Prices are up 400-800% since the pandemic. Sales are all canceled. I am no longer going to be a patron. There are other yards in town. To be clear this is an issue with the C suite people trying to pull max profits out of the yard. Charging core on plastic parts, no more used washer fluid, packing more cars on the yard. Used to be a great yard with great prices and 2 40% off sales a year that were also great. I always felt like I got a good deal at check out. This last visit I had it all itemized at checkout and could only laugh and leave. That was the last hour of mine I will invest in this yard. They wanted over retail for a set of springs. ($25+/ea) A year and a half ago I picked a pair of springs up for $8.
Some parts are worth buying, others not so much. I hate that its a hilly yard. The cars Im interested in are always on the hill. Its a pita when its muddy. I come from Dallas and its usually worth the trouble for me. Watch out for the warranty they include in price, tell them you dont want it. Unless you need it of course. Standard warranty is good for 30 days.
Great place to get a part for ur vehicle. Just wish I knew if they had my part. We went thru 5 vehicles and none had what I needed. Wish they knew in advance but its still cool place to scavenge hunt!
I was in complete awe at how this company does business. I reached out to sell them my car. They got back to me within 24 hours. So patient with me responding to their inquiries as I was working. They do offer to come and tow your vechile if it is not working which I did. There is a fee depending on distance which is understandable. I agreed to the offer and pick up. Within 2 days my vechile was gone and sold to them. The process was smoother than I would have thought. The gentlemen picking up my car was friendly and cracked a few jokes. If I need to sell off my vechile in the future this company will be my go to.
Wonderful automotive recycling center. Enormous amount of older and newer models alike. Perfect place to keep your old hoopty running for very cheap or to keep your daily looking clean. Staff are always friendly for what they deal with.
Thats a good place to make good deals, not on everything but most parts are at good pricesWhole engine are to hard to remove and no infos on mileage the price is expensive too compare to some others companies that ship engine to any destinationBut overall its a good experience and stuff are professional
One stop, got everything i was looking for, and reasonably priced.
Very hot and lkq should offer free water to prevent heat stroke and it would improve costumer apreaciation overall and prevent issues overall
I love that place the workers are very nice and their cars are very well organized. it is hot AF though so keep that in mind there is not one tree for shade 9 to 5 LOL
Awesome place they have a huge selection of cars I went to every auto parts store that I could find and none of them had these bolts that I was looking for and LKQ did. The staff is also really nice and friendly.
Pretty huge place with friendly employees and a wide selection of vehicles. I would have given a 5th star if the vehicles were grouped with any kind of organization. Theyre all mixed together which makes searching tedious, frustrating, and time consuming. If there was a Euro section / American section / Japanese section / truck & van section, it would be much better for the customers.
Easy & affordable I found my car part for a fraction of purchasing on line.
I have a very good experience with them special there staff, there are very helpful. But only complaint is with there computer system updates or some time its offline or network issues, most often system showing you there is car/truck available & its online as well but after long hunt physical its not available.Second most common problem they need to be more organized and systematically put cars/ trucks . Normally they mixed cars .hopefully you enjoy this and guys let me tell you one more thing they offer 30day free warranty on parts. Thanks for reading.
I had ran something over on I-35 lastnight, not knowing or seeing what it was. It damaged my driver front chrome rim. Retail price for this rim is 319$ brand new for one! LKQ had exactly everything i was looking for. I got a PAIR of both rim and tires for a good price and in great condition! All i need to do is wash, rinse and polish the chrome. Just about the same condition as my other 3 on the vehicle. Easy to locate, just need your tools and some work to take the parts you need. Was there for about an hour tops and was my first experience with any junk yard ever. I strongly recommend them.
Great service at great prices highly recommend
LKQ had everything that I was looking for. Im definitely going back because of how cheap the prices are.
Not very organized but had what I needed. Thats whats important. Thank god saved me.
Love this place. Super easy to search on their site for inventory.
