This academy store is okay. The new academy that yall build its no good. No good customer service, cant find any employee to help you, you have employees just looking at you dont greet you. You have everything in stock. The new academy I would never go back over there again. The one by the mall I will go to. I understand they dont have everything in stock but they will have customer service. And you can find them if you need them.

Too much $$$ for too little.Staff wasnt knowledgeable. (Kids and not-too-smart adults)I think Youre better off ordering online if You already know what You want.Wasnt about service on the afternoon I went in there. Waste of time trying to talk to someone that knows less about a product than You do.

It has awhile since we were last here, but we were looking for some specific outdoor pants for a fishing trip. Didnt find them. Truthfully, it was difficult to find anything. Im not sure if theyre is a lack of help due to covid, out maybe they had a very busy day and no one has straightened anything up yet. Clothes were a real mess. Shoes were a mess. We did find shoes, thanks to a somewhat helpful young man. Im not sure he really wanted to be helpful but he did end up getting the box down from the high shelf.Its not the store I remembered, where I wanted to stop and browse through all the interesting stuff. It felt like a thrift store experience.

I am giving this Academy Sports and Outdoors five stars because I found ammo on a day when they were not supposed to have it. Metals (ammo) have been a rare commodity. And to be able to get 200 rounds of 9 mm ammo was such a treat!

Have done 3 pick up orders in the last 2 months and everytime I get here its takes them over 30 minutes to find my order. they cant find it, or its still somewhere in the back even after i get my email that its ready to pick up, they seriously need to fix this problem

It was a feast for the sences, the store was prime for the picking stocked to the nines. Staff were every were willing and able to help the store is one of the few here in Arlington,Texas that makes it were we, people in wheel 💺 have easy ability to go any were in the store with NO PROBLEM GETTING THERE.. I love it even the restrooms are easy in and easy out and that is saying a lot becuase I am 65 and 360pounds. I spend the average of 2-3hours when I go there they have always helped if I cant reach something this means a lot they always thank me for my service. Yes I was in the Navy for Life retired 100%disabled veterian personely I considered my self physically challenged. I still can do so much we adapt and over come and we ask for help in things I cant do. Any how I went in for ruff casual saddles that cover the toes and straps in the back an tim helped me find them up every isles till he found them then he got on his knees and toulk off my right shoe and tried a size 11 then a 12 and size 12 was it well done young man it made my day that he toulk the time and patience to treat me as nice as he did his parents should be proude of him he is a asset to Academy sports.that is why I go back over and over oh pluss the prices are low for the good quality products we get that last..

I had good experience buying at this store. I found the basket and brakes for my daughter bicikle its always full but cashiers are so fast line to pay its was to long but it takes about 10 minutos to pay I like this store.

Asked a Store associate about head wraps to wear beneath my hardhat at work. He immediately stated we dont sale anything like that. I said what about head wraps that are worn under football helmets. He once again said there is nothing in stock like that. I said okay. Went to the football equipment section, found several Battle head wraps, selected what I wanted and started to educate the Store Associate about his inventory. Reconsidered, made my purchase. I figured, some are not as well versed at their job as they should be.

Why do they have employees walking around the store but only once register going on a Saturday? Line was easily 15 people deep and there was one register going. We ended up putting our stuff down and leaving because I cant support a business that doesnt place the customer at the top of the priority list.

It was really hard to get someone to assist & then after 30 minutes someone finally did, an older lady.Heres where the 3 stars play in, at checkout, we were next in line to checkout & the cashier told us to go to register 6, but that cashier was busy checking out another customer & I was like, what is going on, I turned & looked & saw that the line was extremely long by now & I wasnt going to go back & wait. Then a manager overheard me telling my husband that young lady was wrong, so he told us to just go to customer service to be checked out. I turned & looked at that young lady & she was checking out someone else, WoW!! Wonder why she didnt want to wait on us, we only had 2 items.

Normally I have a good experience at Academy, today was different. On 8/31 fishing licenses expire in Texas. I went in for a new license on 9/1 and there is only 1 register open in Arlington with a line that goes all the way down the front and down a side aisle. I got in line and after waiting 30 minutes the line had barely moved, so I left.

