Pretty standard Home Depot experience. I’m and out with what I needed.

Kristen from the paint department was amazing!! She went above and beyond for our project. We are painting our unfinished basement ceiling to floor and she recommended paints, finishes, and amounts!Absolutely floored by her customer service and authentic personality. She gave product recommendations based on how we wanted the paint to perform, and showed us options for going bulk for extra value!

So yesterday was my first experience with the Home Depot price match. I have to be honest when stores talk about this often times there is some clause or loophole that always makes in the stores favor youre trying to price match with. Not the case with Home Depot. There was no need for a manager or a million hoops to jump through. I simply showed them how much it was on the app for the other store and for store pick up and the cashier matched it on the spot. Which is good because I like getting everything in one spot. I shop at Home Depot enough that my wife never lets me go alone for fear that our daughters college fund will be drained. So great customer service and definitely the type to keep their word. Thanks Home Depot.

Had a hard time getting the help I needed. But other than that alot of good essentials!

Ankeny Home Depot did a great job with online order and curbside pickup. I had a heavy order and was able to place the order, get notifications and pick up in under two hours. I didnt even park in the right spot and Jonathan came right out to the car and loaded it for me. He was very friendly and efficient!

Trying to find a replacement side window for my door. The specialist was very helpful and explained everything in fine detail on the options we have.

Bought carpet from Home Depot. Carpet was to be stretched. Two workers showed up to do the work and turned around and walked out of our home saying carpet is no good. We reported this to Home Depot where we have done quite abit of business. They reported to carpet company that made carpet only to find they did not do carpet anymore.They had a man come out to check on carpet and to come to some type of conclusion.Home Depot took 4 months or longer to come up with an answer about carpet. Worst place we have ever worked with. We lost our case because we were told that we cleaned our carpet to much . Not true it is just bad carpet and Home Depot told us by looking at pictures my husband took. We have spent a lot of money at Home Depot. But no longer. Horrible experience dealing with a Company where we really thought they would be on our side. Well they did not and like I said told us it was because carpet was cleaned to much. Thing is the carpet is and was no good. So now we will be going out to look for carpet and will no longer do business with them.

Very hot inside. Very little ceiling choices. I did like the variety of tree saplings available however.

Store is usually clean and most product is in stock. Garden center is always busy and usually staff are hard to find. Appliance purchasing and delivery is probably one of the better ones in Ankeny. The crafting that you can do on Saturdays with your children is fun. Not my 1st choice for hardware stores in town but also not my least fav. I would recommend.

Have to go with bad review here. New fridge has freezer door malfunction. They told me I have to bring it back to store within 48 hours of delivery even though I swear there was a 30 day return. Actually I just want the right hinge parts so the freezer closes correctly but they didnt seem to care. It was hour 47 when I was able to go in and ask for some help. Sorry Home Depot but some people work and cant just put a fridge in a bag and return so easily. Bogus policy that needs some adjustment.

Went mid day on a Tues. This was the perfect time to go. Traffic was decent around the shopping centers. While shopping I was pleased to see everyone still wearing masks as the store signs states you must have while shopping. I was pleased with the selection of items on had as well as the availability to get to them.

Every time I come hear I get large orders (30+ sheets of plywood, sheetrock, ext) Never do I get quick service. I always find my self having to stack it myself. Wear other locations are quicker to get the fork lift. And in the truck, fast. Not sure why this place runs slow.

Popped in to get a key duplicate. In, out, self check out. Whabam! Mission accomplished.

It has a very good selection of organic gardening products. I also bought a window AC unit for the bedroom, a couple of years ago, and its excellent.

My husband and I have gone twice in the last month to buy big items that needed to be lifted by multiple people. First, they couldnt find the grill we wanted to buy. They said it was there and couldnt find it. We stood around the register for an hour before they finally brought it to us. Same thing happened with another item about a week later. We stood around again and waited for the item. Then when we paid for it, there was nobody to help load it in the car. The item was 350 lbs. Horrible experience twice in a row. And it surprises me because Home Depot has always been great. Sad but true.

