We went to Vision 4 Less to get new glasses for our Kindergartner. I think my wife has been there before, but this was my first time.The service was very courteous. They have a wide selection of frames especially for kids, so we were able to quickly find exactly what we wanted. WIth our vision insurance, the price was very reasonable. Her glasses were ready in less than an hour and she was very excited to show her teacher her new glasses today. I highly recommend Vision 4 Less.

He is superb at the knowledge of insurance plans frames lenses I have glasses all of my life age 61. Never have I had such an experience to get glasses. I went in to see if they took my insurance and forgot I didnt have my card on me. They were nice enough to look it up as well as work with me by letting me email the picture I took of my eye glass prescription rather than demanding the original paper. Then when we picked out my glasses and got the paperwork filled out it only took fifteen minutes rather then an hour! If I had known it was gonna be that short of a time I wouldve just waited there rather then drive to the other side of town to kill time! Lol they were nice and amazing quick service!

I love Vision 4 Less. I was helped right away by the workers to find a specific frame I wanted. Brandon was amazing in helping me! I got 2 pairs and they only took 13 minutes to make. That still seems unbelievable!

I walked into the store after not going for 2 years and the store was lovely! Remodel and was more spacious with a ton of choices! I was greeted and prepping my prescription within minutes of being there! I left the store around 5 pm and they were ready in less time than I was quoted. I couldn’t be happier with the level of service I received!

Eye exam wasnt too expensive I think I paid $83 without insurance two glasses for $74.

We bought new lenses in December for our frames so we could have our new prescription filled. We told the person we wanted the same options we had on our old lenses. When we finally got them we went south for the winter, so we have not been back to let them know that both mine and my husbands lenses are full of scratches. We didnt have any scratches on our old lens, but our 4 month old lenses have scratches throughout the entire lenses. I am really questioning if the scratch proof coating was ordered and put on. The person who was doing our lenses, was very distracted and didnt seem sure about what she was doing. She even forgot to charge for one pair and we had to come back . I just hope they will do the right thing and fix them.

Mary and her staff are the best at what they do! I have been wearing glasses for 50 years, and when I get glasses from these people I can wear them from the minute I put them on! I wont go anywhere else! I always look forward to Mary and her staff treating my like I am the only customer they have!

Great place to go! I was having issues with seeing spots in my vision, but the optometrist was reassuring in the exam and told me this is normal in some people. The only disappointment I had is they couldnt get my glasses done, so they had to send it out to get done. Which could take a couple of weeks.Thanks again to the optometrist to make me feel better!

Honestly the staff were really helpful and knowledgeable about optical ware. I usually spend more than a $1000 dollars on a normal pair of glasses before insurance, but here I spent $310 for two pairs of glasses. One a normal pair and the other being a pair of prescription sunglasses. I love them both so much. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to see better than ever.

Worst customer experience ever.

I have worn hard lenses for 45 years - this was my first pair of glasses. I had my questions answered and how the protection plan could benefit me. I am facing cataract surgery soon so the protection plan would help me through this process. They are a 5-star company and the people there make it so!

The receptionist were not friendly the optometrist was nice and did a good job. The glasses department was terrible, super slow and unfriendly. They sell you used frames. The manager is combative and insulting to customers. After being there for over 2 hours the first time and putting in my 1st google review, I came back to pick up my bifocals. While we were waiting because they were standing around the manager yelled at another customer saying she couldn’t cut in line, after the customer had been patiently waiting for 20 minutes, and was just asking if she was ever going to be helped. The manager assaulted me verbally in front of my child saying she saw my review and said the glasses they sell aren’t used. I said well you sold me glasses off the display that everyone has tried on, not a new pair. She kept yelling they are new. She also put my glasses prescription in lopsided where the focus point was is way higher on the left eye than the right. She said I could get used to them. Then she has someone else try adjusting the frames and keep running the glasses to the back like they could fix them. It was obvious she put them in wrong. She started yelling at me when I asked for a refund. Go anywhere else but here. Have video of the manager going insane because she didn’t like me saying she did something wrong.