Dont like that you have to pay entry fee $3 just to buy a tire.
Lot of cars. Good customer service. Lot of help from staff.
Best staff and prices in town! Go there first before anywhere else! I got a whole bunch of trim and other parts for less than $60. The other places nickel and dime you to death and I end up paying twice as much.
Very unorganized you waste more time looking for the vehicles to find out they are already stripped of usable parts.
Not too shabby, but their knowledge of their inventory isnt very good. All of their trucks are grouped into one section as opposed to separated by manufacturer. Be careful pulling parts, as they set the vehicle on rims, one in front, and one on back. Some of the cars had toppled over. They have a decent surplus of dodge truck, but all others are slim pickins. Hope this helps, and please be careful, its pretty risky to pull parts from under the vehicle.
I called this place 20 minutes before they closed. The person who answered the phone said it was too close to closing time and to call back on Monday. I said “it’s 20 minutes before closing. Im about to spend a significant amount of money. You can’t tell me how many miles are on the engine I’m buying?” The Hispanic guy who answered just said “call back Monday” and hung up in my face. It’s still before closing time and I had time to leave a review but you couldn’t tell me one sentence? I’ll be shopping elsewhere. Completely unacceptable. My money will not be going to you.
Horrible customer service. Power tripping manager. Dumb ratchet employees.
Well yeah everything they got still working on three cars I have gotten all the parts that I need again thanks guys
Nice people but this place is so piss poor in terms of layout. I used to go to the one in Nashville, TN. They have an actual building with restrooms. Vending machines. A clearly mapped out area with rows and numbers to find what vehicle you look for. This place looks like a yard sale and one portapotty. I was under the impression that a corporate run place would have some consistency in their stores. Nope. Nashville: 10. Austin: 0. Go someplace else if you might have to pee.
Horrible people working there. Trash people. The manager, the salesman, etc.
Friendly and helpful staff. Vehicles well organized. Having the exact location in the line is really helpful and saves time.
Good prices.Good variety of inventory. My go to place for Parts!!!
Great place for car parts.
Good inventory fair price and most important very honest people they found my tool bag after few days . Thank you I really appreciate you all.
Told me I couldnt pay for my items I had to part out because it was too late after they closed. Yet they waited for me just 20 minutes after 5 and there was the Cashier there but didnt let me pay. Everything is picked out here. Good luck finding anything and getting a friendly experience
Love this place. Always able to find the random weird plug Im looking for to keep my 90s car rolling. The staff always knows the layout and can work with you on pricing. Keep up the good work.
Watch out for these people. Made all the proper arrangements on the phone prior to selling them a car and was as clear and honest as I could be about the condition of the vehicle. When the driver arrived to pick up the car he said it was worth $100 less than what I was quoted over the phone because it doesnt run. I was very clear that it had engine trouble, if not I would have driven it there myself. Its a scam.
Very friendly staff and I found the part I needed and you cant beat the price I will for sure be going back
I have been picking my parts from Austin salvage yards since the 80s. Although this location is the worst. It was a Sunday afternoon and I arrived at aboutv3 . They closed at 4 but hours online and website say 5. I pulled my parts was told they were closed and I couldnt purchase them and then was forced to open my bags and then have my broken trim parts taken from me where I was then yelled at and forced to leave my parts and have a wheelbarrow break and sprain my ankle no one helpede up and still no one from lkq Corp has called me back after several attempts to report this issue. Unfriendly, unprofessional and most importantly thiefs. My recommendation
Not good no help what so ever an rude. I had to put one star cause it wont let me post with out rating
Easy access and helpful staff
Needed a transmission. They pulled for me. Sent it. When i got it i find out they sent the wrong transmission. Called them and told them i no longer wanted to deal with them cause not only was it wrong but it was alk beat to hell and i didnt trust them. They then refunded only half my money. They kept the other half. They stole my money and ill never deal with this company again.