Ordered a storm door the first week of May, still waiting. We have called serval times, we keep getting the run around. We are told that the measurements have been done but Home Depot is waiting for an installation date. They say they will call us back, they never do. When we call to get answers the person is always busy or not there so we are told she will give us a call back. I’m not blaming the person I’m blaming Home Depot for not having enough help.

Dont order anything for delivery...1...takes 3 weeks for homedepot to call to say they have my order on while it sat in store for 1 week2... schedule a delivery have specific instructions to follow and they dont3... was told 8-10am delivery and now 4pm and still delivery isnt here4...delivery driver calls and says homedepot cant find my order now and that they will have to reschedule my delivery when scheduled install starts in a few daysMost definitely wont use home depot for anything again been waiting on home depot 3 weeks for my order and now cant find my order im not waiting anymore

Everyone was very helpful and knew where to find things we couldnt find. There was one young man who even gave us a suggestion of where to eat when we asked. His suggestion was a great one. You have great employees!

Store is neat and employees are pleasant. Well laid out and easily navigated floor plan in order to find just what youre after.

Had exactly what I needed. Self checkouts are amazing and easy to use. Too many customers not wearing masks unfortunately. I wish the store could enforce that.

Very dissapointing trip to HD today (3rd trip) offering 15% off of a whole kitchen cabinet order. trim pieces are broken AGAIN. we ordered in September and first cabinets, wrong color and broken trim, second order, damaged cabinets and broken trim, 3rd order cabinets ok but trim is broken. I will be able to salvage it and make it work but ONLY 15% that is ridiculous. Very unhappy with DH, lighter side I can FINALLY put the kitchen together.

Ordered a washer and dryer March 22. The man I had to sit down with to get them ordered got my information but still somehow mixed it up with another card holder’s information on my account. After getting the confirmation information sent to her for some reason we see the address for delivery he has listed isn’t even a real one. So I call and none of my information is even listed on the order and they have no idea how to change it so I get transferred for like 4 other people.. I finally get a guy with an attitude who took down all my information to change it, he never did. The other card holder got a call asking if it’s right, she confirms says she’ll change it and doesn’t. Then 4 days later other card holder got a call about it again and says she’ll change all the information. So here we are the day of delivery and they tried to deliver it to the wrong address that doesn’t exist and I’ve talked to 4 people that are unable to change it. Even though they had my phone number to send me delivery status and my address to send me new cards, they still somehow couldn’t find my information to update it. Now after the delivery guys called them to say it wasn’t a real address they somehow finally got it changed but now even though they’re in my town they can’t deliver it now and I have to wait until April 30th.I understand accidents happen.. but this was straight carelessness. Very irritating.

We made the mistake of going through Home Depot for our kitchen. The problems we have had areThe first person we talked to Alice quit and left us with a new employee who didn’t know what she was doing. We had to contact her manager to get anything done.Promised free appliance reinstallation on which Home Depot decided not to deliver until they messed up our sink. They say that the appliances are gonna be installed now but no one seems sure on who is hooking them up or what they are supposed to hook up.They told us several things to buy that were not needed according to their contractors. Returning the products was a horrible process Home Depot made as difficult as possibleI was told to buy a sink before the guy to measure the countertops came down. I went to the store and asked about under mounted sinks for the kitchen I was told that it wouldn’t be an issue by a very rude disinterested employee. Countertops got here and we were informed that the under mount sink wouldn’t work. They told us we could have the countertops remade or buy a new sink. It would have taken several months to get the countertops remade so we selected to just buy a new sink. They also said that they would install the appliances for free because of their mistake, which was something that we were promised from the start but they had went back on.The contractors we have been working with have been the biggest issue. We have had to work with 7 different people that were supposed to be coordinating the contractors due to them quitting. Everyone a contractor does come down they seem confused on what they are supposed to be doing due to a lack of communication.

We ordered a refrigerator several weeks ago. They said April 2 it will be there. We called during the week and it was on schedule. Today we called again and one man lied and said they called yesterday and we didn’t answer phone. Called Again and they said “ no that wasn’t it at all”. We sold our refrigerator and we have Easter company from several states, a relief to see family again. No they just got our item in but they are delivering other places and won’t come 35 minutes to deliver. So we are beside ourselves now and have to use coolers for all our Easter and beyond. We have other items that are ordered but will be canceling those. Isn’t there any company that cares about their customers. ??

