Living in Alaska there not to many music stores so I’m to report that this store is awesome. I was needing help for multiple instruments and the staff was helpful on all of them and gave me resources for teachers for the kids as well. Great customer service, I could tell it wasn’t about the money but it was because they loved music and loved what they do and because of that I’ll be coming back. Oh and they also have the best pianos selection I’ve seen so far in Alaska.

This place is crazy 🤪 and I can tell you that as scattered as it seems the one man who made the night was absolutely amazing. Kind and gentle. He is a older gentleman who volunteers his time here. Very attentive and patient. Took my son outside so he could practice the trombone. To see if he liked it. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

I usually enjoy my time here. They deal very well with me and my schools band program. The only complaint I had was when they wouldnt rent one of my students an instrument because of the childs size. Any child can begin any instrument if theyre determined enough. If my 4 foot some college professor can have her doctorate in trombone performance, a smaller 4th grader can play a baritone.

They have a ton of instruments I have never seen before and really bring back the 1980s with a few flutephone and pianophone instruments. All the kicks you need with drums, electric tophats, snares and bass. If you need to shake things up, they have various shakers and tambourines. Of course, if you want to go all out 1980s digital with their selection of instrumental variations, they have that too. I can literally hear The Sound of Music when I enter.Love it!

The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The gentleman that helped my daughter was young and was very patient with her. He spoke to her directly about the care of her violin, techniques to handle it, tips for better acoustics, and her posture in general. She was happy to receive the attention and detailed instruction about her instrument. The rest of the process for the parents in registering and payment process was also easy to navigate. I appreciated the fact, that when they picked up the first instrument for her, they noticed that something was off, and instead of pawning it off on us, they instinctively replaced it with a better instrument for my daughter without me fussing about it. I value their honest assessment and integrity in providing our children the best instruments at their disposal. I will continue using them again and again and recommend it to any other parents with young children.

I cant say enough about the overall impact that Hayden made on our child. He went out of his way, bent over backwards without asking him too and showed our son all the basics of how to use a clarinet. Gave a great suggestion of a used product we could afford and inspected it from top to bottom for us. After watching how passionate all these employees were its hands down the best music shop Ive been to. This experience gave all of us that early childhood tingle we got as child when someone did something nice. A simple thank you isnt enough for this type of customer service and you definitely scored a devoted customer base for this quality service you provide our town.

I’m not sure what is going on with pricing at this store. I stopped through the shop hoping to pick up a Yamaha FG800 acoustic guitar. They had the guitar in stock, but for some reason the price on it was $299.99 vs other places that sell them for $199.99. I’m all for supporting small local businesses, but I’m not going to pay 50% more than I need to. Luckily the Horn Doctor over on Ingra had the guitar for $199.99 and much more engaging staff to help me out.

Knowledgeable and very friendly employees! They do things right that shows how much they really care for their instruments. I love the whole rental package they provide to students to help them learn how to care for their instruments too. Great quality selections of Eastman and Yamaha viols. I highly recommend this place, they have the best customer service Ive ever experienced in Alaska!!!

This local music store has great deals on guitars and the employees are very generous and helpful. Even admist the quarantine, and their business was closed, they still saved the day by selling me a bridge pin on short notice when mine broke.Id like more people to support this local music store rather than the big guitar center.

They were so kind and took the time to have a lesson. They taught our 11 year old how to take care of her violin and how to put her music stand together. Excellent customer service and reasonable prices.

Kind of noisy, but a great sign. They certainly go the extra step to try and make sure you have what you need and it fits, even over the phone. Consistently helpful and friendly. The parking can be a bit dodgy at times so stay aware. Interior is clean and presentable every time.

Came here as soon as they closed and the young employees were understanding of the situation I was in. Out of the store in three minutes with reeds and my wallet in hand. The Music Man will definitely be my go-to for all of my instrumental needs.

This is a great place to find anything musical. They have anything from saxophones to guitars and they have a great program for elementary students who are just getting into music. Their rent to own policy is really nice and I would definitely recommend it. Also, they sponsor lots of musical activities, like private lessons and music groups. Definitely worth checking out if you are in need of anything musical.

EDIT: I have long since paid off the beginner instruments that my children purchased from this location. Still, years later, every employee bends over backwards to answer questions and offer guidance. When I need to work within a budget or I simply have a question that wont result in me spending any money, they remain just as eager to please. I honestly feel like these guys work for the love of the music more than the need of the paycheck.ORIGINAL REVIEW: These guys are all well versed in something to do with music. They each have different areas of expertise so they cant all answer any question that you put to them, but the answer will be found. You can rent, buy, or rent-to-own your instrument here. I have yet to go to them for something that one of my kids needed and not be able to get it, though one specific type of mute, they had to order.

Music man is a local music store that really cares about their customers. Everytime I go in I have a great experience, and the staff is awesome. I even got the pleasure of the manager playing and talking about one of the guitars.I would definitely check them out. They have a good selection of acoustic guitars, and amps. I bought an amp and it sounds amazing. Good prices. Thank you Music Man!

Vinnie is a great wealth of knowledge in the drumming industry plus very friendly sales and service department, like a down home feeling place. The musical lessons Im currently taking has taken my skills to the next level highly recommend it place to go if not just to check out any musical instruments plus they even have rental and a lay-a-plan is nice 👍

Great little shop. They are helpful and have a ton of stock. The nice guitar guy helped me choose new strings for my old guitar which I appreciated being somewhat of an amatuer

When I heard of them, the people told me they had all music lessons. And all instruments, I was delighted and I went. Finding no bass, nor bass lessons. I was highly disappointed. Their set costs $80 dollars, for 4 needed items. Not including the tuner. Im very disappointed.

Its a cool place if you seeking an instrument or a way to learn or some advice on how to help others in learning on how to play an instrument.

Just a comment regarding people who may wander in while waiting for their car to be finished with tires etc, just next door. It wouldnt kill you to at least say hello. Just sayin. I changed my mind on coming back here, as it seems you really dont need my money.

If you decide to go into the store and just look and play. The staff will be hounding you until you leave. I guess just looking is seen as potential theft.If you want to buy some name brand instruments, sorry everything there is only a Yamaha Brand or some other underground name brand.