If you dont mind looking around a little bit you will find almost any part imaginable. By going up to the front and telling them what part youre looking for they can even tell you exactly where each of the places are where you can find a vehicle that may have the part youre needing
I’m 65 and retired and have dealt with literally thousands of counterparties. The lady responsible for ensuring that the transaction is complete - they have your car and you have your money - is the worst example of a counterparty I ever encountered in business, by a long shot. Her boss backed her up and told me easily-verifiable lies. I’m in the process of going over their heads.
Staff was really nice and very helpful. My wife and I had a great Sunday rummaging around the junk yard looking for a tire. Id love to say well definitely be back, but hopefully we dont need to anytime soon.
Great selection of Grand Cherokees and great prices as well. I even found an old DJ5 there and grabbed the dual horns off of that. Huge yard and cheap entry fee. Took one of their homemade wheelbarrows and, though heavy, it made a great workbench for my toolbox and held everything from the grill insert to horns
Lots of water, but clean, not enough 90s trucks but still a lot closer to home.
It was great I just spent all my money.so thanks Google for telling on me once again. Maybe next time Im Gone you could should and most definitely find some business of your. So Im changing my default to incognito your out of there google
Friendly but you have to be friendly first. Keep a smile on your face and politeness goes a long way here. Be persistent and you will get some help/advice.Better organized than most salvage yards. Good selection.Make friends with a manager for better pricing and help.
Not well organized, yard not maintained, parts thrown out everywhere to be weathered instead of left in vehicles to offer some protection, bottom of the barrel vehicles that should go straight to scrap instead of salvaged. Only plus is a better customer parking lot than most yards, but that doesnt help you when you are looking for parts. Cant speak on the prices since there was nothing salvageable for any of my projects even though matching vehicles were recently taken in. Important to note that the vehicles were not already scavenged, but just trash from the beginning.
I purchased car door and some other stuff before my transaction I ask can I return parts if doesn’t fit at Houston location I was told yes now I’m at the Houston northville location and was told I can’t return it and now I’m calling the number on the receipt and it’s fake how professional is that for business place
Its a wrecking yard, man. If you want to know if they have a certain make and model, call. If you want to know if they have a certain part for that make and model, go look for yourself. Its common sense people. I give it four stars because the place is well organized and when they tell me a grid location for a car its there. Two downsides: you have to pay to get in, and you cannot drive onto the lot its all on foot. Overall decent place and they offer a 30 day warranty on parts which I have never seen at a yard. Pretty awesome!
Friendly service and great prices!
All in all a disappointing and disrepectful experience. I will be going to Wrench a part from now on exclusively. They do not disclose on their website, or on their voicemail, that one has to be there 40 minutes before their posted closing time or they will not admit. I spent over $20 on a ride in rush hour traffic after work to get a part I needed, but since I got there are 5:30, I was not admitted despite them supposedly being open until 6!Then the guy got my hopes up that he would admit me when I told him I just needed one ignition coil and I knew where the vehicle was. After wasting precious time asking me a bunch if questions like that, he turned over the admission duties to another lady who was very curt and told me to leave.
Awful customer service and if you ask for info they tell you to go in person and look for yourself nothing like wrench a part. Wrench a part is polite and when you call they know all the info so when you go you know the part you looking for is there not like lkq
First time visiting, we tend to hit wrench a part. Definitely coming back. Better selection and prices hands down. Also! Ladies get free admission Sundays.
This is only one of two salvage yards Ive ever been to, and unfortunately they didnt have what I needed, but everyone who worked there was helpful and welcoming. All the cars are pretty well organized and lifted up off the ground.
Knowledgeable and helpful staff I found what I was looking for !They guided me with the map and instructionsI found vehicles are mostly well organizedThey have the most of every other kind & type of cars and trucks !I highly recommend shopping there earlyDuring the first hours of opening you’ll have higher chances of finding your parts !Also I recommend using the website you can sign up for parts alerts and free mission!👍🏻
Tracey is awesome! Always willing to help me figure it out! Low prices and delivery, cant beat it!