So today was a Fathers Day sale. We went in just looking for a couple of pair of Summer sandals for my husband and myself. The checkout line was wrapped halfway around the store all the way back to the gun case but I was very impressed because it was only 20 minutes and we were at the registers and out the door. Great job Academy!

Dont expect to be greeted or spoken to if you arent part of the movement. This makes the 2nd Academy store in the Tarrant County area that has treated me in such a way that their movement claims to want to change. Proof of this existence because a matching member of the current movement has taken place in line directly behind me and they were greeted. I reported the same issue to the GM of the previous incident, perhaps its time to shed some light on the matter in a larger scale.Academy was the place to get ammo during the 20-21 gouge, however this corporation is just like the rest of the greedy sellers. 223/556, doubled; 308 +25% or more, 350 Legend.... $27.99 for Ammo that was just $12.99. I do believe the letter sent out to retailers and dealers alike, stated prices would increase, but if memory serves me correctly, I believe it was no more than 15% or less.Shop around and stay away from this place if you are suddenly the evil responsible party for the actions of the United States of America founding members. But hey, ignorance is bliss, its just too bad the past can be left as such instead of history being erased or altered in such a way that to challenge those who wish to change what they truly do not know about increases the risk of the challenger to essentially significant embarrassment to potential physical harm.Besides, shopping around is smart shopping anyhow, so I know you prefer to save a buck or $20 when looking for ammo. I give it a 5 for all the great sales they advertised. As far as the long lines and only 2 cashiers I give them a 3. Store was way too busy for only two cashiers. Last time I visited it was 1 cashier and long line

There were lots of customers and hardly any employees. There were two very helpful employees Janet and another young man who was the only cashiers while Janet helped me and my grandson this young man. Had a long line at least 10 people. When I asked where the other employees were Janet said she didnt know!Sounds like the Manager needs to do his or her job and pay attention to what their doing! Makes you question, where was the manager?

My grandsons were there to purchase bikes and equipment. They found what they wanted right away. The sales personal were helpful to gets the bikes down off the top rack. They found helmets and locks easily. It was a great experience.

Asked a store associate to call someone to open up a fitting room. I stood in the fitting room area for 15 minutes before walking out because no one ever came. It would’ve taken less than 1 minute to simply unlock a fitting room door.

Had Purchased a Year Long Fishing License this past Friday&the Employee Rang it Up All Wrong which I unfortunately did not notice till i got home&put on my reading glasses.....& the license read that it was set to expire in a lil over 90days.....No Bueno....I paid for a yearly fishing license...So I call the Store&they apologize&tell me 2 come on back so they can make it right-Only prob is I live 45min away in Dallas....So Monday afternoon I make the trek&was given a 25$ Gift card&45min later they call me to the front & I now have my year long All Water License&Got An Awesome Retro Pair of Nikes for the low thanks to the Giftcard

This store is pretty good at selling sports related. However everytime I go here to buy soccer shoes I can hardly ever find my size. Its almost as though these people have never heard of certain sizes. Please expand your size range or restock your sizes, because I can hardly find my size.

Purchased bike for my nephew. After test ride he did not like that style for comfort level. We returned to store for refund. No hassle. In and out. Very refreshing to see a company stand behind products. Will recommend.

Everything was organized and clean. My only critique is that they had a super long line. I think we waited for 10 minutes. However, the cashiers were efficient and they had someone running the play and sending people to designated registers. Overall, I would come here again.

This by far is the best academy sports and outdoors in our region they go above and beyond to make sure the customers happy I am so glad that I stopped here to get what I needed bud Brian Jason and Deborah were very helpful and helping me make my decision on a firearm that I was getting to ec9 s I mean theyre in a class of their own with customer service customer care and just making sure that youre put first when buying anything this is my account of me forever and the guy thats keeping everything held together is Hunter everyone should visit this academy at least once in a lifetime to experience the great customer service that I got from them ownership and upper management should really give kudos to this staff theyre really going above the bar thank you for everything you guys and I definitely will be stopping in to check on you and whenever I need my goods

Bought what I went in for. The cashier was not friendly at all. In fact, was very rude. There needs to be some serious training on common courtesy and respect. Didnt get either.

