I am the biggest food critic! But for the first time ever, I have not one critique! So this is actually my first time to leave a review about anything EVER! First things first, vibes are everything! Tucked away and quaint with outdoor seating, very chic! And the service! Best I’ve had in a long time! They actually give off the impression that they genuinely love their jobs and their customers! The cashier made me even more excited to eat there because she was that enthused about what they were serving (but not in a creepy and over the top kind of excited 😆) Now on to the food and drinks, compliments to the chef because I’m hard to please and SOMETHING always could have been better. Wait! I actually do have ONE minor inconvenience… there could be a “Cenote” closer to the Beaumont, Tx area 🤣🤷🏻♀️😁
Finding a good gluten free sandwich can be difficult. If you find yourself in downtown Austin, you can get a variety of quick, delicious sandwiches here! (Regular or gluten-free.) I had the half sandwich and soup of the day combo which did not disappoint. Cenote supports local businesses as well. Highly recommended!
Great local coffee shop that has amazingly tasty and large portions of food and the coffee is reasonably priced. They also have beer and wine, happy hour, and buy one get one free hamburgers on Thursday. Plenty of outdoor seating and dog friendly. We love this place!
The person taking my order was emotionless. Not just to me but he was so disconnected to all the folks in line it was as if he forgot that he was serving humans. Guy with a ponytail and glasses.Theres a sign at the register that says Dont be that guy. No use of phones while ordering. Which is fine by me but seeing as ponytail glasses guy felt it more important to be texting on his phone than getting the woman in front mes order, I am at a loss for words.Next was the bathroom that smelled like a port-a-john that hadnt been cleaned in 7 days and looked as you see in this photo.Followed up by mediocre espresso in a bitter golden milk latte.
One of my favorite spots. Food has suffered a little during Covid but I’m hoping it’ll come back to normal soon. Their tacos are really good as is their veggie burger!
Delicious brunch food in East Austin at reasonable prices in a great atmosphere that’ll suit any breakfast food lover! The eggs Benedict here is delicious and they also have good iced coffee that is all sold at a good price for the amount of food and drink that you get. The service here is also very quick. Even though there was a line here on a Sunday morning, it moved very quick and we got our food very fast! I’ll definitely be coming back to this place in the near future!
Great place for a date or family meal or just to chill by yourself. Indoor and outdoor eating. Very clean and enjoyable atmosphere. Familiar menu but everything has a slight twist so nothing is Run-of-the-Mill. Reasonably priced and goods portions. Our waitress, Mariffer, was pleasant, fast, beautiful, and helpful. We really appreciated her efforts. I had the Fish and Chips, son had the Cubano burger, daughters had the veggie burger and the Cenote Smokehouse. Beet Chips were selected as an appetizer and they were perfect.
This quaint and adorable restaurant is a must visit when youre in Austin. Its not your average diner-style food... but quality breakfast sandwiches, eggs, potatoes, etc. The line to get in was long, but it went fairly quickly and was definitely worth the wait. It reminded me of a grandmas country cottage with real home-cooked food and great coffee! SO good!
Food was good. Nice outdoor area. Only complaint was the girl working behind the register kept on yelling every five minutes at people to close the door while they waited in line. She did this the whole time I was trying to enjoy my breakfast. They should try change the set up so there can be more than two people waiting in line without the third person having to prop the door open. Other than her annoying voice, the place was nice.
Had their breakfast a number of times and really enjoy it. The service is always great, food very very solid and they have a great outdoor seating area. Ive heard they are pretty solid for lunch as well (cant speak to that myself) but would definitely recommend for breakfast/brunch.Only downside I would say is the area is not the greatest. Lots of characters roaming around in the neighborhood and parking is not that easy to put it nicely.
This place has a keep Austin weird vibe. Staff are friendly and answered all questions wehad. The food and drinks were amazing! The eggs Benedict had a unique twist with the chipotle hollandaise sauce. The burrito is huge to make sure the customer leaves full, the burrito make lack a bit of salt (but that may be personal preference,) but the chili sauce that accompanied it makes the whole burrito complete with a more rounded flavor.
Monday brunch, all things considering the pandemic, I look back on this meal and the service fondly. $11 banh mi tacos, the presentation and flavors, very much worth it. I still dwell on it even weeks later. Patrons and staff very mindful of distancing and surfaces. overall an experience that made me almost forget we are in these trying times. Would love to go back.
