Camera stores are getting to be like unicorns. So go check this out. Great selection. Helpful staff. Great selection of lighting gear and gear cases. They have some quirky items that make it fun to browse. Buy something and keep camera stores alive.
Stopped in here just before closing Thursday afternoon. I wish they were open later to give me more time to explore but I did find a used Pentax lens in great condition for a very good price! It went home with me as I’m a Pentaxian. The staff were very friendly and super helpful. I finished my shopping by 5 so I didn’t hold them up from closing. I will explore again when I’m in the Arlington area.TLDR: friendly staff, sells new and used, closes at 5 on weekdays.
I didnt like the way they treated me. They asked my ID for the sale even after my credit card was approved. I didnt see they are asking the same for other customers. I thought I give business to locals during his covid season instead of buying it from internet or big box stores and found Amazon treats me better than these guys. I will not be going there again.
Arlington camera is the only camera store in Arlington Texas now you would think that because they have the monopoly that they would have high prices but they dont they have a very very knowledgeable team of representatives and says people they will buy used equipment antique all the way up to Doing the photos they have lots of information that is there for the taking free youve got all that knowledge of all the staff that are professional photographers that they share with you without a question ask this is a plus they have long since been in Arlington they are some my wheelchair accessible you just have to and I am a big guy in a big wheel chair I could go in through the front door with no problem Ive got it to where once I am inside I have a limited areas I can go but more than half of the store and the other areas they are more than willing willing to bring product out to show you you know and explain what they have back in that area unfortunately they dont have a public restroom And parking you have lots of now with a wheelchair you have to go about 50 yd to the East or the West to be able to get up on the sidewalk to get in to the store which is a shame that they dont have the cut out directly in front of their store but other than that highly recommended must C
Always the best customer service here. They spent at least 30-45 minutes helping me find and decide on what i needed. My favorite camera store.
I love coming to this small business camera shop. Every employee is top-notch, kind, knowledgeable about products, & very helpful. They have just about anything you need to make your pictures high-quality!
They are the BEST! I needed a lens in a pinch due to covid and a rescheduled shoot.. they totally came through for me! They are family owned and operated and wonderful to work with. Why give your money to big chain companies when you can support local? They are always there if you need support! I wont go any where else!
I hate buying from big name stores like Best Buy, Amazon, etc. I always prefer to buy from your smaller neighborhood store. The downfall of that is you might run into a small owned business that has poor customer service like I witnessed and experienced today. Before I get into what happened with me, there was an older gentleman (customer) being tended to by an older lady. The lady was rude and disrespectful towards the man when he was asking legitimate questions most people would probably ask. Now the man that helped me....the conversation lasted literally 1 minute. No exaggeration. I wanted a lens. First off he approached me very aggressively and rudely. Secondly it took him 30 seconds to look for the lens I wanted to tell me they didnt have it. Then that was the end of that conversation. I have money. Had he attempted to sell me a different lens, I wouldve bought it. Just for helping me out. But nope. Hardly looked, no attempt to help me out by selling me another lens, no up-sell, no nothing but attitude and brush offs. Wont be going there again unless by some miracle they attempt to redeem themselves. But hey....I found it on Amazon for a few bucks cheaper anyway. And then businesses wonder why Amazon is doing so well. Sucks but I needed a lens before my business trip. So big name wins again!
Our photos they printed look great.
Terrible customer service and most of the items are OVERPRICED! Amazon has alot better options.
Ive been a customer here for years and everytime Ive been has been awesome. Knowledgeable and kind staff and great prices. Love that they have a nice little film development/printing corner with everything youd ever need and a lot of 35mm and 120 film options as well. Awesome place for everyone into photography from students needing film supplies to pros with years experience.
I just had my first experience here and it a great one. We walked in and were immediately greeted. They were all very informative and answered a lot of questions that I havent been able to get answered at other places. After my interaction with the sales associate, I immediately felt confident in spending $2200 to purchase my Sony 24-70 lens. This will definitely be my number one stop for my future photography needs.
