Amazing and generous portions. Specifically came here to try a bit of everything because of other great reviews. This bakery and eatery did not disappoint. With authentic cuisine and flavors and family style service you wont go hungry. Staff takes time to answer any questions and is very helpful if its your first time in. If you are wanting their baked goods come early as the cut slices of cake were starting to dry out on the outer edges. Even with that aside the pastries and baked goods were divine. The variety and selection was great. Thank you for a wonderful feast.
I’ve been to the Cuban Bakery often for lunch. The food is ridiculously awesome! I’ve had both their Cuban sandwiches and hot-serve menu items and they are all very tasty! Be sure to pick your dessert while ordering your meal…the line can get a bit long due to the place’s high popularity and you probably don’t want to go through twice! I highly recommend this place! Update, just had the ox tails, which they only serve on Saturdays…the portion was huge and the tails so tender and tasty!!
I speak for my whole party when I say we are sad to live in Texas. If I lived out here I would be eating here frequently and definitely everyday for the coffee! I’m not even a coffee drinker. Beyond the amazing food and pastries, the staff is stellar. Super patient as I eyed everything like a kid in the candy store.
Public service review for anyone hesitant to try this place: do it! I have been here a couple times now and the food is consistently good. They have make your own plates with various meats, rices, if youre curious what they are just ask. They are very friendly and helpful. My favorite is the ropa vieja (shredded steak) and tostones ( fried, smashed plantain). I have also had the pollo guisado (stewed chicken) amazing! Now on to the pastries...things to try...any of the empanadas (fried pastry with meat filling), papas rellenas ( fried potato ball with meat filling) AND my all time favorite because they remind me of childhood the quesitos (cream cheese pastries) they have a nice and crunchy glaze on the outside and light flaky inside. Brought me back🥲 ¿okay que estas haciendo? ¡ vete y prueba lo! Much love from this Puerto Rican 🇵🇷
Really good food at exceptional prices. Got two meals out of an eight dollar Cubano sandwich. Friendly service despite the crowd.
The food is always good, if you havent tried any Cuban food you need to try this place.Ive been going there off a recommendation love the place.
I love the food and the atmosphere! Myself and everyone I work with love this place. From the primary meals to the deserts pretty much everything has been delicious.I would have given 5 stars but I cant look at their menu online other than pics of the menu. If this place stepped up their online game I think they would be unstoppable.Love the food...dislike having to go on an easter egg hunt for information.
I just finished eating here and oh my God... Delicious doesnt describe this food... My wife and I are visiting from Florida and not even in Florida we have tasted anything so delicious. Highly recommend this place. And the lady who took our order was very friendly and helpful. You should open a place in Florida.
Good food, good prices! We especially enjoyed the Cuban sandwich! Yummy.
Oh JEEZ! What a tucked away gem! There is no way to spot this place from the road but once you step inside, this is such a cool place! First off, I love the pics/photos on the wall. I love the swag and memorabilia too. The ladies handling the front are just terrific - nice, kind, helpful. First thing you want to do is peruse the display cases - oh the treats youll see! Take a number and step up to the counter to order from the main menu. Just deciding on the main dish and sides can be a practice in indecisiveness as everything looks good. For my first visit, I got the Cubano - it really is a foot-long sammy with a crispy crusted flat loaf that is just perfect. Anyway, if youre in the mood, make the trip and enjoy some good cookin!
This place is so tasty! The rice and beans, ANY of the meats, and I can never choose between the salty plantains or the sweet plantains because theyre both so good. I didnt know I liked Cuban food until I came here. Be sure to get plenty of the beautiful pastries for later. The cheese filled pastries are my favorite.
Man the serving sizes are amazing for sure. Very fast service also and (the most important) the food is great. They have a menu with sandwiches and such but the good stuff is served cafeteria style. You will not see the daily options on the menu that is on the wall, just ask what they have that day. I got the pork meal with sweet plantains and yellow rice. They had 4 or 5 main dish choices & you pice 2 of the 5 or 6 sides to make up your meal. My wife got the chicken stew and that had a full 1/2 chicken in it with the sides. Huge meal! I got more pork then I could finish in 3 meals... dinner and lunch the next day :-)
I love the dishes and the bakery that themMake including the delicious empanadas
First time visiting, but I will absolutely be going back. The food was insanely good and what a selection. Note to the wise, their sandwiches can feed a small army, so come prepared
Would love to be able to give the place a zero rating much like I would love to be able to tell you about the quality of the food and drink. All I wanted and was looking forward to was trying some guava pastries and a cortadito but wasnt about to wait another 10 minutes making no progress in the line(s) that were/were not there. The place seemed popular enough but there was no real rhyme or reason to it once everyone started packing in. You can bet everyone that was being served was chatting it up though. Maybe thats a part of the shop culture which fine, cool but if you value more orderly and efficient service miss this place entirely. Also they have a sign behind the counter that says something along the lines of you dont have to be Cuban to be in love with us. Well I can assure you that after the experience I had visiting today I am neither one of those.