A great place
These people scammed my sister, making her overpay for a part, after they hit on her very inappropriately, and they also stole our milk crate. They didnt have enough carts, so I had to carry a van door all the way to the front of the lot. The only reason youre going to them is because they are close to town. Take my word for it, its worth the drive to a different establishment.
First of all you must understand this part of lkq is self serve. Which means bRING your own tools, knowledge, and help. It will cost $3 admission which is nothing compared to the cash you save. They have a very good selection of all makes and models. And if you check out the website before you go you can find the cars location within the yard before you get there SAVING you time and frustration. So if you want to save allot of money and you dont mind getting dirty.. This is the place. No matter what you need from replacement nuts and bolts, interior parts, or a engine or transmission. The price is rite and you get a 30 day warranty at no charge. The staff is pretty helpful for a self serve yard. Its most definitely a unique experience. Put on some old clothes, do some research and grab those tools and... PICK YOUR PARTS!
I didnt like the cover charge Im paying for the parts, dont understand what is the cover charge for. It has just about every type of vehicle you can imagine, from the 60s to now. Prices are good on most things, kinda high on there tires. I was quoted 38$ for a spare tire!!?? Well I like the place and will be back alot more.😂 I try to go at least once a week
So, the people who left the negative reviews obviously dont understand how this place works. LKQ Pick and Pull is the auto parts version of ROSS clothing store. Could you imagine calling ROSS asking if they had a specific shirt? They would hang up on you too. They cant keep inventory because you pull the parts your self. Someone might need a power steering pump and have to pull an alternator to get to it. They arent going to waste time reinstalling that alternator so it is tossed somewhere. Could you imagine trying to keep inventory of that? The parts are extremely cheap because while nothing is guaranteed, it is all warrantied. That means you might spend a few hours pulling an engine that doesnt actually work. If it does, you get it for the $100-$200 dollar range though. Totally worth it of you ask me considering a remanufactured is $1600+. You might waste a Saturday or two and some gas money but all in all I love this place!*Totally neatened the place up too. It is the best looking salvage yard I have seen. It is clean which isnt in any way expected from a salvage yard.*
Im all for a good discount. My experience with this place has been really good. Experiencing pulling your own part makes it all that more enjoyable.
I just wanted a souvenir, found it right away! They have a wide variety of vechicles. I would recommend coming here for your spare parts and dont forget to bring your tools! Thank-you.
They had what we needed it was easy to get 2
Its great! It has all the parts I need and really great prices and great customer service. Get your parts here guys
Everyone is always super friendly, and very helpful. They have a great selection of vehicles and are always getting new inventory
Great return policy, staff are welcoming with the exception of the older guy at the entrance he is annoying. The Online inventory is accurate for the most part and pricing is not treble. I would definitely come back.
Very friendly.. great place for parts. Cheaper then the rest. And most of all better customer service..
Call for a little bit of information and the rude guy named Steve was not only rude but went out of his way to belittle me on every question I had. Usually when I call a lady name Jennifer answer and is always real friendly helpful. Hopefully they can get an online inventory so I can to get the answers I need without being ridiculed.
Working on a friends car(2005 Nissan Altima) plenty of parts available. Very friendly staff. Only gripe I had was we needed a door to open all the way to remove a fender and couldnt cause the cars were to close together. But we found another one.
Got a good deal on a wheel here recently. They are a we got what we got operation. They know when cars arrived and where they are. Anything beyond that is up to you. Bit of a gamble. But worth a trip with what you save.
Great service. The people there are really friendly and helpful!
LKQ IS THE BEST SALVAGE YARD IN AUSTIN😎!!! THE WORKERS ARE LIKE FAMILY 😁AND THEY ALWAYS HAVE THE BEST PRICES ON PARTS. ALSO THEY ARE SOLD WITH A 30 DAY WARRANTY....UNLIKE OTHER JUNKYARD THAT MAKE YOU BUY ONE😑
My goto place for car parts I cant find anywhere else.