Horrible experience. Disrespectful and has to ask the owner for permission to sale me a tripod without me consenting to giving him my phone/ email/ address/ dob info. Prices are over marked by far more than other dfw camera stores. Ignored and skipped me twice to help the white guy who came after me. Would never come back here again.
I needed to have a 35mm single negative converted to digital copy in a hurry and they were so great! I was able to get it converted to disk in about 15 minutes while I waited in store. Cost wasnt bad either, 3 bucks for the conversion and 5 bucks for a disc. I think i could have saved the 5 bucks if I had brought in a USB drive but since this was my first time converting something I didnt know.
RENTING EQUIPMENT POLICY (What they dont tell you) -The first time I visited their website, I noticed you could rent a lens, so I decided to give them a visit a few months back to see what the shop was like and to inquire more about it and found it would be really useful to rent a lens to test it out before buying. I ended up having a shoot one day and go in a couple days early to rent one out. They asked for my drivers license and if I had a major credit card. I handed them my debit card to cover the day rental, but they dont accept anything that says debit or checking. Why? In order to rent out equipment, they take out a DEPOSIT for the equipment you are borrowing. You cant pay in cash either (unless you can buy the camera/lens then and there.) They give it back. However, at no point was this mentioned to me via person beforehand, and its not written anywhere on the website. I would say do your research first, but its something that you couldnt research. Hopefully this helps other photographers like me who are just starting out in photography. (I understand the reasoning behind it and it wouldve been better if this was written SOMEWHERE in fine print. But seriously, its counterproductive to business because most of the people who test out/rent lenses are the ones who cant afford them, so its moreso used for portfolio building to get a better paying photography job.)
Rude employee that works in the middle of the store doesn’t know how to say “excuse me” when getting into peoples way.
Friendly service, very helpful...I was most impressed!!!
This place is beyond awesome and reasonably priced. I always have a pleasant visit when I come. Today was by far the best customer service I have received. My 2yr old had just fallen asleep and I was coming to pick up a backdrop, called and politely asked if they could run it to my car parked in front. The verified my information and brought it out. It’s the little things that make companies great. I love this place. SHOP HERE!!
Very knowledgeable, approachable and honest staff. Competitively priced and extremely helpful. Able to explain anything to you, even if you dont know much about cameras or photography in general. I wish all locally owned establishments were like this one. I wasnt oversold anything, and I wasnt pressured into spending or buying anything I didnt need. Great, no pressure, sales environment. This was my first time shopping here and it wont be my last!
Had some last minute gear I needed to grab. Not from Arlington so I found it on the web. This place is amazing. Great prices. Not just hired sales person but people who actually have knowledge. Prices were great. Great selection .
Tons of photography equipment with a very knowledgeable and friendly staff. They also rent equipment which is a great way to get high quality work on a budget. I would highly recommend Arlington Camera to anyone!
Friendly, knowledgeable staff, and nice selection of products. Picked up a monopod today and the same one was on B&H for significantly more, which was a pleasant surprise. Plus it’s nice to try out the products before purchasing. I’ll be back again in the future!
First rate. Professional in every way. This is a little store with high volume, so its always busy. But if you have a question. Feel free to ask. They know their stuff. There is another camera shop in the market. Early on, I asked them a beginners question, and my question was promptly met with scorn and ridicule. That was the first and last time I shopped there. If photography is your career or a big part of your life, you will enjoy shopping at Arlingtom Camera. Great service and selection are what you can expect.
I usually order my gears online. But when I find out Arlington Camera has everything I really need, I like to come here often. Friendly environment and knowledgeable people. Also I want to support local businesses.
The staff was unfriendly and not interested in the classic camera and accessories I had to sell. I dont plan to go back. When a local business only has customer service as their advantage over the internet, they should be helpful.
