40 mins. For a 6 pack of donuts. Had I not already paid, I wouldve left. Its myself and two other customers in store, they arent busy.
Had such a nice time here over the weekend. The customer service was great. The frozen yogurt was refreshing and delicious. I liked the orange flavor a lot, and the pineapple. The atmosphere is cheerful too. But my favorite thing is actually the mini donuts. And Im not even a donut person. My favorite is the one with the vanilla frosting, whipped cream and fresh raspberries.
Always have had good experiences at this location, but tonight was a little different. I went to the bathroom and there was a plugged in and turned on curling iron sitting by the sink. When I brought it to the attention of, who I assumed was the manager and seemed to be the only person working, she informed me it was hers. Additionally, we had to wait around 5 minutes at the counter before she came out to the register despite the fact that the door alarm was going off and we weren’t being quiet about being ready to pay. It was a clean place to sit and the food was good, but the customer service and safety left something to be desired.
On two separate occasions now morning person has not work a mask. The nice girl that works in the afternoon has always worn her mask when we go can’t see why the morning person can’t considering we’re in the middle of a global pandemic.
The restaurant was very clean and bright, with lots of toppings and flavors to choose from. An employee named Gretchen was really sweet, and gave us freshly cooked donuts! Overall it was a pleasant experience.
Yogurt was great as always. employees chose not to wear masks and were rather rude when addressed about it.
This was truly a wonderful experience! We came within 30 minutes of closing but staff was still friendly and helpful. They also had mini donuts served there and they gave us 2 extra to try! Would come back in a heartbeat!
Self service its good and you pay at desk. It was very expressive BUT what a yummy treats. Not sure of the ice cream is kosher or not but I ate it anyway so ask!
My favorite dessert in Ames. Frozen yogurt isn’t for everybody, but I like it better than ice cream. They have quite a few flavors to choose from. It’s a self-serve system where you can add as many flavors and toppings as you’d like. You pay by the weight of your bowl. On Wednesdays you can put as much as you want for $5.
After putting multiple years of time, effort and passion into this job I’m disappointed to give the honest review I am. The current ownership has continued to surprise me with the lack of respect they have for their employees. After being called ‘Daisy’ for the shorts that I was wearing, being asked if I was pregnant, and the belittling I realized I no longer was able to work for them. They turned a job I loved into something I couldn’t do anymore because of the actions and comments made. Orange Leaf is a wonderful company to work for with the right people behind it but currently that is not what this location is.
Actually stopped on at Humble mini donuts. Lots of choices and they made them fresh. Good job
Logan was a shining example of what customer service once was in the days of yore. Amongst the dank and depressing landscape of the modern and impersonal “service” industry (a term I use as loosely as possible), this young man not only improves our order by doubling our donuts, he gave us a joke and a smile. He offered the kind of service that used to be a staple of neighborhood hangouts, the places where you could go and everybody knew your name. Logan knows your name. We know Logan’s name. Logan does not know our names. But he will...
Logan was the nicest yogo server you’ll ever meet! Great place to hang out with friends! Highly recommend!
Never disappoints. Only thing I can think of that made me depressed was my pistachio flavored froyo wasnt there that evening. But not a complaint or something that warrants less than 5 star perfection from me.
Logan is a great employee. Super helpful and friendly. Highly recommend the tart flavor!
Talked with the manager she was awesome. Offered us samples before we decided what we wanted to get. Love the $5 Wednesdays
The service is very fast. The frozen yogurt is so tasty. I really like the varity of toppings. I didnt try it but they also have shakes. The flavors of frozen yogurt change regularly. Priced by the ounce so you can control your cost and serving size. Toppings include various sauces.
Not advertised as much as it should be, but this place has the best miniature donuts! Yum! We also love their $5 fill-up night on their frozen yogurt!
