I have yet to meet Alan, but Nic is awesome!!LONG VERSION: The first time I went to Bella Piercing, I had previously gotten my helixes and septum done at a local tattoo shop. That piercer put in the same cheap, externally threaded horseshoes in all three piercings. If you dont know, piercing helixes with horseshoes is a recipe for disaster, and a few months in they were extremely inflamed with big irritation bumps on the back, and werent healing properly.Nic replaced them for me and I got beautiful handcrafted amethyst piercings from the store - this time with high quality flatbacks. He also made me a beautiful minimalist rose gold septum on the spot. I asked about new piercings, and Nic advised me against them against his own financial gain, in favor of making sure the ones I did have healed properly.He was really nice, and he happily answered all my questions - including some very obscure ones.This time when I came back, the swelling had gone away and we shortened my flatbacks. And with my septum now healed, he pierced my second lobe for me with a store-made moon piercing. He was very clear with me when working out the placement, and vocally informed me any time he needed to touch my ear - which I greatly appreciate. If you are a woman, you will feel safe and comfortable in this place. The piercing was done quick and easy.Bella Piercing is awesome and as long as I live in North Carolina, this is my piercing shop.

I completely forgot to review after getting my septum re-done back last fall, but Alan is incredible!!! The entire place was amazing. I was extremely comfortable the whole time and Alan was explaining everything to me during the process. It’s no wonder they are essentially 5 stars! They have beautiful fine jewelry which I hope to purchase from them soon. The piercing itself was a great experience. I let my septum close up about 2 years ago and Alan simply reopened it and was so kind to only charge me for the jewelry! The piercing was not painful (mostly) and I am a wimp haha. I could never recommend a place more!! :)

This was the best piercing experience Ive ever had. They made me feel so at ease and helped guide me to choices I was happy with. So so patient. I got my septum pierced by Nic, and it was awesome!! He is super personable but very professional. I’ve read a lot of septum horror stories about piercers missing the sweet spot, but Nic took his time to ensure that the piercing was properly placed, and it was almost painless. He talked me through the whole process and did a great job of calming my nerves. I decided to go with a simple gold hoop, but Bella has a large array of high quality, gorgeous jewelry that is perfect for anyone who wants more than the standard piercing jewelry. It is on the pricier side, but it is 100% worth it. I would recommend Bella to anyone looking for a great shop in the WNC area!!

Wow this piercing shop is absolutely top notch! I went here for the first time and the piercing artist Nic was so skilled and communicated very clearly. I was repeatedly asked for my comfort levels and consent and felt very taken care of. He did not use any clamps to guide the needle and it was perfectly even!! My personal anatomy was taken into consideration and different sized jewelry was installed accordingly. I have since gone back for two more piercings and just have a better experience each time! If you are looking to get any piercings this is 1000000% the place to go.Their pricing is more than fair and the staff are incredible, take it from a repeat customer! Had my nose piercing done by Nic and it was a great experience! Nic took his time with me, answered all of my questions thoroughly and had some great conversations.This is also an APP studio, so it’s obviously not a $25 piercings with cheap jewelry place. However, it’s incredibly worth it and truthfully, the cost of the piercing and gold jewelry was extremely fair.Overall, a very pleasant experience and I’m so relieved that this piercing studio exists in North Carolina.

Even with COVID adaptations, Bella was a very professional, helpful and great environment for my nose piercing. Alan was incredibly kind, patient (with all the questions I had about my piercing) and professional. I was in my scrubs as I had just come from work from the hospital and I had never been in this establishment before so I walk in and am immediately being looked up and down from the employee I did not get his name but he was wearing a blue button down and had tattoos. He than comes right to me and just looks at me and I tell him that I have never been here before but I’m looking for some new jewelry and I ask him if he has a certain type of ring and he say he doesn’t and that they don’t sell those so I ask if he has anything like that or anything he would recommend and he tells me that that is not the type of place this is and than mentions how expensive and real they are and that they don’t have anything that I would like. I know I looked a mess but I had just came from a 13 hour shift at the hospital dealing with COVID. Maybe they should treat people who are on the front lines. I recommend talking to this man about his attitude.