Very helpful and knowledgeable. I planned on looking at some tripods and then leaving. He was so helpful I ended up buying nearly $500 Worth of stuff. Mind you it was because of a pushy salesperson it was because he helped me get what I need and shoes me exactly how to use every feature. . Ill definitely be back!
Gil was amazing. Helped fix an old 35mm camera spent an hour helping us out. Fort Worth Star Telegram called them the best Camera Store in Arlington. Was at Fort Worth Camera 2 weeks ago and would like to save you a trip anywhere else. This is the BEST camera store in all Tarrant County!!!
Good stuff
Awesome PlaceThey have a huge selection of cameras, lenses and Photography gear.A great place to check out new gear. They also do photo prints (any size) for quite a reasonable price.
I want here with my wife looking for a new telephoto lens. We met one of the best salesman of all time. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, not pushy and helped us make the right decision.
The staff at Arlington Camera go shopping to great lengths to help customers. Friendly, knowledgeable, and professional - if one doesnt have an answer, they find another staff member who does.
The VERY BEST camera store in DFW. Also one of the only ones left. Camera Stop over in Plano has apparently closed leaving Arlington Camera the remaining dedicated photography store. Ive been going to Arlington Camera for more than 25 years and they are some of the best you can find. They offer helpful advice, good pointers and solid products you can rely on for personal or business use. If you need your gear RIGHT NOW you cant beat them. Be sure to check out what they have prior to committing to any purchase from Best Buy or another major retailer. Get their advice since it will help you be confident the choice youve made is good.
Great Service! I called in just a few days before Christmas, so I know that they were slammed. I was getting the new Sony A9 for my wife. I had spent some time on their website but had a couple questions before I hit submit. The owner got on the phone and helped make sure that what I was ordering was what I actually needed. He then suggested an alternate charger that had better feedback when used in real world situation. He also took the time to find a couple rebates that I did not know about. I will be doing business with them again and again and again!
Customer service and stereotyping was an issue for someone I care about. You will never get my business either personal or professional. I hope that customer experience is not your norm but this review reflects what happened.
Employees always eager to help. Always have lots of stock. If they are out, get free ship to store. Very organized and xlean
Helpful staff always ready to answer any questions
Initial sale was a good experience which was expected since they are trying to win your business. But then after a few months they don’t respond to your emails any more. You can try it yourself. Ask for a copy of your receipt. Tell them it’s for the registration. See if you get anything. I bought my Sigma 17-35mm and Tamron 70-200mm from them. I have since bought 7 more high end lenses this time any where but from them. They lost my business which I was prepared to give to them, them being local and all. Sigh. I give this low review in hopes that they read it and improve their customer service. So you guys can benefit from it.
Have visited this store several times and they are awesome! They were the only place I could find in the area with mirrorless cameras from Panasonic & Olympus. I believe they are the only authorized retailer for Olympus in the area as well. Their return policy is pretty good (14 days) and when I did have to return something it was easy and trouble free. You only get an in-store credit when you return items, but there is plenty in the store to choose from. They have a large selection of camera bags, which was very helpful. They have used items as well, which is nice if you are looking to save some money. Most importantly, their prices are very competitive as they are usually very close to, if not the same as, other trusted online camera stores. I wish they were closer to me, because it is a great little store. The staff is very, very helpful and always pleasant to speak with. If you are in to photography, you should definitely give Arlington Camera a look as not only do they have great prices, and often instant rebates to lower the prices even more, but they have a great selection of cameras and accessories.
I drove from Dallas to pick up a lens last minute for NYE. The selection, service, and prices are great. Best rental price for the specific lens I needed too, so it was actually worth the 30 minute drive despite being the only shop open. I’ll probably be back very soon!
They really know their business. The camera specialist are great. I havent had a camera in a while. I told them what I wanted to do, and they listened! They were not patronizing. I came away with two cameras that I am very happy with.