Stopped by on Saturday and the place was packed with people from all walks of life. They have plate lunch, baked goods (savory and sweet) and deep fried goodies. We got the oxtail plate lunch with rice and plantains. It was deliciously porky. Also grabbed some empanadas, yuca beef balls and cortadito coffee. Do not walk, RUN here.
Ive never had bad service here, they are always friendly and the food is great. I normally just stop in for some cafe con leche and croquettas, but I tried the lunch today and it was great. Huge portions! You must try a pastry if you go here, there are so many to choose from and they are all so delicious!
Always amazing food and bakery items, best little Cuban restaurant you will find outside of Miami or even Cuba itself!
This place is absolutely delicious soul food if i could give it 10 stars i would. i go here for the food, hefty amount for the price. menu differs through out the week and the bake goods are worth the drive itself.
The food here is absolutely amazing. I had been searching for an authentic delicious cuban sandwich since I moved back from Florida and finally found it here. Their pastries and coffee are delicious too.
You know Ive lived here forever and never saw this place and I walked in and I was just shocked the pastries were amazing and I cant wait to go back and try the hot food.
Literally the best Cuban food and coffee Ive had in Colorado. The staff is also super friendly.
The food was good. The baked goods were amazing. Ill certainly be returning AFTER covid is over. The owner/manager wore no mask, some staff were not wearing them, and most of the customers didnt have one and were trying to see in the case and crammed next to each other. With the covid rates currently happening this place is asking to spread the virus. Baked goods were good but not worth catching a virus due to unhelpful management and risky customers.
This spot is really close to my apartment. Had to check it out and have so far been here twice. I loved everything I’ve had here! I still need to have the breakfast sandwich and Cuban lunch sandwiches, but the empanadas and coffee are amazing here. I am for sure going to have this be a spot to have friends and family try anytime they visit because it’s so close and some of the best food I’ve had here in Colorado. You guys are awesome! Keep up the great work.
Awesome Cuban food. Try the El Cubano. Traditional Cuban sandwich.
The pastries and sweets are great, just like what you’d expect from a Cuban bakery! My only complaint is the Cuban Bread just not quite right. I bought a “fresh” loaf of Cuban Bread and it was hard as a rock. As someone who grew up in Miami, I was just really disappointed in the quality of the bread. FYI, fresh Cuban bread should be soft, flaky and a little sweet, it shouldn’t harden up for at least 2-3 days.Edit: See now you’ve made the mistake of assuming that I’m not Cuban and don’t know what I’m taking about. Yes Cuban bread has a crunchy shell, but it’s supposed to be soft on the inside. And I said a little sweet, not buckets of sugar like you seem to think I prefer, because that’s how it’s supposed to be. A LITTLE sweet, as in it will add to the flavor of a sandwich or something. You know, because traditional Cuban Bread is made using a sugar cane or palm leaf soaked I. Sugar water to help split the seam of the bread as its cooking. But since you’ve decided I don’t know what I’m talking about I’ll get a bit more technical. As a Cuban, I find what you call Cuban Bread to be a close but poor imitation of what I and my family have come to expect in Cuban bread. For one thing, if I buy a fresh loaf of bread from your bakery, it shouldn’t turn into a brick of dough by that same evening. The loaf I bought from your bakery was hard as a rock the moment it was handed to me. It was in no way soft or flaky, it was so hard it couldn’t be used for a sandwich and I ended up tossing it out the next day. The reason I’m upset about how hard the bread is, is because we use how soft the bread is to determine how fresh it is. You can tell when Cuban Bread is even a day old because it completely changes the texture of the bread. The bread itself has a off-grey tint to it, which I’ve never seen in Cuban Bread in 30 years, because it’s supposed to be a golden yellow color. The taste of the bread is just not quite right and while not bad, it’s not what Cubans expect. I was going to leave it at the original simple review of a little disappointed but hopeful for the future, but I take it that this place isn’t interested in improving after your response. Maybe learn to take a little criticism rather than accusing the reviewer of being Americanized? I mean I could say the same for your bakery, the difference is plain as day to any Cuban.
