These mechanics were fast, professional, and fair priced. My water pump went out, I had a defective motor mount that I knew for awhile needed replaced, some of my fan belts and radiator hoses were old and cracked. I came in and got all of that fixed. On a separate occasion, a motorist flagged me down in traffic and notified me that I had no brake lights, I pulled back into this mechanic shop and they quickly got my brake lights working again. Good job!

I was stranded in Auburn last week and Im from out of town heading to Grass Valley. I started calling auto shops and this place answered. I just want to say that they were so nice and professioal. I felt really well taken care of. They checked all my fluids and called me regarding every little thing. R & J would be my go-to shop if I lived in Auburn.. The diagnosis and prices were spot on. This is a great place that you can trust. I felt they pushed my car through and made me a priority because of my personal situation...I asked about that and they told me they were a week and a half out with many cars lined up before me. Steve was so easy to work with. Thank you Steve @ R & J for taking great care of me and my car and getting me back on the road. Truns out my water pump had gone out. They had me back on the road by 5pm the next day! They replaced my water pump, changed my oil, topped off all my fluids and replaced a light bulb that was out (the little things :) ) all for $319.

I am beyond thrilled with this place. They were thoughtful and honest. I took car in thinking the transmission was going out, so they could have easily lied but they said my transmission was fine. I paid $300 for repairs compared to $3k i thought i was going to have to pay.

R & J went above and beyond to repair a caliper on my Jeep when a bolt fell out lodging it against the inner wheel surface. It was several hours before the Jeepers Jamboree was scheduled in Georgetown, CA. The owner personally left for Napa Auto parts to find a matching bolt and I was ready to go in an hour or less. Thank you so much!

These guys are 5 star! Called them with an AC issue which I thought required rebuilding (see my Royal Auto review) and was short of time. Without me bringing the car in he looked up parts and put together a rough estimate which was right in line (few hundred less) than others. his ability to communicate what might be happening and what parts were involved impressed me. Brought the car over, he worked on getting a compressor and had the car for weeks but because its a Saturn the compressor was not available. On his own he cleaned and recharged the AC and got it working. Its been fine ever since and the charge was minimal. Not the friendliest place in town, or the prettiest, but take it from an engineer with almost 40 years experience. These guys are the best!

I have gone to R & J for about 2.5 years now. Every single interaction has been positive. The most recent interaction was great as always.I was hearing a noise from the right rear of the car. Alan diagnosed it as the wheel bearing and said if it were his car, he wouldnt spend the 400 bucks to fix it because its not a safety issue. He just charged me $25 bucks for the labor to diagnose and I was on my way.Not many shops out there will shoot straight like that. There are tons of options for car service in auburn but I will only go to R & J.

Alan is an honest buisnessman. My van was showing that I needed new spark plugs and possibly coils. It was running terrible with the engine lights ght flashing. When I dropped it off he let me know upfront that it could cost at the least $400 if I needed everything the codes were reading. Not much later he called to let me know that he had checked everything, driven the van and that it was running just fine. Somehow my van just fixed itself. The point is, he could have easily taken advantage of me and he didnt. He let me know that he wasnt finding anything wrong with it and didnt want to have me pay tons of money for work that he wasnt finding necessary. I will take my van to R and J from now on.

Honest, Affordable and Reliable work. Bring the guys a sandwich and some beer for the after hours because they deserve it. Great service here - very impressed - avoid your local stealership and try this place out. There is a reason they are working on cars all the time and never slow... They actually do good work and know what they are talking about.