If zero stars were available thats what I would give. This review is for the Ankeny, Iowa store only. It took almost two full hours just to get someone to wait on me...there was a gentleman that was stocking glass frames. He didnt offer to come help. About a half hour into me wandering around waiting for someone to assist me, another gentleman came in and the guy stocking glass frames got up to help him. Finally a lady came and asked to help me. She measured for my lenses but apparently did not do it correctly. Mary, who I am assuming is the manager, came over and in front of me, loudly told her she was doing it wrong and she had been there long enough to know how to do it. The person working with me made an error and charged me the full price instead of taking off what my insurance was supposed to pay. So she credited my card back. While I was waiting for the correction to occur, two other woman who had been there since before I was, had just been told that their lab would was not working and their glasses were not going to be ready until tomorrow. They were upset and explained that one of the ladies had to leave town in the morning and wondered why they werent told about the lab at the beginning of the transaction. Again, Mary said she cant help it if her help doesnt come in. The ladies were upset because they could have not wasted all the time they had if they had known they wouldnt get the glasses that day. As they were walking away from the counter Mary said she hated people like that who felt entitled, like they should get whatever they want whenever they want it. She said that WHILE THEY WERE STILL IN THE STORE. I was told that my glasses would be ready at 2:45 the next day. That evening I received a phone call from Mary saying there was an error on my receipt that it should not have been charged back. I explained the insurance situation. She argued that the register was off and it had to be that transaction. I told her the correction back on to my card was correct. She was beginning to sound irate. She told me thats fine, they have an account and she will just charge it off. I said okay. Thank you for calling. BEFORE she hung up the phone she was badmouthing me also. At 3:30 the next day I went in to get my glasses. They were not ready because the lab was not working that day either. I asked why I hadnt received a phone call. The employee said it was supposed to be automated but apparently it didnt happen. By that point I had had it with that store. I called the Vision 4 Less on Merle Hay Road and a man named Dave answered the phone. I explained the situation to him starting with the previous day and how Mary had treated the customers. He said he would call the store and get all my information and he would have the glasses made at the Merle Hay Store. I said I would start down there at that time because it was rush hour and it would probably take me an hour to get there. While I was driving down there, my phone pinged and it said my glasses were ready...17 minutes. Thats all it took for him to have my glasses made. I will only go to that store from this point on. Dave at the Merle Hay store...you are a rock star. The company needs to work with Mary on some training if she is in fact the manager. She has poor interpersonal communication skills with both the staff and the customers. I cant imagine I am the only customer that will not return to that store because of her.

The manager there is very humble. I will be going there from now on. I will refer others to go here☺️

This is the first time I’ve been to Vision4Less the optician was excellent and vision center was great I was able to get my glasses and 39 minutes and I was told two hours wow that’s great Service.I am planning to go back there again when I need glasses and so is my wife.

My husband and I went here last week, both needing new glasses. Our insurance covered our exam, also my husbands lenses and frames. I was disappointed that I had to have bifocals for the first time, but I am very pleased with the service we received. As usual, the in store optometrists, as well as the staff at Vision4Less were extremely helpful, and had all 3 pairs of glasses done in less than an hour!

I have gotten two pairs of glasses here. The customer service is always amazing, it never feels like a burden to be there. The manager is always friendly and willing to make anything right as well. Not only that but the process of installing the lenses are crazy quick. Averages about 15 minutes right there in the store!!! Definitely my go to. :)

I purchased my glasses at your Ankeny, IA store earlier this year, and had to bring them back 4 times because the prescription was not right. Then I have been back 4 times to you to get the lenses put back in as they popped out. I also had to go to Lenscrafters while you were closed to to COVID to have the lenses put back in. 2 days ago I came in for the same problem, the lens popped out again, so I had another pair made which are full frames, no fish line holding them in. The glasses are faulty and the lens is dislodged in these; I noticed this when I was cleaning them. I called the store about 6:45 and told the employee my name and that I would be bringing them back tomorrow, to have the glasses replaced AGAIN and I would also like a refund for the total amount. I live 30 miles away and have spent many hours this year running back and forth to this store to get my glasses right. The employee on the other line said I was yelling at her, and I asked her if she would like my phone number to look this up. I assured her I was not yelling, I was speaking firmly, so she got quite an attitude with me and said she would relay the information to her manager, who is the only one that could help me. Im sure she will not remember my name. Please make sure the manager of this store is aware of this malfunction of customer service.

I loved the whole experience! My eye exam was professional and thorough and I knew by the end of the exam that I was going to see much better. I was fitted for my frames and was told my glasses would be back in 7 to 14 days. However, they were done and at my door in less than 7 days. I have gotten my glasses there several times now and have always been very happy with the experience.

Great Staff, they go above and beyond to help with picking frames and making sure you get your frames same day, Ive always had my frames within 30 minutes although it may take up to an he. Staff is great with working with insurance and getting you the best deals!! Love this place!

I am allowed a certain amount for glasses each year with my insurance. For an in-person establishment I believe my money went the farthest here. I had walked in to a store elsewhere and they said the cheapest glasses were going to run $275. My only issue was that I would have liked to have prices explained a bit more, especially the 2 for X amount of dollars. I was told lenses run about $50 so I picked accordingly. For the price you can get a basic set of glasses for under $100.

Was referred to this place for my sons glasses because they took my insurance. The process was super easy. Got them in 2 hours and love the free pair. Only downfall is the optometrist did not accept my insurance so I couldnt get my eyes checked.

We took a prescription to Vision4Less and they helped us maximize our eye insurance benefits and we got 2 pair for $125 for one of our sons. Buying a prescription glass at Vision 4 Less was a great experience for me when I took my elderly father to the store for a proper check-up. The doctor was quite considerate and checked my father properly. As per his advice, I got two pairs of prescription glasses made for my father from the store and am quite satisfied with my decision.

