Had my ps4 for over a month in a half. All I needed was my USB port replaced. Still isn’t done. They said they would call and give updates, not one call back, not one update. I HAD to call them.

Beyond perplexed. Worst experience with any business of any sort. I’d rather spend an afternoon at the DMV than deal with this outfit again. I dropped off an Xbox for repairs at the end of November 2020. I was in the process of moving out of state. I was told it would be a two week fix and, should I be gone, shipping it would not be a problem. I followed up a month later, no update. I was told I would receive a call the next day. No call came. I followed up another month (or so) later. Same thing. I was told to expect a call. No call came. Another month. Another promised phone call. Nothing. It has been damn near a year and I have not received an update or a phone call, let alone my Xbox returned. I’m mostly leaving this review hoping someone other than the single person I’ve been able to get on the phone sees this. Completely outrageous.

This was my 1st time there. I heard about about this place but I didnt know what to expect. Im glad that I went. They had to make a lot of changes due to covid and everything, but its still worth it to go. They have a great selection of game (both older and newer). I had thr great opportunity to speak with the owner son (sorry I forget his name). He is very knowledgeable and was able to answer my questions. Wr even had a good chat and I got to know about his and his families business better. They are good people. I will definitely visit again.

I cant wait until the pandemic is over and I can just browse the store for hours. Until then, Ill just keep using the web storefront- still great to browse all the titles and consoles virtually.

Love the guy that runs it. Hes always so helpful and friendly. If he isnt busy, he will have no problem talking to you about up coming new games you might like, and suggesting games he already has if you want to try something out. I always go to him first when I want something or having problems with a console.

I dont go there often because its on the other side of town, but Ive never had a bad experience with them. Theyre always friendly and do whatever they can to get me what I want. Much better experience than Gamestop.

They have a pretty good selection of used video games for lots of consoles, they also have a selection of accessories and some new titles as well. The only drawbacks are there is a ten minute selection time due to the mask disease and there prices for used games are less than new but there might be cheaper sales elsewhere if youre on a low budget and patient C: good store though C:

Videogame Depot has a great selection of retro and used games. They do console repairs and can order games for you. Theyre usually hosting events and run sales often. Theyre definitely worth checking out!

Cool store. I went in and bought a used gaming console. They appear to be in transition so far as adjusting to the COVID changes, but the customer service is good and they are a great place to pick up used games etc.

This is an awesome family owned store. Theyre always super helpful and knowledgeable, and they have an extensive collection of games an consoles. They also do an excellent job at restoring GameCube controllers. I really like this place, I highly recommend them for your video gaming needs.

I came in to buy a GameCube Power Cord but got completely distracted with all the retro games in there. I actually ended up buying the DMG GameBoy. I grew up with the DS Lite (Im 14 so it makes sense) but the GameBoy series and just old games from Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony (Sega and Atari not so much) are just so COOL! I also got a couple games like both of the Super Mario Lands, Links Awakening, and a couple others that are actually being returned today because they werent that fun. I guess while Im there I will get the Cord that I initially needed 😆. They also have reasonable prices. The GameBoy itself cost $50 and the other games were about $10 a piece. It all around came to $112 and Im probably going to get different games for it today. All around, great store, just be careful at night because the area around that place at night is sketchy. Not the store, but 26th and Spenard is just a bad place at night.

Video Game Depot is amazing! They have a huge selection of games and consoles, they do repairs (with warranties!), and they even have some puzzles and pop figures and such! I have lost count of the number of times I have stopped in to take a look around and the staff is always friendly and helpful. They even ship out of state if you need them too! I am so happy I found this place as I was getting tired of being jerked around and ripped off by other corporate chain stores. Highly recommend stopping by the next time youre looking for something video game related.

