Went there tonight with my boyfriend he was confused on what we were there for an accidentally asked about video games and there was about 5 people who started attacking him by yelling and then the owner of the store was extremely rude…. He proceeded to explain in detail about how if we were smart enough to look online it would have told us no video games…. They were cussing and yelling in the back probably because they were having some get together but honestly it was a terrible experience and they just made us feel extremely embarrassed and intimidated

I was amazed. I try to shop local as often as I can. My 8 year old son really wanted to get into Pokemon. I know nothing about it. At all. We were greeted by Alexander. We were given time and space to look around. He handed us off to Spencer. Spencer was very kind and informative. He never acted like he was frustrated with our lack of knowledge. In fact, it felt like he appreciated the curiosity and the opportunity to enlighten us. We had a great time. Thank you both for the help! We are looking forward to returning.

The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. I appreciated that they had items for all my D&D needs. Also a great selection of games and Magic cards.

Arkham Games is honestly one of the best game shops I have ever been in. Spencer does a great job interacting with everyone that comes in. Also is wling to teach anymore to play multiple games. The atmosphere is extremely relaxed and everyone in the is just looking for some good games in the game room.

Very welcoming environment. The owner is friendly and attentive. There is a decent variety of new tabletop games, as well as a used consignment section. Owner even offered to order in games that weren’t on the shelf. Accommodating to even the casual board gamer. Was not pressured by staff to buy something or hounded upon walking in. Very pleasant experience.

Cozy but a really fun shop. There’s always something going on even if I don’t know what game is happening. John the owner, Is very nice and seems to be knowledgeable about Many a thing when it comes to games whether it’s magic to gathering, dungeons and dragons, or board games he seems to have his finger on the pulse of gaming. I often times harass him with endless questions about painting techniques and small talk in general and he never seems to mind. I generally find what I need here and if not he is willing to try and track it down for me and have it ordered in. Support your local brick and mortar! I really like going to this place. Its really laid back, everyone is nice, and the Magic the Gathering tournaments are smaller and more casual. Definitely a good place for both new and experienced players.

Very nice people, had a pride flag which is always a plus, had some free mtg and pokemon cards to help people get started. Very nice small game store with some tables to play at. If you are into Pokemon tcg or Mtg i highly suggest going

Cool little store! They had exactly what we were looking for (5e players handbook). A little bit spending then buy stuff online but worth it to support your local B&M. They also have a clean area to hang out and play games with friends.

A smaller shop, with a great selection. The service is amazing, they will try to answer any question you have. They also do game nights throughout the week.

In or around Ankeny? Do you like Magic the Gathering? Warhammer? Pokemon? Go down to Arkham Games and check them out. DO NOT BE FOOLED! From the outside it looks like a dinky little store with little to offer. Open the door and walk in to find looks can be deceiving. The owner, John, is a very nice, knowledgeable man that truly seems to care about the games he sells and his customers that purchase them. Cant find what you are looking for? Ask, I witnessed him looking up several items for another young man while I looked through the boxes of singles. I was having a hard time finding some Dragons to add to my deck and John jumped right in to help. I will definitely make this my first stop for all my MTG needs in the future!

Super nice people. The game store owner got up from his game to talk to us. But game selection is really small. With how fast our hobby is growing they need to improve selection.

Dungeons and Dragons every Wednesday @ 6 p.m. Open MTG every Friday. John, the owner, is superb and will help any gamer find the right tools for the game. A welcome and fantastic addition to the Ankeny gaming community.

This is the best hobby store in all of Iowa. Friendly and knowledgeable owner and a fantastic crowd to play games with. Magic, Dungeons & Dragons, Warhammer, board games, all things that can be found here. 10/10.

Very nice small game store. Being in a small location the store does a great job catering to everyone. 1/3rd magic, 1/3rd board games, and 1/3rd open area to play board, card, or miniature games.