Just moved to town in need of a new reliable piercer! When I walked in I was greeted with a warm welcome. The gentleman who greeted me was so kind and worked fast and gentle. The whole shop was extremely clean, it had a beautiful layout. I definitely will be returning :)

**Highly Recommend** I made an appointment here because of a few serious issues I experienced with a shop in East AVL on Tunnel Road (for the love of god don’t go there). They used jewelry that started tarnishing in my fresh piercings, then replaced it with barbells that were much to short for healing, so I knew I needed to find a more professional shop.Here at Bella, you will immediately feel taken care of. They are professional, friendly and take pride in what they do. After hearing about my issues, Nic fitted me with proper sized barbells to allow for swelling/healing. He reassured me they were implant grade internally threaded titanium and used an autoclave to sterilize them, unlike the other shop.He switched them out for me, wrote down what size barbells I would need later for downsizing, and even gave me a business card of another reputable shop where I could find anodized titanium barbells later on if I wanted to shop around for that. He also gave me proper aftercare instructions, unlike the other shop that told me to pack sea salt on it 2x daily for 2 months.If you’re considering a piercing, go here. They are members of the Association of Professional Piercers and it shows. I didn’t get to browse their jewelry while I was there, but from what little I saw they carry a unique and high quality selection.I also appreciated the covid safety measures they have: Masks are required and appointments are required so that no line or groups form. Their website is very clean and clear with all of these instructions and made it easy to make an appointment online too.

I visited Alan for a consultation to be sure I had the proper ear anatomy for an industrial. He was very informative, able to answer any question I threw at him about aftercare, their piercing process, the gages, lengths, and materials of jewelry, hypertrophic scars, keloids, metal allergies, infections, etc. Confident that I had found a good environment to get my first healthy piercing, I decided to book my appointment. When I walked in he set about to sizing a 14g titanium industrial bar against my ear, showed me the angles in the mirror, etc, then proceeded to unscrew the balls off my bar and set all three pieces, the needle, and any other tools necessary for the procedure into an autoclave. While that processed I read and signed a waiver asking about things like keloid history within the family tree, latex or metal allergies, drink or drugs in my system, etc. Snapped a photo of my ID and signed my name, and Alan even offered to let me change the studio music to whatever I desired which I thought was very considerate of him even though I didnt bother. He had me lay down on the bed with my left ear turned up toward him, then handed me a handheld mirror to direct the final angle of the bar against my ear, first asking if he could touch me. I settled on one I liked, then he pressed the bar into my ear for a moment to create an indention for his needle to follow. I appreciated this because I dont know who else a pen might have touched, or where. He then sanitized my ear with alcohol and sodium hypochlorite before using a hollow needle only slightly larger than my bar to pierce the front half of my industrial, then offered me a moment before the second half. I do dislike that he reused the needle for my second piercing, even though all it had touched was my first piercing, because at times the second hole does tingle more than the first but its not super noticeable or annoying. He also did not give me a swell bar, saying that industrials dont swell all that much so it wouldnt be necessary. As a piercing virgin, I trust his judgement, but it would have offered me a little more peace of mind in relation to my healing process, and overall he was not slow with setting my bar into place, which is much appreciated because it burned like fire the entire time he had to touch it. Pain level was like a nine out of ten for me, very intense but also very brief, and shortly after the adrenaline kicked in and I felt little to nothing. He cleaned up any blood, and hours afterward my pain came in waves from one to six, and then settled back down before another wave would hit. By the next day it was painless. Im very careful not to sleep on, snag, or bump it, and I clean morning and evening with saline before rubbing essential oils under my ear to be carried up through my blood vessels to fight inflammation and promote healing, and in three days Ive only needed painkillers once. The bar fits very well, it does not touch in the middle of my ear and floats freely between the two points, and Alans placement in relation to the middles of my ridge was stellar! Overall I would say that my experience was a very good one, and Id likely go back. Alans gloves, which he constantly changed, fit snugly onto his hands, and he sanitized any surface either of us touched after the procedure. The environment was very clean, mellow, I was talked through each step of the process as it happened, and I enjoyed the incense burned, music played, jewelry on display, and the weirdly homey Asheville vibe to the place. I do recommend!