I order 2 pairs of glasses one safety glasses the other everyday glasses the everyday glasses were bifocals the first pair came out with the bifocal was on top of the glasses instead of the bottom the second pair was in the middle the third pair was in my line of site and the fourth pair was the same I would highly recommend not going to this place so I finally told them I want my money back I used my debit card and there money came out instantly now I have to wait 7 to 10 days for my money

Super busy when I went in and didn’t get q served for about 45 minutes but that was little fault to vision4less as I could clearly see they were doing everything they’d could once I got served it was fast and painless I picked up my glasses within the hour.

Glasses are what I expected. However I was told they would not be ready till 7 which was 2 hours so decided to go home and wait. Got a text 28 minutes later and said they were done. I would have stayed in Ankeny and waited instead of wasting the gas. They need to do a better job of giving estimated times and the 2 men there at 7 are not very professional

I was in for an exam and picked out 2 pairs of glasses with progressive lens. I had extras added so it was more then the advertised 78.00 But it was still 100 less then just one pair usually costs. I was quite happy with the choices. They said 2 hours and the stored in less then 2 hours so I thought Id have to wait but they texted me in 30 mins. I have never got glasses in less then a week. They were done right and so far Im very happy with them

Although the price was $300 more than the last time I needed glasses, the staff was very helpful. The total was $900+. It took a couple of weeks to get my glasses, since they had to be sent in.

Heading back again - second re-make of glasses due to not what prescription specified. One more chance to get it right before I demand full refund.

Awful awful awful. I stood up at the counter for almost 15 minutes and not as much as a helloor how are you or well be with you in a moment nothing. Finally I say hi can you see me here. I started to get help from one of the 3 peopke behind the counter and the guy tried to fix my glasses but couldnt so instead of telling me he neeedd to have the guy in back do it he just takes them. I was left standing its 512 now and I know nothing. This is nuts. Totally worth paying the diffrence to have gorten them somewhere else.

I stopped in yesterday to order new glasses. A gal helping another customer said someone would be with me in a moment. Shortly after I saw another employee who looked to be cleaning out cabinets. I assumed he was not someone who could help a customer until several minutes later another customer walked in and the second employee greeted him and began assisting him. I was surprised but still wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt so I just waited. After that customer left this second employee once again ignored me and went back to cleaning out cupboards. Still trying to not assume the worse I noticed a third employee come out from the back and was standing over the shoulder of employee number one while she was at the cash register. After 30 minutes of waiting with not one person acknowledging me other than when I first walked in I decided that Vision4Less in Ankeny does not deserve my business. I did NOT approach any of the employees before leaving because I am on crutches and I was the ONLY person waiting for help. Customer Service is a VERY easy way to build or damage a businesses reputation. I will not be going back to this store especially when there are lots of competitors out there who want my business.

Weve been here a hand full of times and have had absolutely no issues at all. My husbands glasses were snapped in two and we were part our warranty but they were able to take his lenses out and put them in another frame for no extra charge on top of the frame cost. Awesome imo because he cant see to do hardly anything without glasses. Plus it took them only 5 minutes.Yesterday it took only 9 minutes for his new glasses to be ready. Last year forour daughter only 17 minutes and they were busy!The optometrist is always friendly and fairy quick, too. The cost is affordable without insurance.

I ordered 2 pair of glasses, 1 Trifocal and 1 Bifocal (Computer) with glasses that were an almost exact match in lens size. I had my old glasses along with new prescriptions with me so that they could see what I wanted/needed for lenses. Clerk still measured and marked lenses and wouldnt even look at the current ones I kept trying to show him. After 5 days the Trifocals arrived, but were actually bifocals with the lens cut to the height of the trifocal top. It was the top and bottom strengths with no middle. The clerk told me they had not ordered trifocals and that I would need to pay an additional $40 to get the new lenses ordered. Sure, Ill cover for your obvious mistake. Yesterday the bifocals arrived and while the lens strengths were correct the bifocal was cut to the height of the top of a trifocal. I told the clerk and he spread the nose pieces so that the glasses would just fall down further on my nose. Really? He readjusted them when I complained they were too loose. I took them to try and see if they might work, but they wont unless I point my head down. Ill be returning this afternoon to have these reordered as well. Hopefully the reordered glasses are all correct so I can actually get the glasses I need. Wont be shopping this store again.

Great selection, fast service, clean store, they submit your insurance claim for you saving you time and effort. Only negative, I would say it felt just a little rushed. At the Des Moines store they add up your costs while you are still seated and have you confirm before going to ring you up. Here they went right to the register which felt a little pressured.

The eye doctor was the best ever!!! Her staff was excellent also. I will be back when time to get another exam. I live 45 minutes away from the store. I had a friend come with because of my eyes being dialated. They told me it would be 2 hours to get glasses done. So i took my friend home as he needed to be home for his grandmother. Well 26 minutes i received a text message saying my glasses are done. I dropped my friend off at home and drove back to the store. When i got back to the store they acted like it was funny and said they were just covering there asses in case they broke lenses. I made it real clear how far i lived from their store. They could have told me if everything goes right will be done one half hour and i would have waited. I dont find any humor in having to drive an extra 90 minutes at todays gas prices. Vey unprofessional in the staff making a joke. I will get the exam done there and get glasses elsewhere.
