I was due for my eye exam so went online and made appointment. Checked my insurance provided and Target website which states that United Healthcare Insurance is accepted. However when I ARRIVED WAS INFORMED BY DR. THAYER THAT THEY DO NOT ACCEPT THIS CARD. When I pointed out the sign in the store that stated all insurance cards accepted she told me I dont know anything about that Well, she works there and should know about the sign, its her job. Left the store and called my insurance agent who informed me that my insurance card is indeed valid at Target Optical and that he would call them to confirm. However Im done with using this store if thats the attitude I receive.
Absolutely horrible experience. Got my eyes checked 4-weeks ago. I was told trial contacts would be in within 2-weeks. Here we are, 4-weeks later and I have not received the trial contacts and now are completely out of contacts. I’ve called multiple times and have been told “we will call you when they are in.” Never offering any other options or solutions is absolutely ridiculous. I will never be returning to Target Optical.
Dr. Kleve and the whole staff were amazing! They listened, they helped, they were friendly! Truly recommend this place!!!!
The staff is always so friendly and helpful. They have so many great frame options! My glasses have always been correct and fit perfectly (the previous place I went messed up the prescription AND measurements on them). LOVE Target Optical!!!
I would avoid this target optical! Horrible service and practically no response from staff. •I’ve had contacts sent to the wrong address. •Given the wrong script of contact to be told “just give it time” even after days of trying them out. •The doctor had no time for me as a patient and never responded personally to my worries. •“Follow up” phone calls from the staff that never happened. I even had new contacts trials waiting for me without being notified they were in the office, I had to call them back after a week of no response. •Updated contact information on several occasions, which never resulted in follow through responses from staff. •And on top of it scheduling issues... I was forgotten about and never placed in the system.Overall horrible and rude customer service and absolutely no follow through.**update**Don’t waste your time to reach out to target optical customer care that responds to these reviews. They just tell you there’s nothing they will do over the people utilizing this location working under their brand.
If you want to waste 6 hours on a Saturday to get your eyes checked, this is the place for you. I was horrified by the behavior or the staff. We were really lucky to get in early on a Saturday morning after having our appointments messed up two times (three people stoped by during our check in time with the same complaints). When we got there the staff were horrible to my daughter and I. They acted like we shouldn’t be there and they had better things to do. They said they had never heard of our insurance before so I asked them to call the Sioux City office for me and just ask them if they had heard of it because we had been going to there for several years. She just said that they don’t accept it. I called the Sioux City office and they were able to help us figure out the insurance sub name right away. She said it wouldn’t matter anyways because the use different doctors. I told her I check our insurance before we left the house and they were in-network. The doctor was amazing. When I finished up with the doctor I came out and expected that I would be able to try on glasses and talk about how much it would cost to order glasses and contacts. No one at the counter would talk to use for over 40 minutes until they took my daughter back for her visit. After she came out, they worked with her on how to put in contacts and remove them. They worked with her for an hour and a half. An hour of that was spent on teaching her how to remove the contacts she had in for the first time. She started crying and we asked them to the just have the doctor help her remove them. It turns out that the contacts she was trying on could only be removed by pulling them down and then pinching them. They spent an hour trying to get her to pinch the contact to remove it. The doctor told us they should have never recommended the removal style they did. We left and took her to lunch to calm her down. When we came back we waited another 40 minutes to be seen again. Several people in front of me were apologizing for the wait time (your customers should not be ashamed of your service). They told us they would have everything totaled up. They didn’t. As I was waiting for the staff to help me, I questioned the cost of things, and as she explained them they did not matched what I was being charged for. As I reached for the receipt she would take them away and put them into the envelope. Is I reached for the envelope she would pull it away from me and start doing something else. I finally just said give me my daughter scrip and charge me for whatever so we could get out of there and figure it out for ourselves. I was charged for several add on items I never agreed to. I bought insurance to try to protect my purchase that I may never receive.
I wanted to get my glasses during the Rayban sale and almost ordered online but came in to try on. I then was talked into buying at store and not online. That was a big mistake they TOTALLY screwed up my order. I said I needed progressives and brought in a newer script. They used an old script from 2018 they had on file not the 2019 one that I handed them to copy. They put down single vision after i said I needed progressives multiple times. Now i look at the paperwork and they ran my old insurance not the new policy which pays more. I knew from online what it would cost with the sale. I guess running the old insurance they got a higher price and tried to cheat me with single vision. I could see fine at distance but could not even read a price tag close with these lenses. Now I have totally useless glasses until I bring them yet another copy of my 2019 script then wait for the new lenses. I love the frames but may just cancel the whole deal because of their ridiculous ineptitude.