The owner/employee (not sure?) with the butterfly neck tattoo was exceptionally kind and re-opened the shop he had just been checking in on, just to help me out. I am forever grateful. I originally received peircings from here and it went good. The piercing looked beautiful as well as the jewelry. Although. He could work on his mannerisms as I came inside the shop. He seemed very stand offish, like maybe I looked like I couldnt afford the jewelry. But the shop had good reviews so I decided to thrust him.Fast forward several weeks later I go in for a downsizing. The jewelry that was put in on one of my ears is too small and my ear WAS healing great. Now its swollen and my skin is pushing over the jewelry so much that the gold cant be seen. I understand these things can happen, so I called and left a voicemail explaining my situation. I never received a call back. I feel its unnecessary to book online AGIAN several weeks out when I need something fixed sooner. I am now questioning why I paid so much for the peircings AND left a tip. Without receiving the upmost professional respect. Wth.Now after leaving the review and a another very concerned voicemail. I recieve a text from the shop stating he can move appointments around If I wish to come in. At this point I do not trust him with my body and chose to go elsewhere.

Nic, the piercing artist, was wearing a mask (correctly).I was greeted promptly and was able to take my sweet time to browse all my jewelry options. I felt welcome to ask a bunch of questions.I was there to replace the jewelry in my healed conch. This shop is better than any shop in my local area and has jewelry made by the artists.1. The jewelry is gorgeous and unique2. The prices were so reasonable! I was so impressed.3. There was a large variety of options which I felt no pressure to hurry up to choose and in no way did I feel pressured to get a new piercing or buy the most expensive pieces.Here is the best part for me: Nic went above and beyond duty. I just came in to get my conch jewelry replaced with something cute but he spent the time to look over my other piercings. Nic pointed out that some of my healed piercings had posts that were too long and one was actually affecting the angle my piercing was healing.He volunteered to change the posts for me without my asking. It was something I actually had been needing and wanting to do for a while but did not want to ask a piercer that didn’t do the original work to take the extra time and effort to do it for me. He spent quality time patiently fitting better posts to my healed piercings and they felt SO much better afterwards. He took his time to explain to me why the longer posts were bad for my piercings in an informative yet not condescending way.He autoclave the new jewelry for me even when I wasn’t getting a new piercing. This was a great comforting touch to me. Very professional.When we got started Nic made sure I was comfortable and even asked for consent to touch my ears and informed me what I needed to let him know if I was uncomfortable at any point.During the process, he continued to ask about my comfort and thanked me for sitting well. He made wonderful conversation about the Asheville area and had wonderful manners. He is so well spoken and extremely personable.I ended up leaving there with my gorgeous new conch jewelry as well as new posts for a flat, a forward helix and my conch.When we were done, he handed my all my old jewelry and posts to keep. He didn’t charge me a penny for any of the extra work. Just the new single piece of conch jewelry that I purchased.I wish I lived in this area to continue to support this shop. Knowing I was a tourist, he suggested a professional shop in my local area for my future use. He treated me so well and I can’t say enough about it. It was a highlight of my entire trip.

Walked in to make a purchase. I already had the piercing so just needed jewelry. Walked in had my mask on and was quickly told to get out that an appointment was needed. I asked if I could make an appointment and was told to leave again and make it online. I understand protocol is different given the circumstances but there are so many ways that could be handled more professionally. There are no signs on the door that says appointment only. Staff was extremely rude and unprofessional.

I have lived in Asheville my entire life and I am very disappointed that I just found this incredible shop!I arrived early but Nic was busy so I waited. I waiting longer than expected but Nic was Absolutely kind and apologizing for the delay. Wow, I almost never leave reviews for places unless Im blown away, and Im feeling nothing less than that after having a few piercings done with Nic yesterday. Although I was expecting extreme pain, it was even quicker than expected and he answered all of my questions thoroughly and with a smile. Took our daughter to get her ear cartilage pierced. Was recommended by Hot Stuff tattoo when looking for a place. This is a fine jewelry shop that does piercing. Jewelry is handmade right there so expect to pay more than your average piercing place. The folks are sweet, kind, gentle, and helped ease the experience of our teenager who was nervous. They have coffee, tea, and water and a small bench for sitting which is a lot since its a tiny place packed full of goodness. Parking lot so no need to off street park which is great for downtown aSHEville. Glad we came. Overall wonderful experience!

