Nice on the inside.The outside look a little shabby. The clerk was pleasant and knowledgeable of his products. I felt welcomed and the prices were far.

Would not recommend. This store is small, barely any room to move down the isle. Products are limited and no customer service. They make it seem like this place is black owned by calling Ebony Place but its owned by rude Asians. Dont shop there if you want to be starred down.

First time visiting the hair store and realized the following morning, I was over charged. Went into the store and the young man, wouldnt return my money for the overcharged items. Had receipt that was given to me by the lady, but the young man, stated that the receipt was not right. He said, it looks like the receipt was cut off, but its the same receipt I received from the lady and how she gave it to me. Me not paying attention to the total, I just paid what she stated, until it dawned on me the early morning hours........I wont return to this store again!!

Just left this place because I was treated very rude. I was about to buy a wig, and the lady told me I couldn’t and it was final sale. With the way Asians have been getting killed they shouldn’t be nasty attitude to anyone who is trying to spend money with them. They lucky I’m a nice person. I will tell everyone not to shop here.

Small store with minimal supply of lace wigs. The service was flat, cashier seemed uninterested and the owner walked around with a lackluster attitude.

We have been patrons for years. Don’t understand the negative reviews. The selection, while not Huge, is good quality and much lower priced than competitors. The owner is really sweet and always over the top helpful. I’ve Never once had poor service. I Enjoy supporting local small businesses, and Ebony Place is our go to store.

If you like being watched like a hawk, this place is definitely for you. These are Asian owners and it is very uncomfortable to walk around the store and have someone pretend like theyre not following or watching you. I get that some people steal but Id rather go all the way to Sanford or Orlando for a better and more comfortable shopping experience.Go there for yourself to see what I mean. But then again it could be the fact that I am a dark-skinned black woman and I did have on a black hoodie that day. 🤔

Thought it was just me, but I can totally relate to other reviewers. They do watch you the second you walk through the door as if you’re going to steal, make you feel rushed to buy & while I was not in store long the two times I went there, definitely didn’t feel welcomed. I’d rather drive to the other side of town for better prices & service.

Very, very tiny. Small selection, but good for a quick run for braiding hair. The quality of their products is also less than desirable. They do seem to be the only ethnic beauty supply in the area however, so whats a girl to do...?

I was hesitant because of the reviews but I recently moved down the street and figured why not lol I had a great time here. There aren’t a lot of wig options, it is a small store but I got a really nice wig for only $27. They have really cute earrings for only $1.99. I got some eyelashes too, idk about eyelashes but I thought they looked good. And the store owner was very nice to me, she gave me a discount and a free comb. They only take card over/close to $10 but that’s not the first time I’ve heard that. But yeah.. she was nice and there were other customers in the store that she treated the same. I’ll be returning. 😊

PSA: You will be watched while you shop! The prices are way too expensive. I only run in here when I need small items, that aren’t worth the far drive somewhere else.Update: Since writing this review, I have gone in and the owner has been more friendly. I don’t feel as monitored as before.

I see a lot of negative comments but, i had a pretty great experience. there is a small selection but i found what i needed with ease.

The lady kept saying over and over I could only try on 3 wigs before I even tried on 1. She wanted to sell me a ragged synthetic wig for $50 and when I asked to try on the lace front she said are you sure? its expensive. I didnt really appreciate her assuming my budget nor did I ask for the suggestion. Crappy customer service and limited hair selection.

Customer service is horrible. They gave me the wrong length braiding hair. I didnt realize it until I sat down to get my hair braided. I ended up having to go to another store to get the right size. I took the unopened wrong sizes back to them for a refund. They conversed on they language and said I asked for the wrong size. I never shopped there again.

Its getting better it was a guy there today who was very helpful I complimented him on his service.

These are ungrateful people with overpriced merchandise. They have no customer service and do not value their customers. They are disrespectful. I will never patronize a place that exhibits dispise for the community they serve.

VERY limited product and non-existent customer service. It wouldnt be worth it to go to this store even if I lived down the street. And they keep more of the products behind the counter. I went in for one thing and decided to go elsewhere. To be brief, dont waste your time or gas, as I did.