A lot of things for everyone. If they don’t have it you may not need it.

The Associates and I were unable to find the item that I was looking for. Despite the item being shown as available in the store. The same scenario played out in the Urbandale store as well. But thanks for trying.

100% the worst service possible. They do not honor delivery dates. When you reach out you end up speaking to 3rd party vendors. When you do talk with local management they basically tell you that it is what it is and offer no assistance. I had an issue with carpet install a few years ago that took months to resolve. I gave them another chance when buying appliances and they did not honor their delivery date then told me they cannot reschedule due to the vendor. Still have no idea if my dishwasher will show up. No concern from the store manager. Dont your time or money.

Impossible to deal with. They screwed up our order on a washer and dryer. Spent 2 hours on the phone trying to fix it so I could spend 1500 bucks at their store. 100% not in the business of making money apparently

The website said they had my item in stock. When I get there the bag is 1/4 size of what was listed. When I asked a sales associate. They were useless. They said I was looking at the wrong thing. When I tried to show them. They said its must be wrong on the website. So i just left.

Run from this store and company. Do not get any services or installation from this place. You will regret it and it will cause you undo stress. Take your hard earned money and give it to another deserving business in town.Manny isn’t a good manager.Dolly definitely needs to be fired. I would check all invoices from her because if John the manger didn’t speak up no one would have caught her trying to over charge me by 600 dollars. Recheck any Home Depot services invoices because you could be over charged too.

Pretty good selection of dishwashers and some were available within a week

My order was filled, for a pick up, in a timely manner, and I picked up some more things inside the store.

Came here to get a new blade for my table saw and a GFCI outlet and found exactly what I was looking for. I have been to this store many times and will be back many more.

Very disappointed on this day, I tried a couple of times to have an employee help me find a couple of things and they told me that I have to order it on Home Depot website as I walked around while waiting for my wife I came across the items ???? New employees ??I honestly think that things are not going to come back way things were before Covid,

Spent 45 minutes waiting to get help with my purchase, asked customer service twice to get someone to help. The worst part was as I was walking out there was 4 employees standing by the service desk.

I bought a refrigerator and washer dryer. I spent over $7000.00. This was done at the end of June. The pedestals to the washer and dryer were broke when delivered and Home Depot said I needed to call GE and GE said I need to call Home Depot. So now Home Depot sent to the escalations and still nothing resolved and I keep having to leave voice messages with no return calls.

Order something on line to pick up in store order track my order nobody send me email it’s said deliver in Ankeny June 24 wait for your email to pick up . No email June 25 track my order again deliver in Ankeny damage Home Depot person will call you nobody call me the next day when track my order again be there June 27 wait for the email to pick up your order nothing again call the store they cannot even find the damage one they gonna order it send my confirmation will what happen my card been charge for this bad experience .

Was looking for some marble tile that I was able to find online at the Ankeny Home Depot. The staff at the store helped me find the number I needed.

In store shopping is probably at least four stars. I like that the web-site tells you what isle to find the product in when you get there. I like the self-checkout option to mail yourself a receipt (handy when you need to look it up later). If you ask someone there, they usually help you out. They usually have the products I need, and at a competitive price.The reason its not five stars, is because its almost impossible to get through to anyone here on the phone. When I repeatedly tried to check on their rental tools online, over several days. It was nothing but buffering, after I selected the tool, so I had to call them to find out about rental prices and availability.--Tried to call them on the phone. An automated system connected me to tool rentals. The phone rang for 5 minutes and 45 seconds, but no one picked up. --Tried to call customer service. The phone rang for 3 minutes and 25 seconds, then someone picked up the phone and tried to dial a number, then abruptly hung up as I tried to talk.

Went in to try and buy new sliding patio doors. After finding someone who could help us the service was great. Answered our questions. Picked out one we liked. I figured since they sell these they would have a contractor who installs them. They did not. They had no contractors who were able to install the door for us. They said they were busy doing windows right now and none of them would do a door. I thought that was a little weird. Couldn’t really give us an answer as to when they would have someone that could install.Went over to Lowe’s to look. Found one we liked. Got it ordered up and got a contractor out the next 2 days to measure and get everything set up.I usually go to Home Depot for everything, but this was just an unusual experience. I cant imagine why you would sell a product and not have the capability to install as well. What’s the point.