Went in for a simple ear lobe piercing for my girlfriend. In the past, piercing places that I’ve been to pierce your ears and give you a small simple stud so that the hole doesnt close. At Bella, they want you to make a purchase of 100$+ ear jewelry at the time of piercing. I feel like the process of piercing should be relatively decoupled from the process of actually purchasing the jewelry.During our consultation, the staff member that we talked to was very condescending about piercing in general. I’m sure he’s very knowledgeable and takes his job seriously but he should do a better job of expressing his opinion without passing judgement. Pretty bad experience overall even though no piercing was done.

I was on vacation and decided I wanted to get my conch and nostril pierced. Bella had good online reviews so I figured Id go there. The staff was very friendly and informative. Nic was super patient when I got nervous before getting pierced. He explained everything he was doing and checked in with me several times to make sure I was still feeling good. I stopped in a couple months ago on a whim to get my ears (re)pierced. I had them pierced long ago and they never quite healed correctly and then finally just closed up. Bella did an amazing job and 2 months later my ears are happy and healthy. Their selection of jewelry is beautiful and of high quality. The process was smooth and they were very friendly. I will definitely be back for more!

Honest feedback regarding what jewelry would look good in my forward helix, and worked with me to find something fitting and pretty. I have small, kind of oddly shaped ears so its a struggle to adorn them sometimes. The employees genuinely cared about finding something that would work for me that I would be happy with. Best shop in town. Nic and Alan’s handmade jewelry is some of the most unique pieces of art you will find in a piercing shop - not just in Asheville - but in the country. I’ve been pierced by Nic 4 times and each time he is delightfully friendly, charming and always professional. Their customer service after the sale has been above and beyond. I will be back and I highly recommend them.

Very friendly staff, and a wonderful atmosphere

I never write reviews but I felt the need to because this place is truly so incredible! A friend and I got our nipples pierced by Nic a few days ago and he was so professional yet respectful and made the experience so relaxing. My friend and I were both super nervous but it ended up being a very positive experience and I absolutely recommend this place to everyone! It was affordable but not so cheap that you dont trust it... I would have been willing to pay much more for such a great customer experience :) Thank you Nic!

Nic was awesome!! Came to Asheville for a girls weekend, a couple of weekends ago, and got a tragus piercing done. Very professional and clean, unlike any place Ive visited. Will definitely be back for other piercings. Definitely knowledgeable about what they are doing and they have some really awesome custom made jewelry. Will be the only place I get piercings done from now on!

I got my nose pierced here a few days ago. It was an amazing experience! Jon was very thorough with the sterilization. This was out of my comfort zone so he explained everything so I understood. I had a great experience with Nic. I came in to get the daith piercing for my migraines and had no clue how to navigate anything in the piercing world. He was super informative and thorough in explaining the process and options to me. Nic also called back right away to follow up on a question I had after my piercing. Their space is really clean - I appreciated their commitment to sanitation. Also, their jewelry options are so pretty!

I would recommend Bella to anyone looking for an exceptionally professional and knowledgeable piercing experience with custom jewelry. I have several piercings and also happen to be a medical doctor, and my experience at Bella stood out as superior compared to other shops I have visited. Their jewelry is a bit on the pricey side but the piercers are also goldsmiths / jewelers, and they make much of their jewelry in house. Therefore, it is worth paying a bit of a premium for one-of-a-kind local artisan embellishments.

My daughter’s nose piercing kept getting infected so we came by Bella to get advice. She had the piercing done out of state. John was awesome. Told her what to do. She wanted to get a new one, but he told her to wait. It says a lot about a business when they are honest and not pushing to make a sale. Took out her ring so it could heal.She’ll be back to get a new one done properly.Nice setting as well.

I had my nose pierced before and let it close up. I really was dreading getting it re-pierced. This was my first time at Bella and I’m so shocked at the difference. This time it wasn’t painful, and went sooo much quicker, smoother than my first nose piercing. Alan and Nic were super nice and welcoming. Def recommend them!

A friend and I were looking around many shops downtown for a specific type of jewelry and it started pouring while we were trying to locate the store. We got out of the deluge and my friend didnt have his mask on yet. The man came out of the back and was really rude about my friends mask situation, and then we were rudely informed that we couldnt look for / inquire about the jewelry because we didnt have an appointment.I understand that restrictions have to be put in place due to COVID-19, but the attitude was unnecessary. If customers are not allowed to enter the store, maybe the door should be locked? I didnt notice a sign, but that doesnt mean it wasnt there. We were rushing to get out of the storm.