Did not like this beauty supply store (if you can even call it that) AT ALL. I felt the prejudice vibes as soon as I walked in; the man watched me and my sister the entire time and he kept asking us what we were looking for, I shouldn’t have to tell you what I’m looking for if I didn’t ask for your help. People work hard for their money and it’s insulting when you assume that I’m trying to steal something when you clearly saw me with my purse! You don’t treat paying customers that way!!!!

I actually enjoy going in this area I go to the bookstore and a few of the other places and I always get good deals so yes I like it ok

Today was my 1st time coming to Ebony Place. When I walked in I notice how dirty the floor was like filthy but a Japanese guy greeted me as soon as I walked in I went in there to get a wig a lace frontal to be exact. I was very disappointed with the limited selection they have. Most hair stores chathe 50 Cent for a stocking cap to try on 3 wigs well they charge you a dollar 3 wigs. The store is very small they should get a bigger place with more hair I was told that this is a black owned business and if that is the case Im very disappointed I know of several good hair stores that looks a lot nicer have more hair selection who are owned by Chinese or Japanese I definitely think Chinese in Japanese should get their coins to but since there are not a lot of African American owned hair stores I believe the little ones that are out there should be five star to show the world that black owned businesses can have five star customer service and be successful too I picked out a burgundy wig but once I got to the counter they only had it in one color black and blonde because I know blonde look good on me I took it I mean I didnt even have any other options except going to another hair store but I didnt want to travel far I usually go to a hair store 20 to 30 mins away its sad to say this will be my 1st and last time spending my coins at Ebony Place unless they do a complete 360. Oh one more thing when I was in the store they refused to let this girl try on another 3 wigs saying oh we closing soon it was like 6:15pm and they closed at 7pm it would have not taken home girl 45 mins to try on a wig the current time right now is 6:46 pm and I just pulled up to Wal-Mart lol they basically closed early because when I called before I went I asked what time do you close they guy was like we close at 7pm but we are going to then stopped mid sentence and said oh we close at 7pm Lol the owner needs to hire me because I would turn that place around for the better for sure the rating would go from 2.0 to at least 4.5 trust that. My only advice for potential customers is if your bougie about hair dont go lol

Same quality products youd find at an outdoor flea market. If they get 5 stars then its the owners who did that.

If I could give 0 starts I would! The worst service ever! These people sell with fear! They eye everyone as if they are going to shoplift and you feel rushed to make a decision. Very unpleasant place to shop. You cant shop in peace and take your time to compare products or make a decision before you purchase. Never shopping from here again!

Well when I first moved to Florida this is the first hair store I got introduced to. The prices are ok and I bought a pack of hair and I asked her if it could curl she said yes. FYI it didnt. Came back and told her that the hair couldnt curl, she showed me another pack...... That didnt either. so I found another hair store in Forest City wayyyyyyyyyy better. Came here the other day and bought couple make up and making the payment took my card out to early and it was like hell broke loose.. she had a whole attitude and kept repeating with a attitude to leave it in until i had to tell her, i heard you the first time you dont have to repeat it with a attitude. She just reminded me why I stopped going there.

This place is horrible.I just got in the place and ask for clip hair extensions THE LADY show me the extensions I she TOLD me that I can’t touch the hair.So how I’m going to know if the hair I human or not? And she told me $57 for 18 inches and I can’t touch the hair cuz she said then she can’t fix it .HORRIBLE DONT BUY THERE.

I live in this area and i wouldnt buy hair here if my life depends on it. I drive to Orlando to the hair stores because ebony is rude and they make you feel unwelcome by always watching like someone is going to rob them or steal from them. The hair selection sucks

Don’t shop here! Every time I come here the lady behind the counter is always looking at everyone coming in as if they’re a thief. I always buy items from here. This is the only hair store by my house. Today she tells me I can’t use my debit card for purchases unless it’s $10 or more. I said no problem and I walked out. I will never shop at this store again! She has a limited selection and her prices are high!

Anyway as I walk in she said nothing no Hello how may I help you. She acted as if she didn’t want me there so I left. Customer service here needs more work.