Waited at the gun counter for 45 minutes, until an employee finally was told by her manager to come tell us we were next in line, as if we didn’t know that already. Then overheard the same girl complaining about having to walk over and acknowledge us, saying that there were other people waiting in front of us first. Which there was...but they all left due to the lack of attention from both workers behind the counter. Maybe next time have more than just one person with the knowledge to be able to help people purchase the items they are there for. Nice job, Academy Arlington.

Ammunition is very costly, that is if you can find your caliber.To buy a gun and or even look at one, it is a very LONG wait!!!Not to mention the selection of guns is few.

I love Academy in general. This location always seems crowded and understaffed. The line was halfway to the back of the store last time I was there.

Finding shoes was a hassle. They different shoes all together. You have to open 20 boxes to find the ones that are displayed.

Its an alright kept store. Good location where its by the parks mall and restaurants but still on its own spot somewhere else on Arbrook. The prices, Im sure you can find cheaper elsewhere but you do have the convenience of a brick and mortar store.

Just ran in to grab 1 item. One check out open with multiple employees just looking at the long line and walking by. This store has alway had bad customer service. Especially if you need help getting a big item.

This store was a complete disaster. Not sure what was exactly going on but the womens and shoe departments (where I visited) were in complete disarray. Tables, racks and walls were un orderly. Clothes falling off hangers, just thrown on top of other clothes or just simply on the floor. It looked like tax free weekend had happened. The shoe dept. wasnt any better. Shoes in the floor, not in their place or just not stocked where there were empty shelves...dont know, maybe it was just the weekend crowd or maybe the crew was short satffed.

The Sales Associate Nick in the gun section went above and beyond to assist me in purchasing a rifle. Even though the gun counter was busy when I came in that evening it never fazed Nick and he made sure to answer and treat me like my time was important. Writing this review is totally out of my character, but I wanted to thank Nick for a job well done!

Pros: Got what I needed, price point was competitive, checkout was crowded but fast!Cons: Floor associates are the reason for the loss of 2 stars. First one when asked for a specific shoe said, check along that wall, I dont know if we have that one. Then she walked away. Second one when asked for recommendations on shoes for standing all day said, I wear Brooks Adrenaline too but in a different color. Then he too walked away!!

Incredibly friendly staff. We were buying clothes and shoes, everyone was very helpful and courteous. I bought two 25 lb steele plates and an employee pushed a cart to me to place them in without even asking him. Great guy!

Want to give a special thanks to Charles in bikes tonight. My husband today has drove all over Ellis county looking for a 20in bike for us to help a 9 year old to have a better Christmas and I called up there and Charles helped make that blessing come true. I tried to call back up to the store several times again after my husband picked up the bike to personally thank him again but no answer but again Charles thank you so much you again you have helped us out a smile on this child’s face on Christmas Day. You don’t find many people go a extra mile and get recognized for it.

This store has a wide variety of sneakers but it sometimes lacks the very last designs, I was looking for under armor sandals and they Don haveem.

I came in originally for a table top smoker but ended up getting an electric smoker and it was the best advise living in a apartment complex per Amy. She knows her products and helped me decide. This Academy has the worst customer service out of any Academy Ive ever been too, a few things 1) the Gun bar employees are extremely rude and are quick to ignore you, 2) When checking out (any product) they only have 2 lanes open maybe 3 on a good day but, they are always having technical issues or theyre generally moving slow (its been like this since I was a child). 3) A simple issue of a return seems to be impossible for them to figure out. Go to the Mansfield location trust me you’ll thank me.

A complete mess, theyre underemployed and lacking in the cash register area as well as regulating customers to stay 6 feet apart in a cluttered line. Which could all be avoided if they didnt have only 3 registers open to serve a growing line of 50+ people.

I called 7 times to talk to someone. Every time I was put on hold and no one would pick up for over 30 min. Then when I finally spoke to someone they hung up on me and I still haven’t been able to reach anyone. I’ll never buy from academy again

Only a few registers open a few days before Christmas. Waited 45 minutes to check out. Not well stocked. Lots of employees standing around instead of helping to check. Our checker was new, I think, and sagging his pants. Who still does that?

I had a less than stellar firearms buying experience on black Friday. I was told that the Deer Rifle I had bought had been bore sighted to 100 yards. Within 3 rounds fired at the range, I knew that wasnt true. I was holding dead center of the target and my first group ended up being off 8 to the left and 4 high at 25 yards.
