Seriously delicious donuts! Made fresh to order and very quickly. A must do if you’re in the area, these donuts are incredible.

OH WOW. We went at 12:00 pm on a Saturday, July 3, 2021. There were people waiting, but it didn’t take long once we placed our order. We ordered online and it was ready in like 10 minutes. A baker’s half dozen (7 donuts) is $15 and a baker’s dozen (13 donuts) is $30, so the baker’s half dozen is a better deal.They have 4 flavors: Vanilla Glaze, Cinnamon Sugar, Toasted Almond Sesame Cinnamon, and Maple Bourbon Glaze. I believe the last one rotates, but the first three are always on the menu. The donuts are made to order, so you never have to worry about them running out of a certain kind! I tried all 4 flavors and they were AMAZING. I can’t even rank them, they’re all just so good. Treat yourself and get some donuts from HOLE!

The lightest and freshest donuts Ive ever had. The donuts are made to order and are served piping hot (think zeppoles from a carnival hot). The outside was crisp, but the inside was fluffy and full of air pockets. I recommend eating them immediately!Restaurant only serves 4 flavors daily with one being a special. The chocolate milk came out cold and refreshing inside a to go cup. It pairs really well with the donuts.Currently, you are expected to place your order online and pickup in their parking lot. Expect a slight wait, but it is well worth it! Hostess was incredibly cheery and kind.

So...made to order doughnuts was a new concept to this Montana boy. So there was a line and everyone just looking at each other. Turns out you order online...and then this lady comes out that was just so delightful! I didnt get her name but shes pictured. They serve the donuts in pizza boxes still warm and amazing! She works the crowd like a maestro. Think I would come back just for her pleasant voice and kind demeanor. And the donuts are unexplainable scrumptious. This is a must do for a most amazing carb and sugar load.

Delicious donuts, very friendly staff. There were four flavors available when we went (small selection is typically a good sign) and they were delicious. My wife really enjoyed the wisteria donuts and I thought the vanilla glazed donut was fantastic. Fluffy inside, very crispy outside, reminiscent of Navajo fry bread.

Laurie is absolutely amazing!! We met her at New Belgium the day before and she is such a lovely person inside and out. Wow! I’ve had some donuts in my lifetime from all over the world, but these are hands down the best donuts I’ve ever had. I’m a texture guy, so the crisp, light crunch but soft airy and doughy inside is the perfect balance! Unbelievable flavors coming out of the shop! Toasted Almond Sesame Cinnamon is reminiscent of a Chinese Sesame Ball but a DONUT! Soooo good, I love Mochi donuts but I’d take these over them any day! Thank you for what you do Laurie!!!

This store is closed to customers at the moment. You have to order online and do curbside pickup. The donuts are best ate when warm. There are a lot of other customers wait outside for their orders so its best to order your donuts before you leave your house.

This is the best glazed doughnut I have ever had, hot from the fryer. The. Signet doughnut was a close second - just incredible. The service was fast and really friendly. This place will be a guaranteed stop on any future visit to Asheville.

Yesterday I went to Hole Doughnuts for a birthday breakfast and sat down at the tables outside as I finished a phone call. Before I could order, I was met with warmth, kindness and a special treat. The lady didn’t know but gave me such a great birthday present! Can’t recommend the place enough :)

The best donuts I’ve ever had… by FAR! It’s hard to even put all donuts into the same category when Hole Donuts are in that category. They are clearly donuts, but they are so much better than any donut I’ve had before that I start to question whether other donuts are actually donuts. I’m including other specialty donut shops when I make this statement, not just nationwide chains. I could go on… but let me also do something about the atmosphere. I enjoy the small scale of the store and sitting at the table while a light bustle of donut making continues opposite me. The staff is friendly. Their coffee pairs well with their donuts. Though good, it’s not the out of this world quality of their donuts.Hole Donuts is a must visit if you haven’t been.Go on a weekday and there’s little to no line.

O.M.G.My husband and I ordered one of each donut so we could sample their different offerings. Needless to say we should have ordered at least a half dozen as these donuts were SO GOOD!! They hand deliver them to you nice and warm. You get a nice fried crisp on the exterior of the donut and the inside is soft and pillowy. My personal favorite was the Vanilla Glazed (since I’m a classic girl). My husband really liked their special flavors: Cocoa Coffee Cardamom as well as the Toasted Almond Sesame Cinnamon. Unfortunately we took no pictures as we ate them sooo fast.