Amazing oxtails and rice! Everything looked amazing. Will definitely go back!
I visited this place with my family the food was great but the customer service from that girl with curly hair was horrible, but 5 stars to the owners for doing this great food, hope they talk to that girl so she can learn some good work ethics
The food here is all straight fire! Didnt get a chance to try the baked goods but I will be back for some of the best looking pastries Ive EVER seen.
Best place Ive been so far in Denver, friendly staff, reasonable prices
If the line outside doesn’t tell you, this place is the real thing. I have been sorely missing Cuban food since moving to Denver from Florida, but the search is over. This is easily the best Cuban place around. The Cuban sandwich was gigantic and delicious, and the Empanadas were crispy and full. I highly recommend this hidden gem.
Everything about this place is amazing. You might have to wait a minute, but youre getting fresh, delicious food, and its so worth it.Havana sandwich is one of the best Ive ever had. And all the bread is just top notch.
Always great food. One suggestion is that I wish the coffee taste was consistent, older employees just know how to make it perfect
Best Cuban sandwich Ive ever had!!! Everything was so fresh and I wanted to try everything! You have to go in to really see all the yummy foods they have. The staff is so friendly and helpful! I found my new favorite place!!!
I lived in Tampa for 20+ years. Tampa is known to be one of the biggest Cuban cultural places in the US (bigger than Miami). Cuban sandwich popularized there before anywhere else.Their cuban sandwich? Pretty ducking authentic. No. It is authentic. Succulent with that perfect flakiness for the cubano bread. I would know because my family business use to order from an authentic family Cuban bakery (those guys would work tirelessly from 3am - 5pm).And their bakery. Holy moly. Guava and cheese might sound disgusting. But, my god, it is a disgustingly DELICIOUS morsel. One of my favorites. I havent found a bad pastry yet to try there. And there are soo many options to choose from. Flaky, sweet, delectable. Literally cant go wrong with anything.Havent tried any of their other meal/entrees but I do see locals getting them so they must be good.Staff are kind people. Their kindness and generosity fills the room. That and the delicious aroma of the food makes it quite addictive.
I love the food. Sometimes the helpers are little fussy but at the end they do their job. Amazing dedos de queso, desserts and the food is amazing. Thanks for bringing a piece of Cuba to Colorado! :)
Food is just super delicious!!! And their pastries are out of this world 🤤🤤🤤
For the price, this is the best cuban food youre likely to find in the Denver metro area. Im partial to the Havana sandwich and cafe con leche, personally, but Ive never had a pastry or plate from here I didnt like. The hame croquettes and guava pastries are more good examples. The staff is always very friendly, and everyone Ive spoken to is bilingual, so you can order in English or Spanish according to what youre comfortable with. The prices are also very reasonable.
Everything there is amazing! I go for the coffee, pastries, breakfast and lunch food. staff is awesome too!
Best cubano I’ve ever had! Definitely worth the drive from denver
Very nice place. Authentic food. Big selection of pastries and sweets. Highly reccomend.
Have NEVER been disappointed when I go here. Everything is top tier!
I love this place. Food is usually really good. As close to home( eastside) as Ive come
Cuban Bakery has easily become one of my favorite lunch spots. I can proudly say that Ive tired every last sandwich they have and I fight internally to pick a favorite but I would have to say it lies somewhere in between the Cubano and the Pan con Lechon. My next dish here will be the wide array of food on the steam table. From Ropa vieja to Yuca and Arroz con Frejoles. I cant wait !
Incredible...friendly, efficient, takes care of a lot of people quickly.Very special
I havnt tried the pastries or sweets cause Im not a sweets person but the FOOD was freaking delicious and I got enough to feed four for like $11.40. Rice was good and meat was tender and flavorful. My only complaint would be I wish they stayed open later so I can access their food more often :)
Busy, but I can see why. This bakery was incredible. Great service and literally fresh baked goods. I recommend the guava pastry but everything is amazing.
I love this place and discovered it when Buchi on 38th closed. The sandwiches are on-point and the a la carte meal items are well prepared and delicious. Im not a dessert guy but they have an enormous selection and Im sure they are great. it would be nice if they brought back fries.
Brings me back to Miami! Their food tastes just like my family makes it.
The only true authentic Cuban food, definitely 4 thumbs up 👍 👍👍👍
This place is a pure gem; it is delicious, the portions are generous, and the service is exceptional. Highly recommend ordering a plate to go and sharing it with someone you love. Pro tip: get the plantains there are perfect.