The guys at Arlington camera are very knowledgeable, and are willing to help. Barry runs the photo printing, and is one of the most schooled people I have met in regards to the finer details of printing. The printing services are reasonable for most sizes and an excellent deal for 4x6. They use Fuji Crystal archive paper.
This issue was resolved very professionally. Thank you Bill for being a stand up guy.
Love this place!! All staff are so helpful and courteous. Have been getting reprints of vintage photos for my family and they are great quality and value!
A family owned camera store in Arlington, Texas with a great selection of professional camera equipment for sale and rental that its perfect for professional photographers. They have a very knowledgeable and friendly staff. I highly recommend this store!
Arlington Camera is the only camera store I do business with. Great products, outstanding service, amazing prices and friendly staff make Arlington Camera a great choice for both pros and hobbyist.
Ive been a faithful customer for over 30 years. I routinely see other professional photographers there as well. Staff is amazingly knowledgeable, and the owner is a huge supporter of the photo community. I drive past other store to shop at Arlington Camera. Shop local, buy local.
Tucked away a little bit backward into the shopping center, and not immediately visible from the street, Arlington Camera sells a fairly large selection of equipment at fair prices. When we arrived last, they were willing to provide us a deal for a mono-pod because the box had previously been open. Staff is friendly and although you may not find super specific gear, they are great for an ordinary selection.
Went to Arlington Camera today to look at a backdrop stand. I had searched on several sites online but I couldnt tell what I would be getting. It was great to walk into a real, functioning camera store again. One of the employees was helping a customer with cleaning her camera sensor and he was so knowledgeable I had to listen in. The employee that helped me (Jay) let me look around on my own before he asked if I needed help. I liked that. I dont like high-pressure salespeople. After he asked to help me, he got me exactly what I needed and answered all of my questions patiently. He even opened the box the stand was in so I could see what I was buying. It was a great experience and I wont hesitate to go back.
Had a great experience shopping at Arlington Camera.Worth the effort getting there. Peggy was superb at getting me exactly what I needed. Super helpful and knowledgeable.Looking forward to going back.
Perfect experience! Took my wife into buy a DSLR and the gentlemen Rick really helped us make an informed decision. Will continue to buy from this place. They also saved our honeymoon pictures. Had a card that was messed up and saved the photos for us and most importantly helped enhance our memories! We are very grateful for their customer service!
Friendly service. Staff was outstanding. Great prices.
In my opinion, this is the best pro camera shop in DFW, and quite frankly, the best camera shop I have visited anywhere. Highly trained, knowledgeable staff. They can answer any gear question you have. AC is also well stocked for anything you want to purchase or rent. Yes, they rent. If photography is your passion, then Arlington Camera is your friend.
This store has an amazing amount of equipment for the space available. The staff is very knowledgeable of all of the different brands and types of photographic equipment and accessories.
Great range of equipment, staff are generally knowledgeable and for a small shop the prices arent bad. Were lucky to have them local.
Just plain Awesome Sauce!! Ive been shooting professionally for 15 years and could not be more pleased at the level of support that Arlington Camera provides their pro customers. Its more like working with family!!
Wow, they have a great selection! This is a small family owned camera shop that has been around for 20+ years. They have a little display of historical cameras. They sell lots of old camera parts and new gadgets. They also do basic modern camera cleaning and repair. This is a good place. They sell lenses, filters, cameras, batteries, and all kinds of gizmos. I like shopping here soo much!
Honestly, do not know where these four star customers are coming from. But the guy in glasses I dealt with has always been short and rude. I disliked their service. It might be me but every time I have been in there its like they profile you and if you dont fit their profile they ignore you. No longer will I buy anything from there!
Knowledge and expertise are at the highest level. The combination of the technical and the family friendly service combine to make for a first class experience. Worth the travel to Arlington!
This a great place to look at and touch camera gear. All the staff is really knowledgeable and I have never had a bad experience going there. Penny and Gill are my two favorite reps to deal with. I have used them to research gear and I have bought some gear from them as well. In the end they are the only camera store in the DFW area I go to now. All the other shops I have tried dont even come close.
