Dr. Wynens is very meticulous in fine tuning your hearing aids. If new hearing aids are not working to your satisfaction or older hearing aids are not working right, she will send them back for replacement and get them within a few days. I am very pleased with the service provided by her and her assistant, David.

I first met Dr. Wynens in 2012. She was very sharp, understanding and helpful. I bought my first set of hearing aids at that time and it really made a major change in my life. Playing golf at the club or working at the office or out on jobsites was a totally new experience. Everything was more alive and enjoyable. Now, nine years later, it was time to upgrade the hearing aids because of the new technology. Again, Dr. Wynens was on top of here game. She let me borrow a set of DEMO aids and again, my life opened up to a new level. The new technology is unbelievable. I can hear just fine in crowded places. I went to Atlanta Hearing Doctor based on the excellent reviews. I knew before going there that I needed new hearing aids. Dr. Wynens was extremely receptive, nice, and professional. She did an amazing job educating me to the fact that “we hear with the brain, and not so much with our ears”. Made sense to me. After the hearing test, she gave me a cognitive test on the computer to check my memory, alertness, and quick thinking skills. Since the brain does most of the work, I was convinced how imperative it was to have the cognitive test. I was offered 3 choices of hearing aids and felt it was completely my decision. I went with the top tier Devises and was able to set up a payment plan to purchase them. Now, after having the devices for a month, my life has changed dramatically. I tucked away Dr. Wynens’ name for a few years because I knew she’d be the one I’d visit when and if I needed hearing aids. I had researched audiologists and she always appeared at the top of recommended lists of others. The day came when I needed my hearing improved. Dr. Maria Wynens was amazing! Although I did not have any hearing problems after the test, she still sat down and talked to me about how to preserve my hearing for the future. She also stated I might have Auditory Processing issues. Ive never met a doctor so kind and truly interested in a a patient ever. About 30 years ago my ENT discovered that I had a cholesteoma and surgically removed most of my hearing mechanism in that ear, leaving what he called a crude reconstruction and an open eardrum, and about 30% of my hearing capacity in that ear. Having been a Marine marksman and artillery officer, the other ear wasn’t in the best shape either.Starting with one in-ear analog hearing aid (which actually made hearing worse) and going through several generations of digital devices and different audiologists, I finally found In Dr. Wynens an audiologist who took the time and effort to sort out and address my various issues, and supply me with the best available technology to improve my hearing as much as possible, and to follow up with outstanding service when I needed it.I have recommended her to several of my friends with hearing issues, and they have all been more than satisfied with both products and especially her caring service.

I called Dr. Wynens because Ive been having what I *think* is hidden hearing loss. Dr. Wynens called me personally and we talked on the phone through some of my symptoms.She gave me a couple of names of folks to check out that might be able to provide an accurate medical reporting.Dr. Wynens could have set an appointment, taken my co-pay and my insurance money, and Id be just as happy. Instead she took 15 minutes to discuss it on the phone, which saved us both time.If I ever need an audiologist, Ill be heading straight to Atlanta Hearing Doctor.

Several months ago I searched the web looking for hearing aids to replace the set I bought several years ago from Costco. These have been very satisfactory - except, when I am in a crowd with lots of background noise, its hard to understand what people around me are saying. Based on my research I decided to go with Oticon; Dr. Wynens handles this brand and her office is near me. I was impressed by her knowledge and personality from the start - based on her recommendation I elected to try the OPN-1 Minirite. After the trial period, during which Dr. Wynans worked patiently with me to set up the aids according to my needs, I finalized the purchase. So far I have been happy with both the hearing aids and Dr. Wynans . I highly recommend both.

I cannot adequately express what a positive experience we had with Dr. Wynens. My 94 year old mom has struggled with increasingly diminished hearing for years. She has had 3 different hearing aids with little hearing improvement. I found Dr. Wynens online; what a stroke of luck! After a thorough exam, she spoke to my mom about the extent of her hearing loss and patiently explained her options. While she mentioned the advantages of the higher end hearing aids, in no way did she push the more expensive options. Mom was fitted this week with the new hearing aids, and we were both amazed in the difference it made with her hearing. She feels that this is life changing for her. I am so very surprised by the positive comments about a, patient focused atmosphere. That appeared to be the case during my almost 90 year old mothers initial experience with Dr Wynan, but it has not been the focus since.My mother purchased 2 hearing aids- one recommended by Dr Wynan for an ear that was categorized as legally deaf. This was an expense my mother should not have incurred since the hearing aid for this ear has proved ineffectiveWhen we went to the follow/ up appointment & expressed concerns- Dr Wynans was rude and impatient with my advocacy for my mother, asking me if I was done? . Further when my mom asked her a follow-up question, Dr Wynans reply was, the answer is on the paper I gave her.So, patient focused- definitely during the sales process. After that however, you better not express a concern or question anything because the patience with patients & their advocates dissolves.

I have had my hearing aids for nearly 2 years.My initial experience with Dr. Wynens was excellent. She was very informative and made sure that I understood my hearing problems. I made a decision to get hearing aids she carefully explained my options and the technology behind the devices. I ended up with excellent hearing aids including a bluetooth device that allowed me to use them as my headset at my work place and also with cell phones.Just recently I had a mechanical problem with my hearing aids. After putting off taking care of the problem, I contacted Dr. Wynens by email. She immediately responded and determined exactly the problem. She order the parts. In less than a week, she eMailed me the replacement part had arrived and she made sure I was able to see her the same day. Problem is fixed.Excellent knowledge and communication.Update 5/18/17Again... after 5 years my devices failed. Really amazing considering the use and lack of care on my part. Dr. Wynens as always greeted me as a long lost friend. She explained the repair plan, which was acceptable to me. I have been wearing hearing aids for 43 years with several audiologists and my best experience has been with Dr. Wynens. I moved to Atlanta 2 years ago and was in desperate need of new hearing aids.