Maybe the best donut Ive ever had! I cant explain how crunchy soft and light this donut was. They only had 3 flavors which I think is great. Do a few things and do them right. You have to order online due to covid then pick them up. The parking is a little limited when theyre busy but great customer service and great donuts.

Came right as they sold out but they were sweet enough to make one for me anyways. It really made my day. Oh, and it was fresh and delicious and I loved it!

Be sure to get a picture with their funky food truck in the parking lot. Just be sure to double check their hours as they are closed on some weekdays.

These are the BEST, BEST donuts ever to grace the Earth. Wowzah, I can not even begin to describe the immense joy you feel while eating each bite. Each order is made fresh, just for you. So, that means the donuts are fresh, hot, soft, and perfectly delicious! My family and I traveled several hours to get here after seeing their rave reviews. This shop was listed as the TOP donuts in NC. But in all honesty, I think they are the best donuts in the world!!! I also wanted to shed light on a woman who worked there with reddish curly hair and an upbeat personality. I think she is the owner, but regardless, she was an absolute doll! She interacted with each customer she met and kept them updated on the status of their order. She checked in with us to see if there was anything else we needed to improve our (already exceptional) experience, which shows how much she went the extra mile. I’m looking forward to the next time Im in Asheville so that I can get my hands on these puppies. Get the glazed and cinnamon sugar; they are worth all the calories.

Hole donuts are the best!! They are so fresh and taste amazing! Their gluten free donuts were amazing too! The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because, for unknown reasons, they stopped carrying gluten free donuts. That is highly disappointing, as gluten free people want amazing donuts too! But if you aren’t gluten free, a visit to Hole Donuts is a must.

Best donut ever! Cooked while you wait - fresh, hot, not greasy and flavorful. Tried the regular glaze and cinnamon sugar today - both delicious but the cinnamon glaze was perfect!

The doughnuts here are fantastic, and the people who run the place are pretty awesome, too. We had stopped at Hole while visiting Asheville a few years ago and loved their made-to-order doughnuts. We were back in North Carolina last week, staying in a yurt at a campground, when tropical depression Fred came through. We spent a night without power, worrying about the rising creek and potential tornadoes. The next morning, we headed to Asheville and decided doughnuts were what we needed. We were thrilled to see Hole was still open! While waiting for our doughnuts, another customer asked where we were from. We mentioned the storm/loss of power etc. When our doughnuts were ready, the owner/employee (not sure which!) handed them to us and said, “There’s no charge because of what you went through last night.” How wonderful is that?? The doughnuts were just as fabulous as the first time we had them, too. What an amazing business. We will be back in Asheville in November (staying in a house, not a yurt!) and will be sure to make a stop at Hole and buy doughnuts for us and family we will be visiting.

Amazing donuts cooked to order, served hot and delicious! We bought one of each of the 4 daily specials and agreed that the cinnamon/sesame was the most awesome. I know it sounds weird but try it!

Donuts alone, I would rate a 5 star, they were different than any donut Ive had. Hand shaped, slightly crispy exterior and very airy on the inside with a perfect amount of frosting. Unfortunately, the bakery is still closed so you have to order online and wait outside for it to be done. They only offer 4 types of donuts for you to choose from and I would complain about them being more expensive than most but considering theyre made to order its worth it. I ordered one glazed donut and waited 10 minutes for it to be prepared. The lady was very sincere and apologetic about our wait but I recommend you just order ahead of time. The place looked super cute and cozy on the inside but I just wish we could have experienced it for what it really is. Again, the donut was amazing otherwise my rating would be a little lower.

Delicious! Made to order, and they are the perfect blend of crispy and fluffy. Currently you have to place your order online and pick up in the parking lot. However, this didn’t impact the service one bit. The staff was so sweet and efficient!

Greeted by pure sunshine in human form and served the most fresh and delicious doughnuts. On our way out, a staff member ran out behind us and gave us some stickers. You can tell she loves what she does and it shows. Of course, the doughnuts come out hot and taste like heaven too. The next time we’re in town, we’re bee-lining to Hole!

These donuts are legit good. Made on the spot, there might be a wait but it’s worth it. The Toasted Almond Sesame Cinnamon is amazing. Cinnamon sugar staple is also top notch. Not just Asheville good but universally good.