Got a Home Depot credit card for a discount on three chairs. Returned 2 and tried to pay in store for third. After receiving a text confirmation I thought we were done. No statement in mail and no withdrawal from my bank. Two months later I get an email statement charging me interest an late fee. Tried again to pay with a debit card they couldnt process it. Took months to settle and they still havent sent the credit Im do. Dont get a Home Depot card. The processing center for Citi Bank in Louisville has a poor reputation on Google and it is well deserved. Does not reflect on Home Depot or their products.

Ordered a new dryer from Home Depot in Ankeny on Sept 28. Delivery was set for Oct 9. Long time without a dryer but whatever. Online to see if they had an estimate on delivery time and shows delivery has been changed to Oct 31. Called the store and girl says. Yeah that been happening lately. No sorry, no phone call, nothing! I’m furious! What kind of service is this????????

They seem to have what I need most of the time. Good tool selection. They have a better return policy than the competition. They require mask but also supply it for you if you forget yours.

Was interested in a patio set that had CLEARLY been used and returned, complete with stains, dog hair, and dirt /food crumbs. The Associate said her manager said $50 off of $1000. So I politely asked to have a manager come look at it with me. I am told it will be at least 10 minutes or more😡 GREAT customer service. (Insert sarcasm)

Bought what was labeled paracord. Got home and open the shrink wrap and I dont know what it is but its not paracord. Almost feels like paper. If paracord is what you want, find someplace else

Only time we use home depot as a last resort. Its always like a ghost town, and when you finally find what youre looking for they expect you to check out by yourself. Not happy with having to do that.

Decent quality lumber, poor selection. Fair selection of tools. Staff are helpful with locating products when not busy. The most helpful and knowledgeable employees, by far, are at the pro desk. Lots of pressure to sign up for a Home Depot credit card at checkout. I utilize the Home Depot Revolving Line of Credit. Ive never had any problems with credit account and would recommend it. The pro parking in front is fantastic!

Needed some things for remodeling the kitchen. Home depot had a ton of flooring options. From laminate to hard wood to tile to the new generation of vinyl flooring. They will install it if you need that done. A gentleman named Manny helped me navigate through the pros and cons of each application. When you go to home depot you know you are going to have a large selection of what youre looking for but when you have someone like Manny help you in such a professional and knowledgeable manner it makes the experience one you will remember and appreciate.

They have mostly everything that you need and if they dont have it theyll help you out by ordering it to the store for you. I mostly go there for automotive needs and have yet to be disappointed. All of the workers are willing to help you out with your questions or problems. Overall a great place to shop for anything you need to fix up your home or vehicles and much more.

The employees are very helpful. They have a military discount so I dont have to fiddle with a rebate. But they are more expensive than some.

Love the first Saturday childrens projects. Really like the ones that are just stickers. Today they had wet wipes near the paint so we could wipe off easier. Great idea!

Clean and stocked store. Do not use curbside pickup because you cant get anyone to answer the phone. Better off ordering it and going in to pick it up.

Curbside pick up was quick and efficient. However, Home Depot employee had nothing to say. Literally, nothing. Put the order in the truck and walked away. Didnt confirm who I was, didnt greet me, didnt say thank you, didnt say come back. And didnt respond when I said thank you as he walked away.

Home depot is probably the least annoying home improvement store, and they have decent tools, but thats about it.

I appreciate the way Jake and Dave helped get down a new tool chest from the top rack. Delivered it to me suv and took the bottom wheels off to help it fit in my vehicle. They were both very courteous and helpful.

Ive spent a great deal of time as well as money at the Home Depot. This was my first experience chasing someone down that might help me find something. No Pros at the desk, its a weekend Im told. Well that adds up, when do most people need a pro? I went to 5 different people then finally left. Very disappointing.

The employees are power are hungry and rude. To yelled at me for going out the wrong door when there was like four people in the store and another employee told me to run back out and grab the giant tree I was exchanging. So I went and grabbed it just to walk up and the guy did it look at me and say youre good. So I did all that work because four employees dont know what they were doing or when its necessary to be rude. The in one door out the other is ridiculous.