Quick, friendly staff. Knowledgeable staff. In my opinion, a store geared more toward the professional or the accomplished semi-pro rather than the serious hobbiest or the novice.
Yesterday I found myself in Arlington TX with a few minutes to spare in between driving during rush hour and a wedding consultation that seemed as if time stood still. As I noticed the hour before existing my office (Starbucks), I aggressively googled Arlington Camera which was only 2 miles away. I figured since I was in the area, I would leave my camera body to get cleaned. Unfortunately, the distance driving from Rowlett would make its pickup somewhat problematic. As the need to have the sensor cleaned becomes more evident during each photographic opportunity, these dusty particles (spots) are constantly finding there way on each image captured. This in itself has increased editing times by 300%. I entered Arlington Camera and explained that I needed a rigorous sensor cleaning. I then explained that I attempted to clean the sensor myself (several times) with items NOT prescribed by any safe method to clean digital camera sensors. I then explained that the drive returning to retrieve my camera body would be nonexistent if I understood how to properly clean my own camera body. Moments before paying the cleaning fee, I was directed to purchase an inexpensive self cleaning kits that cost under $25. I then was given a crash course about not contaminating the kit, cleaning the sensor, and the best angle for the rocket blower. With their assistance, I cleaned my cameras sensor several times with the same exact methods explained that they (AC) use. By learning to clean my cameras body, I saved $60, reduced 2 hours driving and gained invaluable knowledge of safer methods to clean digital camera sensors.Thank You Arlington Camera.-- Samuel Cobb
I travel the 25 miles to shop in Arlington for background paper, chemicals and various photo odds and ends. Arlington has a great staff. They are definitely more professional and personable than FW Camera. Ill be back soon for a couple light stands and maybe just to look.
Great place to buy and sell stuff.. Really knowledgeable.
This store is incredible. I always get personal service and the owners, Bill and Angela go above and beyond all the time!!
The sales people are very knowledgeable about cameras and lenses. Great place to shop for your camera needs!
Awesome friendly place to get all your photography relate needs
This was my second try in several years, I was trying to rent a lens, forgot my “ mayor credit card” and offered them to pay a deposit with my debit card, they told me I have to pay $2300 in front of a group of customers for a lens that cost by $600 used. They lost my business for ever.Very disappointing
Nice store. Friendly associates. If you dont mind paying retail, I highly recommend this camera store. Lots of goodies.
My daughter and I were impressed with the service.
Great store and great folks to work with. They have always been very helpful. I moved from the DFW area to Colorado and I still go to them first when I need new gear.
I really enjoy visiting with the employees, they are very knowledgeable
Nice people, friendly service, the old fashion way! And they can use negatives to develop pictures
Great place for all your Camera needs. Helpful staff. You can also buy online.
Two huge thumbprints on my glossy 8x10 right out of the unopened lab envelope. This was for a show but I cant sell it with fingerprints. Good packaging, sloppy lab procedure.
The personal service you get from the employees is priceless. I have ben a customer for many years and the same employees are still there, alway ready to help with your questions weather you buy from them or not. It is a good place to shop for any camera equipment/lay a way.
Great family owned and family operated business with knowledgeable staff. Theyre very generous with their time and expertise and always giving back to the community and photographers.
Cams mans
Do you want to wait 30 min as other people walk in and get helped before you? Do you want to pay 20% more than anywhere online or in the metro?! Then this place is for you!The only good thing they have going for them is they are further east than other competitors.
I had some pictures restored. High cost, but the work was inferior. The Black and White pictures turned out okay. This is the only reason I did not give them the lowest score. I really was expecting more.
Great place. Linsy was the best.
Purchased a lens here and was pleased with the service and great knowledge of all aspects of photography plan to return for mere great prices and service.
Says they buy camera items of all kinds and they do not.Wasted time going here..
