We called ahead of time to see if they had any treestands for hunting. Was informed they had several out in the garden area. After we asked for help locating the stands, the employee showed us 2 left and said their inventory was way down from the year before with Covid and all. Wasted 40 min drive there to only leave with a Snickers bar.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. They helped me find the wing nut I need super quickly and the checkout was nice and set up for COVID safety. Ill definitely come here again next time Im in Iowa and need something. Also probably the cleanest and best lit Menards Ive been to. Great store.

Menards has an amazing selection of dog treats and dog food as well as other accessories but they dont carry Royal Canin dog food. So I went there for dog food they didnt have and left with lots of dog treats and bird feeders and bird seed. Ill just have to get my dog food elsewhere. But I do enjoy shopping at Menards especially without a mask.

Wow....so disappointing. Went in for a couple cement board trim boards, ordered at the counter and paid, all went fine. Entered the yard for pick up, the guard no longer lets you in, but instead you scan your ticket for entrance. However, no indication on ticket, no map provided or no help from scanner where to find your items. After driving thru all areas where it made sense, but still couldn’t find, headed back to guard shack. He sent us off to the wrong location....back again at guard shack so he calls for assistance from an employee. 15 min later, still no help. Back into the store for a refund....and now we’re at Lowe’s where they actually help you. In and out in less than 10 minutes. Save big money at Menards.?.

Look I like Menards. If youre the type of person that is diligent when it comes to rebates youll almost always be rewarded with shopping at Menards especially if they have a sale going on.

Would have been more stars if someone had helped me load the 24 4x4x8 pressure treated posts and 8 bags of concrete. But no it took 3 employees to help the pretty blonde load 6 bags of mulch.

Great place!! Only drawback is the rebate program. Rather they just cut the price and save the costumers the hassle of applying for the rebates.

Very poor customer service. Would not price match even though we had the exact same item found at Home Depot. Just because it wasnt in stock. Not only was it only 40 dollars they also lost 300 dollars in sales due to me not purchasing any of the other items I had in the cart. Will not go back. I will shop somewhere else. Hope the 40 dollars was worth it.

Very good, Asked someone to help me find the ACs. He was very helpful. Then I wasnt sure if I could lift the AC off the shelf myself and into a cart. Went down one asile and another associate was more then happy to help me!

This Menards located in Altoona by far exceeds the one on 14th off Army post rd. I dont know that i would return to that atore ever. Altoona location has a lot more competent employees and all around a way better store. An example that all Menards should strive to be like.

Amazing how bear some of the shelves were for the things we needed.

With enterprise a few items and buy some household goods. Saw the garden hose reel I wanted and noticed it was a little higher priced it at Home Depot. I asked the cashier if we could price match it. She brought over a manager and even though it was the same unit, same brand, same specs, They would not price match it because it had a different model number. Manufacturers do this so that stores that offer a price match guarantee can get away with not price matching. Funk should be aware of that before heading to stores that offer price match guarantee. I didn’t really like Menards before still really don’t like Menards.

Walked up to the back service counter to order wood. Eye to eye contact with this guy Steve. For him to to turn and act busy. For a guy to come in behind me to be served. Thank you Ill take my business across the street to Lowes.

Was there today and no one knows how to give me a quick connect for a air hose and a stucco sprayer. I personally think they would be more trained to assist folks after being at one department and then told to go to plumbing where that person wasnt able to assist me. I went back to where I was at and a lady tried her best but upon getting home it wasnt the right thing I needed. Ugh.

Menards is a group of piglets in a hog house. The employees seem generally unfamiliar when asked questions of product placement. Helpful, but not really. Then there exists the Mask Police, had my mask slip down for a few moments while riding in a handicapped cart. Then a young worker hunted me down and demanded that I place my mask over my face while in the store. I informed him that my mask had slipped down while driving the cart and that I had issues breathing. Awfully invasive and rude.

Its menards. Ok staff can be off and on. Sometimes helpful and others look at you like what do you want

I love the Clarence sales end caps they have at Menards in Altoona Iowa I always find awesome deals at bottom dollar prices things that you would never expect to find for just a few dollars. Im always picking up bargains.

Recently bought a snow blower from Menards. Only had it for 10 days and used it less than 10 minutes before drive cable broke due to someone assembling it wrong. All Menards says is sorry about your luck, here’s a number to a repair shop. I had to rent a truck from Menards to get the snow blower home and now they want me to rent another to drop it off at a repair shop then again to get it home when it’s done. I’ll be shopping elsewhere from now on.

They were open when everyone lost power. Help when all of us inside the store needed it the most. Holding to a mask policy early on, to try to keep everyone safe makes me happy to come back

The customer service rep, Ashleigh is the ONLY reason I can give this store 5 stars.I purchased several fence posts and confirmed multiple times that they had them in stock prior to paying. I went ahead and paid over the phone and showed up that evening to pick up the posts.It turns out they only had about half of what I just purchased that day in stock. I was so frustrated and about to just get all my money back and go elsewhere when Ashleigh fixed ALL of this. She went above and beyond for me by taking the menards rental truck to Clive, picking up their stock, and brought it back to the Altoona store so I didn’t have to get a refund and purchase the product at a different menards store.

Im a handyman so I love Menards. Im old with bad knees so I dont appreciate the excessive walking (my problem). Great selection though and great staff.

And they have a good selection on most of the things that youll need for home projects. However staff is not overly experienced or knowledgeable in some of the areas that I would think they should be.

I love Menards. 95%of the time you can always find the help you need. And if that employee cant help you they find someone.Menards would keep me broke if I worked there n learned of more things I need to do the many projects I have steering around in my head.Thank you Menards n all their employees in the store, lumber yard or garden area. I dont like masks this is stupid.

They didnt have the sizes of plywood that I needed, so I had to purchase additional material and cut it down, thereby wasting my time and money. They also did not have any identification numbers on the material, again wasting my time and holding up other customers in the checkout line while the clerk called someone over to look up the numbers.

We came to pick up all of our deck materials, not knowing we needed to pick all of the materials ourselves (which was diappointing not knowing ahead of time). All of the guys in the decking material area went above & beyond to help us get everything on our list! And (I think Tyler?)in the hardware deaprtment helped us get all the rest of the parts on our list along with the bags of concrete (outside of his area) and helped us load them in our trailer went way above & beyond for us!! I think this will be the last time I make Menards my primary home improvement store. I have pretty much remodeled my house from the ground up. During the last few years of the home remodeling projects I have came to Menards seeking advice from what I thought was advertised as a DIY store. Well apparently not. When you ask employees simple questions you get attitude and disrespect. Today was the final straw resulting in me leaving behind my entire shopping cart full of items to start the complete remodeling project in my bathroom. Id suggest if you have simple questions for a DIY project NOT to shop at Menards.

I went in for a couple of things and ended up getting several more things that werent on my list. 🙂 They just have so many things there.

Want to throw a huge kudos out to Kat. I believe she is a front end manager. I had misplaced an order online and was not being able to get any resolution from Emily in customer service. The only time Emily would respond is after I would come in the store and Kat would reach out to her about the issue. Emily is a horrible customer service employee/horrible representation of Menards. Im grateful that there are kind people like Kat that go out of their way to get my order taken care of.

Friendly helpful the price of lumber is out of this world. But thats everywhere.

The menards corporation, is discriminating against people with disabilities. I have at best 50% the lung capacity of the average health person but in actuality its far from it. But because I wad born with a rare hearth defect. Im unable to ware a mask as I would quickly suffice. If this company policy of discrimination dont end soon. I entend to sue.