Ordered a pair of Ray-Bans through Target Optical online. Paid for two-day shipping and still took about 3 weeks to get to me. I have single vision and the lenses I have make my vision blurry; almost like I have progressive lenses. I went in on a Sunday to Target in Ankeny where two young girls were working. I explained my situation and they dismissed me. They said they absolutely could not help because it was an online purchase. They did not even check to see if the prescription in my lenses were correct. They couldnt be bothered. I was told to contact customer service online and go from there. If by chance they could not help me THEN come back into the store and they would help. Why not help the me then and there? I left the store and did what they suggested. Customer service chat said they are not able to do anything with replacement parts and that I would need to go to service after sales. I did that. Service after sales says if it is a prescription lens that you have to go to the retailer as they are not responsible for prescription lenses. All I want is for my lenses to be remade for I can see correctly. That is it. The two girls at the store that Sunday could have helped but did not want to and did not want to be bothered.
I used to like this place, but they closed down to remodel. Every since they reopened, the service has been bad. I have bought glasses here over the years, but I went there a few months ago to get my frames adjusted and was told they couldnt get to them for a hour and a half. I live 20 minutes away, so I thought I would find something to do until then. I went back to find out she didnt get to them, and it was almost closing time for them and anywhere else I could have went.So today my wife and I went to get glasses for both of us. The lady working was the only one there. I told here I wanted to see what my insurance would pay. She directed me to the frames, so I assumed she might be in the middle of something. My wife and I both found frames we wanted, but now she was busy with another customer. We waited a while, but we needed to get home, so we did just that. There used to be multiple staff working up front, it seems they cut it to just one person. Not sure if she is way overworked, or just dont know how to juggle responsibilities and provide customer service at the same time. Ill go somewhere else, maybe you should also.
Very good doctor but no customer service after. They didn’t tell us about the trial for contacts for my son. So they let me order three month supply. Then when they didn’t work they made us pay the contact fitting again. Then we got trials that didn’t work again and it’s been two weeks and they’re still not in. And they don’t answers there phones.
Jamie is absolutely amazing and overly accommodating. She takes time to get to know you, your needs, and your preferences. She even got me in to see a doctor right away when I was having an optical emergency. Give that woman a raise!Great selection of frames for a great price. Very friendly employees. Great job, Target Optical!
I like the optometrist that they had on staff; however I cant say anything good about the glasses shop. My son got a nice set of Ray Bans with polycarbonate lenses, and they have held up well. I got Ray Bans with the high end polycarbonate lenses ($300+ for the lenses alone), and I got cheap plastic lenses. The lenses scratch if you breath on them wrong. I brought them back, and the manager told me if I wanted it fixed I had to buy protection and pay a co-pay. They didnt even consider that the lenses werent right. So, for another $70 I may or may not get what I paid for originally.I havent had this problem with Walmart or the online retailers Ive used, and their lenses are a fraction of the price. Dont go here. They overcharge, and dont stand behind their products.
Nothing but positive things to say about this place. Jamie at the front desk was super nice and helpful and I found glasses that I love. Definitely recommend.
Not polite on the phone. The minute she found out that they were not going to make money on me right away, she tried to hang up on me instantly.
Amazing staff. The doctor actually took the time to explain everything and answer any questions. Very intellegiant woman! Never did I feel like they were trying to rush me out, which happens a lot. Great selection of glasses as well. :-)
Their one-year eyewear protection coverage is worth the extra money! Easy to work with and very helpful on the insurance claim. Thanks!!
Made a next-day appointment online--amazing! Dr. Korth was great; explained everything she was doing and why as she did my eye exam. Front desk staff were also awesome; Jamie was super nice and helpful picking out frames and ringing me up! Order came in faster than expected--less than a week for glasses and contacts! Thanks, ladies!!!
Customer service is lacking here. I was adamantly told my insurance wasn’t accepted here by an employee who made no effort to actually find out. She just sat behind the desk, too lazy to make a phone call, check my daughters file on the computer, greet us when we walked in (to any empty store), or offer any help whatsoever. I came back the next day after calling my insurance, who said that target is indeed a provider. Another employee that day called my insurance to verify everything and lo and behold my insurance was accepted. I came back the day after that to purchase glasses for my daughter and the incompetent employee was working again and still was reluctant to use my insurance. I’m giving one star instead of zero based on the second employee who actually did her job.
Doctor and staff nice. Turnaround time for orders is slow. 2nd time using them. First time contacts were slow to arrive. After a couple of weeks I called and was told I checked on them this morning and they should be here any day. Second time, glasses taking much longer than expected. Called and was told I checked on them this morning and they should be here any day Seems to be a canned answer. Wont return here in the future. Service after the sale speaks volumes.
Horrible service. Staff was admiment my insurance was not applicable despite always being able to use my insurance in the past. Then, once I did purchase contacts, not only did they over charge for the boxes I bought; the day after my purchase they DOUBLE charged my account. When I called to discuss the matter I was put on hold and the line was not picked up again.
Above and beyond! Jamie is awesome.
Went in with prescription the representative was on a personal call. Never acknowledged we were there.