The staff is always friendly and helpful. They have two dairy free flavors, although Ive never tried them.I am lactose intolerant, but Ive never had a bad reaction from their regular frozen yogurt flavors (in contrast, I cant have actual ice cream anymore).Edit: Dont drink the coffee. It always tastes burnt. Im still leaving my 5 start review because no one really goes to Orange Leaf for coffee.
I never like the flavors as much as I want to and it seems a little expensive for what you get. That said, the flavor selection is diverse and you should be able to find something to like. Its not a bad place, just not my first choice.
I love the yogurt but seems like theres less choices since they opened. Kind of pricey
Love varieties and pleasant workers. Nice place to take family, or enjoy a light date.
Used to go quite a bit with my grandkids. We went today, 4 flavors (1 of them being coffee which is the reason I go) were out of order. The flavors we purchased were brownie batter & peanut butter and chocolate. Unfortunately, there was very little flavor in either of them. They used to be better. We were pretty disappointed.
I worked here for a couple months. The turnover rate is insane due to management of the store. The stores tasks have taken so many shortcuts since the very old manager left. New manager has been rude to staff and customers. I have run into old customer “regulars” pretty consistently around town complaining about the stores cleanliness, quality, and new manager. I put my heart into the store (when I was there) and it’s sad nothing I said was taken seriously and I was not appreciated. Please support businesses that take their employees seriously.
Very Disappointed with the service tonight. Both cashiers totally ignored us while our yogurt was melting. Definitely not going back.
Nice place to hang out with friends. Many yogurt machines were out of order and they did not accept card at the time because the previous cashier locked it. But it was fine, cashier handled it quite nice.
Great place to go for a quick dessert of your own creation. They always seem to have new flavors of yogurt to try but they havent gotten rid of my favorites! I love this place but I wish the prices were slightly lower so we could afford to go more often.
Topping bar was dirty and needed refreshed. Floors sticky. Ames store used to be out favorite due to cleanliness, very disappointed
I like the product but I have to admit, I am not really a fan of their concept...the workers hide in the back playing with their phones while you serve your own ice cream--excuse me...froyo--and then theres a tip jar? And for the uninitiated, it can be easy to go overboard putting too much frozen yogurt in your container or dumping on too many toppings and ending up with a really expensive treat, like I would have done if I hadnt been warned ahead of time.Their new Sweet Minis donut thing is a nice idea, but the execution could be improved. Its far too labor-intensive and if there is any line whatsoever, you could easily be waiting for more than 30 minutes like I did the first time I went. It seemed to take pretty close to that the second time I went, when there were only two people ahead of me.One minute per donut is a pretty good estimate for calculating your wait time. Multiply that by the number of people ahead of you (even if they are just waiting for their orders), times 6 or 12 donuts depending on whether a promo is going on. If there are two people making donuts, you can only divide by 1.5 or 1.8 since the decorating area is only set up for one person and they keep getting in each others way. Some of the workers are much faster than others, but the number of different donut flavors allowed on a single order is also a major problem for efficiency. But on the other hand, getting to choose multiple flavors is a huge selling point.
A trendy environment with delicious frozen yogurt. A wide variety of options for tasty treats to add to your dish. I highly recommend adding the gummy frogs to you your dish
Went to Orange Leaf at 2:15 and it was supposed to open at 2. There was no one there and door was locked. As we were in the parking lot about to leave a car flies in going about 45 mph and some crack head jumped out the car screaming “I’m here I’m here”. As we walked up to the door thinking we could get our frozen yogurt, she proceeds to do tweaky movements and tells us it will be at least 15 minutes before we can go in because she has to open the store. What. A. Mess.
They serve frozen yogurt here, not oranges or leafs. The chairs are very short, so if youre tall, prepare to squat. But they also have a bar-like-table along the windows with tall seats for tall people. The yogurt here is frozen like ice cream, but its not ice cream--its yogurt. They have many flavors and you pay by the ounce, not by the serving size. The walls here are orange and green: kind of obnoxious, but if youre into that sort of thing, cool. They have deals on Wednesdays: get whatever you want for $5.
