Love the customer service. Sarah from cafe X on the Ankeny DMACC campus helps out here and she teaches the employees here how to make drinks from her college coffee shop menu. The chocolate covered espresso bean smoothie is a perfect example.

Love this little cafe. The staff is friendly & the shop is so comfy & clean inside. Always fresh baked goods, too. Great location & the drive thru is a great convenience, if youre not feeling like mingling with people! I dont live locally, but when visiting, I always make sure to include this spot in my morning walk around the lake! Highly recommend.

I love the food and nice quiet environment that is created here. I go to dmacc across the street for school. I want to come here so I can study and have a drink. But you close at SIX. You used to close at 9 like Starbucks and most libraries. So because of this Cafe Diem has lost my business. Wont be coming back until hours are extended

They have vegan/vegetarian options for milk, also very professional and drinks were spot on and not messy at all like Starbucks has been lately. Also tastes better than Scooters who have been hit or miss lately. Seems that cafe diem has better baristas than Scooters.

I come to this shop to buy whole bean coffee to make at home. Ive tried several local roasters, and while they are all good, Cafe Diem is consistently the best. They roast to perfection, never over roasted! Most places roast their darks so much that you end up just tasting a burnt, bitter flavor, but at Cafe Diem they do it right! The price is very reasonable for 12oz bags, and considering how good it is I find it to be a bargain. If you enjoy a great cup of coffee, this is the place to go.

I dont know why its such a struggle to find a nice, affordable breakfast in the DSM area, but here we are... I decided to try Cafe Diems breakfast and it was a great decision. I ordered an omelet and could actually taste the ingredients, which is a big plus. Great quality for the price!

And I can tell you they are not overpriced, especially if you compare to Starbucks... This is the best place, for me, to have a coffee anywhere in the state of Iowa. I can have a coffee casually sitting on the couch, meet with friends or my groups in the meeting room or the long table, I can sit at the bar top with my cappuccino, or have a sit down at the booth or tabletops.I believe it’s female owned and operated, so plus one for female empowerment in business.Every one of the baristas I’ve ordered from and talked to have been super friendly.I love this place.

I love to support local because thats where you find the good stuff. Small menu but the do it right and bonus - THEY HAVE A DRIVE UP WINDOW! I enjoy a chia tea and a breakfast sandwich. My husband had a blended coffee drink and a different breakfast sandwich. Loved it all!!

Great service, only 4 stars cause of timing. No snacks for a diabetic and food is currently not served till later. No while milk or soy.

I had a great experience here! The baristas seemed happy to be doing their jobs and the place has a great environment for working or for conversation.

The food and service was not good at all. The coffee was very good. I wasnt given silverware and she never returned so I applied sour cream to my bfast burrito with my finger. When I approached the counter, eye contact was established but I was ignored so I had to use my fingers, no choice. Nice atmosphere and good coffee tho.

My first time and I bought a strawberry smoothie and it was oh so good!! Those are hard to find. Great place to study, have a small meeting and it has a meeting room too.

I’ve been getting coffee here for about year and a couple months ago they started serving breakfast. WOW!! There breakfast is absolutely amazing! The chai tea french toast is the best. All of the employees are always friendly! I love coming in!

Nice independent coffee shop. They have a conference room which you can reserve (book in advance) for meeting and is very popular. They have a drive thru too for drinks on the go.

Nice place. Fair prices. Coffee quality lacks a bit. They need a better process for connecting coffee order to customer who ordered it. Going table to table asking if anyone ordered the drink in their hand seems a bit archaic.

This place Was good. I’ve never seen a place with such a high turnover. Stop changing everything! This used to be a weekly meeting place, now this place sucks! Poor customer service, higher prices with smaller portions. Food quality has dropped, or maybe it’s lack of employees caring. None the less, You’ve lost a customer.

Always love coming here. Some great lattes, not so great chai. No one beats them at a London fog and now they have hot breakfast options?! Now more reasons to go, because who says no to pancakes and waffles? Dixie always remembers me and other staff have been a delight as well.

Love this place! Sometimes I will drop by for a large black coffee, after taking my pup to daycare in the morning...sometimes Ill go in the afternoon for a fancier coffee, when I have time to maybe read a book or meet up with friends.

I had a sandwich once and it was amazing, their breakfast also looks great (nutella pancakes!) but Ive never been here the hours they serve it. If they arent serving food they have scones. I wish they had more snack options. But overall I love coming to work here and would highly recommend.

I ordered a chai tea latte this morning and realized when I got to the window I didn’t have my wallet. The blonde barista / cashier at the window was so nice about it and paid for my drink. Chai latte with plant milk is delicious. Thumbs up for offering non-dairy milk, thumbs down for the upcharge on it (already high prices).

For me, this was a good place to go after a long day because the lighting is very dim and calming. My boyfriend lives 3 hours away from me and was getting ready to drive back home right after a long day with my family and I, so he needed some caffeine in his system and Cafe Diem was a perfect place for a goodbye date.

Love this place. I was dissapointed today when I got my hot chocolate. It was heavy on the milk taste with a very weak hint of chocolate. I do not recommend you buy the hot chocolate at Cafe Diem.

Friendly service. I requested the house coffee blend with half decaf. They explained cold brew is better because the house blend on ice would be watered down. When I insisted that I didnt mind, they didnt hesitate or seem bothered by my preference for watered down coffee :) I hear the food is good, especially Belgian waffles? Havent had a chance to eat here yet though.

This place is ok. My girlfriend loves the rewards program. As for most coffee shops, I feel that they are over priced. The smoothies are good. Kitchen closes at 7pm :(, they dont have very many hot food choices.

Cafe Diem is an ideal coffee shop for those who want to meet, get work done, or just hang out somewhere. Even when busy its never too loud, and the service is always excellent. Ive been going there for years.
