one another (Yugioh, Magic the Gathering, VS, etc) made for a lively but cramped gaming environment. Also, the place looks very run down and a bit dirty. Nightmare parking.

Great value and prize support. Theyre fair on trades as well, as fair as they can be, after all they are a business and do need to make a profit . Made a couple trades there and felt like i was treated very fairly.

First time visit, nice selection of back issues, prices were good on older issues, loved the $1.00 and fifty cent boxes. Will definitely be back when in the Allentown area.

I had been to this store long ago when it was down the street near the old Blockbuster (so you can image how long ago that was) and I didnt have a great experience so I went in a little apprehensive. They have a very large selection of comics and their discount on pull lists is the best Ive seen from all the stores in the area. The staff was very helpful towards me. They were willing to help me find what I was looking for when they couldnt they offered to order it but I regular a different store so I declined. They have a very large selection of 50¢ and $1.50 comics which is nice. Found entire runs of series I was looking for at an inexpensive price. My only complaints is the parking. There are 3 spots in the front, you park at the restaurant or next to Wendys.

Friendly and knowledgable staff, with great selection of items. They do hold MTG, yugioh and other trader card game events, as well as a board game night on Thursdays. They also recently started a more casual MTG commander league on Mondays from 5pm to 8pm, beginner friendly. The players are also friendly and courtesy. They also have a large selection of comic books and figurines.

Stopped in a couple times to browse the MTG collection they had. Very impressed with the variety of cards they had. Although, the staff is not to friendly, space is hard to come by in the store, and the store itself is probably the dirtiest comic/card store I have ever been to. Out of the three times I have been there, I have spent more time finding parking then actually being in the store. Just a nightmare

The place is good but they need to pay more for when people sell stuff to them (like 100 magic cards=50.00)

They have good selection of comics but the place is filthy and the staff smells like theyve never heard of showers. Everyone stares at you when u walk in like you have 3 heads. I tried selling an older comic there and the owner tried ripping me off talking to me like I have no clue what I have and telling me outright lies about it. Ive been collecting for 38 years and have a collection of over 200000 comics. I do not recommend this place

Amazing comics, manga, old games, board games, funko pop figures, graphic novels, and they even have comic themed guitars come in every now and then.

Was just in here for the first time today, such an amazing selection. so many comic books and graphic novels, i was caught off guard. i had specifically went in for pokémon cards since 2nd and Charles is overpriced and stopped selling most of their merchandise (why even?). they had great cards & it was hard to not buy every single one there, hell i felt like me asking the price of every single one was probably annoying the guy, haha. i was even pleasantly surprised to see they have MLP merch and i can’t find that anywhere but online.5 stars all around, will definitely make it a weekly/biweekly stop!

Use to better with the stuff they had there once in a blue moon they will have something good for cheap but that is about it