For a special occasion to feed family or friends the price is amazing for how much food you can get. Everything is delicious and they have so many options to choose from in empanadas alone! Did I mention the desserts; they have, cookies, pie, cake, flan just to name a few. Everyone is kind and there is good music playing to top off the experience. If you havent been here yet, what are you waiting for?
As someone who frequented this bakery, I will NOT be back. Went in today and got 2 slices of cake, a chocolate slice and an Oreo slice(something I order regularly.) Both of them were DISGUSTING. 1 bite into each slice and you could instantly tell that the slices had been sitting in that display for DAYS. The chocolate slice was rock hard and completely inedible and the Oreo slice literally tasted moldy. I even had my husband taste and Ive never seen him gag and spit something out so quick. How they are okay with serving that to their customers is beyond me. As a business owner myself, I do everything in my power to make sure product is quality and fresh. There is no way I would be okay with serving something like this out to the public. So disappointed.
¡Auténtico! The place, the food and the service is like being back to a panadería y repostería cubana in Puerto Rico. Awesome flavor with Cuban care!
This place is awesome. The food is so good, and they have a huge selection of tasty bakery items!
This Florida girl loved the food and the prices. I had the arroz con pollo (chicken and yellow rice), and it was delicious! Come prepared for large portions
The only authentic Cuban spot in Denver. Dont go anywhere else.
Love this place! The pastries are delicious, the sandwiches are awesome, and their lunch plates are piled high with amazing food. I recommend this place to everyone!
Wish I could give them 10 stars! Been going here for years, reminds me of bakeries in Miami. Spinach pastry, coconut, guava pastries, quatro leche-all winners! They have delicious sandwiches and a fantastic hot bar. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Authentic as it gets in Colorado! Family owned, traditional cuban treats. Crocettes are phenomenal. Everything is home-made and spectacular. Just visit already!
Excellent food, Quick service. The ladies that work there are always polite and happy to take your order. My family wishes they were closer to home so we can go more often. 😀
Great food and staff, you cant go wrong!
I came in and ordered a Cubano Sandwitch and it was delicious. The customer service is absolutely amazing and was greeted with such a sincere welcome. I love the music that plays inside the restaurant and everything from the desert to the baked goods all look so dang appetizing no matter what time of the day it is.I highly recommend this place for lunch and dinner.
Probably the best sandwich I’ve had in recent memory. The pork sandwich with lechón is incredible. Can’t stop thinking about it.
This fantastic bakery & cafe serves delicious sandwiches, entrees, empanadas and the most amazing selection of desserts. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Go hungry and order some items to go for later or youll wish that you had. This is one of the metro areas finest treasures and a must visit!
It was great! A little slow but not bad.
Best bakery on east side of Denver! Feels, tastes, and the atmosphere is super authentic. Honestly it reminds me of moms cooking. Delicious and nutritious. Everyone I take is taken back with how good this place is. You can order anything and expect an explosion of flavor and history in every bite. Cant go wrong with cuban food. Havent been to another one that holds a candle to this one so far in CO as of 2020-2021. Siguen haciendo la mejor jama! Estan volao!
They always have freshly made dishes. Really like the Havana & Cuban Sandwiches. All sweet bread pastries with side of cafe con leche is great treat.
Some of the best food in town period! Love this place.
Just yes. Food was great and the baked goods were sooooo good. It’s counter service if you eat there, but we will be back for sure!
Service is great and tasteful food
Please check them out. They have the best EVERYTHING to offer. I Love The Oxtails they offer only on Saturday.
We love the pastries.
Love it very much. Great food.
The staff was SUPER nice and the food is delicious. I would definitely recommend to anyone in the area looking for a new place to eat. We ordered 5 different things and all of them were amazing.
Delicious food, great portions, awesome service.
2nd visit.Same consistency..Food was authentic and very good.Empanadas and Pastries were excellent..Oxtails only on SaturdayBig and Tender..The place stays crowded..Good sign of good food.NOBL1
Came back from Miami last night and the craving is strong. Im so happy for the place being in my neighborhood.
Have frequented this business many times. All of the food is deliciously authentic and the pastries are amazing.
Get the Cuban Sandwich and you wont be disappointed. Absolutely amazing food. Definitely a busy place so try to beat the lunch rush. The pastries and catering style food trays look phenomenal too.
Went there today 4-29-2021 to buy a empanada and some desserts went there about 3:30 walked in and stood in front of the case for probably 4 minutes. There were 4 to 5 women behind the counter a girl walked in and she was waited on that hit a nerve. And there deserts being put in the case not one of them ask if I need some help. Maybe if I would of started dancing on a table maybe I would of got some service. Piss poor customer service