Good cold brew and a dang good deal on breakfast burritos. Theyre loaded to the max, I could barely finish one half. If I lived here, Id be here all the time.
Absolutely loved this restaurant! The food was delicious without breaking the wallet. The coffee was on point and the staff were friendly as well. Definitely will be back!
Great vibes for a girls brunch or bachelorette... but if youre a local wanting to go out for weekend brunch then its just not my vibe personally. Staff was a bit rude and some food items were under-seasoned. Lattes were good though.
Centoe was an amazing restaurant. If you want coffee, comfort food, or just a spot to study... Centoe is the place for you. The building on the inside was incredibly clean and the outside is well kept. They did a great job incorporating plants into the atmosphere. The food was great! We ordered some of their specialty burgers. Mistake WAS NOT made. Best burgers that I have ever tried. I would recommend this place to my friends.
We actually came for the bakery next door but when we asked about a good cup of coffee they recommended Cenote. The service was knowledgeable, friendly and super helpful. The Dinner menu blew our socks off. Bahn Mi Sandwich and Beet Fries!
Super cool breakfast spot, the lemon lavender mimosa was deeeeliscious! The avocado toast looks like art and the matcha late was also super yummy! Top that with friendly service and you get a super cool spot! I highly recommend it! 👌
Described beautifully on the menu. However breading was much too gritty and dense. Thick skinned if you will. Felt like they could do better for what they charge for their hot honey chicken sandwich. Friend ordered a Salmon Kale salad and her salmon was fairly raw in the middle. Still 3 stars because it’s Cnoté and it’s a great place to chill.
The avocado toast with egg was delicious. The place is beautiful. The classic breakfast was okay. The burrito was cheesy. The almond milk mocha was amazing, except, the barista didnt make the drinks in the order it was received. 4 people behind me got their drinks first before he started making mine when I had a kid waiting for me by the patio. Its not that they were the same drinks either. I watched him the whole time, and he just kept making new drinks and put made mine last. Not cool.
Get the bahn mi tacos! Holy cow were they good! Almost everything else was fantastic as well, except the fries, which were just mushy and lacked any flavor. However, skipping the fries for any of their side salads is a huge upgrade. Looking forward to our next visit!
Delicious food, nice outdoor space, good coffee.Gave 4 stars because of the ordering process. There is only one line to order from (no table service). We wanted to order more drinks for our table but were told we would have to re-wait in the line to do so. Line was incredibly long so we went elsewhere. It would be really helpful to have a drinks only line for customers who already ordered food.
This cenote is THE quintessential neighborhood spot! Good coffee, good beers, tasty foods, plenty of space to hang and enjoy just being
Great food! And a very welcoming atmosphere. Staff here is always incredibly friendly and helpful. The artichoke and bread is mind blowing. Can’t wait to throw down at karaoke night when I visit next summer.
Delicious food! Its a gorgeous spot inside and out. Theres an outdoor patio and lots of space to work from your laptop or just grab a bite to eat with friends.
Quaint coffee shop / restaurant tucked away in Austin’s east side.Great food. Plenty of veggie options. The breakfast tacos are overflowing with eggs and your choice of meat or potatoes. So good - even the birds eat here. So seriously - beware ... these birds are crazy and will eat off your plate. Don’t feed the birds!
Such a cute cafe very close to downtown Austin. Was able to work in the cafe while on a business trip to the city. The staff was so kind and the food was amazing. Outdoor and indoor seating available, if you go check out the paper route bakery attached it was SO GOOD!
Really nice place, welcoming staff. Great drinks and the veggie burgur is so tasty.
Nice atmosphere but food was average at best. It didnt wow me and the almond latte were also ok. Things were a bit pricy
Good food and quirky setting. My hamburger and my girlfriends sandwich were both very good. Limited parking and unfortunately a homeless encampment was across the street but thats no fault of the restaurant but more the fault of the city.
Adorable little coffee shop with an unexpectedly robust menu. Would highly recommend.
Good outdoor vibe, not too busy, and fastA lil price for breakfast, and the food was a 7/10
Had the matcha latte and the Cenote burger, medium rare. This was honestly one of the best burgers I’ve had in recent memory. The meat was juicy and delicious, and the bbq sauce, fried onion, and bacon toppings were perfect companions to every bite. Highly recommend checking this place while in Austin.
