Good sandwich place. Large indoor space with plenty of seating. Has a fun, kitschy vibe with vintage food-related decorations. Id recommend for takeout or dine in, especially for families.I wouldn’t really call it a deli though (they didn’t have all the side options I would expect from a full deli). The sandwiches are very good though.

Just a perfect day! We were able to eat outdoors in the shade and relax. Our food was visually appealing and yummy. We just sat there feeling sorry for all the other restaurants in sight, who had no customers! This place was bustling, and the many staff members were hustling!! 2 registers were going, efficiently taking orders from a line of customers that was out the door. Despite this being their busiest time, our order was delivered to our table in 15 minutes!

Gigantic, delicious menu! Scrumptious desserts! We will definitely go here again and again!

Excellent lunch of BLT, slaw and chowder today. Carrot cake and a qt of chowder ordered to go. Good and quick service! Will visit again.

I came in to take pictures of the gorgeous building and vintage decor (ig @erikalamothephotography) and had to come back to order food and dear lord they made really good food. The garden sandwich I had was seasoned well and full of fresh vegetation. Loved the flavors and would definitely come back more often if I didn’t live in Bellingham

Ive tried many different things on the menu and everything is delicious.

This is a great local deli-brunch-lunch place. There was a nice selection of sandwiches, but they also had some breakfast food and pastries and could make espresso coffee drinks. The sandwich bread was excellent and the filings were fresh and high quality.This made for a great stop before jumping on the Anacortes ferry. We bought an extra sandwich and it was still great later that night. No getting soggy or dry or falling apart.

Great sandwiches. Very very busy but well managed. Call ahead or order online to skip the long order line. There is a separate cash register on the right side for phone and online orders. A few local beers are available on tap. Several tables outside for that seating option.

Top-notch deli! TONS of options to choose from and got options for the vegetarians out there too! My favorite is their Fresh Mozza sandwich with no meat, its DELICIOUS! They also have a wide variety of waters, sodas, and juices to choose from. Only warning is to get there early or be prepared to wait a little bit, the place is busy for a reason! :) *Not currently open on Mondays*

Never had a bad meal from the Deli. If you are looking for a place to eat look no further. The entire menu is amazing. Salads are a full plate. Sandwiches will put you in a food coma, in the best way possible. The kids love the cinnamon rolls and brownies.

Best chicken and rice soup I have had in a restaurant. Good cheesecake and excellent Raspberry cider.

There was a bit of a wait - and I understand why. our Mozza was superb - we added Turkey to make more of a full meal out of the sandwich and they split the sandwich for us - wrapping it into separate sandwiches with sides as well. This worked great as we were headed out of town on bike toward Oak harbor and had quite.a ride ahead of us.Very nice people and excellent food, just be prepared to wait a bit for it - this is not McDonalds.

Awesome BLTA, gobbler sammie, and desserts. The Greek salad was really great too and I could eat those till I got sick. They forgot the clam chowder and I’m hoping it’s an easy fix but they’re closed Sunday and Mondays!

My fiancé & I went down south & stayed a night in The Majestic right next door. He brought me to this place so I could try it out. I had a feeling I was going to love it! ..Boy was I right! Their sandwiches are bomb! ..Absolutely delicious! ..We will DEFINITELY be coming back, and very frequently! A++++

Best Gobbler Ive ever had. Just the right amount of turkey, premium cranberries, premium cream cheese and mayo.

This was a wonderful pick for lunch. They have a large menu to choose from with some great vegetarian options available. The sandwiches tasted great and with the chips, it was a good portion. Luckily, we arrived about 5 minutes right before the major lunch rush hit. The order line quickly filled and backed to the door. Still, service seemed to be quick for everyone. Theres also outdoor seating available.

Excellent sandwiches. Beware though to make sure whats in your sandwich. My error I wasnt aware my sandwich had horseradish. Even though I managed to scrape it off. Even so I had the roast beef, and my brother had the corn beef sandwiches they both were delish. If you like carrot cake this one is not to be missed. Honestly the best carrot cake I have ever had.

The panda dessert is what Ding Dongs wanted to be. Made me kid-happy even before our sandwich arrived, and delicious with coffee. The Some Like It Hot was even better! Warm and soft and savory. 11/10 will be back.

Gere-a Deli is an A-town classic, I know of NO ONE who has ever been disappointed here. The towns Mayor owns it... it is a town treasure! So much on the menu to choose from. Catering options as well. Fresh bakery items and huge selection of drink choices. Soups made daily. Do yourself a favor and get in there or order from there soon. You wont regret a bite.