I love that you can choose the toppings as you like. Also the choice of yogurt flavours is nice. Not enough fruits as topping, however. And I miss the yogurt original flavour as a possibility.
Staff is great but its not the same as it was a couple months back. Doesnt taste the same at all. Friends agreed. Guess its cold stone for me.
Im a super fan of fro-yo and this place is amazing. Great fro-yo flavors and a wide variety of toppings. A little pricey but all fro-yo places normally are.
I like the variety of flavors to choose from and that I can put on as much toppings as I want. I wish the prices were not so high. I would go more often if prices were lower.
There was this beautiful woman named Danielle that was very helpful and polite
Pretty clean place. Lots of selections and reasonably priced.
Love this place!!! The froyo is light and delicious! Soooooooo many flavors to choose from. I’ve had frozen yogurt all over the US and it is a privilege to have the best tasting froyo right here in Ames, Iowa. Orange Leaf is da best👍🏽
Smorgasbord of yummy toppings and several frozen yogurt flavors!
Very good frozen yogurt and mini donuts.
I forgot my credit card and Bailey & crew handled the situation with grace and kindness. I am extremely grateful and will be returning often.
Great frozen yogurt and a quiet small little shop. Great build your own dish system.
Huge selection of delicious flavours, but they dont have the plain one sadly. Huge selection of mouthwatering toppings, but the only fresh fruit is strawberries I think.
Love the brownie flavor! Definitely the best frozen yogurt out there. Lot of topping options!
We have loved Orange Leaf for years. The addition of Sweet Mini Donuts only makes it better!
Love to collect all daughters friends on a Wednesday and treat them to all you can fill in your bucket wed deal.
Most of their froyo machines werent in use so we only had half the amount of flavor choices
Nothing really stood out. The yogurt was bland, even my son mentioned he couldnt taste the chocolate yogurt. The staff was completely indifferent to our presence except to take our money. The decor was the only cool thing about the place.
Always clean and the staff are friendly. I just wish the flavors rotated a bit more.
Good ice cream and 5$ cup Wed deal!
It has lots of fun and good flavors and lots of different viriaties of flavors but they open late and aren’t there on time
Orange Leaf always has the best flavors of frozen yogurt. The store is sometimes a little unclean and they could do a better job of wiping down tables.
Great variety..always tasty!
This place has fallen several notches in its quality of service provided since my last visit of about 6 - 7 months ago. Several frozen yogurt flavors dispensers were inoperative or malfunctions; customers therefore much reduced flavor choices. One or two dispensing stations had mounts of unsightly frozen yogurt piles left on platforms of malfunctions dispensing machines. ALL this displayed and turning entering customers off on one of the hottest afternoons [in the low 90s] weve experienced so far for summer of 2018.Mens restroom no longer maintained with spotless cleanliness as before and its door lock is in disrepair.Counter employees seemed abit lethargic in attitudes toward customer service.Ive observed that Ames and Ankeny competition for this stores customers has gone belly up thus it may be conjectured that franchise ownership or management now feel O.K. to let the quality of the customer service slide.
Very good frozen yogurt and such a variety of flavors to choose from.
Wednesday $5 fill your cup is a great deal!
It has a friendly environment and great ice cream.
The donut shoppe thing is weird, and they hardly ever have coffee flavor (my fave). Clean place and friendly staff. Always a good time with froyo.
Ladt night, they didnt ask for my store card. When I said i have a store cardshe said well its too late. Not very happy about that! Thanks a lot.
Pretty cool place, and they got mini donuts too!
Good selection or frozen yogurt and donuts!
Delicious yoghurt, at a reasonable price. And the toppings are delicious. Esp the boba.
Awesome choices and endless combinations!
They make the donuts fresh when you order. Pretty darn good
Love their frozen yogurt - one of the most hip hangouts in Ames
Fro yo so mo fo good
The mint chocolate and coffee are a good combo...
This is a frozen yogurt ice cream that must take a rating 9f 10 stars. They have also large varity of nuts.
