Tons of kayaks, canoes, and SUPs - had no problem finding what we needed. Very friendly staff who will help get you completely set up in only a few minutes at a great price. They even helped us with our roof rack free of charge after we returned our canoe. Highly recommend to anyone in the area!

Great place if youre in the market for a kayak. They have a large variety . New and used. Guy and the crew were very knowledgeable and provided excellent customer service. Not the most organized store but they wont hesitate to help you navigate through there . Would shop there again forsure.

Rented skiing equipment a while back and that is the only place. Great staff and knowledgeable. You cant beat the prices. They also have a good selection of ski attire as well as their outdoor inventory.

Purchased two new inflatable SUPs at a reasonable price, which also came with the added value of a discount on accessories. I would definitely go here again.

Fantastic experience overall . However be prepared to wait a lil bit for assistance bc theres a lot going on here. It is absolute controlled chaos. So many boats to choose from and all tge gear you could need. Guy also does trade in values for your used and new outdoor equipment. He is awesome and so is his staff !

We were on our way up to Donner Pass for some climbing and decided to do a quick stop for a guide book. Sierra outdoor Center was open earlier than any of the other stores offering climbing stuff. This place is primarily focused on water sports but they had the climbing guide we needed and, interestingly, most of their climbing stuff was used. The prices were okay, example 30 or 40 bucks for an old cam in good shape. They also had a large assortment of new and used car rack parts. The guys in there werent exactly smiley at 9 am but they were pretty busy trying to set a group up with kayaks.

A staple in the outdoor equipment world for over a quarter century. Lots of inventory, new and used racks for cars and trucks. Rental gear and more.

Worst experience I have ever had! Absolutely no resemblance of customer service. The ability to trade in boats for credit was what had allured me.However, Guy gave me multiple excuses, placed blame on multiple other places/individuals, ordered my boat late, when it did come he ordered the wrong one, tried to refuse to order the correct one... Fast forward 2 months of me having to call in, since they never actually would call me with any communication, I had to call the raft company directly.The raft company was great and will continue to have my business. I will not be doing any further business at Sierra outdoor center however,If you need to trade in a boat for the convenience, and he has what you want in stock, and never want to warranty something if it has a structural fault, then by all means go here.ABSOLUTELY DONT DO A ORDER THROUGH THEM!

Whitewater kayaks, lots of gear. Also owns snow mountain ski shop. New it was goi g to snow gave a great description of the farmers almanac. Excellent and professional staff. The owner Guy will spend his time with one if not busy. Resonable rates on all gear, paddles, clothing, life vests, books, professional expertise on rivers. GUY WILL HOOK YOU UP ON THE GRAND CANYON expedition with extraordinary guests. He will give advice to raft guides, usually has dynamic employees that will take you down different sections of the American river and other rivers. Expert snow ski employees. Expect paddle board, backpacks, wet suits, canoes, whitewater rafts to purchase or rent. He knows a lot so give him the ultimate respect and in return you will leave with superior knowledge.

The Sierra Outdoor Center houses some AMAZING characters and it is a great resource for whitewater activities. They were very helpful when we came to rent gear and boats. The staff is very honest and has a wealth of information. The owner Guy Cables is a very involved in the whitewater community, helps with river associated events, raising money for injured kayakers and has sponsored many boaters through out the years. We will definately come back. Thanks SOC!!!!

Great location, great selection of rafts, kayaks, lifejackets, helmets, paddles, shoes, ….you name it….i needed helmet for whitewater kayaking, Guy was there, helped me to select one….one year later, still using it, and love it….thank you..will come again…will recommend to a friend !