My family and I really wanted to try this place as we’d heard great things. We arrived before 0900 on a Friday morning and saw that parking was non-existent, but we parked down a street and walked over. I was surprised to see that despite having several employees inside, there was a sign that read “online ordering only.” I was now annoyed as this stance is severely outdated (if they’re trying to spin this as a “CoVid precaution” in July 2021) and is the exact opposite of Southern hospitality, or even common courtesy. Still, I persevered, and attempted to place an order online. Apparently my personal email address was “invalid,” requiring me to enter my work email address. Then, the 0915 pick up time was unavailable, forcing us to choose 0930. Fine. I added all items to the order form, and checked the “Apple Pay” option. However, then the website demanded that I then enter my billing address. At this point, I decided this was entirely too much work to simply order donuts for breakfast and we left.Speaking as someone with a master’s degree in business management, this is a very poor business plan. If you physically have customers at your location who are willing and eager to try your products, yet you refuse to serve them, you’re going to lose business. I would never return to this location.

Hands down the best doughnut I have ever had! If you love yeast raised hot made to order doughnuts then this place is for you! My husband and I got all 4 flavors they had. Vanilla glazed, sesame ( different but very tasty) cinnamon sugar, and the special - Earl Grey. They were crispy on the outside and pillowy soft in the middle. The glaze was sweet with hint of salt that balances everything out nicely (nothing like those overly sweet things you get at the popular chain). So good!

This place has delicious donuts! We got the Bakers 1/2 Dozen which gets you 7 Donuts. We tried all 4 flavors and they were all awesome. My favorite was the toasted almond. Make sure to sign up for their rewards while your there to start earning free donuts.

First of all: Incredible donuts! These donuts were fresh, light and so delicious. We tried three flavors: sesame almond, mint julep, and cinnamon sugar. Each one was excellent and I was surprised how much I loved the two more unusual flavors. The woman at the front who greeted me and took my order was exceptionally kind and friendly. All around a lovely experience.

Ordering is currently online-only, and I suggest ordering ahead through the link on their website. We placed an order on Sunday morning at 9:40 AM and it took about an hour before it was ready. Note that you’ll only get an order time once you complete the purchase. The team looked like they were working as quickly as possible; I think they just have too much demand for their staff.A tip to the business owner: I noticed you use Square in your store. Square has an online ordering platform that doesn’t require customers to create an account (unlike ChowNow), and gives customers a wait time estimate before they order. Just something to consider. 🙂

Amazing donuts unlike any I’ve had before! The woman who brings you your donuts is a bit too energetic for me. First thing in the morning I’m still trying to process being out of bed and she was shouting and bouncing and being super over the top. Some of the locals seem to love that about the place and others looked like they just wanted to pick up their donuts without having to be accosted first thing in the morning. I would definitely go back but I wouldn’t want to go often enough that she learns my name.

Sesame donut was a crowd favorite! The donut emcee definitely made the experience. She hooked us up with reccs to Baby Bull for lunch, she really completed the “hole” experience. Fresh and delicious!-“Drop the Mike”

These doughnuts were really unique, well done, and totally fresh. They have a short menu, but that just made the decision on which to order that much easier (see photo: one of each). Due to Covid precautions, the shop was shutdown for multiple days but it was not clear what days and for how long. It’s great that they were safe, but wish it was clear on their website so I didn’t show up to an empty shop.

OMG!! Where do I start? Oh, I know where. Ive had some really great donuts in my life, we all have I imagine. From Florida to Colorado to St Louis to Toronto to New Hampshire....BUT those donut shops didnt have Laurie working for them. Wow, Laurie...it was like at first sight and definitely LOVE at second sight. (We saw her many times bringing out orders) There are personalities that just click when you meet them and Laurie clicks with all personalities which is a gift that only a small segment of the population has. My wife and I just have to go back to Hole one more time before returning home to get some more of Lauries love and energy.Oh....and the donuts and coffee are AWESOME!!!

The toasted sesame doughnut was one of the best doughnuts i’ve ever had. Fresh, light, airy, a little crispy on the outside, sweet but not too sweet. The staff was super nice! Online orders only and they will bring it out to you. The parking lot is small but it seems like it’s a quick turnover. We also tried a couple other doughnut and they were delicious as well. You can’t go wrong.

What a wonderful place. Amazing made to order donuts. Theyre a yeast style donut that is light and airy almost like a croissant. Theye oddly shaped which is unique and reminded me of a cronut. We tried all the available flavors and loved them all. The service was friendly and energetic. The lady running the joint seemed to really enjoy herself and was passionate about her product.

This is a UNIQUE experience that combines great taste with an unusual dining experience. Its tough not being able to sit indoors and eat their delicious donuts, but the take out process is organized and worth the trip. When they finally reopen, DO NOT miss the opportunity to eat here!! My wife and I drove over 90 miles to return, and we will do it again after they bring back the indoor dining experience!!! Good food, and a great experience!!