Very disappointed with the customer service. I called early on in the week to check if I was able to get my sensor cleaned there by a professional, and was told that I could. Great! Was told I just have to call day of to make sure one of the two qualified employees would be there. No problem. Day of, I call. Im told that yes, one of the qualified personnel is there and will be there until they close, lunch break from 3-4. Awesome, I say Ill be in at 12. They say great. So I drive an entire hour to this place from there I live, only to get there and be told the employee left for the day. Was told I should have called. Excuse me? I did call. Was told Sorry the timelines didnt match up Hu??? I called, checked, and drove an hour out to have someone do something I was unable to do on my own, when I live a very busy life with full time uni and 2 jobs. They made it seem like it was my fault and not incompetence on their end. Ended up buying a kit and just doing it myself. Would have been way cheaper online, but I needed it done that day and Id already driven an hour for nothing. Yeah, wont be going back anytime soon and neither will my peers. Do not give these guys your business.
Service oriented. Im a beginner and they always take time to explain things to me.
Excellent, knowledgeable staff. Good selection, and competitive prices.
Very knowledgeable staff, friendly and helpful. They also have the best product selection just about anywhere in DFW. Prices are very competitive with amazon, B and H, and Adorama. Their rental gear is top notch too.
Very helpful in choosing my camera. Will return.
Been here twice and will never go back again. Both times, when I walked in, nobody offered help, asked how I was or even acknowledged me. There were a bunch of guys hanging around the counters but nobody gave a carp I was there. At least, not until I had to fend for myself and start opening boxes of tripods to figure out what everything was, seeing as how I had zero help. The only one who did help me was a nice woman who was the only good thing about the place. Pleasant and helpful. Whoever the other dudes are that work there, they were too busy chatting up area photographers and folks they already knew. I was glared at and ignored. A man came in they knew by name and he was greeted warmly even though I had been there for several minutes already. I ended up spending about $385 but youd never know it judging from how they treat new customers. Despite the fact that the woman who was helping me was so polite, she never told me they had used equipment. I only needed a 1.4/50mm lens that I couldve bought online for 1/4 of what I paid at this shop. She even told me not to buy used equipment. I didnt realize they sold used items until I came home and read the REST of the reviews. Thats what I call sheisty. If I didnt need this stuff for class, I wouldve returned it ALL already. This is why Ill only buy online from now on. Im beginning to think maybe photographers are bitter that their pseudo-art form is no longer some exclusive boys club with the advent of digital photography. Im not some snot nosed kid who thinks they are a photographer because I can take pics with my smartphone. They will never get another dime from me. So much for supporting local businesses. Hard to do that when they have no concept of customer service. Maybe this is why print photography is DEAD-- crabby, cantankerous, inflexible old fogies who arent receptive to change. Or newcomers.
OMG! I thought my camera was headed for its last shot and testament. But Betty rescued it from shutter despair, she is The Best! Only she knows but Mom gave me a kiss of forgiveness. My business is yours forever!!!!! Many XXXXXXXs and to you and yours have a great holiday season.
Friendly service, and staff.
Only known place that still develops 35mm film
I really try to support and purchase from local, family-owned establishments. I gave Arlington Camera a shot by purchasing accessories initially before making a large purchase. I was stunned by the off hand comments made toward me...and honestly should have left the store. I regret staying AND making a purchase. The $205.51 spent on 12/12/13 will be my last transaction and appearance there. There are MANY other establishments that are eager to respect the customer.
Ive had nothing but good experiences shopping here - whether looking for a pocket camera, a new lens, or a bag for my gear, the staff is always very helpful and takes the time answer all my questions or just chat for a bit. Its always worth the drive from Frisco.
Great selection of cameras, lenses and accessories. Very friendly and knowledgeable
Wonderful customer service. They opened a new Nikon to let me take a look, even after I told them I wasnt going to buy it, I just wanted to hold it in my hands.
I love this place the people are really cool! They are ready to help.
As all was, helpful and very nice people.
