Great guy and awesome mechanic! He listen to everything I had to say about what was going on with my car and had me bring it in to make sure what the issue was before giving me a price which was very fair. I appreciate that he explained what he did, showed me the new and old part to ensure no funny business, and made me feel comfortable trusting what he did. So far so good. I will definitely return if needed.

I’ve never been one to write a review, but after my experience with Kinder Auto, there was no chance I was going to skip sharing the amazing experience I had.As a young and unknowledgeable adult, mechanics just scare me. I brought my TJ Wrangler into Kinder Auto, which had been sitting for two years, and informed Nick (the owner) of this. Nick could’ve told me I needed an entirely new engine and transmission (original fear) and I would’ve believed him, but instead he told me that the condition of my Jeep was amazing and asked how I found it, as if we were family friends.When it came to repairs I did need.. I had been told elsewhere that my U-Joints were close to rusting out, so I asked Nick to replace them all and instead of doing exactly as I requested, he told me I only needed two replaced instead of all five, saving me money. He also went out of his way to restore the color of my fender flares instead of replacing them like I wanted to pay for, without even charging me for it. On top of all of this, he also let me bring in parts I had forgotten to mention earlier and made the time to install them for me!I can’t begin to explain how relieved I am to have found a mechanic that I’ll be going to for life. Huge thanks to Kinder Auto for not only fixingup my Jeep, but giving me the time of day to answer the thousands of questions I had been saving!

Nick Kinder is a saint. I take my car to him for everything. He is an honest, hard working guy & very reasonably priced. He will explain everything in detail, be very transparent and up front with you. If you aren’t in the area I would make the drive to see him, because he is worth it. He does anything he can to make sure your car is back on the road and can get you in and out in a timely manner & he is just a phone call away. Thank you for all you do Nickk 😊

I found a pretty bad oil leak on my Civic on Thanksgiving but I couldnt see where it was coming from, so after debating on potentially messing my car up by running it to find the leak, I decided to take it to a shop which was hard for me to do after my clutch fiasco with another shop. Based on some research, I thought I had a faulty oil pressure sensor so I picked one up and had my car towed to Kinder Auto Repair with the replacement part in the cup holder. The mechanic(and owner I believe?), Nick, called me and asked if I had the issue diagnosed by another shop because he couldnt find any issues after changing the oil and running it for a while so it wasnt the oil pressure sensor like I thought. I told him when I drained the oil to change it my drain plug was loose, he said that it probably backed out and that the spray pattern indicated that was the likely issue. He could have just replaced the part and charged me for it and I wouldnt have known the difference. On top of that, he told me about a few other issues he found while inspecting my car and he was the nicest mechanic Ive ever gone to. He ended up just charging me for an oil change and the inspection which I was more than happy to pay. If you need any auto work done in the metro STL area I highly recommend Kinder, theyve been around for a long time and I can see why. Theyre nice, professional, thorough, honest and dont charge you for stuff you dont need (which shouldnt be a bonus, but unfortunately it is from my experience).

Nick was absolutely wonderful and super quick with his response and due diligence. Would recommend 100% - being new to the area and completely uncertain about the issues I was having, he took care of everything and made sure we understood all that was necessary for future maintenance. Nick got my car fixed up in quick time, for less than big name auto shops were quoting me. He was honest and straightforward about everything, and now my car is running so much better. Will be returning if I ever need more work on my car.

I called the day before to get a quote on an ignition coil problem. He gave me the price and told me when to bring my car in and how long it would take. I paid exactly what we agreed upon (no hidden fees) and my car is running back in tip top shape. His prices were lower then when I googled how much it would cost. Guy was honest, professional and dependable! Ive found who Im coming to for all my vehicle needs!

While in town from Texas I came to Kinder Auto Repair for an oil change. Upon entering the garage Nick has a great spirit about him. Nick is a Jeep guy (not only Jeeps, so if you have another make/model, dont skip this garage), and I need a mechanic who knows the problems typical to my Jeeps vintage. Reasonably priced, professional and quick service

I feel terrible its taken so long to send a review but, this place is well over due for one. I had my 2009 Honda civic si go in for a clutch. Ive had issues with mechanics in the past so I was TERRIFIED to go to ANYONE. Put my trust in this Nick at Kinder Automotive and he was great. Forward on everything and I felt like he cared about his work. I would highly recommend this place to everyone. This guy does right by people.