I had never been to Video Game Depot before last week and didnt even know it existed. I was pointed here by someone who said I might be able to get N64 controllers here. Sure enough the selection was bountiful at Video Game Depot. I wanted to give my 2 daughters the complete retro experience with actual N64 controllers. Its really nice having places like this in town instead of ordering and waiting on 2 week shipment times from online sellers. I am glad that I could get the parts I need and be dad all in the same day, we had a blast and theres more to come. Aside from controllers there selection is massive, I strongly suggest going here.

Any child of the 80s be hit hard by nostalgia here. This store is a paradox. It simultaneously feels well-organized and laid out, while also feeling like there are secret treasures to be discovered within the tremendous trove of old-school gaming paraphernalia.

This place is nice, has everything you can want! They easily repair scratched up disks and old broken gaming systems, as well as sell retro systems from an age long past. If youve still got old systems lying about, they have games for it here. Feels like reliving childhood. Will come again!

Only complaint is that for older systems, its hit or miss on them having hard to find games but thats to be expected being how game manufacturers quit making games for a system when a new system comes out. Other then that, I recommend them to everyone.

I truly have never seen such a variety of video games in one place. Everything from the Atari 2600 to the Xbox One is here and at really good prices. I told the gentleman running the store exactly what sort of game I was looking for and he helped me to find exactly what I wanted. This is a must visit store for anyone who enjoys video games!

Most of the items in the store are a little bit higher priced which is to be expected considering they are in Alaska. However dont try to show Mike that something is priced at double what it should be because he gets very angry and claims he has to pay for rent, employees, and make a living. Again not my fault. Most of the items in the store are way overpriced and easily available somewhere else.The worst part of it is when you try to sell him something he always tries to claim that its not worth very much and that he has a whole warehouse full of them. You look on the shelves and he has a few of said item for sale for an exorbitant price. I can understand paying someone $5 and selling something for $10 but trying to offer someone to dollars for something thats easily worth a $20 bill is a complete rip off. I agree with one other person who reviewed this place, avoid it like the plague.A word of advice to the owner, sometimes when you have a positive disposition and smile once in a while you would be amazed at the results. Every time someone comes in your store you always seem grumpy and you complain about everything. Not good for business.

Excellent selection of old school games kind of pricey

The service is amazing!!!! The owners do everything they can to make sure you get the products you need in both a timely manner and convenient price. Its a very enjoyable experience with plenty of laughter and mutual love of many types of games and game systems throughout the generations!

Ive only had great experiences coming to Video Game Depot. Very nice staff they have a huge variety of games of all kinds. Along with giving an area to test games and making sure all discs are clean when they leave the store. Perfect for any retro or modern gamer.

I took my son’s Xbox controller in to be fixed. They said it would be a week. A week later I called and they hadn’t even looked at it! I kept calling every week and after a month they finally said it was fixed. I picked it up and brought it home and it’s still broken! I won’t take it back there because I might never get it back! I will send it to Microsoft. It was a waste of time & money.

I pretty much buy only from Spenard Pawn Shop. Ive gone to the owner looking for consoles and games of all kinds. Ive be overwhelmed with the help hes given me. I tell him all the time I prefer to buy from here before I go anywhere else. This guy gets the gaming community, and he give back so much. Sadly its not the same way around I think.I find his humor is good and hes very knowledgeable about game and consoles. Ive bought a few things from him, and Im glad to say never had to bring anything back. But he always reminds me if theres something wrong bring it in, and itll get fixed. I mean I was looking for one game thats not coming out just yet and seem the only place taking orders for it was the manufacturers of the game. But he called six business, checked on if anyone was gonna get extra copies and even looked into buying one from the main site when they show it as being out of stock.So go down there, and show Video Game Depot some love.

My wife and I just returned from our second visit and we couldnt be happier. Its very convenient to walk in and instantly have every title readily available or in the next days mail whether we are looking for something mass produced or quite collectible. The staff are very knowledgable, friendly and quite helpful. They go out of their way to assist but know when to let you browse or mull it over as well.
