Classic southern diner that has been around forever. Great dining experience the servers are career servers who have been there for a long time for the most part. If youre from out of town and one is Southern dining experience this is certainly on your short list. This diner has been in so many movies over the years. It is truly a special place.

Old school diner. Little dated and worn but still cozy. The food was excellent. Home style cooking, big portions, and good prices. Employees are friendly. Food came out fast. First time at Silver Skillet and it DID NOT disappoint. Went at 11:30am on a Sunday and surprisingly there wasnt a wait! Even with COVID precautions, tables opened quickly and often enough that no one was waiting for more than 5 minutes for a seat. We had pancakes, biscuits + gravy, and the patty melt with hashbrowns- all of it was DELICIOUS! Wish I could have ordered more because everything sounded so good. The place is such an Atlanta staple and has that old diner feel/aesthetic where you just know the food is going to be good. Well definitely be making a trip back to try more of the menu!!!

A breath of fresh air, not far from the high rises, but its home town friendly, folk look you in the eye and say hi. Great food, generous portions and the staff will take the time to help you mix and match if you want. This is the furthest Southeast I have been since 71 so I remember some of the dishes but not well enough to order. No problem here. Real coffee, real food real folks. Enjoy

This is your typical greasy spoon diner with exceptional food. It is a small old fashioned diner with the decor to match. The service was quick and friendly. The menu is small but everything was cooked very good. The biscuits are not catfish head ones but are homemade and tasty. The county ham is very salty, as warned, but full of flavor. The chicken tender better tasted like funnel cake batter with a hint of pepper. The county gravy could have used a bit of pepper but early fixed and otherwise thick and well made. If you want a cheap and easy diner breakfast/lunch this is the place to go.

The service was great. The lovely lady at the register was on point. A bit pricey for the amount of food given. Looks like they were serving a 10 year old. The omelette looked like a very thin crepe suzette. I got one with ham and cheese. I seen a waitress take one to a customer. It Was very thick and fluffy. So I decided to get one. But mines was too thin and flat. The ham look like shaved meat, and the cheese had no flavor. The grits was watery. But the biscuit was on point. The hash browns were too greasy! Not worth almost $17! The service is all I can give good points on. The food was a bit bland. Except the biscuits!!!

I was extremely underwhelmed and somewhat disappointed with this restaurant. Ive been looking forward to eating here for months now because of the high ratings and because I heard it was a great place for breakfast. I was super excited when I got the opportunity to go today. First, let me say the overall look of the place is like an old 1960s diner. It is definitely stuck in that era. Thats not a bad thing. I kind of liked that charm. Now, on to the food...Lets just say, I wonder if any of the people who gave this place a 4 or 5 stars, really tasted the food. Or maybe I got a different chef because the food was most definitely not a 4. At best a 3 because it was hot. However, I ordered the catfish strips with eggs, grits, and a pancake. None of which tasted seasoned at all. Now granted, it came to my table piping hot but it was nothing to sing about. I understand this place has been around for several decades and been visited by a number of celebrities but I wonder if they thought the food was good because I didnt see any reviews by them. My friend ordered the skillet fried chicken and the breading was extremely thick and floury. The dressing and green beans tasted like they came from a box and a can and the macaroni and cheese was very dry and they used shell noodles instead of macaroni noodles. The staff were extremely friendly and our server was very attentive. We only paid about $26 for our meals combined, plus I got coffee; cant beat that! All in all, I was not impressed and will probably not be back.

I had the Veggie Swiss burger which was fantastic, and the onion rings that came with it were good as well. The interior was decorated beautifully, and had some pictures hanging up from when the restaurant originally opened in the 60s. There menu has some interesting background information about the restaurant, but it was mostly about to shows and movies it has been featured in. Our waitress was lovely and the bill was reasonable, highly recommend.

If youre looking for an inexpensive brunch with a very homely brunch, hit this spot. Perhaps my being a non-eggetarian vegetarian biases my perspective on the goodness of the food here. Our options were limited to a waffles, pancakes, oatmeal, and biscuits. The biscuits are great! But apart from that, I didnt particularly fall in love with the uncomfortable seating, homely-to-a-fault decor, and service like your strict grandmother would treat you. Given these things, I cant understand how so many celebrities have stopped by this joint! Go figure.