Really excellent deli! My friend got the French dip, and she loved it. I ordered the Californian BLT, and although they forgot to put the guacamole on it, it was a truly excellent BLT. The place was slammed with loads of customers, so its obviously very popular. I will be back next time Im in the area!

I dont live in Anacortes, but had ordered some food over the phone to be delivered to someone else who does live there, for them to try. In that order was the Some Like It Hot sandwich (6 inch) + avocado (my addition) that sounded mouth-watering, among other items. Since the house is further out from the main part of town, I was charged a delivery fee. Given the ratings for this place, I thought it was a worthwhile price to pay.The order arrived on time, per the time theyd indicated to me, however, I later found out that theyd missed the sandwich in the delivery. I called the next day to notify them and see if there was any way they could still deliver the sandwich. The service was pleasant and they apologized, but unfortunately, said they were short on staff that day, so I was promptly given a refund instead. While I was disappointed that the sandwich wasnt going to be tried, I was satisfied with the refund as mistakes will happen from time to time, and there had been no dispute about whether a sandwich had, in fact, been delivered or not. The process was cordial and easy.Later that day, however, I was very pleased to receive word that a staff member named Abby had ended up delivering to the house not just a 6 Some Like It Hot sandwich, but a 12 one + avocado on the side! I have never written a review in my life but thought this merited one as Gere-a-Deli went above and beyond to ensure I ultimately got what Id been hoping for---which was to have a someone I am separated from due to COVID-19, feel warm, special and loved through good quality local food. Many thanks to the staff at Gere-a-Deli for making this happen!

My company has food catered quite a bit......this is an enchilada meal for 16 people??? $182.00 plus tax/tip???? Gouging you think? I wouldn’t have said anything but 2 months ago we had a similar issue. Perhaps they should weigh the servings.

With a 4.7 rating I figured I would be picking up the best sandwiches but unfortunately this was not the case. The bread was stale and sandwiches were bland. We didnt even eat the bread on one sandwich as it was so dry and stale. I waited a half hour to pick up my order too. The tiny portions of potato salad and coleslaw that come with were great though!

We went on a busy Saturday. the food sandwiches were very good, however they were very busy and very behind in togo orders. we ordered via phone and were told a 30min wait, it wound up being closer to an hour. Would come here again as the sandwiches were very good, but hopefully they can get the service worked out. I also saw someone in there who was waiting even longer for their food.

Took 30 minutes for them to deliver my sandwich to the table. I found two pieces of plastic wrap in my sandwich. When I presented it to the person they claim to be the manager, she just looked at me slackjaw, no apologies, no nothing.

Seriously fantastic. Went here on a recommendation from a friend and we were not disappointed! All three of us made custom sandwiches and the man helping us was so helpful in helping us make the perfect sandwiches for us! We tried both the French roll and the ciabatta bread and both were fresh and soft! They loaded the sandwiches with meat, so much so that my husband had to take some of it off to eat his whole sandwich. They are huge and so flavorful! I also got the root beer on tap, which I wasn’t a fan of but it was really good! It tasted a lot like black licorice, which I don’t like, but that’s totally a preference and not based on the quality! They had lots of places to sit and eat leisurely! Will definitely come back!

We enjoyed their Italian sub and it was easy to call in the order and then pick it up.

Love this place. Had tuna sandwich, club turkey sandwich, cheese cake and a brownie. Yum! Love the atmosphere.

I might have to go back again today to get my own NW Chop Salad after sampling it. The other food was great, but that salad could be the one meal I choose to eat for the rest of my life and never tire of.

Fun experience. If you arent a local, know this shop is owned by our beloved Mayor Laurie Gere and managed by her son. It is always consistently good food. Not the best place for vegan meals, but good vegetarian sandwich and a variety of salads. Best salad and sandwich menu youll ever find. Fun ambiance, but definitely not a quiet place to eat as it is so popular, but with good reason. Also has great, fresh-baked pastries for dessert and breakfast and lovely coffees.

Fantastic place for lunch (if you can get a seat) and recently one of my favorite places for a cup of drip and a breakfast sandwich. Definitely worth the trip and wait.

The food is always perfection at best. Whether its comfort food, like a ham and cheese sandwich or something healthy like thick, hearty soups or one of the many varieties of salads, its never a wrong choice. The food is great as is the atmosphere and the employees. Thats why we go back at least once every 10 days or so.