The good:House made iced chai was really nice.Hot chicken sandwich was also good along with the fries. The not so good:The lady taking orders seemed to have the goal of speaking as quickly as possible at the lowest volume. The banh mi tacos were really dry and overall not good.Id go back if I were just grabbing drinking, but it wasnt worth a long wait for sure.
Nothing like eating an overpriced breakfast to blaring grunge music. Eeeesh. The food is basic greasy spoon fare. The servings are sizeable hence the one star. Kerbey Lane cafe is just down the street; much better food, ambiance, and prices (and unlike Cenote they give you free house coffee refills!)
This would be the perfect coffee shop to study at (on the weekdays or non brunch hours) but their wifi sucks - still very pretty and the prices are good
Loved this place. Its very comfortable. Food portions were huge.
Great breakfast place. Staff very kind and food came out quick. Building was also very cool
Excellent! Great food. Amazing apple pancakes.
Delicious food, down to earth exceptionally hip staff, chill vibe place... portions will take you through 2 meals. You wont be hungry or disappointed.
SO GOOD! They have the best chai tea latte that Ive ever had. The foam was perfect and the flavor was just strong enough. My husband had an iced mocha and loved it. I had a lox bagel and it was fantastic as well. Their bagels have a great flavor and soft consistency. I would definately want to return here. We went on a Monday morning and it was packed so there is a chance you might have to sit outside but it was nice out there.
Great food, lots of outdoor seating and super friendly staff.
Food is nothing special. Coffee was great. Staff was super friendly
Love this place and vibe! Great stop in austin for coffee.
Very interesting selection of healthy food. Good coffee drinks picnic tables
Visiting from CO and this place has some good coffee and their breakfast burrito is AWESOME. Great quality and it’s huge. Stop by!
While I agree with most reviewers in price being a bit on the high side, you can’t find a place to sit (even at odd times)... so they are doing something right! People keep coming back. From the casual lone laptop customers, to the larger groups and all in between. All enjoy the quiet of the outdoor seating ambience during the day and live music in a perfectly lit ivy covered patio by night.Great place for breakfast and small plates.... Or just coffee and a good chat.
Potato breakfast taco was gigantic!! Great vibes :)
LUNCH REVIEWCame to Cenote with a local friend who said it was one of his favorites. Great coffee shop with great food and outdoor seating.Setting: Inside feels like a coffee shop with people either dining or working on their computers. Outside almost feels like a beer garden with the greenery surrounding you. Definitely try and sit outside if the weather is good.Food: My friend and I shared the below items:Cenote Sweet and Spicy Burger - this burger was AMAZING as it this mango serrano jam and chipotle mayo beyond just being really well-cooked. The bun and the sweet potato fries were top-notch as well.Banh-Mi - not the best banh-mi Ive ever had...the sauce was delicious but I wish there was more meat on there. If I had eaten it alone, I dont think I would have been satisfied.Would definitely come back to Cenote for the burger and to try some other things on the menu.
Great spot for a meet up or study. Lots of seating. Good food, good coffee, good options. Music is fine.
I really liked the place but when I’m new to a place and the people who work there see me struggling on what to have I really love for the people who work there to jump in and offer to help me out. Pretty place, avocado toast was delicious, latte was good. But with better service it would make a better place.
This place is awesome. Really good, old-house vibes, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, would be a nice place to come and do some work. I ordered the salmon salad and the fish was cooked perfectly and the portion size was pretty big. Definitely would come back
Pretty good food with a great brunch and lunch menu. Draft and can beer. nice spot to go and just mingle.their sandwiches are HUGE and the location is pretty popular.
Fun Spot good coffee awesome avocado toast
Cool decor and tasty food! Went on a Saturday and the place was popn. The Chilaquiles were amazing... check out my photo. I love this part of Austin. There is outdoor seating. The whole experience was amazing!! I will definitely be back. They serve beer, but no mixed drinks. The have cold coffee on draft.... which seemed very popular and I will def. order when I go back. A great place to dine!
Very good food and lovely outdoor area
Service is wonderful. Food not so much. Potatoes burnt. McDonalds has better oatmeal. This oatmeal is dry with minimum toppings. Never coming back.
Nice place. Good food, liked sitting outside.
The cenote scramble not only looks great in picture but also tastes great with its unique blend of ingredients. The empanada was very reasonable priced, but I wish they would have had their normal sweeter sauce to go with it, instead of the avocado spread.
Beautiful place with tasty food.
Small portions but its good food, spend around $15.00 per person and still little hungry...