Easy appointment made online, was the only one in the shop with the piercer, Nic. He helped me with my jewelry selection and was super nice and informative! Happy to provide business to this little shop :)

Nic was awesome! I was nervous about getting my nose pierced. He was patient and answered all of my questions. We walked in at 15 minutes to close and still had no problem sitting with me. The shop was cleaner than some doctors offices Ive seen.

My mom, sisters, and I stopped in to get our noses pierced. While the jewelry was beautiful, unique, and high quality, it wasnt exactly the look we were going for. The staff (Nic, I believe) was so sweet and even said as much as hed love to pierce us, he wanted us to walk out feeling amazing and not just okay with our piercing. He referred us to another studio that he said would have a broader selection of the jewelry we were looking for. While we cant comment on the piercing itself, their customer service, kindness, and helpfulness alone is deserving of 5+ stars!

I had my bridge pierced here several months ago and it was not straight. I went back more times than I can remember to have them straighten it (I would guess at least 8 times), and after every time it was still never straight. The only reason I am not giving one star is because they never tried to charge me to straighten it. I paid 90 dollars here including the tip to have this done, which is exceptionally more than you would pay at other good piercing places. I assumed the extra money meant they would actually do a good job. I was wrong. I have taken the piercing out because I am tired of being upset every time I see it. Businesses should not get away with claiming to be exceptional when they are not.

Nic was super fun and knowledgeable. He was really thoughtful about placement and jewelry choices, which I really appreciated. He had me put my sunglasses on before choosing a placement for my flat so he could be sure they wouldnt bump it! He also makes some of the jewelry they sell in the shop, I bought one of his pieces. I loved my experience at Bella Fine. Hope to get back there soon.

My experience with Hannah at Bella and the shop in general was simply AMAZING!! Her spirit is one of a kind! She made me feel comfortable as soon as I walked through the door. She was very knowledgeable about pricing of everything and was very patience with me after having her calculate my total more than once :). Genuinely a great person all around. The best piercer hands down! She makes the experience less painful as possible.. can’t wait to return for my other pieces! Asheville and surrounding areas, this is THE piercing shop to visit. The care, the attention to customer nerves, the quality of jewelry (many made in-house and lots of gorgeous original pieces), the cleanliness, and most importantly, their kindness, make this shop shine. As far as I can tell, it might be the the most impressive piercing spot in the South. Not only do their aesthetics cover a wide spectrum of piercing styles — dainty chains and bitty 14k gold beaded pieces to heavy stones wrapped in textured metals — the folks who work here care about each other and your experience. No one rushes you. The piercers ask for consent to touch you. It’s conversational. They explain exactly what they’re doing and why. And they welcome you to interrupt at any point should you have a question or find yourself too nervous. It’s wildly different from any other piercing experience I’ve had and that’s a very good thing.Added bonus: When I visited, the shop was donating proceeds to a colleague’s top surgery. These are good folks, y’all.

I’m visiting from DC but came in hoping to switch out my recent nose piercing jewelry for something smaller. They were super helpful, knowledgeable, and honest. They didn’t try to take my money just because, but instead recommended a place near my hometown that has the jewelry I was searching for. Although I didn’t personally get pierced by them, would 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone just for their customer service!

Just go here. Seriously, they are amazing. Every step of the progress of easy and comfortable with the amount of care they give. I would give the 6 stars or more, if that was possible. I was here with my friend last week getting our noses pierced. The whole time we felt super comfortable and the guys there treated us as if we’d known them a long time. I wanted a gold flat disk- they didn’t have any but said they could make one real quick- um awesome. The jewelry was autoclaved and Jon who was in town piercing for the week made us feel super comfortable and walked us through everything he was doing. Would definitely recommend this place.

Derek was very knowledgeable about jewelry and anatomy. I have a metal allergy and Ive worn the jewelry I bought for the piercing for over 3 years with no problems. He explained the process clearly and answered all of my questions fully. Extremely professional. He made sure I was comfortable through all three of the piercings, and gave great aftercare instructions. I would definitely recommend stopping in.