They are so rude! No need to be rude before you even enter. I could understand if I had asked a question or pissed them off but hadnt even entered the place. And you could explain in a nice way to new costomers.
Great part yard. They have weekend specials you can sign up for also. All those whining about customer service obviously havent been to a bad parts yard. LKQ is very well organized, everyone was very helpful and polite.
I love this place I go there when I need something for my 97 Eddie Bauer Expedition its cheaper than a auto parts store and the staff is friendly and courteous
This place is the greatest!! Ive spent 100 dollars and Ive replaced what would have cost me over 1000 at MB. Took a while for them to get an 05 ML350 but the wait was worth it! Thumbs up to LKQ PYP.
Once again the website doesnt reflect what vehicles are actually in there yard, this is the 3rd failure so far, atleast this time I got my entry fee returned
The junkyard itself is excellent. Very clean and orderly, of all things. The 3-star rating is because I made the mistake of calling ahead to ask a basic, general question (do the cars still have rims on them, or do yall do something separately with rims in good condition?). RUDE AS F***. The first time I got hung up on, then I called back and was abruptly put on hold with no warning. So for a good experience, DONT call ahead, just go down there.
Great place to get that hard to find part or just wonder around looking at the guts of various vehicles. Though customer safety is overlooked at times. Example; a Subaru I was under getting a part off of was being held up on one side by the emergency tire jack while balancing on the edge of an alloy GM rim instead of using those welded steel wheel jack stand thing. Didnt notice it until mid way through my operation. I dragged a nearby jack stand for support just in case. Brought it up with the dude up front, but didnt seem to care much.... so watch out for the subaru on row I. Shes a sleeping death trap. Also an ambulance they had there didnt get thourly checked out as I found syringes and vials of morphine. I did enjoy playing with all the switches though. OH! Good pricing here on parts too.
Capital City Imports was a great junkyard. Then lkq had to come along like Obama and take it over and now the place sucks! Capital City was totally organized they had a lot of parts already pulled and organized on the shelf ready to buy! lkq has effectively ruined the best import junkyard in Austin! I wish they would get the hell out and let somebody else MAKE THAT JUNKYARD GREAT AGAIN! VOTE TRUMP!
Easy to find car. Great customer service
Great place to find all kinds of car parts! We found all the parts we needed! Workers are friendly and very helpful!
Terrible customer service. Hung up in my face.
Didnt had a part an they ober sold me some talgate lift supports
Awesome place. Had exactly what I was looking for at a good price and was very quick about pulling the part. Thanks!
I was purchasing a distributor they told me $28 when I come back to buy it they charged me $10 more when I asked why the lady at the counter gave me the worse attitude ever was being completely rude so I said never mind left I talked to another employee there he said he can do it for $28 so I went to buy it and it was broken all on the ground where the lady at the front counter threw it on the ground! Dont go there not worth your time
Great junkyard, almost all the negative reviews have to do with calling to ask about parts. The junkyard does not inventory their parts, only the cars. Do you really expect them to look at every car and keep track of every single part on each car? Its $2 to get in. Go there, find your car, they will help you by telling you where it is, and see for yourself if they have it. Its a SELF SERVICE automobile scrapyard, not Autozone. I love this place. Best place within 50 miles to get cheap parts for my racecar.
Great place to get used parts. Im pretty sure the tools I bought cost more than the parts I pulled.
Nice place fair prices but there website isnt very accurate
Everyone was helpful and nice. We got every thing we needed to fix our truck and at a super nice price ! Thanks LKQ !
This place is where cars get recycled. Bring your own tools and pick your parts. Fair prices.
Best prices
Really nice place prices are good even though it was my first time at a scrap yard so Im not sure what other prices are at different places only thing I didnt really like is the place had parts and tires in your way in the asles but other than that staff was really good overall the place was good 👍
Best do-it-yourself place ever for used auto parts. Excellent prices.
Good workers and huge inventory
